The food is good but the staff are not friendly. They need to work on their customer service.

Brilliant pub, the food is flavoursome and great portions with spot on presentation. The staff are friendly, polite, welcoming, such a great pub. There is a pub side which is more for drinking then pool table separate which is nice to have then a two part restaurant also very nice inside. 100% recommend, excellent pub. Lovely place to stay in the self contained apartments at the back.

Recently stayed here overnight and it was a delightful experience. The room was cosy and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing nights stay. The breakfast was well-prepared and well-presented. Would highly recommend!

Really lovely pub meal, food is excellent. Not so keen on the decor, could do with a style makeover, and it would then be a superb gastropub.

Good stay and a nice breakfast. Only negative too many LEDs in the room!

Welcomed by Darren who showed me to my room. It was a good find on trip advisor and glad I booked it. A couple of others also then booked as we were going to a party nearby. The price is well worth it, despite my comments about the dust! A lovely stay if you are in that area of the country.

We went to the pub for birthday celebrations and we were definitely not disappointed - the food was delicious, all the staff so friendly and the area both inside and out is beautiful. We will be back to try some more dishes and relax in the lovely garden 😊

I wouldn’t bother. We went there and they said if you haven’t booked we are not accepting walk ins. The place was empty!

The food at the Bull in Woolpit, is very good, reasonably priced and does/will cater for allergens. Pictures below show dairy free roast beef (yes the Yorkshire pudding is DF but they can't always be guaranteed to have them). The puddings looked scrummy: I was too full! We didn't stay so I can't comment on the accommodation. Likewise, didn't use the lavatory, so can't comment on them: I have no doubt, however, they would have been clean. There's parking, including disabled and the restaurant is also disabled friendly. I would suggest, however, you mention, when booking, if one of your party is disabled, purely so you get one of the 'easier to get to' tables. If travelling there's close, easy access to the A14. Certainly worth a visit and would recommend you try it.

June 2024 Went with same friends as before and had an enjoyable meal again. Upped the rating to 5 stars for a good local business. Feb 2023 Went with 3 friends for a meal out. Very tasty food. Great service, very helpful and proactive. I just don't like the tables. They make the place look more "cafe-like" rather than quality restaurant. Everything else is quality restaurant.

Excellent meal and extremely helpful staff. My friend and I booked a table for 7pm, unfortunately she became horribly lost and didn’t arrive until 8:10pm. Our waitress, Beth was amazing, she waited until beyond last meal order to take our order and Tom, the chef sent the meal out just as my friend arrived, fresh and piping hot. He even waited for us for dessert despite the kitchen technically being closed. Both Beth & Tom went above & beyond, they were amazing. Will definitely be making a return trip.

Recently enjoyed a fantastic roast at The Bull Inn located in Woolpit. The veg was very tasty, both loved the gratin that came as a side and I was given plenty of meat. We will be returning soon when the sun arrives to enjoy the beer garden areas!

I can't speak to the rooms or staying at the bull inn, but as a pub and restaurant it's definitely a hidden gem in Woolpit. Solid drinks and awesome food, though it's a bit more pricey and posh than the typical pub food. The only big suggestion is to check the food menu online if you're after something in particular as the menus rotate out seasonally.

We had a family meal here yesterday (10.2.24) special birthday celebration. The service was exceptional as so was the food. We were looked after by wonderful staff, who were friendly and helpful. Everyone said how good their meal was.It was well presented . We sat at a long table and didn't feel cramped in by other guests. Thank you to all the staff

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.

Our family and friends have been going to the Curry Inn for decades, we love it for their amazing service and their secret weapon. . The chicken Sheraji! Give it a try.

I think some more up-to-date photos would help. These pictures are from when The Angel was in the High St. They are now in the Civic Centre The breakfast is still as good as ever. The service and welcome are good and the food is still excellent Only one slight moan and that would be the price of a cup of coffee: £3.50 for a small cup is too expensive

Incredibly long time to get fish and chips on a Saturday evening. Nearly 30 mins, must have been 15 people standing around in the cold awaiting their orders. Took food home to eat and fish batter was soggy and greasy and chips very greasy too. Will find somewhere else.
