We go here quite alot , the food is amazing and the staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble we love this Restaurant.

Popular with the locals, it was busy on a Wednesday in mid April. A superb choice of delicious food for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Friendly and courteous service. I will visit again when I'm in the area.

Plenty of tables is you, like me, eat early. Had the restaurant to myself later afternoon. Had the nicest meal I've had in a very long time.

Very convenient open hours on a day out in Berwick. We were able to enjoy a lovely hot meal shortly after 4pm. Lovely setting and the waitress looked after us well. The food was beautifully cooked and presented.

Been to MAVI a few times with friends, always a great welcome when you arrive, food is amazing never had a bad meal there. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

You will need to book as it gets very busy. Friendly welcome, fast and efficient service, excellent food. My wife and I both had the mixed kebab (chicken and lamb) the quality of the meat was delicious.

One of the best Turkish meals my husband and I have had and we have visited Turkey many times! For starters we had the calamari which was melt in the mouth and the sucuk which was the best we’ve had. Mains- I had the sea bass, fillets were large and absolutely delicious, and my husband the Adana kebab which he said was so fresh it just fell apart. All served with the freshest salad and a fresh sauce made of herbs and chilli’s. Portions were decent, service was fantastic and with a smile. The place was buzzing and we were lucky to get in on a Saturday night! . Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mavi Restaurant!

We had a superb meal here. We started with a cold sharing platter for 2, shared between the three of us - really good contrast of tastes. Our three main courses - chicken sarma, izmir kofte and lamb guvec were all excellent. A very busy restaurant ona Saturday so please book!

Visited here mid Feb. We managed to get a table without booking, but I suspect we were lucky. Service was warm and welcoming. Food was fantastic. Large and tasty portions. Perhaps a little on the expensive side, but well worth it.

We had to eat out on our flying visit to Berwick so I read the reviews carefully and try to choose a restaurant which is a bit different, prepares fresh meals on the premises and clearly tries to delight customers. Mavi, being "no 4 in Berwick" seemed to fit the bill and we were looking forward to our dinner for over a day - having booked well in advance. Sadly, we were quite disappointed. The ambience is refined and the staff are warm, open and friendly but the food was underwhelming. The mains we chose were hot but lacked flavour - quite bland even. Perhaps they were tailored for a British palate but I found them uninspiring and also suspect they were not freshly prepared. The Orman Kebap (lamb stew) was OK for the first mouthful or so but became monotonous and seemed to contain loads of dill (not something that seems to go with lamb), although we could be wrong. The lamb was not that tender. The Chicken Sarma was similarly bland and monotonous; I had been particularly looking forward to it being "filled with peppers, mushrooms and cheese" but was hard pushed to find much of these within and, in any case, they did not add much flavour. The meal was a little redeemed by the excellent salads we had as sides - crisp, tasty vegetables with simple flavoursome dressings. Delicious. Overall, it was "OK". We ate it as we were hungry and in a hurry, plus we recognise that our opinion may just be a matter of taste. If this had been a special evening and we had had more time, we might have been "impolite" enough to send the food back or to leave without eating it.......... but I doubt it as that sort of thing is just "not done"! We are coming to Berwick again soon, and in the unlikely event we decide to eat out, we will try somewhere else.

The food in there is great. We went a few times by now and it was always yummy. Especially the sharing platter as a starter is amazing! But it is so filling, you might struggle with the main.

We had heard this restaurant was good, so on a day off my wife and I went to bridge street in Berwick and got a table for two. We chose from the superb lunchtime menu. My wife had some amazing chicken wraps and fries. I had a lamb sheesh with some lovely sauce and toasted Turkish bread with salad. Also a nice Turkish beer (recommended as its amazing) The staff were welcoming and could not of been nicer. (we are both in hospitality) Lovely place and lovely environment to have food. We will be back and will tell our friends about this restaurant. Looking forward to exploring the menu in time. Thank you

This is such an amazing restaurant and a real asset to the town. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed but also feels like a special occasion. The service is efficient, professional and courteous. The food is amazing, authentic tasting Turkish dishes full of flavour with top quality ingredients and good sized portions. All beautifully presented sizzling in rustic tableware.

Popped in for lunch. The staff were friendly and polite. We went for aubergine moussaka with a selection of 4 starters. Really delicious, good value for money. The apple tea was smashing too. I thoroughly recommend eating here.

Had the lunch menu for 2 ,excellent 4 starters we shared and mains of chicken and one of pork . All beautifully presented and tasted as good as lt looked. Will be back the next time we are in town

Had better here in the past, the lamb was very tough and hard to chew, luckily the rest was edible will stick to the minced kebab next time

Not the best I’ve had here, went for the mixed grill, lamb chop and lamb pieces was very tough, the cold rice pudding was however very tasty

Great Turkish food in a convivial atmosphere with good service. Loved the lighter lunch choices which were not only super tasty but excellent value for money. Our group of 6 had 4 different dishes between us & all were thoroughly enjoyed.

Went for an early New years eve meal and we were not disappointed. The food ,service and atmosphere were all ten out of of ten and we would definitely visit again if in the area. Highly recommended.

A very enjoyable meal at this restaurant. A warm welcome on arrival and the atmosphere is both cosy and stylish. Food extremely good quality and value and the wines highly affordable. I had 4 lamb chops which were delicious with minimal fat. The accompanying salad matched very well and the dip was very tasty and no unnecessary heat to overwhelm the palate. Highly recommended for both the food and the experience.

Such a lovely warm welcome, great food and a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed a lovely evening at Mavi and would definitely recommend visiting. The staff were helpful and attentive without being pushy, the food was absolutely gorgeous and we had plenty to eat. We thought it was good value for what we had, and will definitely go back if we are in Berwick again.

We booked for the first evening of our holiday and were not disappointed. The food was exceptional and very authentic. The others diners who left before us thanked the staff for their fantastic meals. I would recommend booking as it was quite busy even in October.

Wow!! Great food and great service. Early Saturday evening meal, but as busy as could be, but we were efficiently served with very good humour. We loved it and will return as soon as we can afford to. (They're not expensive!!)

Amazing tasty food and lovely staff. Unfortunately I was too excited at how good the food was I forgot to get the waitress name. I had creamy chicken which was beautiful and tender with a sauce full of flavour. Not the insipid creamy sauce you sometimes get in Italians. My husband had moussaka. This also was luscious and full of flavour. Lovely rice too. The waitress was friendly professional and really canny. As was the lady at the counter. We enjoyed it so much we’re trying to work out how to fit another visit in on our wedding anniversary before we go back home to Newcastle tomorrow. But if not we’ll definitely return on our next trip.

We have had food in Turkey in differing areas many years and this is without doubt the best , the creamy chicken and moussaka 5 star plus even the feta salad outshone salads served around the UK Do yourself a favour go ! How a restaurant should be! We are local to the area and so happy to have found somewhere with attentive staff and an atmosphere that is difficult to find after the lockdowns. To feel like we are welcomed here as customers and nothing is too much trouble. We were a group of 4 and last minute they were able to accommodate 1 more person at our table with no problem. We will definitely be making the trip back to berwick to eat here again :-) thank you

Says it closes at 10pm, turned up at 9:20 and kitchen was too lazy to cook. Place had 6 covers when we arrived, stinking attitude when you try to support local businesses and they don’t want £40 on a Tuesday night

Just back from a short break in Berwick. Found this little Gem of a place, Ali Nazik dish recommended, and the staff are very attentive, a bit pricey but we’ll worth it.

Lunch menu good value at £14.95 for quality with good range of options for starter and main. The restaurant has a pleasant family feel. Unfortunately let down by the over priced non alcoholic refreshment - £9.2O for 2 X 330ml glass bottle Diet Cokes.

Absolutely superb food! Starter of sausage with chilli sauce and lamb skewer main. Lamb cooked to perfection and the chilli sauce/relish was amazing. A mouth-watering, smile-inducing taste experience in a tranquil atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Dreadful front of house staff rude and ignored my request for no sauce on kebab plus price gone up to £2 since last week £11 for take out - couldn’t eat as it was swimming in sauce - terrible experience don’t know the meaning of customer service and making people feel at ease - won’t be back - no wonder place was empty.

Busy little business… our table wasnt quite ready so we went to a local pub and the staff member come and got us when it was ready …good service. Food was very nice and fresh! Very hot too and tasty. One thing to watch out for, make sure they bring your change back from the bill, we would of tipped anyway but not to even bring change to the table was abit odd. Never the less good clean place to enjoy a nice meal. Would go back and try a different dish

My gluten free falafel starter was good. The potato skins with garlic was also tasty. Others had moussaka, chicken and lamb kabobs. They finished with baklava and a Turkish coffee. Everyone had a flavourful meal.

Excellent lunch at Mavi’s. It really is the best Turkish food I’ve had in a long time. The spice blends and levels are spot on and the portion size just right. Loved the service too. Will be returning soon.

We had booked a table for 6 on Sunday evening. When we arrived they were not ready for us, which would normally be okay, but the restaurant was empty, so a little annoying. The food was okay. I have had better Turkish food in Liverpool and Glasgow. The lamb was a little chewy and lacked depth of flavour. For £16 the lamb was not worth it. The salad dressing was unpleasant. The fries were delicious though. Others in the group enjoyed the casserole dishes better.

We have been here a few times as live locally, the food is always first class and the service is excellent the staff are lovely very friendly and welcoming.

First time here. It won't be the last. Some reviewers complain about the portions. I dined out with two strapping lads and we had to turn down dessert! We left satisfied and wowed by the flavours. Bargain lunch with a difference. Try the Monday to Thursday lunch menu. Two starters and one main for £10.95. If there are two of you then you can make up your own mixed meze. You might even try a small bottle of raki with it (like ouzu). The helpful staff are good at explaining the dishes if you are not familiar with Turkish food. Now that we have found MAVI we are making it a regular occurrence on our visits to Berwick.

Superb restaurant in the ever-improving Bridge Street area. Didn't look that big from the outside but we managed to get a table even on a Saturday night. The food was superb and the menu was pretty extensive, giving plenty of choice. The service was fast and friendly and we'd be happy to go back next time we're in Berwick.
