Starbucks in Cardiff

I placed an online order at 8:19 and arrived at 8:38 to collect it, but it still wasn’t ready. I had to leave for work at 8:45. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Other customers who ordered after me received their orders first. This morning, I had to leave without my 3 drinks, which I paid for, because I was late for work, despite placing the order 20 minutes before collection. I expected better service, especially as I am a regular customer , they also did wrong receips of the drink on me sometimes but this wasnt improve and worse service that i have ever had .

Came to Cardiff for the day to visit. Walked passed this Starbucks so I thought I would go in for a drink. My order was wrong. The price up on the screen was cheaper than what I was charged. I then go upstairs to sit and it’s like walking into the tv program “ The office”. I was expecting David Brent to come walking out! Laughable. Chairs very uncomfortable, space very unwelcoming, and lots of people working, having meetings. It wasn’t relaxing at all. Very dirty also. This will be the first and last time I’ll be visiting here. Very disappointed for such a big name like Starbucks! Absolutely Disgraceful.

£5.5 for literally a glass of ice ( supposed to be dragon coconut drink). Such a ripp off as they filled the whole glass with ice and no drink

just recieved a too good to go bag, waited an hour an a half for it hopeing we would get some good bits , we got four of the same items. not impressed

Very rude barista lady, unaccepting of order of a dirty chai latte stating they can only do a normal chai and cannot add in an espresso shot which has not been my experience in any other Starbucks stores, and was happy to lose my custom today. Very disappointing,discourteous and unhelpful. Not a good employee for any worthwhile business. Too concerned about being seen as 'LGBTQ+ friendly' that they are marginalising everyone else. Extremely poor customer service.

When ordering I requested an iced white mocha and a pain au chocolate. After standing and waiting for 10 minutes for the girl to give me my pain au chocolate, she walked off. Then my name was called out for my drink, I went to collected and asked the man for my food and he told me it's not his problem and to ask the other girl who walked away. Disgraceful service. At that point the line was nearly out the door and I had other places to be. Disgraceful service. Never coming back again.

Felt like the Barista who served me was pretty rude, I misheard what was said; asked for it to be repeated nicely as I didn’t hear correctly. She then continued to say ‘if you go to another Starbucks, they will say no next time or charge you extra’ - this was before I even purchased my order. The Barista then made my beverage incorrect to what I’d ordered. I didn’t want to correct my order as I felt uncomfortable to do so. I’ve never had an issue with Barista’s in this Starbucks before but this made me feel really uncomfortable.

Upstairs closes early. Always say they are short staff. Only starbucks in Cardiff area to say such a thing. Always giving people (and charging) disposable cups so not environmentally friendly. Most of the toilets are closed. Poor management.

very disappointed with this visit, as soon as i walked in the shop a comment was made which was “who has frappuccino in the rain” stated by (Lauren) and in response (Jazz) said “weird people” which not one shocked me but two offended me! since a cookies and creme Frappuccino is my order! (Jazz’s) attitude towards me was not acceptable and she was muttering under her breath. when my drink came it was bland and had no taste, so i asked for a new one, which made (Jazz) huff and puff and moan to (Lauren) saying how she ‘made it right it’s just her’ it wasn’t a very pleasant atmosphere, after my drink was made it was better thank goodness, but overall im very dissatisfied. do not recommend.

The person that served me seemed new and instead of an oat milk latte, he put my order through as a semi skimmed milk latte, I didn't notice until I'd drank a few sips. I can't have dairy and this issue caused me a lot of pain. Very disappointed. Will not order from that server again.

Enjoyable coffee, but rather slow service. Staff seem to like charging for paper cups,even when people are drinking in. Probably to avoid washing up. Starbucks pride themselves on being ethical, buy need to ditch unnecessary use of paper cups, when not required. Large uncrowded upstairs area.

Called in for a coffee Tuesday 6th March whilst shopping and I have got to say the most dingy Starbucks I have ever been in. It was painted grey and unpleasing the floors were dirty. We were tired after shopping and ordered our coffee sat down on a dirty chair and when my wife came back the coffee was in paper cups. There were china cups on the counter where the lad was serving and on the far end of the bar was as I discovered the other server sat looking at her phone it was only after a large queue had formed she decided to join in. I love starbucks but this place needs a revamp. We left leaving our drinks and found a cleaner establishment. Never again.

Ordered 3 sandwiches and 3 drinks, at same time. All came separately! Tasteless. Couldn't tell you which was which. White Choc latte, was just hot milk with cream. Urgh!

Awful place. Obviously understaffed. Downstairs toilet was broken so I had to climb six flights of stairs ( not easy when 3 months post open heart surgery) only to find the toilets require an access code. My mocha was tepid, no spoons or stirrers available. My daughter's frappe was incomplete. Needless to say I will not return.

Not the best Bucks. Service often provided by the ubiquitous ill mannered teen that thinks society owes them.

Starbucks is one of those places that to me signal not work not home, an in-between space. I like the store has big seating area upstairs making what seems a small crowded shop into somewhere you can sit and relax. Good variety of cakes etc and coffee types as well as offering tea etc. Staff were friendly and prompt with service, making it easy to get ordering done. Quite a lot of stairs to manage to get to seating area but seem to remember there being a lift. It's as accessable as you can make an older building. Disabled toilet, no steeps on entry. Tight space in queues though that's a pretty standard thing.

One reason this Starbucks would be worth visiting is the statue of the NHS founder right outside.

Disappointed with the visit today. Standing in the queue like a lemon whilst one member of staff was dealing with some riff-raff had burst into the store and was holding the queue up. Two other staff standing just doing nothing. No apology to me for the very long wait after issue had been sorted.

Coffee wasn't great but the worst part was that we asked to sit in, but after going upstairs, we realised it's full of people doing "work" and there was absolutely nowhere to sit. Too many Macbooks taking up tables, decided it's the second and last time I ever visit a Starbucks.

We wanted to sit in with my coffee, however staff allowed a random stranger to hassle me whilst I was at the tills to buy them a drink. This person the became abusive when I wouldn't buy them a drink, so I left. Whilst I understand its not the fault of the staff, I felt the staff should have helped me here. This isn't the way to look after your customers!

I was served by a extremely nice and cute barista called kieran, absolutely amazing experience, he felt like a father to me.

Don't come in here if you are in a rush, the slowest service I have ever seen in a Starbucks!

Thank you for making drip coffee! I have been all over England with absolutely no drip at any Starbucks. The closest I could get was a americano. Which is NOT the same. Thank you for finally having my coffee. I should be able to walk in any Starbucks around the world and get the drink I love which yes, is so simple, drip Pike coffee with light cream. Being I’m from Seattle this is huge. Ty 🙏

I do not think I have reviewed a Starbucks but felt it necessary to state how friendly the staff is, how clean the inside and how inviting an environment. Different treats here to the US and the staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you!

Starbucks is Starbucks! Not having my coffee in there usually but I bought a very very tasty ice coffee in there on a hot day and it just hit all the right spots as far as coffee go😜

Quite busy, what I wanted was not in stock, it would have been helpful to had been given alternative suggestions but I was not, the menu was quite hard to see a suitable alternative.

Today when I was working in my laptop The barista with purple hair approached me and told the branch will close in 15 minutes 6PM. And I took my stuff and left to other coffee shop 2 hours later I passed by and the store still open!!!!! Please just explain to me he asked me to leave ??!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bit overpriced for the dirty experience of the dinning area... An extra staff cleaning will invite me to come back frecuently... It always push me to have my drink somewhere else.

In here at 12:30 on a Thursday, not exactly the busiest Starbucks I've ever visited.

Uninspiring place. Tables left full of empty mugs, plates etc. No cleaning done despite Covid! Many customers walking around without face coverings on despite being in their hands!!!!!

Went in there a couple times since I’ve been in Cardiff and just recently went in. Service was great and coffee didn’t take long to make. Any queue was dealt with efficiently. Was surprised that the upstairs was closed yet again, so me and my friend had to leave and find somewhere else to chat. Unsure why this is since the space would be great for socialising. Also was told abruptly at the till that it would be closing in an hour (we got there at 2pm on a Tuesday). Wish there had been an updated notice perhaps prior. Nevertheless, the drink was yum and it (luckily) was a sunny day so we could find somewhere else to sit :)

What a horrible experience. Nice girl on the door to greet people, nice guy to take the orders and......and there the good stuff ends. Waited well over 10 minutes to get my drink, two people making drinks, one a trainee. The other was on the phone for over 5 minutes so no drinks made. People who came in after me got their drinks before me then this rude woman plonked a drink in front of me, didn't even look at me let alone bother to talk to me. Left feeling a bit put out but at least I had my drink. Whilst walking along, I felt burning on my hands and realised the cup was leaking. I carefully opened the cup to find that the extremely hot water was right up to the rim of the cup - no wonder it leaked. Then realised that there was a tea bag in the cup. I had ordered an Americano!! I had to be back at court by 2pm or I would have gone back to complain. So - rude server, long wait, people served out of turn, wrong drink, hot water way to high in the cup causing me to burn my hands, drink put in the bin. And I paid £2.80 for the pleasure. Never never again will I go to Starbucks. And this woman was training someone??!!

Starbucks is starbucks but what makes this location special is the happy staff and the upstairs is so peaceful after a long day of shopping

Drinks were hot, Staff at counter pleasant enough. Thats pretty much all the positive. Unfortunately not enough signage on the floor or at the entrance/exit as to where you are supposed to stand and wait even though we were told there is! Every person who entered, or tried to enter (some walked away after being told that they must stay away from the doorway) did something wrong, stood too close to door, waited in the wrong place etc etc. We won't be returning.

Nice to be back for a strong espresso after 14 months. Strong Covid-secure arrangements with good social distancing. It felt like a really relaxed experience.

I lost my phone in this Starbucks and went in after and spoke to two ladies who had kept it safe for me! They were amazing and made me a delicious chai latte, really lovely people I am so grateful!!

Very rude and very annoying 😒 I am from London visiting Cardiff with my wife and daughter also my son with his wife and daughter. My son queued and ladies have taken seat one of the staff came and told him they are not allowed to sit now you should order first then they can sit he said okay no problem then very rude way she said and you cant sit as family and you cant add any chair so i felt i have to leave we are not welcome. We are Starbucks customers and we feel that we been treated very badly and this lady 👩 must change her attitude towards customers. Thank you

Would like to say a huge thank you to Staff & Manager today. My daughter who is Type 1 diabetic took insulin for a Caramel Frappuchino, unknown to us the queue was long & I began worrying that if she didn't have her drink soon she would have had a hypo. I approached the young man & explained the situation, he said he'd speak to the manager, we stayed in queue whilst he prepared her drink if I would stay & pay later, of course yes I agreed. The young man came out with her drink & said it was on them. Ever so grateful, can't thank you enough x

I wasn't very happy that u only had to use takeaway cups when u were sitting inside u should have been able to have proper cups or if u had to use takeaway cups u should have not been charged the same price and they only had 5 small table's 2 at the front and 3 on the side and also you had to pay with card not many people carry cards with them they like to pay with cash

The McDonald's of coffee shops. Nothing spectacular but at least you know what you're getting most of the time. In Spain they tend to use uht milk which taints the flavour of the coffee.

The team here is amazing and personal. It's always nice when they remember your name and always try to go above and beyond to make it special.

8 minutes wait for double espresso, no name called and when i asked where is my coffee got lost, i ve been given attitude. Not an experience you want to have straight in the morning.

Lo sentimos, pero como ex barista, siempre se nos enseña a actuar al menos como los clientes nos importan. Nunca recibo ninguna amabilidad en este lugar en los tiempos que he venido. Me hicieron pagar por los errores de su parte, fueron completamente groseros conmigo y con mis amigos cuando solía ordenar y obtener leche no láctea, además la mujer que lo dirige me olvidó por completo a pesar de que ella me entrenó. ¿Qué tipo de servicio al cliente es ese?

La tienda celebraba el 'Día Internacional del Café' y ofrecía sesiones gratuitas de degustación de café. Connor, uno de los maestros del café, nos ofreció una presentación realmente interesante e informativa, que no solo preparó el café filtrado sino que también nos enseñó sobre las diferentes regiones cafeteras del mundo. ¡Gracias Connor y sus colegas por su excelente servicio amable! Volveremos la próxima vez que visitemos! ¡Ah, y los cafés Latte y Iced Caramel estaban deliciosos!

My wife and I visited Starbucks, Queen Street yesterday with our grandaughter who has just started at Cardiff University. We had a lovely time there. The store was celebrating 'International Coffee Day', and was offering free coffee tasting sessions. We were treated to a really interesting and informative presentation by Connor, one of the Coffee Masters, who not only prepared the filtered coffee but also taught us about the different coffee regions in the world, and the qualities of different types of beans. Thank you Connor and your colleagues for your excellent friendly service! We shall be back next time we visit! Oh, and the Latte and Iced Caramel Coffees were delicious!

Typical Starbucks, worth a look

I was served by Connor, who was quite rude during service and rolled his eyes at me quite frequently. Being a barista myself I understand how tedious the job may feel, especially towards the days end, but I must say that this quite upset me. That being said, the drinks were as expected and every other worker on bar were an absolute joy!

Delightful staff and excellent coffee

Teníamos un frappaccino de fresa y un chocolate caliente. ambos eran muy sabrosos y llenaron el lugar. El servicio fue excelente, el personal educado y amable, el restaurante estaba limpio y la comida en las pantallas estaba bien presentada con mucha variedad. Hay mesas y sillas adentro y afuera. Vale la pena una visita si estás en la zona.
