Unfriendly staff.I payed £4.50 for a coffee with syrup and when I told them that probably they forgot to put syrup in they just ignored me.Saturday 24/06/23 at 12:15…Totally disappointed from their behaviour.Not even offered me to add some syrup at all

Rudely victimised in the store by the for , eign manager just because the staff forgot to ask me for my personal details as per their out dated use of track and trace. There are several ways this so called manager could have approached the situation , even a simple hello good morning " how's your drink , everything alright "?. As the purchase of expensive drinks is what keeps the staff in their job. Rather than opt for this more productive and client building approach she came in confrontational. I'm well aware this this seems to be a company culture thing with Starbucks that they regularly look to single out POC in the store for a multiple. array of random reason's mostly far from legitimate. Track and trace is no longer mandatory. I've been in 10 coffee shops this week and this is the first time I've been harassed for it. I'm one of the most covid safe people amongst my peer group , I took the trouble of ordering my drink in a takeaway to sit in despite the extra charge that , Starbucks apply for that in the middle of a pandemic when the use of takeaway. cups would be safer then ones that , involve more contact and far wider scope for transmission. She yelled at me from the other side of the bar , came over with very aggressive body language I almost felt that I would have to spark her in self defence on occasions , through out the interaction. I said I would comply despite trying to explain to her that this was no longer a necessity. Because her attainment of English was so poor she , she misunderstood. comply as complaint; Then went off on a tangent about customers complaining and it not really making a difference to how staff treated customers. Basically it appears Starbucks like most of our institutional monopolies. Don't really care about logic and customer satisfaction. She stood at my table less then 2 meters. ordered me to write down my info as if I were a naughty school boy. Another own goal as touching a communal pen would have been a risk for transmission. unlike my wise use of a disposable. cup. She kept ordering me to leave it did not work even though she made a big scene in-front of everyone. I told her if she wanted the info so bad jot it down. I just said whatever name and number. She was so rude and nasty through out and tried to teach me the law in my own country , as the more clued up amongst us know that the weak guidelines of the SNP are neither mandatory in their enforcement. In principle (lack of ) they are never consistent. Just like Starbucks approach. I went in Starbucks in Lothian road and the manager was walking around without a face covering I have seen similar double standards here. Some staff ask for your details others don't. This manager is frequently rude and I feel she only singled out in such a derogatory. manner for reasons , that I stated. at the beginning. I won't complain to the head office as it's a waste of time. Besides I gave her a more accurate appraisal. of her conduct on the shop floor. In short this branch only continues because it's located near hay market and the company brand. As a company they are the embodiment of W privilege.

love getting a cheeky wee coffee and a toastie whilst watching the trains with my pals, then a short walk to Haymarket station for the girls night out, wooohooo!

Try here for breakfast if your staying around the corner at the Hilton grosvenor at least you know it's fresh hot and won't give you food poison as its clean unlike the hotel good coffee at Starbucks prices

I am an American transplant to Edinburgh and I have found that the friendly inviting feeling from the staff that works at this location is above expectations. My drinks and food are always prepared quickly and the staff are genuinely kind and professional. I always go to this location ahead of others.

We didn't go there but observed a very kind gesture. We came home late from Glasgow and saw a staffer come out and give unsold (I assume) sandwiches to a homeless person sitting outside. Bravo

Must be one of the slowest coffee shops ever. I’ve never bought before catching a train because of their slowness

Convenient location next to the station and a good place to pick up a takeaway coffee. However no ambience so I wouldn’t sit in here. The seating area is small and very cold as the staff open the back door often to take out the rubbish. I have been here a quite few times and this is always the case. It can be left open for quite long periods of time as well. Maybe the heating could be improved or the door could be opened less often? There is outside seating for the summer but it is right next to the train tracks.

Very friendly and very convenient, just in front of Haymarket train station. It has internal and external seats.

Även här så kan man få sitt favoritkaffe som man känner väl igen. Som vanligt så smakar det på samma sätt som på vilken SB som helst.

Situato proprio davanti alla stazione di Haymarket, è una sicurezza per avere un buon caffè e una torta al limone per colazione. E' piuttosto piccolo ed affollato, ma garantisce la tipica qualità Starbucks, anche per il WiFi gratuito. Personale molto gentile, sorridente e premuroso.

Great place to hangout and grab a nice cup of coffee before boarding a train to places or bus or tram to the Edinburgh airport. There were tables and chairs for customers to seat and enjoy their coffee however places availability was limited.

Typical Starbucks, conveniently located at the entrance/exit of Haymarket Station. Quick friendly service, formula coffee etc. Just what you would expect.

Came in here for a coffee and cake - tried the flat white - never had this from Starbucks and it was lovely! Blueberry muffin was v moist and tasty. Wish there was more seating but it is just a small place. Toilets were actually really clean!

Great starbucks in cute neighborhood. This was our local place for coffee while staying in Edinburgh! it is right next to the train station and the staff were always accommodating and helpful to the Americans! (us). You can enjoy wifi and there is an outside eating area if you like. The inside area is rather small.

The staff within this cafe were very friendly, but it was a shame that it wasn't to the usual brands standards when it came to seating as much of its seating is outdoors, which in October, is not the best idea.

Okay, I'm ashamed to admit that the very first place we went when we arrived in Scotland was a Starbucks. The familiar sign was a happy sight when we were dragging our luggage in the general direction of our hotel. The coffee and pastries were good as always, and there is an outdoor seating area, which was nice. It is right next to the train station, which is very convenient.

It's your standard Starbucks (although a little small), but the thing which makes this Starbucks stands out is there's an enclosed outdoor area which is shielded from the street with a glass wall. It's really nice to sit outside with a cool frappucino on a warm day.

I have going in to this coffee shop on an almost daily basis for several years now and I have to say that it is certainly the best in Edinburgh and one of the best I have ever been in. I say this because the staff are so friendly and were on first name terms with many of their customers long before it became standard practice to ask customers their names. Also, unlike many other coffee shops (including some Starbucks), they have a well practised routine when taking orders and making coffee that ensures that at busy times the queuing time is minimal. They have a seated area at the front which I avoid as the large window on to the pavement makes one feel like a goldfish in a bowel but there is a lovely little outside area at the rear overlooking Haymarket station which is always quite and especially appealing to anyone interested in trains. Nevertheless it is the staff that make this shop noteworthy and I recommend you try it out.

When I stayed in the USA we used to drink lot of star bucks coffee.However it is very rare to see Star Bucks in UK.I was pleasantly surprise when I saw many Starbucks coffee shops in Edinburgh.One of my fav coffee shops to drink coffee :) :)

Who would dream of putting mayonnaise in a gluten free Christmas turkey wrap? Yuk! Choice further reduced to a Thai prawn noodle salad - which was nice.

The coffee is decent, however, I do think it's incredibly overpriced for the amount you get. Nice place to go and treat yourself to something special during Christmas though.
