Let’s begin by saying the girl with fake tan should not be working behind the bar, had to take my own and my partners coffee back up as there was fake tan all over the outside of our cups unfortunately I did not catch the girls name but I think she was the manger on shift. For the price we payed for coffees we left there so dissatisfied.

This Starbucks mucks my order up every time I’m there!! Staff giggling and laughing and being very sarcastic as I get my order taken on drive through and somehow each time I go they give me the wrong drink, and it tastes like they have used old coffee grounds or not given me fresh… stay away.

We arrived to the drive thru on a quiet Sunday afternoon, was greeted by a very unfriendly voice over the intercom. Ordered a number of drinks and clearly it was an inconvenience that I wanted to check the order was correct. She (Brooke) had in fact got a few things wrong in the order and as I never complain I would have happily have let this slide however the staff member’s tone with me was nothing short of appalling. Again at the window, I was given an incorrect drink, and Brooke very condescendingly repeated every drink slowly to me and made me feel like it was my fault that she got our order wrong whilst sighing. So much so, even my children questioned her rudeness. I am never one to complain however this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. If you can visit another Starbucks in Dundee, please do.

Second visit to this site. The first time was when it was recently opened some months ago so gave the benefit of the doubt for poor customer service. Today however, 6 people behind the counter and when I approach the counter not one looked up or even acknowledged me. No one was even at the counter in front of me waiting to be served! Drive through had about 2 cars in it so goodness knows what all 6 members of staff were doing! Regardless of online orders/drive through pressure PLEASE SERVE (OR AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE) THE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE MADE THE EFFORT TO COME INTO YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. Even when we were eventually served, there was no smile, no pleasantries. In fact, we came away feeling like an inconvenience at spending our money with them. So sad.

Came to the over gate shop for a quick coffee however it wasn’t that quick. When I ordered I sat down there were 7 people in front of me. It took ages for me to get my coffee. There were 5 people behind the till. Still I waited. There were 2 at the till o e taking orders one putting cakes on a plate and what I reckon were 3 Baristas? Very slow they were and 2 people in front of me handed back their coffee but don’t know why so it was about 15 minutes wait. So much for a quick coffee which it wasn’t. The staff need to get their act together and help one another out .

Most horrible staff which I sow in any restaurant!!! NEVER COME BACK!!!! Staff simply ignore me for 20 minutes. When ask them about my order just talk with me like with a Dog!!!!

Coffee was great think they need to up their customer service and not look as though they hate talking to you. A worker named Dylan If I recall was extremely unapproachable and seemed to be barking orders at his staff members who were all very young and innocent looking. Not a very nice experience.

Ordered an Americano and two toasties. Paid for them at 14:46 and told to wait in the car park. We received our order at 15:10 after watching the staff wander around the car park looking for cars. I had to go and ask where our order was after 22 minutes of waiting. Appalling service.

Very disappointed with staff clearly not following covid guidelines for cleanliness. When we walked in there were three empty tables which had not been cleaned and when I asked one the staff members if he could please clean the one I was sitting at he said to hold on a minute. Then approx five minutes later he came out and proceeded to clean the empty tables even though he knew I was waiting with my coffee & sandwich in hand. I moved to one of the tables he partially cleaned as it wasn't properly cleaned (the chairs were covered in crumbs but it was better than where I was). Also the toilet was disgusting and hadn't been cleaned for a while. I normally get a take away from here so not impressed with my first sit in experience. To be honest I won't be back.

What an unpleasant experience! Don't go in unless there's a green spot free. Don't dare stand anywhere but exactly on a green spot or else a someone will come round with a tape measure and if you're a few millimetres off, make you move back onto one. Don't sit down while you're waiting the lifetime it takes to serve you. Don't sit at one of the many empty tables without permission. Endure staff barking at you through thick masks behind screens so that you can't understand a word they say. Wait several lifetimes while they prioritise drive-though customers. Don't forget to leave your contact details. Be ordered around to stand in the right place while waiting for your pretty grim coffee in a polystyrene cup and move along when told (but only to a green spot). They managed to remove every ounce of pleasure from the simple joy of having a cup of coffee. I am fully aware there is a crisis on but many places manage to implement the restrictions without being rude and without making you feel that you're unwanted.

Usually go to this Starbucks on my way to or from work and just go through drive thru where the service is always good. Today I parked up and decided to go inside as the store looks good from outside with a large curved window seating area. I could see it was busy from the car park and the full seating outside. In these different times you always feel a bit anxious about going indoors. I needn’t have gave it a second thought. From entering the double doors to my exit the service, cleanliness and their procedures were all first class. Guidelines were in place to ensure everyone felt safe and it was clear enhanced cleaning was utilised continuously. Staff were polite and professional with all the added restrictions and processed transactions swiftly. My order of an Americano and frozen mango ice tea was with me in minutes. Special mention to the manager Gary who was talking with customers while they waited and directing them to spacious, clean seating. I’ll definitely make a point of coming inside more as this store is a modern, spacious well run business.

So just been into Starbucks for first time since lockdown. Interesting to see their take on the cleanliness side of C19, none of the tables have been cleaned, when I asked them to clean the one I was sitting at, it got a quick wipe the other tables remained untouched. This place was never clean at the best of times but I would expect more of an effort currently. Too much to expect???

My visit was to the gallagher retail park Dundee,must say it was the worst bacon roll I’ve had in my life and I’m almost 80. Bacon was barely cooked and riddled with fat and they charged £4.95 Total disgrace,it’s not rocket science to make a descent bacon roll,they should be ashamed

Ordered the breaded haddock and chips,worst meal ina longtime, especially as it was not cheap and looked like a half portion.was overcooked and dry,peas were cold ,chips were under fish to make it look a lot.my friend ordered soup and sandwiches which were terribly sparse of filling,brown bread was cheap.Al lin all pretty rebbish, won't be back

So people are asking why this place closed, as it's quite rightly got great reviews for staff service, food, coffee, and general vibe. This was my favourite spot to have a quiet coffee or meet people for a light lunch in Dundee. Basically, the story is that the owner shafted a pregnant employee the day after she went on maternity. He "fired" her and refused to pay her maternity. The staff, having apparently been paid not that great already which is testament to their professionalism given the quality of service, walked out in protest. This was late Spring when the hospitality industry seemingly had ten job vacancies for every candidate, so they rapidly just found other work and Birchwood's workforce simply evaporated overnight. Word got out on Facebook and, especially given the prices, ignited a general boycott of the place through the outrage. I'm unsure if the employee ever did get her *legally required* maternity pay. The last that was being said was that the owner had not only blocked her number, but also HMRC's! A lesson in how a lovely place can come crashing down through the sheer greed of its owner.
