Absolutely appalled by this place the very plain average overcooked food was only made worse by the incredibly rude and abusive waitresses, witnessed one pecking her nose and eating it whilst serving food and taking orders and saw the other one being very rude and aggressive to a couple of people as they clearly couldn't handle their workload including screaming abuse and swearing at a young couple and their little girl causing the young one to cry. It was that bad we chose to leave and go somewhere else after my last visit was ruined again by the aggressive rude waitresses, made to feel unwelcome, poor to average food, bad service, abusive staff, needs a complete new staff and the food improving, shocked by what we saw won't be returning here at all

Best Sunday lunch had for awhile. You have a choice of 4/5 meats and there’s a veggie option. Myself and hubby chose the lamb it was so tender, it melted in your mouth, the veg was fresh and not the frozen stuff you normally get. The gravy was proper gravy. We have been here several times and never been disappointed.. well done Staff of Life..

Been for the last 2 Sundays, excellent lunch, lots of meat and fresh vegetables. Definitely would recommend. Very good service with unlimited vegetable and gravy. Lovely deserts too.

This seems to be a locals local packed with Stoke City Supporters and Horse racing fans. A decent pint and friendly staff great for a saturday or sunday afternoon pint with the lads.

If you're looking for a place to watch the game you won't find a better place in Stoke-on-Trent. The beer is good and the locals friendly. It's a little off the beaten track but worth the walk.

We were recommended here for the sunday lunches and as they now serve until 4 thought we would try it. Two dinners for £10, you can't go wrong. Extra veg was served on the side so definitely good value. The waitress served us at the table and was very pleasant. Yes it is an old back street pub, not far off 200 years old by all accounts, but thats what I also liked about it, still got the original features but bang on trend with a good range of real ales and the usual drinks. It also had high chairs so is child friendly and we did see families in earlier on. Will definitely visit again when we fancy a sunday dinner.

We came to stay at the Weathervane to visit family. We had an evening meal with family. 2 people had mixed grill. The gammon was cremated. Breakfast was all dried up. Bacon was cremated and egg dried up. The room was adequate, the fan in the bathroom was on all the time. On asking staff if it goes off? She said yes at 10pm. The fan was on all through the night keeping us awake all night. It looks like the last guest tried to stuff the fan with toilet paper on which I told the staff about. The sound on the TV went off and we reported it. On reflection the staff went out of her way to replace the TV and couldn’t do enough. All staff were very friendly. If we stayed again as it is in a great location, we would need to be assured we were in a different room where you cannot hear a bathroom fan going all night.

Disappointing. I made a visit nearly 3 weeks ago and the dishwasher was broken. It was paper cups only and food given in bags takeaway style. I've popped in again today and the dishwasher is still broken, also no pastries available because the bakery oven is also broken. The staff working there have reported both items, but nothing has happened apparently. It's beyond ridiculous. Better going to the nearby Costa above the Next store. Always lovely and always efficient.

Great pub. Staff brilliant. A little hidden gem.. entertainment nights are amazing. The laughs and jokes you have with staff are brilliant. You walk in a stranger and leave as family
