Starbucks in Allerdale

Visiting this establishment for coffee. Found the female person serving extremely rude telling my partner off for not being able to enter his car reg no. By pressing the screen - her saying he was hitting the screen when he was only pressing firmly but nothing was happening. I was shocked that she spoke in such a manner snatching the screen from him. Extremely bad customer service and definately not a credit to Starbucks.

We have been coming to this particular store for years now. The staff are knowledgeable and always welcoming the drinks are always made perfectly and the restaurant is always family friendly.

Won't ever go back! Went for a relaxed coffee with a friend to have a catch-up and stayed a while enjoying the expected relaxed setting of a coffee house as we have done many times before. Unknown to us, Starbucks parking has recently changed from free and unlimited time to being now under the control of a thieving company who are just out to rob you blind for staying more than 90 minutes! And did Starbucks management or employees bother to mention it to their customers....nope. Happy to take your money and watch you tick into a £100 parking fine.

The place is absolutely filthy the 3 times I’ve been. Obviously a long term problem and not a one off. Very quiet but all three girls behind counter just chatting rather than clearing away rubbish and food wrappers. Very unfriendly staff. Don’t support these big faceless organisations and instead go and support many of the small independent cafes in town.

We had a quick stop here to grab an Iced Latte and Mocha before heading for a walk at Bassenthwaite Lake and found the service to be great. Don't understand all the negative reviews but I suppose we don't frequent enough to notice these things - didn't notice dirty tables or the building being cold during our visit.

Dirty cups and plates over most of the tables here. 3 staff standing behind the counter giggling. This place has potential, such a well known company needs managing.

The actual place is uncomfortably cold and despite asking for an extra hot cappuccino, that arrived luke warm. Wooden knives are useless for cutting a toastie. Come on Starbucks, raise your game

Came to sit in for a coffee it was warmer outside than inside the inside is like an empty shell not impressed at all no Christmas decorations just bland and freezing doubt I will be back when there is a warm Costa in town

Absolutely freezing inside appeared to be no heating on whatsoever and seats, tables and floor dirty. Staff on phones. Unpleasant experience.

We frequent use this establishment, sometimes daily every week. It's not the cleanest normally, but today was absolutely shocking. Tables covered in crumbs and the floor was a lot worse!! Enough staff in to clean, but they would rather stand and chat to each other. The only time it gets cleaned is when the regional manager is in. Something has to be done about this place as a lot of people do use it.

I didn’t go inside so cannot comment on that but the drive through was one of the quickest I had been through and friendly too. Glad for it as I was in a rush on route to work

Called in for a coffee and cake. Coffee was good. The place was v quiet yet tables were full of dirty cups etc. There was crumbs all over the floor that should have been swept up. The staff were having a good gossip at the serving counter ignoring the mess. The toilets were filthy. The floor hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, the sink had dust covering it ! During covid times cleanliness should be a priority. We will not be returning.

I arrived after a long hard day at work at 8:26 to be told they’ve stopped serving, even though there was a couple at the counter waiting for drinks, not wanting to make a scene I left and I googled the Cockermouth opening times and to my surprise they don’t stop serving until 8:30 PM, why me being there 4 minutes before closing means no service? Absolutely no idea. Appalling!

Visited late evening at the end of Jan to see customers sat in store! Visited again early afternoon start of March to witness no protection screen at their drive through, no social distance measures being adhered to and staff either not wearing masks at all or wearing masks pulled down to their chins! I have reported to Starbucks & Local Health Authority!

I really do not know why this starbucks has got such a bad rep. It is far cleaner and nicer than the ones back home. The staff seemed nice and catered to my little ones well. A nice unhealthy treat to begin a long drive back from a wonderful stay in the lakes.

Best coffee in Cumbria,staff always polite and friendly nothing is ever too much trouble.Quick service with a smile.We visit 3 or 4 times a week or more if I get my way!

Disgustingly dirty. Tables not wiped down. The cloth seats were covered in old food and stains. Floor not swept. I can’t believe this is still being allowed to trade in these Covid times.

We visited here for a couple of coffees. I had to wait quite a while to receive my order but the staff were busy with a seemingly endless drive through queue. The premises were disgusting. The floor was filthy and although seating was socially distanced, no tables were wiped down between customers whilst we were in there. The ladies' toilet was beyond disgusting. Dirty toilet seat, blocked toilet, filthy, wet floor. We couldn't wait to leave. In the current climate, with Covid posing such a massive health risk, this place really needs some serious deep cleaning. We won't be returning!

Disgusting , filthy , food on the floor , virtually empty but most tables with empty cups , crumbs etc . Only positive was the coffee , this place is going to the dogs.

Absolutamente terrible servicio. No es muy limpio, un servicio horrible si estás comiendo / bebiendo, ya que todo el personal se concentra en el camino y esperas por mucho tiempo mientras la cola del auto baja. Me dieron 5 tostadas de queso (enteras, sin cortar) y pedí un cuchillo para poder cortarlo por la mitad. No hay cuchillo disponible, me ofrecieron un tenedor o una cuchara. . . . . . ¿De Verdad? ? ? ? ¿Con una tostada de queso fundido caliente? A uno de madera le iría bien si hay una política de no tener cuchillos en caso de que alguien use uno real para apuñalarlo. La mayoría de los cuchillos son bastante romos de todos modos en lugares como este, así que dudo que sea un problema, pero ¿en Cockermouth? ? ? ? ?De todos modos, a menos que estés realmente desesperado, no te molestes. O pruebe el recorrido y espere hasta que su tostada esté fría y luego puede masticarlo entero.

I had the misfortune to need a place to wait and for convenience chose the Starbucks next to the Oakhurst garage on the edge of Cockermouth. I ordered a coffee to drink in at the counter, gave my name when asked and told to take a seat and wait to be called. The tables and floors were dirty with food remnants, but I did as requested and took a seat near the window. I could see the counter from my seat but didn't get a call for my drink. After 10 /15 minutes I noticed that some others who had arrived after me had been served drinks, so I went and enquired. My coffee had been left on the counter, and I was told that "they didn't know where I was sitting". Well it's not rocket science. I was the only person sitting on their own of the five occupied tables. I was the only person who didn't have any product on the table in front of them. But still the staff could not tell that it was I who was waiting for that drink. Poor service and poor excuse.I also had problems using the WiFi, and on visiting the toilet, the hand dryer was not working.Fortunately I will not need to visit this place in the future.

The quality of food and drink is as would be expected. No surprises. Unfortunately there never appears to be enough staff on to keep the place clean and tidy. This in no way is a criticism of those that work there.

I now try to guess which is going to be quicker than Slow...Drive through or Park up and Go and queue...While the food snacks are always of a standard the pace in which you are served is based on numbers of orders.... the bigger the queue the more orders the slower we go...???Guys - you need to step up ... this is probably (Possibly) the slowest service Starbucks Nationwide if not Pan Europe... or dare I say further...I now only use if I am killing time ...!!! Sad really...

He estado en Starbucks en todo el mundo y soy local de la zona en la que se encuentra este Starbucks, por lo que estoy tan feliz de que esté aquí. ! Este Starbucks es espacioso y está muy bien decorado, también es mucho más limpio que muchos otros Starbucks en los que he estado. Nunca he tenido una mala experiencia en este Starbucks y las hermosas vistas desde la ventana hacen que la experiencia sea aún mejor.

Me encantan las bebidas y la comida de Starbucks, pero me decepcionó mucho el servicio muy lento y la entrega de nuestras dos bebidas y pasteles. Había cinco miembros del personal y menos de diez clientes dentro de la unidad y dos en la unidad. ¡Nos llevó más de diez minutos conseguir nuestras bebidas!

Este puede ser el primero para mí, revisando un Starbucks del Reino Unido. Sin embargo, me sentí obligado después de esperar por una bebida dentro del establecimiento mientras se atendía una serie de visitas a través de los clientes. Por suerte, la miseria ama a la compañía y la persona que está delante y detrás de mí sufrió un destino similar.Claro, este es un problema del primer mundo, pero la política de servir a 3 o más vehículos por delante de los clientes internos no es agradable.

Staff are always really friendly and chatty and always happy to help. It's really handy having a meeting place in Cockermouth in the evenings and Sunday's. Cakes and drinks are always delicious.

Mientras viajaba con mis amigos, decidimos hacer una parada para un Starbucks en nuestro camino, estaba muy emocionado de visitar este Starbucks en particular, ya que nunca lo había hecho y generalmente lo disfrutaba. Sin embargo, me decepcionó mucho, pedí junto con otros 3 un Frappachino de caramelo sin café o crema, después de 15 minutos de espera finalmente obtuve mi bebida, la cual estaba deseando ya que me costó 4: 50. La bebida fue una gran decepción, estoy casi seguro de que no tenía sabor a caramelo, ¡en su lugar solo sabía a crema! Me quejé de quien parecía estar a cargo, una chica irlandesa que no me ayudó mucho y me dijo que no había nada que pudiera hacer. De hecho, tiré esta bebida en particular en el contenedor, y todos los demás quedaron muy decepcionados debido a que la bebida no tenía sabor, nunca volveré, volveré a Costa en lugar de poner una cantidad decente de caramelo. Fue horrible. , un gran desastre!

I have visited and supported this new Starbucks since its opening over a year ago, but as of late the standard of cleanliness as dropped to purely shocking levels the tables when cleared are purely filthy and on almost every ocassion even when i was the only one waiting to be served i still had to wait for service. but the real shocking thing that happened to me in this restaurant as made me never want to set foot in the place again. This Starbucks as become dog friendly two weeks ago on my final visit to the restaurant a man came in with a large dog who eat my cinnamon swirl and licked my coffee mug the staff did nothing to retify this and as a result i have never visited the site again.

Stayed in the hotel over the road, came here for breakfast it was nice coffee and the food was average. Staff were friendly, so it was a nice little pit stop before heading into the lakes.

Called in at 6am for a breakfast bite. Great choice of breakfast food and coffee, quick service and nice environment to sit.

This is not one of the better Starbucks I have ever been in. I will return though, mainly because of the product. The staff have always been ok and the service is good. The thing that lets this place down is the empty cups and plates that sit on the tables for some time before they are cleared. I can appreciate that working in a busy coffee shop has it's challenges but if you want the business then people need somewhere to sit and a clear table to place their coffee on. The times I've had to clear a table before I sit down. Please can this be sorted out, it's not pleasant. Other than this, this is a nice place to visit.

I visited here at 3.45 on a Sunday and the lack of service was truly abysmal. I was stood waiting for 3 coffees for 40 minutes AFTER I'd paid for them, staff looked uninterested even though I told them how long I'd been waiting and they didn't even apologise for the wait, worst service I've ever had in any coffee shop. Avoid this place like the plague!

Called in after a walk, ordered drinks and then noticed prices were more than your High street cafes, no difference only noticed no highchairs for young children, toilet very small, on the whole not worth nearly £10 go two coffees

I last visited around a year ago, I call in on the way to viviting my family in the lakes. Recently, on a weekend, I called in with my husband and young daughter for a drink & quick bite to eat. I can say the atmosphere has improved massively in here since my last visit! My family, who are regular visitors, say that they have a lot of new staff & it is has really improved their visits too. I found the lady at the till (sorry I didn't get her name, dark hair) was brilliant with my daughter, she was playing peek-a-bye from behind the till with her so a big thumbs up from my daughter. She took our hot food order and even helped me decide which of the tea lattes to go for (Apple Rooboys?) Was delicious!and reccomended the raspberry muffin to go with my latte, thumbs up from me! My husband collected our order when called but as we had a few things the girl making the coffees (blonde hair) was very quick and polite but said she would have someone bring the rest over for us, happy husband, thumbs up again! All staff were happy, smiling & made sure we felt the same. The girl who came out to collect our plates (dark hair, glasses)was very polite and even popped back to get me some more napkins as my daughter (8 month) had gotten herself in a bit of a mess, thumbs up again. The only downpoint I could see was that when they had an influx of customers in the shop and at their drive through, you could tell they were understaffed, but again you could see they were moving at a 100mph to try and keep everyone happy.

We come every Sunday, my son insists! Every week the tables are dirty, the chairs are full of crumbs and the floor is filthy, it is particularly bad today. Staff are friendly however they could think about cleaning the place rather than chatting.

Great little coffee shop with good views of fells.

I have used the drive through on a few occasions now, the service has been very polite and as a drive through quick to take my order, however the wait from my order, to actually getting my drink on the odd occasion has been ridiculous.

A few months ago a wrote a positivie review for this place but then now I have to say, after my experience yesterday, how downhill this place has gone.

Buy coffee capsules and powder here and the dates are poor (and more expensive than other branches). Via sachets often have less than a month remaining

this is a nice place to go for coffee and a cake etc chat with friends , but the tables are never cleared and the floor is always dirty while the staff chat to each other and don't clear the cafe up after people leave , its a shame as its nice there and the coffee is good .

The price isn't this specific branch's fault as Starbucks is a chain so we will leave that out.

Attended with the better half. A nice coffee and cake in a new build shop, and nice location. However, there was 7 out of 20 tables occupied, with either 1 or 2 people - so not really busy. There was cups and plates littered everywhere, tables needed cleaned, floor needed swept, chairs needed vacuumed and wiped. Staff are more interested in talking to each other and adjusting their hair styles. The cafe needs the oversight of a manager, who can ensure compliance with cleaning and table turn around for new customers coming in.

Use this lots for work. Coffee is always good. Lovely and clean inside. Drive thru is amazing if in a hurry. It's just like all Starbucks I suppose.... but that's no criticism! I will be back. Convenient as next to petrol station too!!

Great location, ample free parking, clean and an awesome staff team ..ok, I have my favourites, Brandon and Lindsay who both make a great coffee ....friendly, great place to visit alone or with friends ..excellent free wi- if ...I'm a regular ..

Good location, prompt service and, as its a new site, still looking spick & span. Coffee good, staff friendly and keen to be sure you're happy with the service.

I usually like to pop into Starbucks every now and again as it's handy being just off the A66 and parking is great, especially with a baby.

Used Starbucks very frequently over December and January and it was excellent. Drinks beautiful and service great. Went out their way to ensure I was well looked after.

If your looking for Luke warm coffee and poor service please feel free to visit this establishment. Sick of asking for hot coffee hot ....as in not warm. Told can't heat coffee any hotter it burns the milk lol yep that would be right. Visit muffin Break in Workington they do hot coffee without burning milk...hilarious staff and customer service guaranteed at Starbucks Cockermouth.

Well we visited here three times since Saturday. My husband and I on Saturday on our way back from Keswick. The drinks and cakes were lovely the staff lively and polite, the floors were appalling full of food, sticky with spilt drinks, and tables you had to clear yourself not really amazing.

Having never been to a Starbucks before I didn’t know what to expect. The café is nice and spacious with plenty of tables and chairs. I ordered a hot chocolate and a cookie. The service was ok, but I felt they were just going through the motions and weren’t really interested in what they were doing. The drink was made up really quickly and was nice and hot. The cookie was lovely. The prices were reasonable, but more than what you’d pay in an independent coffee shop.

Great coffee and breakfast buns sometimes not enough staff when it's busy but usually it doesn't take to long the drive by seems to be busy and that sometimes takes away the staff as they are on a stopwatch for this service But so glad to have Starbucks in Cockermouth
