Lovely food, but so popular, the noise levels made it hard to talk!

Very busy and noisy at lunchtime. Tables are very close, Service not that great but food good from the heritage menu.

I have eaten at this cafe several times over the past decade, but on this occasion we left disappointed. 1) We were a party of three, all having ordered medium rare steaks two of which were cooked to perfection; the third, however, was "well done" and both the waiter and manager acknowledged that the meat was not as ordered but suggested we eat it, anyway. Really! 2) The waiter was pleasant and friendly, but did not know how to pour wine. On several occasions, he reached across our plates (and food) to pour. I expect better when paying more than GBP 100 per person.

Great food but poor service on Monday evening at 7. Arrogant waiter who kept interrupting the table, and smirked at us as if he was laughing at us or judging us. Shame, because the food was great.

Tucked away on a charming block in the heart of Marylebone, IV Restaurant offers a beautifully designed space that’s both elegant and welcoming. We had originally come for breakfast but arrived just after the cutoff at 11:30. Fortunately, the lunch menu offered satisfying alternatives — both dishes we chose featured a perfectly cooked fried egg and were hearty and flavorful. Note to travelers: The staff kindly stored our bags during lunch (as we had just checked out of our lodging), which made the experience all the more relaxed and enjoyable. One small hiccup: my latte was served in a tall glass cappuccino cup that I’m not a fan of — and it arrived with a lipstick stain on the rim. To the staff’s credit, the waiter quickly apologized, brought me a fresh latte in a proper cup, and removed it from the bill without hesitation or my asking. As for the bill itself, lunch for two came to around £90 — a bit more than I expected — but given the quality of the food, the thoughtful service, and the lovely ambiance, I'm not complaining. A delightful and delicious experience overall.

Whilst recently visiting London, I stopped by The Ivy Cafe Marylebone for dinner. The restaurant is smaller than other Ivy restaurants that I've visited before, but this certainly added to its charm. There was also some live music whilst I was there, which was excellent and really added to the atmosphere. As with all the Ivy restaurants I've visited, the service was exemplary. Our waiter throughout the meal was friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent too, and the value of the Sunday Steak Supper is unparalleled. I honestly don't think you would find a steak as good, alongside a glass of wine and a side, for under £20 in London! Overall, the whole meal was fantastic from start to finish, and I would highly recommend a visit. I would suggest booking in advance if you can, as they do get very busy!

Typical Ivy menu with reliable everyday menu well prepared and delicious Service was ok but it is very noisy to the point of making conversation very difficult. I without go back for that reason

Good food with very good service

Took mother and aunty here for a birthday lunch. The service was excellent we were made to feel extremely welcomed by everyone and all staff had a lovely smile to engage with us. Decor is really pretty and spacious. Food was good. We had poached eggs with avocado, one with salmon and a burger. All came with thick chips. It was very nice We shared the creme brulee for dessert which was fantastic

What a wonderful experience we had here. The welcome was incredibly friendly. The setting is incredible, with every detail thought out to create a chic and cozy atmosphere. The refinement and service of the food exceeded our expectations. The value for money is definitely worth it! Xeni, our server, served us with great humor and lightness. Go for it! The seats are so crowded that you are close to the person next to you. The service wasn't bad, but the food wasn't as delicious as I expected.

We had an early dinner and while the food was generally good, I was disappointed with the cleanliness between courses. The staff did not clean the table after clearing the dishes. For a restaurant that seems to pride itself on quality, I expected more attention to basic service standards. I hope they address this, as it detracts from an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Our "go to" restaurant in London. Fabulous salt-crusted sourdough bread. Great steak too. Friendly service and great decor reminiscent of Manet's "A Bar at the Folies-Bergeres" at the Courtauld Gallery.

First time at The Ivy Café and I can’t wait to go back. The cream tea was excellent: the scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam were an incredible tasting experience. The waiters were truly refined and professional.

Quaint cafe offering a professional traditional service, providing well presented meals. We arrived one hour earlier than booking, which they accommodate, Nice vibe and good selection of starters and mains. Lovely boutique shops on the same road, I would definitely come back.

Only popped in for a post dinner drink but staff were very welcoming given the lateness of the hour and the very dry martini was met with the approval of a very discerning patron.

A wonderful experience at a delightful restaurant in Marylebone. Appetizers were delicious as were our main courses and desserts. Our waiter was very charming and attentive, as were the rest of the staff. Would highly recommend this location.

Amazing experience! Varun, Robin, and Camila made us feel right at home with their friendly and attentive service. The coffee was outstanding—rich, smooth, and seriously the best I’ve had in a while. To top it off, they surprised us with free desserts! Such a thoughtful touch. Can’t wait to come back!

I normally love eating at the Ivy, but this branch soured my experience. I invited 5 for dinner. Everything was as good as usual, but staff were quite unattentive. After the courses took exceptionally long to arrive, I had to ask for an update. Staff didn't bother updating or asking if we need anything after we got the first course. The staff head was particularly arrogant when asked why the order was taking so long. I'm not going to let this experience spoil it for other branches of the Ivy. Hopefully this branch improves.

Had a lovely birthday lunch today. Relaxed over the food and atmosphere for over two hours, our waiter Joe was really great.

Went for a work dinner and had the steak which was cooked as I asked...medium rare. Only downside is chips have to be ordered separately. Otherwise service was great and a nice atmosphere

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service I received at the Ivy Café Marylebone branch on Friday, 4 April. I chose this venue for a celebratory dinner with my niece, as it is our local restaurant, which we regularly attend and have always enjoyed. Regrettably, the evening was marred by the incompetence, lack of common sense, and overall arrogance displayed by one of your managers, who introduced herself as Anna. To summarise, I am a 30-year-old woman and ordered a bottle of wine to accompany my dinner. The waitress initially accepted my request and brought a £50 bottle of wine. After opening it, she requested my ID, which I provided without issue. She then asked for my niece's ID. Unfortunately, my niece, who is 19 years old, did not have her ID with her, as she was not planning to drink due to being on antibiotics. She did, however, present a photograph of her passport and ID. Despite this, the waitress refused to serve me the wine and called over the manager, Anna. Manager Anna claimed it was against the law to serve alcohol to an adult accompanied by someone who appears under 25. I was taken aback by this assertion. I informed her that there is no such law and that individuals aged 16 and 17 can legally consume alcohol in restaurants when accompanied by adults. She dismissed my statement as "ridiculous" and suggested I could not possibly be my niece's mother and therefore could not legally allow her to drink. I further pointed out that even if my niece were under 16, Ivy is a family-friendly restaurant, and I have previously visited with my 13-year-old sister without issue. If it is indeed illegal to serve alcohol to adults accompanied by minors, then Ivy has breached the law on multiple occasions, which should be reported to the authorities. The conversation was so absurd and infuriating that I could not endure Manager Anna's nonsense any longer. My evening was utterly ruined, leaving me upset, embarrassed, and ridiculed by your staff. I am writing to bring this incident to your attention and request your response, along with confirmation that corrective action will be taken. If Anna's claim about the law is accurate, I would appreciate evidence supporting this statement. I look forward to your prompt reply. Kind regards, Ana

Great atmosphere We have: Pouched egggs with avocado 10/10 Buttermilk pancakes 8/10 .. the pancake itself delicious however, the cream wasn't delicious it tasted yogurt The service is slow for the outside seatings, they need to give more attention to it

Just had the most lovely meal at The Ivy Cafe (Marylebone). Made all the nicer by the amazing service provided by Joe. Attentive, friendly and he made it a most pleasant experience.

Had a wonderful lunch and drink here. The food quality is excellent l, and Joe (our waiter) was brilliant. He knew the menu throughout and recommended some great dishes to my father. We'll definitely be returning!

A very mixed experience in a cafe I used to love and have brought quite a few people over time. The lovely woman who showed me to my table and then organised a quiet spot was super helpful and charming. She even gave me some flowers when I left. My server Ajin however messed up the breakfast order, only bringing half of the ordered items and even these at different times. I had to wait 20 minutes for some water and ask three times. Yogurt was served with knife and fork! When omissions and mistakes were pointed out, he claimed it wasn’t his fault but in any case he would try not to forget things in the future which wasn’t much help for me. He still charged for service and didn’t adjust the bill which -given that I am a regular -I found disappointing. I have a future booking but not sure now whether to keep it.

I often go to The Ivy Cafe, and my favorite is definitely the one in Marylebone. The menu has many options and the dishes are always delicious, not to mention the beautiful ambiance. The waiters are friendly and helpful, but depending on the day the food can take a while to arrive. On my last visit, I booked a table for brunch and loved my experience! I ordered a variation of eggs benedict with avocado, which was delicious.

This cafe is a little gem of Marylebone. Located in the quiet alley near other restaurants and cute shops, it is so lovely itself. Absolutely corresponds to its history and overall idea. Great place for breakfast or brunch, I definitely recommend eggs royale with salmon and flat white on oat milk. Staff is attentive and service is very quick. We’ve been here many times, and all times but one everything was just perfect.

I’m sad to write this review but I feel I must as the service was so poor when we visited on Friday. We ordered the eggs royale and the English muffins were completely stale. When we mentioned this to our waiter he simply shrugged his shoulders and said he would tell the manager. There was no further mention of it or apology. When we spoke to the manager he accused us of eating the muffin yet complaining about it, as if we were trying to fleece the place by requesting some compensation. Actually what we were requesting was an apology and better service. Of course we had to taste the muffins otherwise we wouldn’t have known that they were stale. Once established that they were indeed very stale we stopped eating them and the remainder was left on the plate. To be accused in this manner was rude and upsetting and the wrong way to treat customers. Sadly we will take our custom elsewhere and won’t be recommending this branch to our family and friends of which we have many in the area. Sorry The Ivy, you have let us down on this occasion.

Wonderful place,food and service! Sadly I didn’t take any food pictures as I was too busy chatting away but got a couple before the food and my friend arrived.

The set breakfast menu and the folded omelette were amazing. Loved the "green juice" that came with the set menu. The ambience was great, with lots of cute pictures on the wall and lite music in the background. The service was fantastic. We have allergy to cinnamon and sesame, which was well taken care of with patience and care. Will definitely come back next time we're in London!

I went there with my friend, the food and the service was excellent. The ambiance not really because was very busy with a lot of people and tables very close to each other. 5* to Camila our head waitress:)

We ate outside on the terrace, the weather was perfect, served by an adorable chef. The dishes were delicious, I recommend +++ Pss: their express tiramisu-style martini cocktail is delicious!

The most 3 out of 5 star restaurant I have ever been to.

Absolutely appalling experience! We were taken to our table for breakfast and were then ignored for about 20 mins. Later arrivals were served ahead of us. It was as if we had become invisible. We knew what to order as we often enjoy breakfast near our home at The Chelsea Ivy on King’s Road. We had to nab a waiter to take our order after such a long period of waiting. This is where the experience deteriorated badly. We placed our orders for two full English breakfasts with two oat milk cappuccinos. At that point, the waiter told us that a full breakfast could be a problem given we had sought oat milk coffees. He asked if, given that we required oat milk, if either of us had any allergies to which we answered that one of us was allergic purely to cow’s milk. He bristled and adopted an arrogance which had to be seen to be believed telling us in no uncertain terms that it was not the policy of the restaurant to serve full breakfasts if a customer had an allergy! It was utterly bizarre. He went away to the kitchen only to return parroting the same ‘policy’. It was akin to Fawlty Towers. We told him we were not seeking the breakfasts to be cooked in cow’s milk so questioned the rationale of his allergy observation! He refused to budge on this point saying the chef would not agree to our order whereupon we got up and left. He seemed unperturbed by our leaving and made no attempt to defuse the situation but we will not be returning! Dreadful behaviour!

Overall: ★★★★☆ Food: European A nice, reliable branch of The Ivy and a worthy four stars. A lovely warm welcome and good prompt service was only let down by the breakfast which sadly lacked flavour. That said I would definitely give it another go and try something else. Otherwise everything else was really good. What I liked: • Really friendly, attentive service • Buzzing atmosphere (even at breakfast) • Reasonable price point • Good presentation What I didn’t like: • I thought the breakfast was underwhelming • Coffee not as smooth as I like with a slightly bitter aftertaste Do I recommend going? Food is great but it is quite noisy in comparison to other Ivy restaurants

Today we celebrated my daughter birthday in the restaurant a big thank you to Naz who was very attentive and very professional service . Naz made our holiday more pleasant and festive.

There is a restaurant called The Ivy in Los Angeles. Stupid me, I assumed they were related. They are not. This is a cheap knock off with horrible food and even worse waitstaff. The lobster linguine was made with packaged linguine and a bottled sauce. The lobster had a horrible taste as if it were Mexican rock lobster. The staff forgets what is going on and they do not check on you. You have to stand up and chase them down. This place is absolutely garbage. I am sorry. The food is disappointing and the staff is horrible. Please just go someplace else. 80 quid for 1 is usually ok by me, but this was worth 15 quid. Mc Donald’s. STAY AWAY

Its been years since i had breakfast at the original IVY, so i was mildly disapointed with my visit. On the plus side; lovely people and good location. Sadly though the food was ok, but not prepared to a quality anticipated for the price.

Nice spot for breakfast! The egg Benedict with smashed avocado was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented. The coffee was good too, complementing the meal perfectly. The staff were welcoming and friendly, greeting guests warmly. The café itself has a classic and cozy ambiance, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Found this stunning restaurant in the ceaselessly chic Marylebone neighboorhood. Great British staples like the classic shepherd’s pie or the traditional fish and chips makes this place perfect for people discovering the cuisine. Combined with precise and personal service from our waiter Haythem, makes this a TOP experience. Oh and did I mention that the prices are fair? We will be returning! Thank you!

Absolutely terrible experience, service slow and lazy ..all the food for six people was straight out of a freezer and tasted bad. Really extremely bad and we were not impressed. In fact I'm now sick for the last two days as a consequence of their off packeted food old frozen meat .. I should be refunded

I fund the Ivy Café in Marylebone a true gem, offering a consistently high standard of food, drink, and service. Had a very bad let down today. I had the cheese and ham omelette. I chose it because I love melted cheese. The omelette had hardly any cheese and the ham was horrible. Really disappointed. My friend had English breakfast. I

Had a work lunch there. The service from the moment we walked in throughout the whole lunch was great. I could see the management cares about providing very good service. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant was buzzing during the lunch time.

Pleasurable ambiance and good service, as always in Ivy restaurants. The food is nothing to crave about: Adequate but obviously not something particular, especially when you think how much you pay. Also my steak was very difficult to chew. To the credit of the restaurant, when they realized that I did not enjoy my steak, they proposed to bring me another. Looking forward for better value for money and more passionate cooking.
