Nice cosy pub to visit on rainy afternoon but the bartender certainly won’t have Disney chasing to sign him. Unfriendly, Grumpy comes to mind. We decided to quit after one drink and went down the road to the punch which was much better. Coming from Irish stock, he’s not typical of the Irish in London. Find a genuine friendly Irish bar somewhere else.

Faultless. Food, wine, service. Luxury without pretence. One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. If I were to add anything constructive to this it would be to say that our experience could only have been enhanced by some background/ambient music. Having said that the peace and quiet might just be the finishing touch for others. Either way I would highly, highly recommend.

Called in and went upstairs to the tiny, cosy space to get some food. I went for the pork Sunday roast (lamb shank and beef were also available) at a cost of £13.95. I got two small slices of pork which were incredibly dry, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, cabbage and a Yorkshire pudding. I believe the entire meal had been cooked from frozen, but it was fine, I just think it was expensive for the quality we got. Overall, it was a nice warm spot on a very cold day, and while the food wasn't outstanding, it was fine.

Stopped there on a Sunday for lunch. Wasn't too crowded and the waitress was friendly. Good atmosphere, not too loud. The food came out quickly and was pretty good. The Sticky toffee is to die for. Probably one of the best I had. Prices are reasonable and plates big.The only complaint I could have was that the Sunday Roast was well done and the beef wasn't that tender.

My wife and I love fish and chips. We couldn't wait to try it in this pub. The atmosphere was charming, but the FOOD was terrible. The fish was soggy and barely cooked. We could not finish it. So I went on a little pilgrimage to the first ever Irish pub in England. The ground floor is long and skinny with a nice mosaic floor inlaid with Shamrocks. At lunch and after work you'll be lucky to get a spot at the long bar. There's a great Irish whiskey selection and the restaurant upstairs does good food. Looking for a place to warm up and have a bite, we came across the Tipperary which advertised an upstairs restaurant. It’s a small place with a good pub menu, but any similarity to the usual forgettable pub fare stops there! Service from Amanda and Steve was super efficient and above average. We both chose the steak and kidney pie with mushy peas and thick cut fries. Fries are always a good indicator of menu quality and I often find them tasteless and watery. These chips were simply amazing: crispy and tasty. Likewise the mushy peas were full of flavour. The steak and kidney was as tasty as I have ever had wrapped in lots of delicious pastry. It arrived quickly, considering the restaurant was full. Kudos to Tony who was in charge of the kitchen that day. ‘Please tell me you have Sticky Toffee Pudding?’ I asked. Indeed they did and it came with extra custard. It was a yummy accompaniment to our mains. The meal was finished off with coffee - served in beautiful china cups and a full carafe. Price was very reasonable for central London. All told, The Tipperary restaurant gets my full approval, appreciation and recommendation if you are looking for excellent pub grub in the heart of the City.

A group of us were touring London pubs. This is typical of a lot of old pubs; narrow but quite long. Good range of ales. Somewhat dark for such a sunny day, but nice to get out of the sun for a while. Friendly bar staff. Enjoyable visit

With Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese closed, we had a nice Sunday lunch at the Tipperary across the street. Pork and roast beef dinners were top notch as were the fish and chips. Enjoyed chatting with the proprietor. Thanks.

Went in for dinner on a weekday. Staff was very nice and was giving good recommendations. The menu has traditional meals. Unfortunately, the food had no salt and hence had almost no taste. This ruined our positive impression of the rest and could have been avoidable. What a pity.

This is a traditional pub on busy Fleet St. Small inside, a bit dingy perhaps, but friendly and with character. It was a Sunday evening and we called in, upstairs for a bite to eat. It was a tight fit to squeeze four of us around a table, but we managed. The menu was decent, if not extensive. One of us had the burger and the other three had the Pie. We all agreed it was very tasty. All washed down with a canny pint of Guiness. We left happy and satisfied.

The Tipperary is a neat little pub with the ability to eat pub grub upstairs. The Bar attendant is very friend and helpful, WiFi is available if you ask. They pour a good pint and a place where the locals come to relax and sit and chat. If you are an Irish pub chaser, step in for a pint.

My husband, son and I just had lunch at the oldest Irish Pub in London. The meal was fantastic and we enjoyed our visit with Patrick, he filled us in on the history of the place and my son got to pour his own Guinness! Highly recommend, on Fleet Street.

Great little Irish bar in the City. We went for Sunday lunch and weren't disappointed. I had the boiled bacon and my partner had the lamb shank, both meals were delicious, as was the apple pie. The pub itself is cosy and feels like a real Irish bar. The Guinness is excellent and the barman, Patrick offered proper Irish hospitality, friendly professional service all carried out with a smile and a bit of craic. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who fancies a relaxed drink and tasty food.

OMG! The best high tea we have had anywhere! You will not be disappointed! Totally delicious! And a nice little walk from St. Paul's Cathedral. We sat upstairs overlooking the street below for a good people watching opportunity. But seriously, this high tea was to die for!

We popped in here for a light lunch. What a lovely friendly reception. Barman was very chatty and told us of history of the pub. The sandwiches were beautifully made and well filled and side order of chips and onion rings were spot on. Washed down with perfect Guinness. A truly authentic warm Irish pub. Recommended.

The Tipperary was stop 3 on an afternoon pub crawl through London. The sign outside reads "London's original Irish Pub" and it didn't disappoint. One difference I've notice between pubs in England and pubs in Ireland -- the Irish pubs are a lot chattier. So, the Tipperary truly is an Irish pub. The bartender was friendly and our fellow customers chatted amiably with us. It was the friendliest pub on our crawl. It also offered a host of beers I didn't see at other pubs, such as several choices from Belfast Brewing and Buccaneer Bunny from Nelson Brewing.

This is a very autentic place - a typical small pub with great atmosphere. Pretty large choice of tap beer and very good and tasty cuisine. The owner is a really friendly person - we spent something like 6 hours there and he was very kind. Even if it was my first time there I really felt like home.

Do you need to find a way to waste money and be treated like dirt? This is the place for you! We'd visited a few pubs and had a sense of the cost of a pint. We walked in here, were ignored for a while, then begrudgingly offered information on the beers on tap. We weren't overwhelmed by any, so we got two half pints and a whiskey. This cost 24 pounds. The whiskey was a very short pour. We licked our financial wounds and got out of there. We won't be back and can hopefully spare someone this experience.

Lunched there today, made to feel very welcome by the immensely entertaining Amanda. I had a lovely home made steak & kidney pie which was delicious - served with mash, peas and gravy. Followed this with a very light sticky toffee pudding and fresh cream. Couldn't have asked for more.

We stumbled upon this gem while walking back to our hotel after an afternoon of visiting pubs. We started upstairs in Mum's bar. We met the "woman of the pub" who was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed a pint and then slipped down the back stairs and spent time with locals and did a whiskey tasting. Very very fun way to end our day.

To be honest, my girlfriend and I came over here because Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese was closed. But it wasn't a bad choice. The restaurant area is upstairs away from the main bar, so even though that was somewhat busy, we could have a peaceful Sunday roast watching the traffic go by down on the ground. The girl working upstairs was very friendly. The food was excellent and at a usual pub price. All around a great lunch. The character of the pub is fantastic too. Clearly it's very old, with some amazing old photos and cartoons on the walls.

Myself and 5 friends arrived in good spirits having enjoyed our afternoon..... up until we arrived here! As soon as we approached the bouncers, they pointed to one of our party and said "you have had a lot to drink, you aren't coming in'. We explained that this was not the case and that he is in fact disabled (having had a stroke he is now paralysed down his left side) the bouncers refused and basically said we were lying! The manager then cane over and said "sorry there's nothing I can do about it" Absolutely disgusting! I would give zero stars if I could

I visited O’Neill’s on Wardour Street a few years ago and had a very bad experience. I witnessed a fight on the top floor, and later, I was nearly assaulted by a group of guys who appeared to be drunk or on drugs and looking for trouble. Despite that, I decided to give the place another chance yesterday. Unfortunately, the first red flag was that they still serve pints in plastic cups, suggesting that nothing has changed in terms of the crowd they attract. As for the location, it’s a typical pub in a very touristy area, just a minute from Piccadilly Circus. We spent most of our time on the top floor, where there was live music, which was actually quite good. The service was efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long to be served. However, the place became extremely crowded, to the point where you could barely move, and once again, security seemed insufficient, especially as the night progressed. The crowd looked more civilized this time around. Overall, nothing special to remark about this place. It’s your typical O’Neill’s pub in a central location. While the live music and service were good, the lack of adequate security, especially late at night, remains a concern.
