We stopped here by chance. 37€ two orange juices and 2 muffins certainly not made on site given the packaging, it's frankly scandalous and a steal. Even though the street is gone, there are still 2 muffins and 4 oranges. In short, stop elsewhere.

Fantastic pasta lunch cooked to perfection

BEWARE! Visited here on Monday. The bill included a 10% service charge. After we'd paid and left we noticed they'd helped themselves to another 10% when taking payment! Ended up paying just short of a £30 tip. Not impressed.

I've been here this Saturday morning to take a coffee, water and two focacce and he charged me 72€ (more less 60 pounds)! Just to take advantage of foreigners!

I know this is St James, but £26.50 for one panini and 2 coffees is shocking. The 2 stars are for the staff who were very nice but you can’t blame people for going to chain cafes like Pret when you charge like this. Ridiculous.

Love coming to this cafe, the food is amazing and cakes are delicious. The staff are very professional and nothing is to much especially the young lady I think her name is Shirin.

Absolutely love this place. I go daily for lunch and it’s just so good. The service is fantastic, genuinely kind, decent and helpful staff. Shirin especially is fantastic, and always an absolute pleasure to speak with and does an incredible job at managing dozens of people at a time. Carbonara and chicken focaccia are especially good. So rare to find such a gem of a cafe, especially in central London with sky high rents and a saturation of average-poor chains. Yes it’s not the cheapest, but the quality:cost ratio is more than worth it.

Since moving to the area this has been my favorite spot in town for a lunch and coffee!

This is a very welcoming and friendly cafe. Coffee was excellent, as was the cake and panettoni. The friendliness of the staff added to an excellent atmosphere. All the food we saw served looked very tasty and sizeable. Cannot comment on the prices, the location probably makes a big impact on the rent. Would I go here again. YES. (I couldn’t see Bagels on the menu anywhere).

One the best caffe in st. james to hang out and bestest place to get breakfast and lunch as well as you get always get fresh food and bestest coffee and staff is incredibly friendly and pleasant as you will get treated always nicely by them and best location for seating and chilling outside caffe.

Came in for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches. The toasties were cold in the middle and the drinks were average at best, which would've been acceptable in most small cafés but here it cost £40......

Scammers! We ordered for around £15 and when we went to pay we got a bill for £60! We did not notice this at the time and paid. When we found out we went back and got our money back... or so we thought. We got our money back in a weird foreign currency! And when we wanted to pay with that money the next day, we were told that it was Northern Irish money and that it was not accepted! Never go here! Pure definition of scammers!

Simply a scam as no food menu with price. Asked for a panini and first suggested the price at 4.5 with a heavy italian accent. And after putting the panini to the grill and saying it is 8.5 and you can’t cancel the order. Avoid!

Not sure why this has been rated as expensive ... we had a couple of teas and a cake each which came to £16. Pretty much what you'd pay in a chain coffee house outside of London so seems reasonable to me. Quality and service were good.

My experience of the food was the stuff of nightmares. A chicken milanese panini. The chicken was not cooked through. Pinky glazed.look to the chicken. I had to chuck it in the bin. SMH that is really poor considering the area. Wont be returning for food.

This place was small but very chic. Love how the chef and the waiter assisted us. We we're treated like royals!! The food was great! Quick service, clean and organized.

Called in on way to Buckingham Palace. Coffee Hot chocolate and 2 cakes average at best. Sat and watched the chef using his bare hands to dish up cooked and cooked food and then put fingers in his moth before picking up a handful of uncooked fries and dropped them in the fryer. Disgusting no hand hygiene at all! 🤢 Won’t be coming back

Really nice staff, but they didn’t understand gluten free, they didn’t explain the menu to me and I ended up ordering way too much food (the starter was big enough for a full meal.) - and the Caesar salad had no Caesar sauce on it (?). Really really disappointing and I won’t be going back sadly.

The Fawlty Towers of cafes. Asked for a smoked salmon and crème cheese bagel and had no idea what i was asking. Finally got to brown bread then gave me the ends as then told me out of brown bread. it’s stale and totally disappointing and i paid £21 for the privilege

I was starving and this cafe was the first I saw on my way from Trafalgar square to Buckingham palace, which gives them a great opportunity to overprice. Paid 24£ for salad, bread and a juice. The salad was very oily and in my opinion, bread should be included in the price. The staff was very lovely though.

Came here on a cold day in Feb. Had a nice coffee, stayed for a couple of beers and some lunch. Very welcoming, pleasant staff and the best smelling toilets I have ever been in.

Prices weren’t wot was advertised when you came to pay the bill. Breakfast was poor smashed eggs ,un toasted bread the only plus was the melon display on the counter taking the orders ,won’t be back again .

£19.20 for a small glass of fresh orange juice, a panini and slice of cake is fairly pricey, even for London. The staff were friendly and the aircon was on, so not all bad.

We only stopped for coffee and cake - both of which were very good. Although it was £15 for 2 pastries and 2 drinks - this seemed a little expensive. The pasta selection looked fab!

Good choice of pastries but it is expensive for what they offer. Their justification is that these are the prices for the area, well this is questionable. What is bad is that the prices are not shown next to the food and then you feel ripped off, you expect reasonable prices. Pastries are £3.50 each.

On the day of the people's vote march the cafe was doing sensational service. 4 staff working very fast. I got served after 20 seconds of joining the queue.

Of all the café's" in the Mayfair/St James area, this is in the bottom 3, a so called panini (on ciabatta) the filling of this was exceptionally poor, over-priced and felt utterly short-changed from a £10. The Caffé in Shepherds Market and Le Petit on Stafford St are by far the nicest of them within the 10min walk radius. The smoothies/fresh juices are over-priced too, with a limited choice, much prefer Daylesford or Detox Kitchen. This café for me needs to step up, as the menu is limited and very full on carb, and probably only popular for the office workers on Pall Mall. I found the staff discourteous and terribly unfriendly, needless to say I shall not return.
