We had Christmas lunch here in 2018 and everything was ok so we booked again for 2019 only to have very disappointing experience. You would have thought that they would have gone out of their way to deliver a great lunch but sadly not. No welcome drink this year which was ok but for a special occasion I had expected one. The soup starter was cold and no bread was provided. The lunch was also cold, undercooked potatoes, plastic turkey and stone cold plates. We had to ask for vegetables and condiments as these were not offered. The fruit salad was certainly not fresh and over ripe, unfortunately the waitresses were not trained to deliver and there was certainly a lack of leadership. We all had empty glasses and no coffee was offered. Very disappointed with the entire experience and will not be returning, unfortunately they got it very wrong this year.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was really good. It felt relaxed and warm. Service was friendly and attentive. Soup was absolutely delicious but terrine tasted a little bland but was ok. Main courses were good and filling but choice is a little limited. Slightly expensive but within a reasonable range for a hotel like this.

Had a really awful meal here, it was served on cold plates, therefore the food was lukewarm. The table was dirty & sticky, had to ask for it to be wiped over. Would not recommend a visit, & I will not be returning

very expensive for what you recieved, the food was ok but not great, the hotel should be a great place to stay, the grounds, hotel itself no problem, but this should not be enough to hold things together.

My family and I had a three course meal here last night and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. The starters were generous and very tasty. The mains were also generous with everything tasting great from the sides to the meat, cooked just the way we asked. The desserts tasted great to. It felt like the high quality of the food came from high quality of the ingredients, the cooking and preparation, and also the recipes used. You get the feeling that the house and staff take pride in their work and want to deliver the best they can, and they certainly have. An example was the chocolate brownie for dessert. Simple but really well executed. The brownie itself was crunchie on the very outside, but melting in the middle. Super smooth. The chocolate sauce was thick, rich and generous, while the clotted cream ice cream was again smooth with the little firmer pieces to let you know that it was made with real clotted cream. All presented beautifully. The serving staff were also as equally as brilliant, delivering the food regularly, checking everything was OK, topping up drinks and generally making sure we had a fantastic time without being obtrusive. We are looking forward to going back again.

As we stayed at the hotel, we ate here in the evening. The set meals were reasonably priced and were of good quality. Portion sizes were more then adequate for us and the service given by all the staff was excellent. Drinks were average price for a hotel and we found the house wine to be fine. We had an excellent breakfast the following morning, with adequate choice and again very attentive, but not overbearing service. Thanks for to all the staff.

We only used the Restaurant, but it was excellent, superb food. I had the Roast Pork Belly and it was really good, portion size was spot on for me and the quality was superb. My Wife had the chicken and also thought it was really good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a really enjoyable evening.

Four of us ate an evening meal here while staying at the Hever Hotel. The menu was quite varied and the meals we ordered well cooked and presented. The service was excellent even though we had to be served in a function room because of a flood in the usual dining area. We thought the food was good value for money.

The menu at the Stables Restaurant in the Hever Hotel is quite short but nevertheless manages to cater for a wide spread of preferences. We ate here two nights in a row as we were staying in the hotel. The dishes we chose were all beautifully prepared and presented. The gin cured salmon was a revelation (and we eat a lot of cured salmon), absolutely delicious and subtly gin flavoured. The belly of porky was perfectly cooked (although the portion a bit too large even for my serious appetite), and the accompanying savoy cabbage with pancetta and a touch of mustard in the sauce was a coup. The butternut squash risotto was also excellent. The wine list is also short, but well-chosen with reasonable prices. All in all our meals were thoroughly enjoyable enhanced by excellent service from happy staff. At £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 courses this was the best value I have experienced in a long time.

Came away feeling very well satisfied. Extremely pleasant staff and very efficient service. Not a massive choice on the menu, but more than enough to cater for everyone's taste buds, surely. Result - chef benefits and so do we. Everything was hot and tasty.

Lovely and hot two course meal. Fairly limited choice. Drinks expensive. Helpful and attentive staff. Nice music in the background although all we could hear was chef calling 'service'!

2 hours we waited for our main meal, ridiculous, and then they ran out of some of the food. Not worth the aggravation

The Hever Hotel is part of the Hever Golf complex. Therefore I attended with no great expectations for a evening business meeting followed by dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. This isn't fine dining - but the service was good and the dinner excellent. Balanced menu, nicely presented tasty food. Attentive, friendly staff. Inexpensive wine list. It delivers what it sets out to do -serve the middle market modestly but well.

Visited the cafe in April. It has a nice feel, generally good service and whilst the food was good quality - the prices are still very excessive for the portion sizes and the full package of what is served. The ingredients may well be locally sourced, but alot of other establishments could say the same and for at least a third of these prices. £9 for a bowl of soup is inexplicable and also think it is unfair to ask customers to pay additional for gluten free bread when a great many coastal towns in Kent are fully geared up for GF customers and do not charge extra.

Have been to Brands loads of times but never eaten in the kentagon up until now, pleasantly surprised when we decided to try the breakfast. Good value taking today’s prices into account and quality ingredients cooked well. Did have to queue up but the service was quite speedy, it was nice to sit down and eat / warm up on a cold January day.

Honestly one of the best curries I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot! Ordered from them multiple times but the Korma, Balti and Passanda are amazing. Thank you guys
