Great small family run take away / restaurant. Don't expect the food to be ready in 10 minutes as everything is done fresh so yes it does take time. But definitely worth it.

Served me a cold aloo paratha which is supposedly made fresh and hot from a tawa.Got home with take away in 5 minutes and it was cold.Disgusting.Never go there again.Waste of money and time.

Awful service, say 20 minutes your there waiting over 40 minutes I won't order from there again. Staff very rude talk in there own language very unhelpful. Lady in the kitchen was so load saying, talking about customers. Pizzas don't taste as nice as they use to. Maybe they also need someone who can speak English when taking orders. Cups and plates still on the tables that have not been picked after use. Very unclean restaurant.

Ordered pizza from here last month and it was okay although the vegetables on a VEGETABLE PIZZA were sparse. Ordered it again this month (same pizza) and it was disgusting. Bland and dripping with oil. The slices were soggy and gross. We ordered two thin crust pizzas and two deep pan pizzas but all we got were four thin crusts instead. Two were supposed to be spicy but all FOUR tasted bland. I might as well have eaten plain bread dipped in oil. Also they didn't even bother to cut the pizza properly and we had to cut it at home. Awful food, awful restaurant, awful service. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have been a loyal customer of this place for over 7 years. Up to about a year ago, the food was really nice, although the service has always been really slow. But since the past year I have ordered 4/5 times and my orders are always either wrong or problems with the quality of the food. I'm not sure who the new chefs are but they are absolutely rubbish! Once I ordered for guests, they were 2hrs late and wrong food! Due to health problems I can't cook much so today I ordered Saag for my family with Roti asked for onions and green chillies on the side. NO ONIONS OR CHILLIES AND SAAG WAS RUNNY LUKE WATER. When I complained, the manager simply said. Yes I know it is slightly runny, Just wait for it to go cold and it will go thicker. WHO EATS COLD SAAG? I asked him that, he didn't reply. I won't be ordering food from there again I will go a few doors down and try Sardaar Restaurant instead, - these guys have lost a lot of business as we were a regular customer.

Great food, had Kashmiri Paneer, very nice, service a bit slow, but wasn't in a hurry so no worries. 2 hours of parking in Tesco's just down the road. Plenty of other food choices on Narborough Rd.

Best Vegetarian food in Leicester. Recently we did some food tasting for wedding caterers and this place actually came out as number one1!!!! It was better tasting than most wedding caterers around. The only downside was that for that amount of catering the price was quite expensive compared to others. Naearly Double price !!! Verdict: Prices are very good for a meal out, Quality of food is Excellent, but too expensive for a wedding. UPDATE IN 2023. THIS USED TO BE THE BEST FOR FOOD QUALITY. BUT LATELY THEY HAVE GiVEN US WRONG ORDERERS OR ORDERS NOT EXACTLY AS ORDERED. THEY HAVE NEW STAFF AND SERVICE IS NOW APPAULING!! COMPLAINED SO MANY TIMES, WRONG PIZZAS, WRONG CURRY, OLD ROTIS PLACED IN FRESH ONES,OR 2HR LATE DELIVERY.

This is a family run restaurant serving delicious and authentic Punjabi food. There is a very good selection of dishes from the menu. All the food is made fresh from the scratch. The best part is it’s a completely vegetarian restaurant. The desserts are also made fresh and are absolutely delicious. The ambience is average but the food makes up for it.

They serve awesome and amazing tea.Just loved it .

The service is very poor. I went hear few years ago and remember the food taking soo long to make despite being the only customer. Went again yesterday and the food took over 1 hour to come. When the food arrived, they only brought the food for me & my wife, 20 minutes after they brought my sons food out. every time we asked how long is it going to take they kept saying it’s coming now. Complete disgrace and awfull service. It appears this place has had these issues for years. They have no sense of urgency and don’t seem bothered about how long they take. Wouldn’t recommend going here. There’s much more better efficient restaurants on narborough Rd.

We pop in every time we visit Leicester and fancy some authentic homemade Punjabi food. It’s delicious and friendly on the purse. Our favourites are the aloo paranteh and the sholay bhatureh, with a mug of masala chaa of course! 👌🏽

Really tasty food and good price. My one point to note is that the food can take a long time to cook. I don't mind this as you know it is being cooked fresh, but it is something to be aware of if you are in a rush

This is the 3rd Indian disgusting horrible experience me and my family had in this Leicester. We placed a very large order and through Just Eat app, and it was shown for over 40 minutes WAITING FOR CONFIRMATION, we tried to call the restaurant and the Indian lady answered and spoke in her Indian language and hung up on us because she couldn't speak English, she hung up rudely. We tried to call back and she would refuse to answer, then we insisted and she answered again in her Indian language, then passed the phone to her customer to speak for her which I was in complete shock. The customer even he said he had to go down to theirs restaurant as they placed an order and it happened the same thithing with them. The Indian lady continues to speak only in her language as this were India not UK, I kindly request the customer on the phone if I can speak with the manager but the lady said to him in Indian that there is no manager. I have never had cush a horrifying experience before. Horrible restaurant and if they do this to so many customers then there is a serious problem with this restaurant, and I was shocked as the customer told me over the phone that it happened to him as well, and their reviews as well, more people are having horrible experience with them. Many customers got food poised from this place.

Great veggie curry that is a mile above your usual "English" Indian takeaway. You can keep your vindaloo I'm going for an aloo bengum

Wonderful place for having desi home made vegetarian food. Bee jee ke haath ka khana.( food cooked by lovely mother). hidden gem at narborough road Leicester. We had to wait for some minutes because they cook it fresh & nothing served frozen. So it’s okey as we wait at home too for good food. Staff is lovely. Any Indian who miss college days or school days in India (or home food) should go there once. Chaat and Indian snacks are tasty. Menu is full of variety. Small place but far better than other restaurants boasting to serve authentic Indian food. (No alcohol allowed). Prices are as generous as sardarji.Some wall frames are different than regular pics. Great job sardaar ji!! Tasty.. samosa... people are always in queue..!! Tasty aalu tikki chaat Tasty makki roti and sarso ka saag Tasty chhole bhatoora Tasty aalu paratha. And many more.

Authentic homemade food at reasonable prices but it took forever to arrive (almost 1 hour wait) and one of the starters never arrived. Apparently this is a usual problem at this restaurant, therefore I would stay away in future. Poor ambience.

My go to Punjabi pure vegetarian place for past 12 years. Service sometimes takes too long but seeing how busy it can be I'm not too angry with it. Superb taste and price to quality ratio.

We popped in last night on a brief visit to Leicester. Used to come in years ago and loved it. They were closing but very kindly agreed to make us something from the Indian mains menu, which is what I was after anyway! The curries came with rice and chapatties, were delicious and cost under a tenner. Next time I’m in Leicester I’ll be back for sure.

Amazing local spot for authentic Indian food. Extremely generous portions for a very good price. I will definitely be back! I ordered pick up and the restaurant had my food ready immediately. Great food and even better customer service!

I'm sad to leave such a poor review as this used to be one of my favourite places to eat, however lately the service has gone right downhill. On this last occasion we called and ordered ahead so the food would be ready on our arrival. We were told it would be about 20 mins, great! Enough time to grab our coats and get down there. However one hour later and we were still waiting for our food (just 2 of us). When the food finally arrived it was luke warm, and to top it all off my partner found a piece of paneer in her dish (she has a dairy intolerance so specifically ordered a dish with no dairy). We mentioned the issues to the staff but because they don't speak great English they hardly understood what we were trying to say. This place used to be great but these issues are too common now so I don't think we'll be returning.

Ordered takeaway. Told 20 minutes. So asked for a samosa while waiting. Waste of time. They didn’t care

For a "value for money" restaurant, this is going to be hard to beat. Ate with my wife and 2 young kids for just over £20 ! I was a bit dubious when I saw the quantity of food available on the menu but I was proven wrong. And the quality for this kind of money is quite surprisingly good. Sure, it's no 4 star place but the parathas are delicious and freshly made, as was the Indo-Mexican dish I ordered. The queue of people waiting for takeaways and the almost full restaurant says I'm not the only one who likes this eatery. The toilet (singular!) is clean and does the job. But there is no wheelchair access.
