Star Coffee Patisserie in Glasgow City

I ordered a cake for the next day thinking that they would make it fresh but the quality of the base is very bad it is very hard like a rock. The upper layer specially is rock solid and the cake itself is very sweet but tasteless. Never again very disappointed paid £35 for this rubbish.

The menu has the wrong prices and staff was a bit rude about it when I asked about it

Food was fresh and tasty. Gyro food was nice.

The place is great, the quality is excellent, clean, the staff is friendly and not expensive

Noisy and chaotic, not in a good way. Was forgotten about, after order taken. Have not been in ages, has this Coffee Shop been taken over. 2 ladies beside me, thought this was the case.

This is a very good eatery / coffee shop on main drag Victoria road. Been several times now. Soup and sandwiches, toasties etc. are very good. The place has a nice quiet if somewhat spartan atmosphere Staff are very efficient without being overly friendly and service is fast. Today was simply a coffee stop for me. All types are excellent i had a latte and an empire biscuit. Cost £4.95. which is good. The cake range is wide and all are of excellent quality. A perfect place to sit and chill or read a paper whilst enjoying a brew of your choice.

Easily the best panini I’ve ever had and I love paninis. Super cute side salad too. Just very tasty

Paid £8 for 2 soups to take away. 1 lentil which was cold but edible. The tomato soup on the other hand was vile. I think It was a concentrate and there was no water added to it. Extremely salty and full of grainy lumps. Completely inedible

Ordered a birthday cake from here and their sister patisserie (Birth Cake) across the street twice now and both cakes were amazing!

This place is amazing. Their desserts are soooo tasty and made just right. They make the best trifle. Try not to go too late as not much choice left as it is very popular.

Found this place today while visiting somewhere nearby,really lovely food and amazing coffee.And box of cakes we took away were so fresh and really nice. Definitely visit again

We have ordered our wedding cake from Cake Make Star just 2 days before. Cake was perfect, delicious, with beautiful decoration. Highly recommend the place.

New layout.deserts improved a lot. Very fresh and tasty. If you like your sponge cakes very fine and delicate ,fench style fruit tarts and roulade ,éclairs than this is the place to go ! Cakes made to order but no phone orders accepted just in person

The lady is a great cook!! Fantastic baked potatoes. A real find. Don't live close by but have travelled a few times. Recommend.

Terrible customer experience 😔 I brought a black forest cake for my kids birthday and when we cut it found its a raberry cake. When I asked the lady in the counter she it's not their fault, it's their chefs mistake. She is not even in a mood to listen to me. My son eats only chocolate cakes 😔 I would not recommend or visit that place again. More over raspberry cake is terrible, all kids in the party didn't liked it. Expensive cake compared to other bakeries around that area.

Awful staff! The female worker who was working on Sunday 18/07/21 needs to quit immediately! Absolutely no people skills, seems to be mourning the fact that she is working as a waitress for someone else's business.

Very bad experience. Ordered a fruit cake charge me £45 but no worth as cake was so thin. And the guy who was dealing was so so rude with us Poor service.

Went in and trying get to something for breakfast, the staff was so rude, she was like we don't have breakfast when clearer and they do that toasties, told her please if she can serve me quick as I'm late for work she didnt even care and start to take like more than 20 mins making my toast and was so rude and as for the food it was horrible. No taste at all dont spend your money there. First and last time going. God I'm spending my money, if you don't like working in such places were your facing people then don't. I know we all have our bad days but the service I got was terrible, We all deserve some respect and if your so horrible to customers simply don't work.

Order a birthday cake 4 days ago to pick up today. There was instruction on cake decoration but they did not follow anything and make a cake as they like. They tried to fix thing up after 30 mins waiting but things didnt follow our instruction still. I was upset as cake decoration was not according to our likeness.

I applied for a job in this place. They had me work for several hours and then sent me on my way. There was a new girl working each day... looks like they just abuse free labour. I went in to split a £20 note, £2 for a bottle of coke, older guy basically took my money and practically threw it at poor girl working on the till, saw earlier comment saying it's obvious that the guy here has no respect for women well... it's true

Changing my 5 star review to one after ordering an awful charity cake. There was a charity forrest gateau cake ordered. There was no chocolate sponge, no cherry sauce. It was a plain layered cake with whipped cream. I bought a black forest gateau slice the day before to see what I can expect. Being a charity cake should not mean you give less quality cake. No sensible company would sell a sub par product. It ruins the reputation. Wasted opportunity to promote you're brand. Charge more and make a good cake, or anything that tastes nice.

Had the small breakfast. It wasn't small at all! Food was delicious and staff were very nice and accommodating. Could go in every day.

Was very good when they started but need to update there menu with more variety according to what’s popular.

Coffee was good but food was awful. Could taste things which had obviously been in the pan before but which I did not have. Could see from the fried eggs that the pan had not been clean. No choice of bread for toast and was buttered whether I liked it or not.

Rude staff, my friend ordered cake for her child birthday and nothing like was ordered. Fresh cream was too much liquid they ruined birthday party. I do not go there, they are dishonest. They are Arabic speaking g do not respect women. I would not recommend this shop, because of their bad service already two shops closed within Glasgow in the westend.

Always get a nice coffee here, cakes are delicious and great value for money. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Just got a box of 7 cakes for £10.50 and two cup cakes at £1.80 each. Rubbish !!!! This shop used to make lovely cakes and a wide variety of cakes, I wasn’t fussed about price as I knew I was getting quality. NOW there cakes are utter rubbish presented well to the unknowing eye. I won’t go back. Lots of alternatives. They’ve lost a loyal customer. I’m disappointed and hurt ! Tried calling and phone just rang out it seems they’ve given up.

Absolutely appalling customer service! We got two full cakes for a birthday and they turned out to be out of date and tasted like they have gone off!! The owners did not seem to care about the complaints. Will not be going back I advice you spend your money else where

He realizado muchas visitas a esta casa de café a lo largo de los años y han disfrutado de mi experiencia. Normalmente sólo tienes pastel de café o un batido de leche, pero también hacer almuerzos ligeros, etc., lo que paninis sopa plan para probar. Esto merece una visita si en la zona.

This place is located quite conveniently in the southside. I really like that it's open late (10pm) as I could use it for work. It's nice to be able to go somewhere at night where it's not too loud and there's no alcohol served. I had their ice-cream which is quite delicious and their detox tea which was very nicely flavored altogether for about £4. I wouldn't recommend the cakes as they look a bit too soggy/sweet but they have Panini and sandwiches as well.
