We had a really lovely time here meeting some friends for lunch. The food was very nice indeed and excellent value. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Really great cafe with a wide range of food choices. Good value and excellent service. We were doing the Cotswolds Way and it was in a good location for our lunch. There is good ambiance and the tables are available both in and outside. We definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous lunch! We took advantage of the asparagus 'specials' on the menu to celebrate the start of the local asparagus season. I ordered poached eggs with asparagus, neither of which are the easiest of foods to cook and get right at the best of times, but these were prepared and cooked to perfection and were so beautifully presented on the plate. Star Bistro is a delightful, friendly and hugely competent food venue - would 100% recommend.

Fabulous service and lovely cake

A nice and relaxed atmosphere to play Lego, drink coffee and eat cake. We came to the Star Bistro for coffee but the lunch menu looked great too.

Went to a Quiz night at National Star Bistro. An amazing night. Very entertaining. Food was excellent and staff were very attentive, a fun night was had by all.

Star Bistro never disappoints! The service is always served with a warm welcome and smiles, staff consistently go above and beyond without hesitation! The food, both cold and hot, is amazing and so affordable! It is extremely family friendly, I took my little boy as they were loaning Lego for only £2.50 which they had set up on trays, the kids could choose which they wanted and have fun building! Can’t wait until next time!

Delicious food - we had breakfast baps with Quorn sausage, fried egg and hash brown. We went during Half Term and there were Lego kits to borrow for the kids - my son and his friend loved these! Also nice selection of cold drinks, cakes and snacks alongside tea and coffee. Plenty of party and beautiful setting. Will definitely be back!

What a lovely treat to find the Star Bistro along the Cotswold Way for an afternoon pick me up. Very well presented cafe with friendly staff that ensured we had a good time. The hot chocolate and cake were delicious and certainly ensured we had sufficient sugar for the next 8km

What a change, and not for the better. I have enjoyed lunch here in the past, but not this time. The menu is significantly reduced, most of the attractive options have gone. I chose fish and chips and regretted it - it seemed cooked well enough but I felt uncomfortable all afternoon. I won't go back unless the menu improves.

Lovely staff, great food and really well priced! Dog friendly too which is awesome. The students made some dog treats free for four legged diners too which our Ozzy loved! Will definitely pop back again when we’re next in the area.

Once again, the Star Bistro delivered an outstanding lunch, where a friend and I were given a very warm welcome by the team before enjoying a delicious meal at a very attractive price. My friend had the perfectly cooked fish and chips, while I opted for the newly introduced mushroom burger. This latter dish combined a large field mushroom where its natural flavour was enhanced by the addition of mozzarella cheese and a pesto sauce. We then ended with a lemon parfait where the creaminess was perfectly balanced by the fresh slight sharpness of the lemon and a dash of raspberry coulis. The Star College is an extraordinary place and we were delighted not only to be served by the very friendly front of house team, but also by to students who were being mentored in their work experience training. This allowed the students to practise their social skills and improve their confidence so they can leave the College as valued and equal citizens, actively contributing to society. We both left with huge smiles on our faces and energised by the wonderfully positive atmosphere of the place. If you can, please try and visit the Bistro as you won't be disappointed. You will not only have an excellent meal in an area of outstanding natural beauty, but you will see people whose determination to help the students represents the very, very best in humanity.

Yet again not disappointed by our visit to Star Bistro. On this occasion as a party of five we thoroughly enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea. Everything was perfect, especially the scones which were the best we had all eaten for some time. Generous portions of jam and cream provided the only dilemma, as whether to choose the Devon or Cornish options. Service as always was attentive and helpful. Well done to the team. Do note this lovely experience does need to be prebooked.

Great coffee and super lunch! We had originally planned to walk our dogs up the hill from Leckhampton so that we had 'earned' our lunch on a mid week day off for my husband's birthday. However, the weather meant we had to adjust our plans and drive up to the Bistro. Between the three of us we enjoyed a chicken wrap, vegan burger and roasted squash salad. All delicious. Our daughter insisted we have cake to celebrate Dad's birthday and so we shared a chocolate fudge cake and a vegan chocolate cake. It was all really tasty and well presented. Lovely service from all staff - thank you. We do intend to try the dog walk followed by lunch later in the Spring - when we will make use of your covered patio. We have also recommended you to other friends who live locally - I am just sorry we have not discovered you sooner! Thank you for a great birthday lunch.

Had lunch here after playing golf on the excellent Star Golf course. I had the halloumi burger and chips, which was delicious, followed by some coffee and cake. Staff were lovely and price was good value.

I recently contacted starbistro with a request of a bespoke cream tea as a takeaway for my my wife’s birthday. They did not disappoint. After liaising with chef joe he was able to come up with a menu full of tasty treats to celebrate the occasion. Joe created a host of sweet treats that included baklava filled choux buns, cherry and dark chocolate ganache tartlets, mixed berry and creme patisserie tartlet and mixed flavoured macrons. Balanced with some lighter than air buttermilk scones with clotted cream and preserves. This is made my wife’s lockdown birthday very special and I cannot thank joe, simon and the team enough. Excellent service, fabulous value and I’m very much going to be first in the cue when the bistro opens up to visitors again.

Just had the most amazing 'Trio of Bao' here, fantastic service and an unbelievable selection of cakes....spoilt for choice....had to be Whisky Bread Pudding! Great value and the best Cafe around this area.

So lucky to have this place to enjoy! Every time I've visited whether to take food away or when visiting as part of a themed evening, the food and the service have always been second to none, without exception. I recently went to the Asian Fusion Evening which was simply outstanding. The choice and quality of the food was breathtaking and I left very full and happy, plus the atmosphere was perfect, clearly a lot of attention to detail was paid by everyone involved. Can't wait for Quiz Night and Italian Evening soon!

An excellent Asian evening with a good variety of food to suit everyone. The themed evening to celebrate Chinese New Year was brought to life with the Chinese decorations and music - a great atmosphere.

Excellent food, with something for everyone, to celebrate Chinese New Year. Such a variety and selection of food no-one needed to come away feeling hungry. The Chinese lanterns decorating the room and music added to the atmosphere. There were little details to make the evening special like the saki and fortune cookies. We certainly look forward to the next themed evening.

Have been to the StarBistro on several occasions for themed evenings, like the Burger Night and the more recent Asian Fusion Evening and it's always been an outstanding experience with unbelievable food, wonderful service and perfect ambience. I'm officially hooked now and will be returning regularly for future themed events!

We live nearby and often visit the Star Bistro for lunch. Delicious food prepared by expert chefs who are teaching the college's students. There are always gluten free options and meals to suit all appetites.

Mi esposo y yo vivimos cerca y visitamos el Star Bistro por primera vez el fin de semana para el desayuno / almuerzo. Podemos recomendarlo a fondo. Teníamos un inglés completo y un inglés vegetariano completo (¡porque también queríamos algo de halloumi!). Ambos eran 7 cada uno, muy razonable para una comida tan buena. La comida era muy fresca y muy bien preparada. El hash brown era casero, el pedido llegó de forma rápida y correcta (no habíamos pedido champiñones y un hash brown). Tomamos té y café y observamos los pasteles al salir. El bistro ha sido bien equipado y también hay un área para entretener a los niños.

A hidden gem with great food supporting a very worthy cause

Outstanding event last evening which was a 6-course taster menu designed to match with a beer for each course. The food & presentation was outstanding and each dish perfectly complimented the beer & vice versa. Head chef Joe Parke & Leigh Norwood (Favourite Beer) clearly put a lot of work & thought into each course. Servers were friendly & efficient too. Also, I have previously been for dinner and an afternoon tea at Ullenwood and each time the quality is superb.

A great menu with a good choice of vegetarian and vegan options. The vegan burger was delicious. The atmosphere is charming and what a joy to be served by students from National Star College and support them in their learning too.

We were walking the Cotswold Way and arrived hungry and thirsty. It is about 350 metres off the Cotswold Way as you come down to the hill.

I've been to the Star Bistro a few times now & it has been excellent on every occasion. The place is spotless. The staff are friendly & greet you with a smile. The food is great & well priced. Love it.

We had such a great experience that we ate at Star Bistro 3 times during our week’s stay at the cottages onsite! Every meal was excellent - the kids absolutely loved the pancakes with fried chicken and we particularly enjoyed the spicy burger. Delicious home made chips, gorgeous salads and perfectly made eggs benedict. All washed down with tea and yummy home baked cakes. And wonderful to know that by eating amazing food, we’re also supporting National Star. What’s not to love!

Tuve la suerte de tomar un espacio en uno de los eventos nocturnos temáticos de Star Bistros "Asian Fusion"

Order the chunky chips topped with BBQ pulled pork and Cheddar cheese. The food was served not too hot so was able to be eaten straight away with the perfect amount of chips to pork to cheese. The pork was cooked to perfection with no crispy or crunchy bits. The only downside is the chips were CHUNKY but still a fantastic meal for the low price it was!

Great cafe with plenty of seating inside and outside. Open to public during daytime Mon to Fri for just coffee snacks cakes or delicious lunchtime meals. Trying the sour dough bread is a must. Lovely local walks nearby incl Crickley Hill country park (Cotswolds AONB) and a golf club. Gift shop onsite has beautiful gifts designed and made by students.

Attending the Local Charity Awards. Great food and atmosphere

Welcoming atmosphere. Relaxed and casual but smart too. Staff were attentive and new student was keen to learn. Food was excellent from the bread thru to dessert. Had sea bass, which was delicious, and the chai ice cream was delicious.

Different from the usual pub fare so common, especially if you are walking the Cotswolds Way & have limited options. Be sure to stop at the Star Bistro.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while hiking the Cotswold Way. We both had a very good cooked meal. Very hearty and good portions for those who are also hiking. It is one of the few restaurants directly located on the Cotswold Way path. Very pleased we stopped here. Note, the kitchen closes around 14:30 so plan accordingly.

Came here on a weekend getaway by accident and was really amazed by quality of food and service. Excellent quality and friendly service. Terrace was nice to sit outside. Also parking plenty - great with a little one! Highly recommend.

This was one of our favourite “go to” lunchtime restaurants that we always thoroughly enjoyed and recommended to friends. But not any more unfortunately. The menu choice is not great, the quality nothing like it used to be - and the pricing where you can choose to either have a dish as a starter or main course makes some of the main courses rather expensive for what is served on the plate. So sorry Star Bistro but we won’t be rushing back.

Used the Star Centre for a one day work meeting. Function rooms are fantastic and staff very accommodating with regards to set up. Booked lunch as part of day and had excellent fixed price menu with main course and loads of cake and fresh fruit fo pudding.

Great restaurant supporting a very worthy cause too! Food is excellent and good variety although not a huge range. Sadly the boulibaise I ordered for lunch had sold out! Very sensible pricing, good staff / service! Free Wi-fi with a code, adequate car parking too!

Visited this delightful Bistro for lunch with 19 members of Gloucester Stroke Club. A great meal was enjoyed by all, whether it was starters/main course or puddings it was all very well cooked/presented and served with very polite well trained staff. We will visit again, well done to all the staff involved.

Only the 2nd time i have tried the Star Bistro and did so today with a colleague. It isn’t cheap but supports some fantastic work with the Star College students. 2 lunches and drinks came to just over £20. Hopefully be back soon. I had the pulled pork with sweet potato fries which was very tasty and filling. My colleague was happy with her soup and sandwich “light bite option”

Had a wonderful experience for our first visit in Dec with friends for the Xmas luncheon and the lunch was superb from the moment we arrived to the end, The staff and students welcoming us and then the amazing food we can not offer praise enough for this little gem.

I am a huge fan of this bistro so was looking forward to taking an elderly friend there for lunch. I was disappointed by the service it was very slow. . Food was tasty but portions quite small. We both chose the lamb but we were told they had none left. The chicken we did have was delicious but more risotto was needed. When it came to pudding the chocolate was also off the menu. Had the panacotta which was lovely but the rhubarb was very poor. Wine was expensive at £27.50 a bottle. I will go back. Hope this was just an off day.

Visited for lunch. Had some delicious ling with chorizo cake and leeks. Nicely presented, well cooked but small portions! Excellent idea behind the venue and very helpful staff. Nice location too. Pretty eco friendly!
