Called with our little dog so sat outside. Plenty of outdoor seating and lovely to watch and feed all the little birds - very tame. Ordered two jacket potatoes - one with tuna and cheese, the other with beans and cheese. Both were served with salad and were cooked beautifully. The daughter had cheese and ham toastie which came with a few crisps. Two hot drinks and a can of Fanta all for less than 18. Very good value for money and would highly recommend

My partner enjoyed her bacon and egg muffin, while the only improvement that could have been made to my fresh crab sandwich, would have been to have another one.The only downside was the cafe latte didn't taste much different from the Americano, but I'm sure that the machine could be adjusted to provide a better coffee. There is outdoor seating if the weather is good and dogs are welcome. When you cross the causeway, check out The Stables.

Visited for an afternoon snack very little room inside with all of the tables squashed together the tables outside had slightly more room. The lady was working on her own so you had to queue around the tables inside making it uncomfortable for the people sitting in the inside tables as the queue is right behind you very off putting. As she was on your own so had to clear your own table which we didn't mind doing however as a result the dirty trays built up and they ended up being put on the tables inside beside people who were eating. As you had to clear your own table this meant that the tables were not disinfected before you sat down. Hopefully this was a one off but if this is regular then it is not the best. The food was ok but the cordial had very little flavour.Other customers were very obnoxious (not the owners fault I know) but we had previously been in another cafe (1st class food) on the island and the customers were a lot better and the food and drink was much better.

We needed a cup of tea before heading home after visiting the island. We decided to try this place.I was not impressed. Sure, there is a nice area outside with tables that are visited regularly by birds. But the tea was a disappointment; the teapot lid didn't fit so spilled all over the table when upturned to pour it. The cheese scone I ordered had very little evidence of cheese in it. The butter pats were so cold they were not spreadable. To cap it all, we had to take the tray to our table, and then clear away the cups etc afterwards! As for the facilities, the toilet stank of cigarette smoke.

Quaint, homely little cafe/tea shop. Really good coffee and tea, and the scones excellent (often disappointing in other places, can be quite a gamble). Chocolate cake was pronounced 'one of the best' by small daughter!Maybe the decor is a bit old-fashioned and needs updating but it's the quality of the food/drinks that is really important. I would agree with other reviews about the 'notices' stuck around everywhere but if the lady owner is there on her own as it appears, there is no other way to deal with the busy times. She was far more efficient, calm and welcoming than another experience we had in Craster where there were 5 times as many staff, had to wait ages for a simple order, and then the food was inedible (see other review).

This looked like a nice little cafe when we walked in but nothing else lives up to this.Ordered a Ham and cheese sandwich and a tuna melt. Both perfectly decent sandwiches but that's it. Charging £4.50+ is extortionate. The only things that were reasonably priced that we had where the drinks. Although I fear the glass of diet coke I orders came from a 2ltr bottle was it seemed flat on arrival. The women who brought our food out didnt look very happy either and was chewing gum with her mouth open. Also drinks were served with the food which meant a 10-15 minute wait (after being served) with nothing. I'm sure if asked we could have had our drinks right away. I have never seen them served that way before. There are plenty of other little cafes and pubs and would advise people to give this a miss. Just as we were leaving we saw another little cafe with pretty much the same food but was £1odd less cheaper (unfortunatly didn't catch the name)This cafe was a dissapointment for me. When we arrived the coffee shop was quite full, although the sun was shining it was a tad cold to sit outside, which was a shame as the garden seating area is very pretty indeed. On a warm day it would be fantastic. They had clearly been very busy and there seemed to be only two women there, glancing at some of the other reviews they might want to enlist some more help before the school summer holidays! However, this did not affect us at all, we were served promptly and seated comfortably. I had a speciality tea, which was from a teabag but of good quality. My mother and daughter both had fruit juices which did not taste like the 'from concentrate' type although I did not check the labels. The real star of the show here is the baking. We had the chocolate brownies. They were perfect; rich, gooey, wonderful and just the right size of slice - any more would have been sickly. I heard other customers praise the baking and the display counter was full of wonderful looking goodies, all made by the lady who was serving us. This tucked away place is a hidden gem, if they are too busy to seat you when you get there, either get the cake to take away or come back later!

After waiting 20 minutes we ordered a pot of tea and asked for some hot water as I like my tea weak, to which she replied that it would cost an extra 60p !! I've never been charged for hot water with a pot of tea and felt it was greedy of her to charge. I'm glad we didn't order food as the speed she made the sandwiches and the basic way it was presented ie no garnish and just plain white bread didn't look appetising and expensive for the £4.50 she was charging. It's a shame as the tea-shop is cosy.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.
