Starbucks in Richmond upon Thames

Unfortunately this Starbucks needs a total overhaul. The setting is great but the lack of cleanliness is appalling. Tables are not wiped or cleared often enough, we have to ask for that. Worst of all are the toilets...they are filthy, not just surface dirt but deeply ingrained grime on the front and back of the doors, the walls and sink. Bins overflow. There is no rota visible for cleaning and anyway, this is more than a regular wipe job for young staff. I wrote to head office, first time they sent two vouchers for coffee but nothing was done to rectify the problem so I wrote again with photos....no reply! Surely someone should give the place a deep clean and smarten it up. it is used by locals and tourists...is this the impression we want to give. Not used by us any more...we value our health!

Typical Starbucks Coffee and Service , sadly no bins seemed available so we couldnt clear our table ( Muffins in bags as Dishwasher broken so no plates ) of all disposable items. Seating etc fine. Toilet ( only one ) was dark, decor dark green, and position of hand dryer meant lot of water on floor as people went from sink to drier. Main concern though was the sink it had obviously not had a thorough clean, traces of black mould around plughole and tap bases visible even in subdued lighting. This is a busy cafe but it must be possible to ensure hygenic facilities . Poor

bit overpriced. but always a treat/ the staff is also nice and the atmosphere is quiet and easy to work in. clean inside

Staff were great…place was dirty & tired…Starbucks so need to refurb this venue…toilets were filthy and needed to be cleaned.

Dreadful experience. Very unfriendly staff. After ordering was told that could only pay with contactless card unless I wanted to tell my pin to the cashier for them to enter (which I assume is illegal, unprofessional to say the least). Completely messed up order. Drink wrong and pastry stale. All witnessed by incompetent female manager, who failed to even apologise. Returned home to find I had been overcharged and presented with the wrong receipts. Abysmal service and will be sure to never return here

Our pastries were dry, not fresh. Coffees were rushed and slopped when made so they overspilt on the sides of the mugs. Floors were sticky. Hand drier in toilet was not working.

It was busy the evening we called in for a drink and snack before visiting Kew. When we arrived there was only one member of staff and she was struggling to cope as several people had the same idea as us. The seating areas were a bit tired and needed a clean, it was not of the usual Starbucks standard.

I am confused by the bad reviews... I visited for a take away cappuccino. The staff were friendly, and the service was prompt. I would definitely return.

Manager of the store has been missing for months. Machines broken, dishwasher broken and staff overworked. Same staff everyday are miserable. No blonde roast. Came with business partners. A shame because I am local. Sort the manager. Decor is very dated as well and tables are filthy we had to clear ourselves.

Needed a quick coffee when we came from the Tube. The all Eastern European staff could be a little bit more friendly, perhaps smile.

I am not a fan of Starbucks generally but this one is convenient for meeting at Kew Gardens station. We had to clear and wipe our own table which is not a great start. The decor is dark and dated. We went for their blond roast in a white americano which was strong but not pleasant tasting. All in all not a great experience which just reinforced my dislike of this chain.

Walked out from our hotel.stopped here once we had been for our walk. Staff friendly,cappuccinos good.

It taste like any other Starbuck... Of course! But this one is perfect for a some caffein and feet-resting (after walking kew gardens for 3 hour) before heading back into London!

much needed break on the walk from Kew gardens to the train station. Like all starbucks you know exactly what you are getting. This one is set in a pretty little set of shops

The service here is great but get in early before it gets too busy. As soon as Kew Gardens opens you can find yourself in a really long queue.

a nice little starbucks let down by poor service. orders were taken ok but the girl making drinks was just flinging milk around everywhere and getting drinks wrong. drinks were dumped on the counter and not presented well. i wanted so long for my drink to be made correctly that the person i was with had finished theirs by the time i finally sat down. i know it’s busy and the staff are tired but there have to be some standards.

as i left a review last months also i sent an e-mail to Starbucks and nobody reply to me.

Romana was very sweet. Nice to have a simple coffee order made more enjoyable by a warm friendly smile.

Really Rude Polish Girls...Really bad experience...never again...Dont waste your money there...down the road is a better coffee shop...

Popped in yesterday to evade the showers, pleasant efficient staff, nice cappuccino and a delicious couple of slices of fruity toast made it a pleasurable experience.

Stopped here for coffee and panini on a Saturday morning. It was busy but staff were quick and efficient. Plenty of seating further back in shop.

I sat in here for an hour or so to charge my phone and have something to eat and drink. Nice location near Kew Gardens. I would also like to say the person who served me, who I believe was from Spain was very nice indeed and she was a credit to the company. Great customer service, so hopefully that message can be passed on to her. Saludos para ella!

Place was very busy on the beautiful warm Saturday of a bank holiday weekend I was there. Service was pretty slow. Tea was good. Not a fan of the pre-made sandwich.

A very bad customer service the staff that work here are very rude and arrogant and they do not know anything about customer service. Very sad its my local i shall not be coming here anymore and i do not recommend it to anyone.

Normally I like most Starbucks I go in as the coffee is good and the staff are generally very good and friendly.

I rarely use Starbucks in the UK as the coffee is usually terrible as the beans are so poor however there is not much choice locally so decided to give this place a go. Had to queue for ages as only one server but espresso was not bad at all and sitting in the Sunshine was pleasant.

Having queued for 15 minutes this morning, I was then told they have no earl grey tea ! It's a coffee/tea shop, sort it out ! What bad management.

良くも悪くも、何の変哲もないスターバックスですが、しばしば行列ができているのを見かけます。大きな理由は、キュー植物園内のカフェは値段が高めに設定されているためです。スタバも決して安いとは言えませんし、何を買うかにもよりますが、基本的に植物園で飲み物を買うよりはお得です。ここで飲み物を調達してしまえば後は歩いて3分で入園できるので、散策のお供にするには便利です。

Great location, nice to sit out side and watch the day go by, coffee was Starbucks great but the gal serving was miserable.

En los días soleados este lugar se estaban atestados de gente de Kew Gardens. Algunos empleados están bien algunos son miserables, buena, aunque el café.

Fab location. Kew village is a gem and Starbucks as always has something for everyone. Good coffee and a great range of treats.

Its local so fallen in here a few times, but wont be back. The wait is painful so don't even think about it if you have train to catch. And quality of a flat white is up and down. Staff just not bovered and unfriendly in my experience.

I won't be entering another Starbucks after my experience at this store. I went in yesterday looking for a hot drink and as I can't have caffeine due to personal health problems I requested a decaf tea and was told "we don't put coffee in our tea." This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard as you would've thought a barrista would be aware of the fact there there is still caffeine in tea. I was so shocked and angry, I promptly left without any refreshment and will not be returning to a Starbucks again. Costa is much better.

It's just another Starbucks. Lacks soul. High staff turnover. Coffee gives me a headache but they have seats outside which is great on sunny days.

This is my local Starbucks but I have not visited recently. It has been refitted and the ambiance is pleasant.I went for a a breakfast of coffee and croissant after an early appointment en route to another. Sadly, the single espresso was extremely weak and the croissant was stodgy and unappealing...more like bread than a proper croissant. I used to have their excellent bacon rolls when I had a regular appointment in Richmond and enjoyed them. It is a shame they do not have better croissants as the rest of their offer looks pretty good.

Il locale è piccolo, giustificato dal fatto che la stazione di Kew Gardens non è certo fra le più frequentate, ma il personale è molto gentile e ci sono le solite offerte di Starbucks, compresa una zona dolci. Ideale per fare una colazione con calma e tranquillità prima di prendere la metro per buttarsi nel caos della zona 1!

Customers as well as staff there are quite relaxed at this Starbucks. Many stopped by after Kew Gardens' visit and some locals came here for a small chat. If you are in a rush, this is not a place to order and run away with a drink.

Starbucks is Starbucks nothing much more to say apart from its location which is lovely.One thing to mention is the new Chicken / Bacon / Emmental panini is really nice.

Does what it says on the tin. I will be going again tomorrow no dought for a good morning/afternoon coffee. Due to the fact that I can't be bothered to make my own. Happy days.

Tomar um café no Starbucks é sempre muito bom. Por todos os cantos de Londres tem sempre um café Starbucks . Para acompanhar o café você pode pedir um cake ou então umGostoso sanduíche que aquecem na hora.

Nice enough coffee bar with wifi. It has clean loos as well. This one in Kew Village has tables outside so is a cut above the rest.

Great coffee and team of staff here - it's our local coffee shop, super friendly whenever we go in.Try to avoid the post school drop off as it can get a little noisy - also with its proximity to Kew station and the gardens it can sometimes have a small queue but nothing too busy.Considering we go a couple of times a week at various times we really can't find any faults with the place, staff or coffee - and ok it gets a little busy with parents after the school run but not enough to deter you when in need of a caffeine fix.

在大英看到Starbucks真是不多，很熟悉的感觉，不自觉的就要进去。咖啡还是如全球标准一样棒！点饮品的时候，碰到一个说中文的服务生，觉得很贴心！

A big thank you to the staff member who, after I ordered the gluten free chocolate brownie, checked whether I needed it for medical reasons and when I said I did, she got me a fresh sealed one from a separate stock. Good service in the UK is getting harder to find so this was greatly appreciated.

Of course the coffee is the same as another Starbucks, but the staff are nice. There are plenty of locals so the atmosphere is more relaxed, although as another reviewer noted it does get very busy at certain times of day around school pick-up and drop-off.

Don't go as much to coffee shops but this one is good, friendly staff always happy and smiley in the morning will keep going for my regular shot

큐가든 역 근처의 스타벅스입니다. 카페테리아가 예쁜 곳이예요. 직원들이 영어를 잘 못해서 조금 불편하긴 했지만 분위기가 좋은 카페입니다.

I guess it's a bit odd writing a review of a Starbucks as you know what you're going to get.If you don't like Starbucks then don't go.But the reason for this review is personal experience of good customer service, they always have enough staff working there, so even when it's busy you don't seem to wait too long.It's open ridiculously early so good for a pre work caffeine boost. And the staff are personable as well!

Coffee here is standard Starbucks and is the same as any other. The service is reasonably good and friendly. It's quite a busy cafe and therefore its often difficult to get a seat especially because there are a number of people with laptops on wifi, plugged into the mains sipping one tall Americano for several hours. Quite a nice spot to sit outside in the summer months if you're visiting the area or handy to grab a latte to make a lengthy tedious tube journey on the District line or overground a little less painful.

Refreshing to have them still open at 8pm. Very friendly and helpful staff, good service great location.

Friendly staff, central location and excellent wifi to enable catch ups while relaxing. Convenient to Barnet tube and overground railway.

こちらのスターバックスに限らずですが、ロンドンのスターバックスでは無料Wi-Fiが使えます。これがかなり便利でした。街中ではあまり無料Wi-Fiがなく、さらに今回私が宿泊したホテルにもWi-Fiがなかったので、かなり重宝しました。特に登録など不要な点もありがたい。珈琲はフラットホワイトを注文。日本のスターバックスにはないような。全体的に日本よりややお値段高めですが、おいしかったです。

This is a standard Starbucks that has recently been refitted.I like Starbucks coffee and the food they provide and this is in a convenient location on the route from Kew Gardens Station to Kew Gardens.There is one privately owned coffee shop in Kew, Torrelli's, which I prefer slightly, but I enjoy Starbucks and go there about once a week

Well I must confess that until today I had never dreamed that I would ever frequent a Starbucks.So on arriving from the railway station at Kew you have to walk past here on the way to our destination of Kew gardens.The real reason for calling in at Starbucks was to kill a bit of time before the gardens opened,but that confession out of the way it was not a bad move.It was nice and warm inside,and the staff were welcoming and friendly,the tea was hot & as strong as you like it.I also had a sausage in a bread roll,and my wife had a ginger biscuit.Summing up,I feel like a hypocrite for even walking in to such a place,but credit where its due,and I would go in to a Starbucks again,but don't promise that I will be hooked like some people are.The prices were reasonable for such a location.

It is like every other starbucks. Boring. The rear is like a cave and god forbid you are there at school run. try some where else in beautiful Kew.

Not sure but it seems the UK starbucks use a different formula than the US. Most everything I have ordered from Starbucks in the UK has a different taste. Also love the Sausage breakfast sandwich in the US they dont have them here in London.

Me salvou na manhã de reveillon em Richmond. Estava ali aberto e com a qualidade de sempre. O melhor mesmo, para brasileiros e preço. Não tem nem comparação com os do Brasil.

Quando o frio apertar ou mesmo queira usar o toillet vá no starbucks ! não é caro e sempre vc encontrará um seja em Londres ou em Paris.

Starbucks is right by the tube station so whilst it would necessarily be my first choice, it was reliably open early in the morning to provide commuters with their coffees/early morning breakfast

It's Starbucks. It looks like Starbucks, it tastes like Starbucks, it really shouldn't be in lovely Kew Gardens. Horrible festive inspired hot chocolate with honey and almond, it tasted vile. Chemically and just awful. There are some lovely independent coffee shops in Kew, literally a few yards from here so why would you even think about going to an American chain coffee shop? I am truly ashamed of myself.

Che dire, adoro queste caffetterie! Sono comode ed accoglienti, usano un ottimo latte di soia ed hanno un eccellente pasticceria. Per il caffè non saprei giudicare perché non sono un estimatrice di questa bevanda ma adoro tutte le bibite calde, spesso aromatizzate, di Starbucks. In più adoro il fatto che sia un posto dove stare tranquilli senza essere disturbati per il tempo che si vuole, magari usufruendo della connessione wifi.

Perfect place, when the weather is good, to sit outside and people watch as they come in and out of Kew Gardens Station in a wonderful lush, green and slightly tropical square. Lovely gentle and bustling sound of passers by.

The wifi here is not good if that's what you're going to use there. Very frustrating. The coffee and drinks are the same stuff you get in any Starbucks. The food really lacks choice and isn't very nice (avoid the humous wrap, very odd texture). Go to an independent (there's loads in Kew and Richmond), get better coffee, service and food and don\t spend your money there.

An excellent Starbucks store with very attentive staff. Much better in my opinion than Costa Coffee. A definite find for that mid morning break.

Slow at the best of times, this Starbucks is a nightmare on a Sunday when people are visiting the gardens in Kew. Be prepared for queues out of the door. Another hotspot is weekdays during school term-time when the Yummy Mummies invade after dropping off the kids at local prep schools. Buggies and toddlers are rife. Not the place for a quiet, relaxing coffee. But it opens at 6.30, so on the way to work, what's not to like about Starbucks?

After becoming used to the fantastic coffe at the National Archives, the Starbucks was terrible. It is truly the "McDonalds of coffe", if you want proper coffe, go somewhere else!

You walk through the door into people queuing to get their coffee, you then go to order and pay, which is a big queue all the way along-side the fridge, usually blocking the way for others to go to the back of the place. You then order and pay (after a long while) and queue up the other end, blocking the entrance! This Starbucks was fine, though somewhat slow. Since their June 2013 redesign, it is just a joke. Quite a stressful experience that is even worse when someone doesn't get the weird queuing system and jumps in front of you. Sort it out people!

un peu comme l'enseigne Mc Donalds, vous en trouvez à tous les coins de rue y compris dans ce coin de verdure. heureusement le magasin reste discret et ne gâche pas le cadre charmant.une large choix de café, chocolat et autres boissons chaudes ou froides de différentes tailles à consommer sur place ou à emporter.pour avoir testé les chocolats noisette, à la crème... j'en suis fan!

This Starbucks is in a very convenient location, and is well laid-out with good facilities and well-trained, helpful staff. The most useful thing for me is that it opens at 6am on weekdays, which means it's a great place to stop by early before work and catch up with correspondence in a lovely quiet atmosphere. 10/10.
