Super friendly place for light meals, tea, coffee, cake or a bottle of cold beer. Old-fashioned in the nicest possible way with attentive, caring service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Popped in for a light breakfast. Had brown bread toast and marmalade with an americano each. Sat outside in the September morning sun. Everything spot-on and tasty. Thank you.

Excellent tea and cakes. I had the Lemon Meringue pie, which was just as delicious as my mums. Tea in a proper pot, served in bone china cups.

Stopped here for a cup of tea and some cake. Had a nice chat with a local guy. Super nice!

The food was nice but the service was painfully slow. We had intended to get a pudding but decided against because of the slowness.

Very friendly, our dog was made to feel welcome as much as we were. The food was 1st class, real homemade soup, very fresh cheese scones, and we were given the choice of whether we had our drinks before or with our meal, not very often this happens elsewhere 5 stars are not enough to give this place

Cosy but tired outlet close to the market. Friendly and efficient service. Very good cup of coffee and tea in a China cup. Cheese scones lacked cheese and had been microwaved. At £6 + for drink and scone - a bit on the pricey side.

Nice cup of tea and my friend said the banana cake was fabulous.

A very nice local cafe . The interior design is very authentic and remarkable. The glasses and plates are beautiful antique style items. It has a nice central location. You can find free car parking very close by. You can find hot and cold drinks, vegetarian options, sweet foods.

A lovely find, tucked away ever so slightly, with a warm welcome and good food to enjoy. What's not to like?

Jaoa and Rosa are great hosts The atmosphere is friendly and everyone is welcome. The delicious food is homemade. Once you've visited Bunters you will certainly want to return again.

Received a warm welcome. We have visited at least 3 times previously and it was nice to be remembered. Food reasonably priced and value for money. Alot of regular customers too as well as passing customers. Will definitely return.

Really overpriced. OK coffee and dry cake. We actually thought we had been charged for another table by mistake but were told the total was correct. Lots of other cafes in Hexhan that seem more reasonably priced

Lovely cafe in the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Owners were very friendly and kind lovely people. The coffee and shortbread we got was very nice and the cakes looked amazing. Returning customers would reccomend to anyone visiting hexham. Dog friendly too 🐾 we will be back again hopefully soon 😊 thank you ♥️

Called in before we went to the cinema. It was about 11.30ish and unfortunately lunch type meals did not begin until 12 so we had to have snacks. It was still very pleasant and we enjoyed it.

We called by during our visit to Hexham on a cold Winters day. Bunters has a lovely atmosphere and the owners were very welcoming. Two delicious mugs of hot chocolate with cream soon warmed us both up and a toasted teacake with homemade jam and a cheese scone did the trick.

Really nice coffee, great carrot cake but ridiculously priced for such an incredibly small portion. Nothing but greed can qualify these inflated prices and small portions. Over £15 for two coffees and two slices.

Happy to have found this little coffee shop while Hexham was so busy. We only called in for cake and coffee but went with tea and toasted sandwiches instead. Both the brie & cranberry and cheese and onion were both delicious.

Needs a bit of an update. Carpet not very clean. Food was lovely but a bit pricey for a couple of sandwiches and tea for 2 £18.50.

We stopped here for coffee which was good and reasonably priced. Bunters was welcoming and furnished in a very traditional way - reminding me of tea shops from years ago. On our visit the place was full of locals. We felt very comfortable there and would visit again

2 coffees, mince meat pie and chips ,and salad, £27 , way to expensive , there's plenty of better and cheaper cafes in Hexham , so I'd recommend somewhere else

A grim experience. Hot food was dreadful. Frey Bentos tinned pie slathered in super thick badly mixed bisto gravy. Toastie came out soggy in a plate scampi - barely cooked in the middle frazzled on outside. Waitress was friendly enough, but the man inside the serving hatch just glared at folk dead creepy. Really couldn’t recommend. The building front looked cute, but inside dated and grubby.

We ordered flat whites. Espresso and steamed milk, right? Didn't taste like it, in fact it hardly tasted of anything at all. At a guess I'd say it was filter coffee that had been hanging around a while and some steamed milk. Worst coffee we've...

A relaxing and affordable place with avast assortment of snacks, cakes, etc? Staff interactive giving a welcoming atmosphere also, worth a visit when exploring shops!

What an unexpected delight! The best Mediterranean spa alongside wonderful cakes and brownies. And on top of that the service and welcome was brilliant. Thank you Busters

We were very disappionted with the milkshakes and the coffee. The chocolate milkshake is made with chocolate powder and sugar, both of which settled in the bottom of the glass. The milk verged on the warm. The coffee was mostly frothy milk. My friend left the coffee as it was not good tasting. If these drinks were offered at a much much lower price, they would have only just been acceptable. We would suggest that, if you want a drink that is acceptable there are places in Hexham that would be, more suitable.

Bunters sits between the main town centre car park and the shopping area so if you bag an outdoor table there's a constant parade of people passing to and fro to catch the eye. I tried a toasted corned beef sarnie because I'd never seen...

The portions were very good. The cutlery was not fiddly. The service was very good. Umbrella didn't get in the way. Many options of food.

Johnson decided that you should go out more. In Bunters Coffiee Shop they have TWO pricelists': one that is "a part of the table" and one that is used to declare costs in the scheme Eat out help out I should have written this earlier...

We went to this lovely coffe shop in Hexham. We had lunch and it was lovely on both occations. The strawberry tarts were a big hit. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Myself and sister came to bunters for a quick lunch. We were looking for something healthy and light. The service was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. We were brought waters to drink with our coffees, oil, balsamic and seasoning without asking. We ordered...

I visited Bunters this morning for breakfast.I had scrambled eggs on brown bread with brown toast and a pot of tea, I thought that would set me up nicely for the day.The scrambled eggs arrived quickly and were done to perfection, the tea came in a china tea pot and a china cup and saucer, it tastes so much better like this . I was offered more hot water to top up the tea pot which I gratefully accepted.The couple that own Bunters were very friendly and helpful.I look forward to going back.

I was in need of a coffee so me and my partner dropped into this little coffee shop. The food was lovely, my scone was served warm and the drinks were very nice, not to mention the staff were absolutely lovely! Would definitely recommend.

Arrived with 3 adults and 3 kids. Lunch was scoffed by the kids (cheese and ham pieces) and the adults loved their meals. Pie chips peas gravy, homemade lasange and gluten and dairy free rice and chilli. Reasonable prices and a varied selection of of lunch items. Clean and helpful service from staff with a smile.

We happened upon Bunters when visiting Hexham last week and received a warm and friendly welcome. What a find. My husband had the best cappuccino with lemon drizzle cake; I had a pot of tea with the biggest fruit scone which was still warm and totally delicious. The decor is very pretty. I know I would spend a lot of time in there if I lived in Hexham.

This is a small and quirky cafe a little off the beaten track in Hexham. If you park in the big car park you will walk past this cafe on your way up to the town square. It has an inviting outdoor area in front and although the inside looks small, you should give it a chance. The serving area is a little unusual, some service is through the hatch in the wall, but there are menus and table service. I enjoyed good scrambled eggs here and very nice conversation with the managers. Coffee is good. Very nice to chat to the staff when they had time. Thank you.

Enjoyed another visit to Bunters Coffee Shop yesterday lunchtime. As usual, we were greeted warmly on arrival by John and Rosa, were served lovely home cooked food and left feeling that our custom had been genuinely appreciated. It was apparent that the majority of the other tables were occupied by regulars to the cafe, all of whom were greeted by name on arrival. This to me speaks volumes about an owner-operated business and is indicative that the proprietors really care about their business and meeting and exceeding their customers expectations. Looking forward to our next visit which will be quite soon I expect!

We stopped here for coffee and lunch after waiting over 25 mins at another cafe (Small World) and nobody even taking our order. I wish we had just come here instead! The owners are friendly and the food is good, definitely worth stopping here if you are hungry.

Ok food so pricing was fare..desert was terrible..ordered fruit crumble and custard..no crumble..custard was watery with lumps..wouldn't go back

sorry but £16 for a toastie with crisps and a microwaved jacket spud plus 2 cans pop is harsh. nice bloke but hygiene and cheap grub make it a total waste of money.

Stopped for delicious coffee with our two dogs on a cold October day , the menu looked great so we came back next day for soup, homemade lovely pumpkin soup . The coffee shop is licensed as well and the main meals choice looks lovely but sadly we have not been able to return for a meal . Going home tomorrow but will certainly return if we come back to Hexham . It’s just off the Main Street on the way down to the gaol and the car park.

Having visited Hexham numerous times before, we had a pleasant surprise today.We came across Bunters Coffee Shop no doubt we have passed it many times before but today lucky for us we decided to stop for a snack and pot of tea.Lovely Staff and service and Beans on toast and scrambled egg on toast was excellent.We can certainly say we were well impressed and will not bypass this little eaterie on our next visit.Congratulations to the couple running same, excellent service and welcome.And as Arnie would say.We will Be Back.Thank you

Went this morning and was served a cup of tea with a scone to die for! The tea was not made of cheap teabags and the raspberry jam I had with my cup of tea was the best I have tasted in a long time. Staff very friendly, quick and efficient - had a relaxing half hour to read my paper. Would visit here again for lunch.
