Service & food couldn’t have been better. The baked vegetarian brian and gigantic beans were especially good.

really delicious food with plenty of vegetarian options too. Possibly the best hummus ever. very friendly staff. the only thing they could improve is maybe turn the lighting down a bit. very bright. softer light would give a better ambience.

The question is always “Would I go there again?” The answer in this case is a definite ‘Yes” Both had a lovely evening. We had the Mezes, Warm bread and dips is a must. Salad very Greek and wonderful - big slab of herbed feta, real Kalamata olives, all tasted fresh. I asked for some olive oil and we got a bottle; didn’t have to ask for extra lemons as there were plenty. Service excellent, very friendly young lady. Wasn’t sure which red wine and ended up tasting three. My husband had the Baclava, coffee, beer, Ouzo, Metaxa (ok he was on a roll). We ate a lot, enjoyed it all and the bill with tip was still under £70.

What a super place. Made to feel very welcome from the start. Excellent veggie options and so much to choose. We booked in advance and mentioned a pepper allergy and they were keen to make sure I was choosing the right things. It has a lovely laid back atmosphere.

Girly night out with friends. We had the mezes option and the food was delicious, plentiful, dishes were brought out at a good pace for us. We enjoyed everything, including delicious cocktails and a traffic light shot at the end. Despite initially booking for 8 of us but then only 5 able to make it Selina was very accommodating and they were excellent dealing with the fact one of our party had a fish allergy.

Not been for a while but had a great evening. Food was amazing as always, service was very friendly but not intrusive. Love going here.

Don't get to find too many decent Greek restaurants in England anymore, however this surpasses. Food was a joy to the eye as well as the stomach! Welcoming and hospitable.

Sorry we won’t come back, the starters were nearly cold. And the main meals was reheated chicken and undercooked fries. My wife barely ate anything and all I can taste is the tzatziki! Not very impressive at all. You better of making your own Greek meals at home!

Following our first visit to your restaurant on Friday night, can I take the opportunity to thank you for the fantastic food and attentive service. Unfortunately, when we arrived, my partner was half way through a migraine attack and as a result, affected the evening. As a result we weren't able to fully enjoy the experience that you and your staff work very hard to create. So, without any hesitation, we will return and make the most of your lovely restaurant. Great little taste of Greece. Food is always delicious and freshly cooked. The Gyros is superb. Staff are always so friendly and warm. Have used couple times as a takeaway option too and thats always been just as good. 10/10

Good food, pleasant atmosphere and a lovely waitress.

We actually walked upstairs into the dining area and all of us said that the aroma took us straight to Greece. The food was lovely, authentic, comparable to the best we have tried in Greece, and the service was great. Say no more.

Very disappointed. Not sure why such a high rating on trip advisor. Despite the service being excellent and having a super clean restaurant, it was let down by lack of ambience and dreadful main courses. Several diners sat in coats as cold, bright lights, lack of authentic Greek ambience, poor food presentation, burnt Moussaka and ikky chicken main. Such a shame as had high hopes.

Oh my goodness blimey o'reilly!!!! We had a Saturday evening August bank holiday weekend dinner here. It was amazing! Delicious and plentiful. So large was the portion that I left some which is unheard of!!!! Atmosphere, layout, service, food all great. Can't fault anything about Stalida.

A lovely little restaurant in the middle of Hexham. Extremely personable staff - whose ethos is to advise and make ones eating experience pleasurable. Good simple greek food served with a smile.

We had a meal for 4 of us on a weekday evening. It was outstanding. We had a variety of main courses and absolutely everything was served promptly, it was hot, there was plenty of food and best of all it tasted superb. Not just good, or alright, it was excellent. The service was very good as well. Good communication, good timings in everything, not overly fussy, but very attentive. I genuinely cannot fault the experience. Fantastic.

The food here is amazing! Couldn’t fault it! Everything was piping hot huge menu something for everyone. I had an amazing chicken dish with bacon mushrooms chips and rice the freshest vegatables. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone first time people wanting Greek experience to seasoned Greek experts.

We ate here twice during our holiday in Hexham and tried both the vegetarian options. The food was delicious and the owners were charming. Would highly recommend and would definitely eat here again if we are ever in Hexham - fabulous! 😊

Having visited Hexham several times, this was my first visit to Stalida. I feel I've missed a wee gem. We had a delicious meal of lovely Greek food. Will certainly come back. Maybe the mezze menu next time for lots of Greek tastes and flavours.

We went here on our last night in Hexham 17/05/23. It seemed that the majority of the seating is upstairs. There were a few soft furnished sofas downstairs but this looked more like a waiting room, for take-aways perhaps. There may have been more downstairs seating further into the building but we only saw a bar area further back. The waitress was welcoming and pleasant and although she seemed to be on her own, she coped very well with a mostly full restaurant. We were not kept waiting at any point and she was aware when people were ready to pay or need further drinks etc. We have only been to Greece once but the food here took us back to warmer holidays, which was pleasant. The food was plentiful and good and we were treated well and we felt looked after.

Found this little restaurant online , had good reviews and decided to give it a try. Greeted by very friendly lady who turned out to be the owner. Excellent food cooked by her husband and reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend giving it a try if in the area.

Authentic Greek dishes, cookies and presented extremely well with service to match. Good choice of Greek wines and an excellent ouzo. All together a very enjoyable experience.

Fantastic atmosphere with Greek Music playing quietly in background. great welcome - No rush to order drinks or food - water was brought to table without asking. Food was mouthwatering! Feta and Olives /Calamari for starters - delicious. Stifado and Kotopoulo a la crème for mains. Out of this world! large portions - no room for dessert! All washed down with half carafe of Cretan red wine. Can't wait to go again.

From the moment I booked the service and communication was excellent, Selena was so helpful. There were 8 of us in the group so we went for the Meze option and it did not disappoint. The dishes just kept coming with so much variety and flavour. I had mentioned my wife didn't eat meat or diary when I booked so Selena asked who my wife was as soon as we arrived so she made sure there were plenty of dishes at her end of the table that she could eat, topped off with a special swordfish dish just for her as well. Amazing food, amazing service and great value.

I took my wife here for her birthday treat accompanied by our daughter. It was the first time we had been to a Greek Taverna for around 15 years. We were seated at the front of the restaurant upstairs. Apart from a single diner it was all families - good to see. We ordered a range of items to make a mese. The (only) waiter recommended that we order something else as he thought it wouldn't be enough for three of us so I ordered a special as well. As expected the food arrived as it had been cooked and it was all delicious. There were some issues: we had to ask three times before our water arrived (no problems with wine and fruit juice) and I never got my special! He was very apologetic over this but it didn't matter because in fact what we had ordered was indeed enough for us. The bill was incorrect, we pointed out we had been undercharged. We enjoyed our evening and my wife particularly did. We shall definitely be back.

We are not locals, but came here during our holiday to Northumberland and were very impressed! The Greek food and wine were to die for, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I only wish it were closer to home, and would not hesitate to return.

We had a midweek date night, the main restaurant seating is upstairs. It’s a family run place and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Greek food was delicious and so was the wine. Definitely not a place to go if you don’t like Greek food as there aren’t alternatives to the food or drinks but for us it was right up our street. Dolmades and mousaka were really tasty! Stalida is a fantastic little restaurant with authentic Greek food and lovely service. I've been there several times and it's consistently good. Really makes you feel like you have been on holiday to the Med.

Lovely couple running this restaurant. We had fried courgette, dolmades and a mixed grill followed by baclava. All authentic and delicious cooked by Greek husband and served by his charming wife. Reminded us of eating on many holidays in Greece, including Crete where they ran a taverna.

Super friendly staff , starters were on point , we had several on a share between us theme .... I had the kleftico for my main , which I have had many times in various restaurants (in cyprus) and was surprised at how it was presented to me (it looked like moussaka) .... but ... it was a delight to eat , a wonderfull version of a great dish , I highly recommend My good lady had chosen the stifado for her main, which looked fantastic and after having just a small try ... it tasted as good as it looked , so I can only say that I highly recommend a visit to anyone , I think we will be returning sooner rather than later
