Best pasties and rolls in St Mawes,. When the sun is out nowhere better in St Mawes. The staff are lovely. Jane the owneris makes you welcome. I like seeing the pasties and bread brought on a large tray from the actial bakery round the corner. You can wait for the ferry to take you to Falmouth have a coffee or tea a bit of excellent food and then embark. A must go to location if in St Mawes

I've eaten a lot of pasties in my time from all across the country. I've chomped on cheese and onion in Chingford, I've bitten into beef in Beamish, and I've polished off pastries in Paignton. I've also had a fair few genuine, traditional Cornish pasties, but the steak pasties I had here today was a clear winner. The crispy pastry was cooked to perfection, with no soggy bottom. There were big lumps of dark, tender steak that actually tasted of beef. It was packed out with tasty vegetables, that weren't dry, nor were they overly wet, causing that leakage issue you sometimes get in inferior pasties. For a quick snack, this became a highlight of my life.

We had stopped to ask if there was a butchers in the town, we was told no but you can order meat from here. On the Wednesday morning we went in and asked if we could order 6 beef burgers , and some chicken, the chap took the order and said delivery is about 4, we close at 4.30, I went back at 3 on the off chance it maybe delivered, was told no come back at 4, or you could come first thing in morning, i said we want them for today, he said “ they will definitely be in.” I sent my son at 4, the chap said “come back at 4.30. My son went back 4.29 he said “ we are closed,” we have come for the meat ordered, He said come back at 4.30 i don’t know where it is….another lady also had come to pick up some meat, and was also disappointent, so i wouldn’t order any meat from here, get what is in the fridge or go to the butchers.

Wow! Hands down, the best pasties we have ever had in Cornwall. Warm, tasty, crispy and full of tender meat. The coffee was also fab. But the best thing is the staff, the staff are so friendly. The owner gave us two free tea cakes for being kind and giving up our seats for an elderly couple, totally unexpected but so awesome. What a fantastic, family bakery. We will visit every time we are in St Mawes! Thank you for just being the most awesome bakery!

We have been staying in st mawes for a few days. Not quite sure what happened today . Pastry tough, not traditional filling. And jam doughnuts that looked overcooked but trusted experts however with a cup of tea later were overcooked and greasy. The plain scone was nice. Is it because it's the end of season.

Quite possibly the best pasty I have ever had. Lived in Cornwall for 50 years and tried them all. The only thing that could improve it in any way would be a greater generosity with the pepper. Pastry was flaky and tasted great. Filling generous, tasty and baked to perfection. If you try nothing else when in St Mawes, try one of these.

We took a ferry to St Mawes from Falmouth to do a round trail. We were really stressed for time as had a ferry to catch. However quick Googling recommended St Mawes bakery. It is very unassuming from the outside. Lovely lady assured us that there were still few steak pasties left, only 20 minutes from the oven. We bought one each. Oh my God! It was unbelievably good! Fluffy and crunchy pastry with lots of meaty filling. I can’t say I’ve had anything like that before despite eating pasties in many recommended places. Really regretted when consumed last piece!

I’d like to support a local enterprise, but these are not either the best pasties or the best scones in St Mawes. The pasties suffer from poor ingredients, which probably makes them more authentic (the pasties the tin miners ate originally were unlikely to have contained prime beef), but not as good as others you can get in St Mawes. Try Mr Scorse at the deli. He’ll heat them up for you. For scones, pay a bit more and get them at Da Barra.

Located on the harbour, next to the short stay parking. There was a bit of a queue, but worth the wait.We had a steak and cheese pasty. They were delicious!! £7.80 for the two pasty’s, but they were yummy, large, piping hot and more than enough food for a lunch. As they now serve at the door, bit more difficult to see what is on offer and prices. They make and bake the pasties at their nearby bakery and transport them to here. My husband has never been a pasty 'fan' until the owner walk passed us carrying a fresh baked tray of traditional Cornish Pasty's.. The delicious aroma got to us, we weakened and thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu purchase. The pastry was crumbly, cooked to perfection, the beef good quality - no gristle, and best of all the filling was made up of lots of potato, onion, a little swede & well seasoned. The centre was definitely NOT stuffed with an overload of cheap, tasteless root veg.Was so good we returned 3 times.

I returned thinking my first impression must have been wrong given the number of stellar reviews on here but my second visit was worse than the first. The one redeeming feature of the pasty is the meat but that’s not good enough for me to return a third time.
