Guy taking order was very pleasant, unfortunately couldnt say the same for the lady making the orders. She didnt call us when our order was ready.. Despite taking our name when ordering. eventually we went back to the counter and asked where our order was, the lady just pointed and said "There".. We then had to ask for milk and was abruptly asked "Which do you want?" My wife said full fat please and was abruptly given a 4 pint bottle of Milk. Once seated we found our tea to be warm, obviously due to stand on the counter so long due to lady preparing the order not calling us.. What is the point in taking our name if she isnt going to call us when its ready..! Needless to say we left half empty cups due to tea going cold before we could drink it. Also the whole seating area was very messy nobody clearing tables and lots of mess on the floor. Needless to say we wont be going back to starbucks Oracle Reading.

We went to Starbucks Riverside in Reading for a spice pumpkin latte literally about an hour ago at approx. 19.30. When we got inside there was only one lone barista working on the tills and making coffee on her own and although the drink was amazing she was struggling a lot. There were quite a few people inside. I find it ridiculous that she was left on her own on a busy night and she looked like she was about to cry. The stress was written all over her face even though she was professional. Her hands were shacking and she did not look alright in herself. I myself work in customer service and to treat employees like this is unacceptable and cruel. Starbucks you should be ashamed of yourself for letting employees struggle on their own. I don't know how much you're paying your staff but it's not enough. Do better in the future. You lost a customer tonight

I have become addicted to coffee from here. I only used to drink it rarely but now must while away a few hours a week in secret in here with my muffin and latte. Oh dear.

I'd just like to thank the Starbucks team for not only putting aside my gloves I left there, but also for sending them onto my home address and including a delicious biscuit inside. That's above and beyond. I'm most grateful. What a kind and thoughtful Team. AC.

Gracias

Stood at the till with 2 others waiting to order with team members behind the counter looking at you without any form of acknowledgment. Ended up walking out as it was clear that I wasn’t going to get served anytime soon. The pop up Starbucks inside the Oracle was the complete opposite.

In my opinion the coffee is very good and is so much better than instant. Can you get better coffee, only in Italy is the answer. Great Americano coffee.

It's far too predictable and easy to rag on Starbucks these days, but don't let that kid you into thinking their coffee is anything but sub-standard. When Tamp Culture and Workhouse Coffee are within a few minutes' walk, getting a coffee from Starbucks is just silly. Sure, I've had worse coffee, much worse, but rarely from a dedicated coffee shop. I almost think maybe they make their coffee deliberately fairly poor to trick you into thinking that's what coffee always tastes like, that you don't really like it, and that therefore you'll have to buy coffee with six gallons of milk, sugar, syrups, and cream lobbed into it in order to enjoy it and, hey presto, that's what Starbucks are good at. If you genuinely don't really like regular coffee but love a triple whip extra soy hazelnut mocha with double sprinkles and a superfood cleansing boost injection then fine, obviously go to Starbucks. Those coffee-based drinks can be quite nice on occasion and, though I think Costa do most of them better, Starbucks is a fine choice. But I, for ages, really thought that this was the only type of coffee for me, because I'd tried Starbucks' more regular coffees and found them utterly revolting, so just believed I didn't really like coffee. This strikes me as a rather cruel and unfair trick to play. It's like a beer specialist producing a really horrible cider to convince people they hate cider and thus only bother with beer. So, I implore you, if you've tried Starbucks' regular coffee and think it's sort of okay, then please, please make the trip to Workhouse and try something ten times better and, if you've tried Starbucks' regular coffee and hated it, before you turn straight back to your word salad order, also walk over to Workhouse and let someone who can really make regular coffee make you something. Maybe you still hate it, and that's cool, pop back to Starbucks and enjoy, but maybe, like me, you'll find you'd been being decieved by Starbucks for years and that actually, regular, unadulterated coffee is one of the greatest things on this planet, just not if you buy it in Starbucks. So Starbucks gets a three stars. It's coffee+++ options are pretty good (though I do think Costa has the edge), but offering people regular coffee of this low quality is either just poor quality roasting, grinding, and brewing through a lack of bothering, or a cynical deliberate ploy to shock people back to the coffee+++ and keep them away from coffee houses that do regular coffee really well. Also their cold brew is terrible. Just absolutely terrible. Cold brew coffee is one the greatest summer beverages going, but Starbucks' offering is just dire. Costa do a really great cold brew - yet another reason to go there instead.

The staff are ok, not rude but not friendly. The place was a mess, cups everywhere and looked dirty. My coffee was ok, although I asked for a single shot and got a double shot so it was too strong for me. I’m hoping that it was just because it was New Years Day that everything appeared so poor.

So far, most visits to Starbucks in Reading (two of them I've visited) result in poor service, smaller selection, and drinks not as fresh as starbucks stores in the U.S. Better to visit Cafe Nero or Workhouse.

Nice, big and bright Starbucks. Good quick service and clean seating area. This Starbucks accepts Vitality Rewards vouchers. I often grab a coffee to take into the cinema next door with me

Plenty of bright and airy indoor seating available plus it's next door to The Vue Cinema so you can take a hot coffee in to your film. Starbucks card accepted and Starbucks Rewards can be claimed here. Good selection of sandwiches, cakes and drinks available from this Starbucks. I experienced good knowledgeable staff on my visit.

Pierre's is a sandwich bar, really, rather than a cafe as such. Great selection of sandwiches, wraps, baguettes, and baked potatoes listed on the boards, and they cook their own baguettes in an oven right in front of you. However, as I said, it's not really a cafe. I stare up at the boards. I'm in the mood for a baked potato - with chilli, preferably. That's not on the menu, but I spot three Christmas specials pasted up onto the baked potato list. Turkey, stuffing and ham etc. So, I enquire if they are fills for baked potatoes. "Well, you can have anything you want in a baked potato", says the young lady behind the counter. "You can choose from anything on the menu and we can put it in a potato, but it might cost a bit extra." She's late twenties, dyed blonde hair, heavy makeup, and a strongish eastern European accent. She's trying to be helpful, I know. But I'm lazy. I don't want to have to design my lunch from scratch, though I know a lot of people do and it's what sandwich bars pride themselves for. I'm also slightly confused what the Christmas specials might look like (a mini dinner?, a sandwich filling?). So, not wanting to create a fuss, I panic and go for the lowest common denominator: a bacon baguette, packet of crisps and an orange juice – to eat in. It's nice enough, but maybe a bit steep at £6.50. I finish it quickly, not because it's particularly tasty but because the door's wide open, it's mid-December, and I've got my coat and scarf on. And the ambience is business-like rather than relaxing and inviting. A gentle stream of new customers enter and order, and some sit down to eat, like me. Behind the counter, apart from the blonde young lady there are two big blokes, also in their twenties. They're wearing aprons so must be serving staff, but they just seem to be hanging around not doing much. They all give the air of being temporary staff and that sandwich-making is not the first love of their lives. Cheerful enough, but not wonderfully friendly. I get up to leave. On my way out I call "Thanks", trying to catch someone's eye, hoping someone might smile back at me. I'm invisible. Nobody seems the least interested. I might be back for a sandwich some day. Not sure I'll be back for a sit-down. But then, it is really just a sandwich bar rather than a cafe, after all.

Poor quality and service, £3.70 for a SMALL black Americano (ie no milk or skill required) should be amazing but far from it. Just a plain old Starbucks coffee. Served with monosyllabic generally grumpy lady who sadly doesn’t enjoy her job - my advice, go to Costa!
