We found this tea room using trip advisor after a delayed flight pick up at the airport. Fantastic service from the minute we stepped into the garden, the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was freshly made. We chose the savoury tea, homemade cheese scones. Delicious 😊

The perfect cream tea! Absolutely beautiful garden, bursting with flowers and a very friendly Robin who was happy to steal a few scone crumbs! We visited on a Friday afternoon, and ordered two cream teas and a scone and a brownie for my two children. We were served our tea in lovely floral crockery, the scones and the brownie were homemade and tasted delicious! It was put second visit, having previously visited when my son was a toddler and my daughter was a baby. We had such lovely memories of the tea room and returning 10 years later all four of us absolutely loved it. It’s a gorgeous location, friendly and welcoming with a fantastic menu which is focused on quality, homemade treats. We will be recommending to all friends and family, 10/10 well worth a drive over.

Stumbled upon the tea rooms after visiting The Japanese Gardens. What a treat! The garden was beautiful and full of gorgeous flowers. The outside seating was full so we sat indoors. It was very warm but there were electric fans. The conservatory is lovely and quirky, perfect setting for a cream tea. The staff were really friendly and chatty. I thoroughly enjoyed my cream tea and the pot of tea with extra hot water was good too (no skimping on the teabags like some establishments!).

Impromptu visit after exploring nearby Japanese Garden. Pub stopped serving food at 14:00 so as this was next door, thought we would give it a go… Ordered: Traditional cream tea with a Cappuccino and a Thunder and Lightning cream tea. When people state it is home-made there is a possibility it isn’t but these…. TO DIE FOR! They arrived within a couple of minutes of ordering and both were straight out of oven. Not dry, moorish and totally delish!! Owners are definitely interested in their clients and want to ensure they give the best experience. We weren’t disappointed. Shame we live in Kent otherwise we would visit weekly! 10/10

We went to the village to see the Japanese gardens (very good) and went to the tea rooms after for lunch, Tuesday September 6th. We sat in the gardens avoiding the odd heavy shower. The garden is sublime, the service was excellent and the food scrummy. Its about a 5 minute walk from the gardens to the Tea House and you will not be disappointed if you luxuriate outside in amongst the flowers and have a delightful lunch, thank you to the staff at the Tea Rooms for what was to us a surprisingly superb lunch.

We went in the afternoon for a light bite.My husband had the teacake which came with pre-wrapped butter pats- there wasn't enough for him...he likes a lot of butter. My daughter had the kids beans on toast and I had the cream tea (£6.95) which was average - despite the jam being home-made. It's hard to go too wrong with cream teas and I possibly expected more of this one because of other reviews. The welcome wasn't very welcoming or friendly. The tables are fairly close together. Our table tilted and wobbled and we had to put a napkin under the leg to stop it dancing around. The tearoom itself is a lean-to/conservatory on the side of the building/shop. It creates an echo and it's noisy if a few people are talking - it's not tranquil or terribly comfortable. The good things - it's quirky which I liked. They sold old Enid Blyton books and twee plates. It's located in an abolsoutely beautiful village witih a little stream running through it and an old church opposite.

Varied menu for lunch or afternoon tea. If you order a sandwich, be warned, it comes with a huge side salad, home made crisps, and home made chutney - which you can buy in the shop. Excellent value. The setting of this tea room is idyllic - in the conservatory and garden to the rear of the village shop in a picturesque village near Newquay. The garden is immaculate, and in summer very colourful with borders filled with begonias. My wife and I ordered cream teas, and the tea itself is served, as it should be, in a big china pot with a pot of hot water to top it up. Our scones, however, were a little underwhelming: we've tasted better in other tea rooms. Mine was a fruit scone, and there wasn't a great deal of fruit in it. On the other hand, there were lashings of jam and cream: no complaint there. So I think this is certainly a good tea room, and I'd come again: it's worth visiting if only for the garden. But I don't think it's the very best one I've ever been in.

The delightful gardens are planted up beautifully, flowers in full bloom with amazing colours, I cannot think of a better place to visit. Everything is immaculate and has been very well thought out, the bone china teacups, the most amazing (huge) sweet light scones with lashings of clotted cream and jam, it’s just not like any other cream tea. Even the thoughtful touches in the loo such as a proper towel , quality soap and baby wipes all indicate they have their guests experience at the heart of everything they do - and they do it well. Met a friend here yesterday for what was going to be for tea and cake. Having see the sandwiches were being made for other diners we decided so go for a sarny as well. The choice of food became hard to make a decision to which I finally managed. The service was outstanding, the ladies couldn't have been more helpful. I was desperate for a piece of coffee cake to which the lady kindly put together sooner than planned so I was able to take it away. The décor, service, food is amazing so if you are in the area definitely visit here. I know I will be back since it's only down the road for me :) Thank you x

Visited this quant village 1 mile from Newquay airport, where we had afternoon tea. We can certainly recommend this café where the service was excellent and the food delicious plus the scones were to die for, and all home made. If in the area it's a must to call and sample the food. Explore the gardens!!!!

Certainly a place to visit on a warm sunny day , as we did.Their gardens are beautiful ,how they have managed to keep them so in the very hot summer we have had I don't know. There is a pleasant conservatory if you are not so lucky with the weather.Lovely vintage China and bits and pieces for sale.Very pleasant staff.I had the savoury scone tea and my friend the traditional jam and cream both delicious and served with a decent size pot off tea.I have put very good rather than excellent as I thought their cakes let them down. Not a great deal off choice and not all were homemade. However ,cakes apart I would certainly visit again.

Just had The Drake and the Mrs Perryman. Both came with plenty of chips, the actual duck dishes were outstanding, really nice. We will be returning to try another dish when we return next year. We were lucky to have crispy skin as well. We spotted the sign for the duck Truck while we were driving to our cottage in Tintagel and decided to give it a go during our stay. We were not disappointed. Top local produce, by the farmer. Keep up the good work, we'll be back
