A very mixed experience in a cafe I used to love and have brought quite a few people over time. The lovely woman who showed me to my table and then organised a quiet spot was super helpful and charming. She even gave me some flowers when I left. My server Ajin however messed up the breakfast order, only bringing half of the ordered items and even these at different times. I had to wait 20 minutes for some water and ask three times. Yogurt was served with knife and fork! When omissions and mistakes were pointed out, he claimed it wasn’t his fault but in any case he would try not to forget things in the future which wasn’t much help for me. He still charged for service and didn’t adjust the bill which -given that I am a regular -I found disappointing. I have a future booking but not sure now whether to keep it.

I often go to The Ivy Cafe, and my favorite is definitely the one in Marylebone. The menu has many options and the dishes are always delicious, not to mention the beautiful ambiance. The waiters are friendly and helpful, but depending on the day the food can take a while to arrive. On my last visit, I booked a table for brunch and loved my experience! I ordered a variation of eggs benedict with avocado, which was delicious.

A place worth visiting! The food was bursting with flavor, the portions were great, and the service was welcoming. Definitely one of the best restaurants in town!

This cafe is a little gem of Marylebone. Located in the quiet alley near other restaurants and cute shops, it is so lovely itself. Absolutely corresponds to its history and overall idea. Great place for breakfast or brunch, I definitely recommend eggs royale with salmon and flat white on oat milk. Staff is attentive and service is very quick. We’ve been here many times, and all times but one everything was just perfect.

I’m sad to write this review but I feel I must as the service was so poor when we visited on Friday. We ordered the eggs royale and the English muffins were completely stale. When we mentioned this to our waiter he simply shrugged his shoulders and said he would tell the manager. There was no further mention of it or apology. When we spoke to the manager he accused us of eating the muffin yet complaining about it, as if we were trying to fleece the place by requesting some compensation. Actually what we were requesting was an apology and better service. Of course we had to taste the muffins otherwise we wouldn’t have known that they were stale. Once established that they were indeed very stale we stopped eating them and the remainder was left on the plate. To be accused in this manner was rude and upsetting and the wrong way to treat customers. Sadly we will take our custom elsewhere and won’t be recommending this branch to our family and friends of which we have many in the area. Sorry The Ivy, you have let us down on this occasion.

Wonderful place,food and service! Sadly I didn’t take any food pictures as I was too busy chatting away but got a couple before the food and my friend arrived.

The set breakfast menu and the folded omelette were amazing. Loved the "green juice" that came with the set menu. The ambience was great, with lots of cute pictures on the wall and lite music in the background. The service was fantastic. We have allergy to cinnamon and sesame, which was well taken care of with patience and care. Will definitely come back next time we're in London!

I went there with my friend, the food and the service was excellent. The ambiance not really because was very busy with a lot of people and tables very close to each other. 5* to Camila our head waitress:)

We ate outside on the terrace, the weather was perfect, served by an adorable chef. The dishes were delicious, I recommend +++ Pss: their express tiramisu-style martini cocktail is delicious!

Absolutely appalling experience! We were taken to our table for breakfast and were then ignored for about 20 mins. Later arrivals were served ahead of us. It was as if we had become invisible. We knew what to order as we often enjoy breakfast near our home at The Chelsea Ivy on King’s Road. We had to nab a waiter to take our order after such a long period of waiting. This is where the experience deteriorated badly. We placed our orders for two full English breakfasts with two oat milk cappuccinos. At that point, the waiter told us that a full breakfast could be a problem given we had sought oat milk coffees. He asked if, given that we required oat milk, if either of us had any allergies to which we answered that one of us was allergic purely to cow’s milk. He bristled and adopted an arrogance which had to be seen to be believed telling us in no uncertain terms that it was not the policy of the restaurant to serve full breakfasts if a customer had an allergy! It was utterly bizarre. He went away to the kitchen only to return parroting the same ‘policy’. It was akin to Fawlty Towers. We told him we were not seeking the breakfasts to be cooked in cow’s milk so questioned the rationale of his allergy observation! He refused to budge on this point saying the chef would not agree to our order whereupon we got up and left. He seemed unperturbed by our leaving and made no attempt to defuse the situation but we will not be returning! Dreadful behaviour!

Overall: ★★★★☆ Food: European A nice, reliable branch of The Ivy and a worthy four stars. A lovely warm welcome and good prompt service was only let down by the breakfast which sadly lacked flavour. That said I would definitely give it another go and try something else. Otherwise everything else was really good. What I liked: • Really friendly, attentive service • Buzzing atmosphere (even at breakfast) • Reasonable price point • Good presentation What I didn’t like: • I thought the breakfast was underwhelming • Coffee not as smooth as I like with a slightly bitter aftertaste Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? YES Price Point: $$

Food is great but it is quite noisy in comparison to other Ivy restaurants

Today we celebrated my daughter birthday in the restaurant a big thank you to Naz who was very attentive and very professional service . Naz made our holiday more pleasant and festive.

There is a restaurant called The Ivy in Los Angeles. Stupid me, I assumed they were related. They are not. This is a cheap knock off with horrible food and even worse waitstaff. The lobster linguine was made with packaged linguine and a bottled sauce. The lobster had a horrible taste as if it were Mexican rock lobster. The staff forgets what is going on and they do not check on you. You have to stand up and chase them down. This place is absolutely garbage. I am sorry. The food is disappointing and the staff is horrible. Please just go someplace else. 80 quid for 1 is usually ok by me, but this was worth 15 quid. Mc Donald’s. STAY AWAY

Nice spot for breakfast! The egg Benedict with smashed avocado was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented. The coffee was good too, complementing the meal perfectly. The staff were welcoming and friendly, greeting guests warmly. The café itself has a classic and cozy ambiance, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Its been years since i had breakfast at the original IVY, so i was mildly disapointed with my visit. On the plus side; lovely people and good location. Sadly though the food was ok, but not prepared to a quality anticipated for the price.

Found this stunning restaurant in the ceaselessly chic Marylebone neighboorhood. Great British staples like the classic shepherd’s pie or the traditional fish and chips makes this place perfect for people discovering the cuisine. Combined with precise and personal service from our waiter Haythem, makes this a TOP experience. Oh and did I mention that the prices are fair? We will be returning! Thank you!

Absolutely terrible experience, service slow and lazy ..all the food for six people was straight out of a freezer and tasted bad. Really extremely bad and we were not impressed. In fact I'm now sick for the last two days as a consequence of their off packeted food old frozen meat .. I should be refunded

Had a very bad let down today. I had the cheese and ham omelette. I chose it because I love melted cheese. The omelette had hardly any cheese and the ham was horrible. Really disappointed. My friend had English breakfast. I

Had a work lunch there. The service from the moment we walked in throughout the whole lunch was great. I could see the management cares about providing very good service. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant was buzzing during the lunch time.

Pleasurable ambiance and good service, as always in Ivy restaurants. The food is nothing to crave about: Adequate but obviously not something particular, especially when you think how much you pay. Also my steak was very difficult to chew. To the credit of the restaurant, when they realized that I did not enjoy my steak, they proposed to bring me another. Looking forward for better value for money and more passionate cooking.

Our "go to" restaurant in London. Fabulous salt-crusted sourdough bread. Great steak too. Friendly service and great decor reminiscent of Manet's "A Bar at the Folies-Bergeres" at the Courtauld Gallery.

Great pre Christmas dinner, with fun dessert

Fantastic atmosphere, outstanding decorations and lovely to see such an effort for New Year's Eve.

The food was overrated, nothing extraordinary, but the service and ambiance were excellent. We visited to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. We ordered several dishes, but none were especially noteworthy: Stilton and Walnut Cheese Soufflé, Zucchini Fritti (very greasy), Truffle and Parmesan Chips, Fillet of Beef, Foraged Wild Mushroom and Truffle Linguine and The Ivy Snowman brownie dessert (looks pretty, but has no flavour the gü at tesco is better).

Lovely food, lovely place. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will recommend to friends. Travelling back to Midoands and was just under a 20 minute walk to Marylebone Station so very handy

The food had good quality standards and had a nice atmosphere. However, the Shepherds Pie was as small as an entre. Also, you have to order sides separately for your steak or main course. The drink menu is disappointing and substandard. The pale ale was tastless and served in frozen cold beer mugs, just like in any chain restaurant in the USA. The port was austere and nothing special. The prices are relatively high for what you are getting.

Didn’t have a reservation however we were offered a seat at the bar which I had no issues with initially. Then were kind of ignored for quite a long time and then eventually we were asked if we wanted anything which considering how long we’d waited was a daft question. Food came and the burgers were decent and portion size enough. The staff tried to clear the table whilst partner was still eating and then she offered dessert when it was clear he was still eating his main. My biggest issue was more the manager in a grey suit and a greasy style combover who was micro managing and berating the staff at the bar constantly which was making my partner and I really uncomfortable. There was no need for any of it to be done in public view. He really needs to relax a little and support staff. Not a pleasant dining experience at all.

Worth a try, nice breakfast place

Nice friendly staff, and efficient service throughout. However, the food was underwhelming and disappointing. Flavourless and over-battered tempura squid starter. Fish & Chips main came with all the trimmings, but the cod fillet was thin, and batter very greasy. I keep forgetting not to bother with Fish&Chips in London restaurants, but I always like to see if this option can be elevated by using the best ingredients and execution; better stick to proper chippies for this in future. My partner was also not bowled-over. The Ivy not great for me on this occasion, but it's a very popular joint, so what do I know? Nice atmosphere and evening ambience. Nice location in Marylebone. Very busy.

Great place to people watch. Food was just OK, not as good as other Ivy's I've been to. My fish was not fresh. Service was attentive, although I was asked to repeat my order 3 times. Overall, not up to usual Ivy Cafe standards.

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at The Ivy Cafe Marylebone. We were running very late for our 1pm booking due to train issues. They called at 1:10 to see if we were still coming and said they would hold it. We finally arrived at 1:30 and they had unexpectedly still held our table despite a queue of people wanting a table without booking. Even then they did not rush us, and we had a fantastic meal and experience.

The food was amazing, and the staff were all fab. I will definitely be returning.

One of the best Ivy Cafe's and apart from a consistent standard of food, reassuringly, delightful staff and attentiveness, tho' tbh some expectations from either outside of, or local can be somewhat unreasonable but hey, be nice and you're gonna have a lovely time. We had a girls Christmas brunch. The Ivy cafe was the perfect venue for our occasion. The atmosphere was so Christmassy and allowed us to take many fabulously festive photos. The staff were a class act! Especially our server Kate, who made our day. Food was yummy, as always. Cocktails were a highlight too! 🍸🍹

Not a great place for vegans. I had the vegan burger and it was probably one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had, while at the same time being one of the most expensive - barely any sauce and a mushy patty lacking flavour. They obviously don’t care about making their vegan options as tasty as the other food, which is disappointing. Plus the only vegan dessert option was sorbet - yawn.

We had late lunch at 3 pm. The staff are extremely courteous and accomodating. We had the 2 course set menu (starter, main) and added the dessert. Nice food and presentation. The photos show the buffalo mozzarella (starter), salmon rillette (starter), pan fried chicken (main), and chocolate brownie.

This cafe is my favourite cream tea place! I often take my friends. The serving is so pretty. Scone is perfect texture and fluffy inside. Price is reasonable. I had ordered other food but they were good. Always busy but nice place.

I've eaten at two The Ivy's in London. The decorations are equally luxurious and beautiful, and the food is average to above average, not terrible but not super delicious either. Side dishes like the Sunday roast are ok but the meat is so dry that I can hardly bite it🥲The shepherd’s pie is very good, and my friend said the fish and chips are also good👍

My partner and I held our wedding reception at The Ivy Café, following a ceremony at the Town Hall. We booked the place out and had around 65 people in attendance. We worked with Jess from the Ivy events team to plan it. The experience was fantastic. From the calm and helpful planning process, through to the day itself, we felt well looked after and reassured that everything was being taken care of. We were able to create our own food menu to give our guests some choice. Everyone was raving about the food, which was nice to hear and a testament to the quality of The Ivy’s menu development and cooking. We created a small menu for the bar too, which was fun. We decorated with our own flowers, we were able to play our own music and there were some great canapés and drinks on arrival. Overall, we all had a really fun and lovely time and couldn’t recommend The Ivy Café enough, whether just for a meal, a larger booking or a private event. Alessandro (Restaurant Manager) and the team are all exceptional. This restaurant is now very special to us. Thank you to The Ivy team, you’re the best.

Excellent lunch experience at Ivy! I visited a lot of Ivy branches but this will be one of my faves. Amazing food and to top up our beautiful lunch the service was excellent . Xeni was very helpful for the meny and his service was definetly five stars , well done Keep up the good work🥰coming back soon!!

Food and service excellent. Quite expensive but there is a brand premium. Wine could be better eg a NV blended white lacking taste at £40 best removed from menu.

Great place for breakfast! The food was delicious, and the service – especially Xeni – was super friendly and attentive. Thanks to the beautiful decorations, you get a pre-Christmas atmosphere even in November. Highly recommended!

Josh is an excellent manager, there was an issue with my steak and he went above and beyond to sort it out for me. Very thoughtful and excellent customer service! Will definitely return.

Dined at the Ivy with my best friend and the food was amazing! What was even better was the incredible staff - Naz specifically was the greatest waiter I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Everything he recommended was perfection, was very attentive, and wonderfully charming. Kate was also amazing! First of all, obsessed with her pinstriped suit but also, she was so welcoming, sweet and funny! Food and drinks were delicious, and the chocolate bombe dessert is not one to miss! Great experience, would come here again!
