Star Inn in Bath and North East Somerset

Staff were pleasant and efficient. The Sunday roast was dry and the promised cauliflower cheese didn't arrive. The table next door sent their veg back as some were still frozen in the middle !

Great atmosphere we had the lamb hot pot and was delicious and banoffee pie for dessert was absolutely amazing the bar staff was very friendly would definitely return

Wow! What a superb lunch. The food was all freshly prepared and very tasty. It’s a real pleasure to get such well cooked food. Service from the staff was excellent - both staff noticed I had a hand injury and accommodated for it in the most appropriate ways. Highly recommended - we will definitely return

As you walk in the pub you are met by the friendliest bar man, the place is spotless and the food quality and portion sizes are impressive. Really good variety of food and provides a great range of gluten free meals. I am told they do amazing breakfasts on the weekend and Sunday lunches so we will be visiting again this weekend. Thank you for restoring our faith in pub dining.

Back in Bristol for the first time in many years and great to hear the rich West Country dulcet tones of the locals. Stopped in for lunch, was told there was a wait, but didn’t mind, pub was very clean, and looked well present. Well priced menu and awesome portion size of really good food, had the scampi and chips Staff was a lady called Karen who was very busy but still had a huge smile. Was nice chatting to a local at the bar named Bill too! Maybe be back very soon with the family because of the play area in the garden.

Good menu choice, good portion size-both courses. Friendly service in a very tidy and clean environment. We'll be going there again.

Dropped in on the way back from Wookey Hole, really friendly and informative Barman. We’re told an hours wait for food, but I’m certain it was shorter, so friendly and helpful. Menu is concise and decent, food is delicious and beer garden is a great size. Lovely for a sunny day. Cannot recommend enough, Thankyou

Popped in here for 1st time when passing through. Warmly welcomed and the three of us had a great dinner. The Barman also brought our dog an homemade treat which she loved! All in all, would highly recommend.

My wife and I visited the Star last weekend. Further to a recommendation by a friend . I had the fish chips and peas. The fish was of excellent quality ,good size portion, Snow White flakes and very tasty. The fish and chips was as good as you would get in any good fish and chip shop. Most pubs I have tried fish and chips the fish has been disappointing and more often than not tasteless. But NOT the Star My wife had the Scampi which she said was also very good. Staff very friendly and helpful always checking to make sure every thing was OK. Will be back soon.

Have to say food was awful. Four of us dined out. I ordered a burger which consisted of just a burger in a bun with chips. No salad, no other trimmings. Friend had salmon and jacket potato and ended up having beans. Was tasteless and not presented well. Went out because we were getting a meal cheaper but wished I stayed home. I could have done better. Was very disappointed. Didn’t feel we had the right to complain as we were getting 50% off. Will not be going back. On the plus side pub was very clean and staff very friendly. I hate putting bad reviews but The food was awful.

A further 5 stars goes to this gem of a pub. Chose steak this time and it was amazing not an ounce of fat on it and was really tasty and tender. Compliments to the chef again and the waiting staff were as pleasant and helpful ever.

Top marks to the Star Inn for a great Sunday roast. Great service, very friendly team and the food was delicious. Good value for money at just over a tenner. Also need to say a big well done for Covid safeguarding - very well organised and the restaurant was spotless.

We had not planned where to have lunch. We had spent the morning in Glastonbury to return to Keynsham. We saw the Star Inn and decided to take our chances. We could not fault any of our meals. 3 x cooked breakfast and 1x breakfast bap. Excellent value for money, all good was served hot. I asked for something not to be on my plate - this was catered for (not a fan of black pudding). £12 for breakfast bap (full of food) and 1 breakfast plus 2 drinks. Like I said excellent value for excellent food. If I lived locally I would be back. My son lives locally and he will be back.
