Have passed this place on many a visit to Chester & today decided to see what it had to offer. The thing I liked was there was a choice of 3 sizes of full breakfasts to choose from, I had the small one which was plenty for me.I have to say it was excellent the sausage was really tasty as was the rest of it.The owner was lovely & he works alone & very hard, everyone that came in after us didn't have to wait long for theirs either. It's also a takeaway which is handy if yr going out for the day with a meal deal on offer. It's all reasonably priced (a lot cheaper and better than some of the places I've had breakfast) I will definitely be using this cafe next time I visit Chester

If you want a decent breakfast then look no further in Chester in my opinion. I have eaten breakfast everywhere in Chester and nothing beats this place. Gorgeous bacon and sausages and nice thick toast. Makes me come back at least once a week for it.

After originally finding somewhere else we were going to eat and finding out they had power problems therefore no hot food we came upon this lovely cafe. Staff very friendly and cheery. Ordered 2 paninis, a hot chocolate and a pepsi. I like that you have the option of 3 variations of cheese on the paninis as well as choice of either a sandwich, roll, panini, toastie, wrap or baguette. With 10 options of fillings theres plenty to choose from as well as any combination you could think of. We had a tuna mayo with brie and a chicken and bacon with brie. Our paninis came packed full of filling with the cheese melted to perfection. Nice small accompanying salad - nothing special but just a little something. Extremely reasonable prices with our bill only being £10.40 - most places charging at least £4-5 for a panini as well as £2+ for hot chocolates the stage door cafe is very reasonable!! Absolutely excellent. May not be the modernist cafe but the food is fantastic. Highly recommended!

Visited here on an icy cold December day; we had come to visit the Christmas Market, and although a dry day it was bitter cold and we decided to have a bite to eat after seeing and smelling all the lovely food at the market. We noticed the stage door cafe across the road, it was quite quiet, so we decided to give it a try.

On our recent visit to Chester having booked in to our hotel we went looking around the city, as it was lunch time and feeling a bit peckish we called in at this cafe for something hot but simple, we both had the thai red chicken curry on a jacket potatoe, the potatoes are a good size but the curry was exceptional, with a good handful of salad on the side it turned out to be a hearty meal.

Visited this place early morning as was waiting for office to open and didn't want to go to one of the big brand coffee shops. Found this place by accident as intended venue wasn't open so early. This is a family run business and really shows as staff really care about the place. Very friendly and breakfast was delicious.

I was tempted in by the offer of 'toasties' on the outside billboard. The order was good value (I though to myself) at approximately £7s for two toasties, two drinks and two bags of crisps. All was going well until I opened the bag to discover, not the 1970s Breville golden standard of toasted sandwiches, but a very poor sub-par imitation. The bread was the cheapest white, the cheese was also poor quality and I can only surmise that the meat was mostly circus animal. If you're going there avoid the 'toasties'.

Visited this little cafe after a night out for my birthday and it was exactly what was needed. Ordered two medium fry-ups with 2 teas and it came to little over £10. The staff were friendly and attentive and the portion sizes were brilliant. Centrally located for the cathedral and city walls. Will come back if we are in Chester again!

Attended Saturday night quiz. Arrived at 7:00pm. Started with a glass of red wine and Mediterranean platter followed by a to die for cheesecake( all food freshly cooked by Jason ( chef ) and the team. Wolfed the cheese cake down and realised I hadn't took a picture. Had a few more vino's during the quiz along with some banter with Jason and the regular customers. All tables were booked and nice to see a full house. Made a change to the average Saturday night and will certainly do it again. Would recommend to call in prior for some brekky or lunch to book quiz any day before or on Saturday. Quiz moved on quicker than your normal pub quiz which was great with the light banter and no typical interruptions from pub scene. Didn't win the quiz but enjoyed trying.

Stumbled on this wonderful cafe as we were on our way home from a camping trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and were so welcoming and kind to my 5yo daughter. The food was amazing, we both had the breakfast and my daughter had a lunch box which she loved and I thought it was great value, when we went inside to pay we couldn't not buy one (or two) of the amazing cakes. So delicious. Thank you :)

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.

Not religious at all but like other reviewers found this true OASIS when looking for refreshment in Chester Just great, lovely staff and clientele and great quality and value coffee and cakes... Interesting selection of books, gifts, cards etc Would use regularly if we lived locally Staff say they may have to relocate soon due to "commercial development of the site" Surely the Church which is not short of funds can provide an alternative venue for this wonderful place which probably does more for spreading the religious message than many more traditional churches etc...something in the Cathedral Precinct maybe?? Good luck to you all and God bless ( if it helps)
