Great location, rooms are clean and everything you need. Staff very helpful especially Martin on reception who couldn’t do enough to assist. Would be good to have option to include breakfast with hotel stay or offer a discount to hotel guests

Ordered food got told 25 minutes wait, when food arrived it was wrong, took another 10 minutes to sort my food by which time my family had ate their food, wanted to speak to manager, but he just dropped the food on the table and walked away without interaction with myself no apology, then the burger was raw, called the manager back, he said, What's wrong now?... i said its raw!!..yet again no apology just walks off into kitchen to the staff comes back and asks me if i want a refund or food cooked fresh?..unbelievable really..manager needs firing for pish poor customer service skills!!

Comfortable, warm, fireplace to look at and ,of course, amazing prices. Service is generally quick and I do like that the coffee is self service - so much speedier.

It is the usual sort of Weatherspoons environment, but overall a decent bar and it is one of the better ones in general 👍

Wasn't keen on my meal, but it was eatable. Not too busy for Monday afternoon at Xmas. Ok if you want a chat with friends. Not expensive.

Cheap and cheerful, cracking fire for those winter nights

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean room. Generous hospitality tray and unlimited hot drinks. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Check in was at the bar as staff are busy. Check out is a key drop. The food and drink was standard Wetherspoons fare. Even though the bar was busy, we weren't disturbed by the noise and had a good night's sleep on the comfy bed. Our room, on the top floor had a velux window operated by remote control rather than standard window. Some people might not like this so worth mentioning when booking. A great location, handy for exploring the neighbouring area.

Having visited many Wetherspoons over the year's I can say without doubt this is easily the best. Excellent selection, spacious, clean and efficient, and friendly staff. I can't fault it.

This review is for the breakfast experience only. On business to Dundee, I stopped in at the lovely Broughty Ferry area for an early breakfast to avoid rush hour traffic. Easily parked outside of the venue, lovely cooked breakfast, excellent service from the young lady & as always the free cappuccino refills are brilliant when killing time ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cheap and cheerful food and drink, menu is not to bad, always something to pick and eat, good selection of beers, wines etc. It is what you pay for.

Staff friendly and helpful. Served quickly at the bar to place our orders. Food came soon after placing our order.

Comimos Weatherspoon's para la cena ya que nos costó encontrar otra cocina abierta después de las 7 : 30 pm que estaba en la zona nos alojamos. Este tenía un montón de asientos y disponibilidad para comer. Al igual que con cualquier cucharas meteorológicas está bien, pero no es buena comida. La decoración era agradable, pero lo que se destacó para nosotros fue el personal. Fueron muy amables y serviciales. Joseph nos ayudó la noche que estuvimos allí y nos dio grandes ideas sobre la zona. Él era muy amable y como estábamos viajando desde nuestra ciudad apreciamos las propinas.

La “peor” experiencia de cucharas meteorológicas nunca... horrible actitud del personal, la comida era terrible y la cocina sucia y las áreas circundantes necesitan una limpieza profunda.

Nos alojamos aquí por 2 noches, habitación 9 y habitación 19 , (cambiamos de habitación como decisión de última hora) No hay problemas con las habitaciones en absoluto, Habitaciones limpias solo un toque polvoriento , moderno, limpio, fantástica ducha grande 🚿, baño en buen orden, buenas cortinas de ventana & persiana para mantener la luz fuera, TV de pantalla plana, Té, café, sobres de chocolate caliente, galletas, leche no láctea, el personal era genial , Por el lado de la comida tenía platos compartidos, pizza un toque masoso pero el descanso estaba bien, tenía una coca-cola post mix que no me gustó (pero nunca lo hago) de nuevo al personal, eran profesionales, amables, considerados y nada era demasiado problema, me alojaría de nuevo

14 de nosotros planeamos comer en Jollys el lunes 22 de julio. Llamamos el día anterior, ya que era un grupo grande y el buen amigo en el teléfono acordó reservar una mesa. Mientras hablaba por teléfono pregunté sobre comidas sin gluten, ya que teníamos 3 celíacos en el grupo y me aseguró que tenían un menú de GF con mucha información sobre los alérgenos. El lunes llegamos para que nos dijeran que no había registro de la reserva, pero solo para "mover las mesas" ninguna oferta para ayudar, así que simplemente seguimos con ello! Los individuos con necesidades dietéticas fueron a utilizar el tablero electrónico de alérgenos, ya que los menús estaban mal etiquetados. Intentaron usar la placa electrónica, pero se cortó así que pedimos consejo al personal del bar sobre las opciones de GF. No pudieron aconsejar sobre las comidas disponibles, por lo que llamaron al gerente. ¡Era horrible! Inmediatamente fue despreciable, negándose a ayudar solo a remitirlos de vuelta a la placa electrónica rota. Le preguntamos si podía hablar con la cocina para obtener información sobre los platos disponibles y ella se negó. Su actitud fue terrible, fue grosera e inútil e hizo que nuestra amiga y su hija adolescente se sintieran completamente incómodas. Dada la falta de servicio y la falta de información de alérgenos disponibles decidimos irnos. Check in wasn't quick and the room had no window only a velux very high, the whole room was stuffy and dated with hard beds. The pub needed some extra attention as there was glasses everywhere. We did eat curry and it was nice. Would definitely not stay again

Asistió con 3 amigos a las 8 de la mañana del sábado para el desayuno. Pedí un rollo de tocino usando la aplicación. Llegó alrededor de 10 minutos después y muy frío como piedra. Inmediatamente informé a nuestro servicio (una señora con una placa de “gerente”) y ella dijo que la reemplazaría por mí. La siguiente llegó diez minutos más tarde y no estaba fría como una piedra, pero ciertamente no estaba caliente. Le devolví esto al gerente quien dijo “No puedo reembolsarlo por usted”. Respondí que solo quería un rollo de tocino caliente, no mi dinero de vuelta. Me informaron que estaba “sola” y dijo que, aunque empatizaba con eso, no creía que mi solicitud fuera irrazonable. Entonces me dijeron “siento como si me estuvieras culpando”. Bastante asombroso en realidad, ya que siendo el gerente no estoy seguro de quién más sería el culpable de un mal servicio y la falta de personal del lugar... Finalmente me dieron mi rollo de tocino caliente en la tercera vez de pedir, alrededor de 30 minutos después de ordenar y con un comentario sarcástico.

Great price for drinks and nice pub

Went in after walking from carnoustie, drinks were absolutely freezing, refreshing and came in good time on a scorching day. Sat outside and enjoyed a burrito bowl and man had a chicken dish. Excellent price, good quality.

Stayed a couple of days room was lovely and big and a huge shower room but a tiny sink. Room was on the cold side and because the bathroom was so big it never got warm Location was perfect so close to the beach, castle shops and eateries

I had been long stayed in Jolly for 2 months during my apprenticeship with a company in Dundee back in early 2000, such a good memory.

I/we were very disappointed in the service. We had family visit from Canada & this evening we decided to have a night out in this bar. The service and attitude from staff was appalling. Stood at bar to be served waited 15mins which then a queue had started to form. Was totally ignored from barmaid to then be told we had to form part of the queue. When I said to barstaff we had been there first & next to be served was told " if you say so & given an inappropriate face by said barmaid. We then decided to order by the app for table service. When drinks arrived 1 was the wrong drink when questioned about this was told its the same thing but in a bottle (ordered a single vodka received a bottle of smirnoff ice). We were rather disappointed with the service and won't be returning.

We stopped off here for a night. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The bar has very low cost food and beers but the quality was very good. There were a lot of tables that needed cleared though which seems a common feature in the witherspoons pubs I've visited. Tables sit for long periods with dirty plates and empty glasses even when the service is not too busy

Decent boozer & very busy which tells its own story.... worth a visit

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Had to check-in at the bar and was immediately impressed by how discreet the member of staff was about sharing my room number. He pointed to it on the key card rather than saying it out loud at the busy bar, which as a woman checking in alone, I really liked and appreciated. Everything was clean including the corridors. The room was nice with a big comfortable bed. There was also a great selection of hot drink options in rooms, with oat milk sachets for dairy-free folks like me which I was absolutely delighted about! Such a nice touch, that I’ve never had elsewhere. Didn’t use the bar or restaurant so can’t speak on the food/drinks, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed here for work not really nice bar empty glasses on nearly every empty table ran out of certain foods on menu lots of swearing behind the bar also no mayonnaise in all 15 bottle's won't stay again

Not been to a Wetherspoons in ages. However can't complain about promotion of Real Ales.

Visited here after walking from Dundee to Broughty Ferry. Tucked away just off the high street, it's a hospitable, well used "local" as well as a visitor spot. You cannot ever beat Wetherspoons value, you know what you're getting and it delivers every time without fail.

As usual with Wetherspoons this was an excellent pub with a good selection of cask ales. Friendly staff. We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights and although the room was quite small it was clean and comfortable with all the facilities you could wish for. It's in an excellent location in the heart of Broughty Ferry and a short stroll to the beachfront and castle. Although there's no hotel parking you do get plenty of time right outside on the street to load and unload and then there's plenty of free parking 5 minutes away.

As per usual with Wetherspoons,I can't think of much to complain about. The prices are reasonable, the location was brilliant, right in the centre of Broughty Ferry, and it's easy to find free parking very close to the pub-whether it was further down the street or just around the corner on the sea front. The room was clean and well presented with tea and coffee facilities, free WiFi, as well as an iron, ironing board, and a hair dryer. The only issue is probably the size of the room; they are small. Every time I went into the bathroom, the door banged against the sink because it wouldn't open fully, and it's a struggle filling the kettle under the tap because the sink was so small. However, they were minor issues, and as we were only there for 2 nights, it was a small price to pay for the location. The staff were pleasant and helpful,and if you go,look out for the great Dennis the Menace and Gnasher sculpture at the back,and Winkie ,the heroic Broughty Ferry pigeon.

I love this place my holly place im a youtuber and can easily hide away for a year its huge the staff are angels and scholars especially the young cleaners there really friendly ratings an honest ten £1.50 for a coffee ☕️ im in for life then food made by professional chefs i find it hard to go home im yet to try the rooms but ill get there i feature them a lot in my youtube videos without them even knowing

Absolutely disgraceful. Young kid behind bar rude as anything and not helpful. Coffee tasted like dishwater. Will never ever recommend it. Toilets disgusting.

Been here many a time and loved it but this time was not to be.Myself and my husband had to move rooms at 1am because of noise issues coming from the beer garden that shut at 9pm and this went on until 12.30am, two very loud inconsiderate women and to top it all off the were in the adjoining room next to us where the noise continued.Spoke to a staff member who had noticed the issue in the beer garden but failed to tell them to tone it down, but waited until they got into there room at 12.30am only to get the door slammed in her face.Got moved to another room which i realised in the morning had no hot water even though the staff knew about the water issues, I think this should of been highlighted to guests on check in.Spoke to other guests that were having the same issues.Seemingly lee the manager said the hotel can run like this, beats me when there’s a pandemic going on.Both rooms were very dusty, thick dust on the ceiling shade wallpaper and all round the edge of the carpet.Had the same issue with dust on a previous visit, not looking for 5star rooms and treatment but surely cleaning should not be overlooked?Cut our stay short because of the water issue which was a bit of a shame.Staff lovely, Lee the manager sorted us out with breakfast and a full refund.Hopefully the next time there won’t be any issues.

Lo mejor, la cortina de ducha curva para que no se te pegue.Las molestias de Covid estaban ahí, el café se completó con una bolsa de "golosinas" que quedó fuera de la habitación, lo cual está todo bien, pero no - ¿Cuchara para revolver mi café? y sin embargo tuve que luchar con el bebé para quitarle el cepillo del inodoro, ¡a medio segundo de ser succionado!A veces pienso que las reglas son más que ridículas. Mientras revolvíamos nuestro café con el bolígrafo adquirido en el último destino, reflexioné sobre la necesidad de un cepillo de baño sucio y repugnante de todos modos. . . ¡no los tenemos en casa! Este es un pub Wetherspoon sin lujos en Broughty Ferry. Sin embargo, de todos los que he estado en el Reino Unido, es de lejos el mejor en términos de personal, lugar y ubicación.Es genial ver los sistemas covid 19 adecuados en su lugar con respecto al seguimiento y rastreo, solo pedidos de aplicaciones, servicio de camarera, etc.La cerveza aquí está muy bien guardada y servida y a 1:29 una pinta más barata que la de Tesco.Mi única crítica y, por lo tanto, no obtener 5 estrellas es que los baños masculinos en nuestra visita el 15/8/20 tenían cuatro urinarios. Dos fueron grabados por distanciamiento social mientras que los dos trabajadores fueron bloqueados. Cuando informé de esto al personal, no se hizo ningún esfuerzo para rectificarlo y cuando volví a visitar los baños una hora más tarde, los dos urinarios bloqueados (uno con papel y otro con orina) todavía estaban bloqueados.

Half hour wait for a wrap & a panini! The toasted panini was cold & had to ask for our drinks as they hadn't arrived by time good eventually arrived. No apologies for delay. Pretty poor.

Great service - at bar, and then food. Excellent value as ever (Friday fish deal 7.99 for fish and chips with a pint of cider to wash it down). For once in a Weatherspoon's you don't need to walk miles for the loo!!! Bonus.

Excellent pub/hotel. We had lunch on a Friday so had the fish and chips. The building has been updated and everything is nice, clean and tidy. The food was excellent and service was quick and efficient. The toilets were very clean and pleasant.

Always enjoy a decent Wetherspoons and this one is definitely one of the best. I enjoyed some chicken wings followed by a steak and a couple of pints. All for around £17. Just cannot go wrong. Friendly and efficient staff and a lovely building. Will be back.

We visited here some years ago and it hasn,t changed, you can now stay in the hotel upstairs. Food was very good as was the service. We have rarely had a bad experience in Wetherspoons and actively seek them out

me and my friend first time visit to this pub/hotel I had a large mixed grill and a non alcoholic drink while he had a big burger pepsi max and chips lovelovely town and a nice hotel and pub setting and décor would recommend this hotel though I did not stay in it!

Jollys is a typical Wetherspoons with the usual Scottish specialities. Service was quick and cheerful.

For the price you pay here, you cannot complain. Good steaks and cheap drinks. Pizza is good value too. It is not a fine dining establishment and I feel some people forget this when they come here and get on their high horse. Stick to simple things on the menu and you won’t be disappointed. Service can be slow on busy nights and people skipping you at the bar can be frustrating - management need to do something about this. I’ve resorted to using the Spoons App which has made our visits more enjoyable.

I have eaten lunch here twice and in my most recent visit, the Wetherspoon's pub was understaffed. There was only one person working at the bar as a huge queues was forming and then some other staff member was hovering but not doing anything. Also the food was expensive by Wetherspoon's standards. Overall I don't recommend this place until the number of staff is increased.

I very often go to Jolly's with friends, family, work or solo either for a couple of drinks, fish & chips or lunch. I always have a great time as I love the atmosphere, but I'll never forget the day when I was sitting out in the garden when a seagull attacked and destroyed my food, I was unsure about what to do with the situation so I just went to the bar for advice and ended up with a complimentary hummus & roasted veg wrap --- and everyone was so very nice, accommodating and kind to me (including the manager), it really made my day, thanks so much for such an unforgettable experience!!

Just back from a visit to jolly’s Broughty ferry, go there at least once a week and to say standards have slipped would be an understatement. Only 3 staff on at a very busy lunchtime service asked for a dark fruits cider and a kopperberg cider neither were on in either draft or bottle ordered 2 pizzas waited half an hour they were under not lamps for at least 20 minutes. Huge queues waiting to be served at the bar by 1 girl only other person I saw was trying to serve food and at least 20 meals sat waiting to be delivered to tables, things got so bad the chef from the kitchen came out to help to clear the backlog. Looks like a classic case of cutting down on staff and expecting things to go smoothly.

Visitar el nuevo museo V & A en Dundee, hospedarse en el alegre hotel. ¡Qué decepción, la habitación de categoría superior no está limpia, la espuma de jabón en la ducha era asquerosa! Corredor de la cama lleno de manchas. El restaurante de la planta baja es como un mercado de ganado, solo nos tomamos unas copas, pero la zona del bar estaba tan ocupada que nos sentamos en la zona del restaurante, esto estaba tan lleno de mesas sucias, el restaurante tenía solo 1 pobre chica que servía, se veía tan ¡Estresado, el bar solo tenía 2 raciones, 1 persona para bebidas y 1 persona para comida! ! ! Nunca volveremos. ¡Una desgracia! ! !

If you are after a great meal deal and cheap drinks this is the place to go.The food is great value for money and they now cater quite well for vegetarians.Not a massive drink selection but value for money is great.

This review is about the Wetherspoon's pub, not the adjacent hotel where we stayed for 2 nights. We spent some time in the pub and it was busy, the service was fine and the prices were great. That took care of Saturday. Sunday breakfast was delicious and there is a very varied menu which is very inexpensive and the service was good. Sunday afternoon went down hill. Most of the bottled wine was sold out making the choice very limited indeed. The two guys on the bar struggled to cope and there were queues for drinks whilst from where we were sitting we could see the food was being placed at the pass, but there was no-one collecting it. No-one seemed to be in charge and the teams didn't work well together. Some of our party had lunch and said it was good, despite all the delays. However there is real room for improvement.

This very busy restaurant offers the usual Wetherspoons fare, the delivery of the main courses was slow and they did not all arrive at the same time, great atmosphere, on street parking.

Despite the modest frontage, this place is huge. Friday night was busy, but there were plenty of empty seats. Typical Wetherspoons in that the beer was good and the staff were overworked, leaving a backlog of dirty glasses and plates waiting to be collected. As always in these outlets, the prices were very reasonable,

Hotel has good location. Staff very helpful. Hotel clean. Prices for food and drink very reasonable. Very busy, popular for meals. We had a twin room which was comfortable and clean, though unfortunately it had a door which joined to another room. These two rooms are more suitable to families as the soundproofing due to the door is not good, especially when the occupants of other room have tv on at 7.00 in morning and till after 12.00 at night. You can hear every noise, even the person next door snoring, so if you get allocated one of these rooms, please ask to be moved. Wish we had.

Food is excellent, rooms pretty good and the prices are just amazing. The food and drinks on offer are excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Now let me start by saying I'm a Wetherspoons fan in general. Specifically there are a few constants I dislike such as the dirty sticky card board menus with more A-4 dirty copies stuck to them, The amount of peas and chips you find on the carpet, and the fact that toilets are located down or up a labyrinth Harry Potter type passage ways where one expects to meet Dumbledorf after a few pints (if it's late a night).

We popped into this popular restaurant and got a burger 🍔 with haggis and whisky sauce .Delicious 👍👍and well presented . Well worth a try
