This year's Fenlanders rally was held here. The space is lovely, the staff friendly, efficient and hard working and food and drink is excellent and really good value. Thoroughly recommend for a short visit or event.

Our group had three visits here, whilst we were staying in Redgrave. Bacon butties, beer and coffee all excellent. Now I didn't have the pleasure of eating there over and above the sarnies, but having spoken to the [new-ish] chef I can surmise that the offering will be excellent. He was making flat-breads from scratch when we visited and they looked fantastic.

We bobbed into Star Wing yesterday with friends on an impulse. What a fabulous discovery. Beer - was fresh, crisp, beautifully bitter and served at the correct temperature for ale - NOT chilled to South Pole° Sandwiches - freshly made in view of us with Mick's Bakery bread (also in same building, also excellent). Certainly in the top 3 sandwiches I've ever had out. Fresh salad, a few crisps to garnish and wonderful fillings. Service - friendly & efficient. We'll certainly be visiting when we're in the area again.

We popped in after seeing a sign for Mick the Baker early one morning and Mick certainly lives up to his name, he had a amazing range of fresh just baked bread and a really good selection of cakes. He was very friendly to talk to and gave us some good tips on places to visit in the area. The sourdough bread and carrot cake was fantastic and we will be returning before the end of our trip to Redgrave/Suffolk.

This place was a bright spot in a gloomy year that was last year. It was spotlessly clean, amazing food, well run and the staff were really helpful...... Wind on one year and it is shabby and poorly run. I have given it a good go, but won't go back. I took my grandchildren there a several weeks ago and there was broken hay bails strewn all over the place with mice running around. They have built a new wooden area close to the brewery cafe. I called in one Saturday morning on the off chance and seemingly they'd had an event on the night before as no clearing up had been done, under the outdoor bar area there where plastics bags of unused bread rolls. It doesn't seem like the same place, I can't understand what has happened, it's almost as if they are under new management, but I'm not aware they are. I've visited May and June It's such a shame, I really enjoyed going there last year, I've given it a few goes and if I could I would have awarded it no stars.

It was a pleasant surprise to find they had a marquee erected and straw bales to sit on. We supped a half pint of Spire Light and Four Acre Arcadia whilst watching the dogs have fun in the puppy pool.

Spent a lovely afternoon, the brewery has Covid sussed with tables in a marquee, in the woods, in the fields. Lots of space. Beer good, Mick’s cakes the best, try his eccles cakes....

Starwing is a short drive and a medium walk from where I live and is a real favourite with my partner and I and lots of other locals. A great new venue that is providing lots of great events for everyone. On a day-to-day level you can go along and enjoy the most wonderful beers brewed by Starwing themselves. If that is not your thing then don't worry they have a full bar. From Wednesday to Sunday they provide light bites. Friday night is curry night. And Mick the Baker provides bread and pastries baked on the premises (see website for timings). Starwing are also brilliant at events. Oktoberfest was brilliant. Shakesbeer fabulous and I highly recommend it - lots of other events available (check the Facebook page). This is a venue in the middle of the countryside but you could be in a trendy Camden venue. Cake and eat it (with beer).

Walking in to a throng of lively people, lovely warmth from the log burner and an instant atmosphere, we had a lovely light lunch here and enjoyed a couple of pints of Starwing's excellent 'Gospel Oak', today. The owners are doing a fabulous job here on this hop farm. They have converted a barn into a beautifully designed Tap Room (with bakery), serving wonderful self-brewed beer; they are extending the hop farm to become (I presume) self sufficient; there are lovely views across Cardinal Wolsey's old church and the beautiful Suffolk countryside...and they even have an amphitheatre-style outdoor performance space, thus diversifying and creating a successful destination business, a boon to the local area. Well done to the owners and their team, We thoroughly recommend a visit and wish so much that we lived just a bit closer to this Tap Room. I would happily sit in front of that log burner and drink Starwing's Gospel Oak all afternoon!

I think some more up-to-date photos would help. These pictures are from when The Angel was in the High St. They are now in the Civic Centre The breakfast is still as good as ever. The service and welcome are good and the food is still excellent Only one slight moan and that would be the price of a cup of coffee: £3.50 for a small cup is too expensive

Incredibly long time to get fish and chips on a Saturday evening. Nearly 30 mins, must have been 15 people standing around in the cold awaiting their orders. Took food home to eat and fish batter was soggy and greasy and chips very greasy too. Will find somewhere else.

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.
