I had the best ever eggs benedict with spinach and smoked salmon. I can still taste it! Freshly squeezed orange juice on request. Others in the party had vegetarian option, standard breakfasts, scrambled eggs and toast. Hot, strong tea and coffee all prepared and served by the delightful staff in the kitchen. No hurrying us out. Other customers welcoming and friendly. Excellent value for money, too! Now opening at 10.30am - Ladies' hours!! Must go more often!!

I am a regular here and absolutely love the atmosphere of this Community Cafe. The food is prepared by the kindest of volunteers and is of a very high quality at very low prices. Wonderful breakfasts, two sizes available and vegetarian option too. Now and then the menu is updated to include trendy options such as smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and eggs florentine. This is a peaceful little haven with wonderful service - very, very well worth a visit.

Probably one of the cheapest and best breakfasts in Brighton, albeit only on 3 days of the week. Very friendly people and an embarrassing level of service given the prices. Menu could be a bit wider but do bear in mind this is not being run like a commercial operation, and it must surely help those who are trying to survive on limited budgets, so I try to pay a bit more.....

St. Michael's Cafe in Brighton offers very warm and welcoming staff, a very good breakfast at an affordable price. The timings perhaps are limited with Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday hours only. They have accommodating facilities and they are situated in the heart of Brighton and yet with a solid degree of exclusivity. As far as decor goes it is a very basic Church cafe but with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I am found the cleanliness to be more than satisfactory but did not see a food hygiene rating. I would recommend anyone in the area pay a visit to the cafe on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday but do remember to bring cash, as they do not have the facilities to accommodate payment by card but for the price it should not be that hard to scrounge together some change as a super full English fetches just £4.00 including coffee.

One of my favourite cafes for a good breakfast which always sets me up for the day ahead but unfortunately wife won't let me eat there every day..! Incredibly good value with very friendly staff and customers. Good quality and quantity with the best freshly squeezed orange juice in Brighton. It also has a nice little book corner and a garden.

Although just down the road from the Office, i had only been here myself a couple of times before, but colleagues go regularly. A recent business meeting with customers, prompted the idea to start the meeting with breakfast at this hidden gem of a lovely cafe within the Church grounds. Good no nonsense breakfasts, served by a lovely group of ladies and gents. All the food is cooked to order, so its best to pre-order if time is at a premium. Dave Smith

The dedicated ladies in the cafe provided a superb breakfast for a party of 14 of us and organised a tour of the beautiful and historic St Michael's Church. The menu ranged from salmon and scrambled eggs to full English, to toast and croissants. Everything you could wish for accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee. To cap that, the prices are so reasonable. If you are visiting Brighton, it is worth the walk up from the seafront and if you are local, you should explore this hidden gem!!
