St Ives Doner Kebab House in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Stay away !!! Cold , no meat very very poor , had mixed shish with 3 pieces and a mixed kebab with trimings of hardly anything!!! No wonder there complaining it wasn't busy ! £22 what a rip off ! Honestly stay away , proves there's a reason why they wouldn't want us to eat inside

I ordered a mixed shish kebab, but what I received was bits of dry unidentifiable meat and looked very unappetising — definitely not a shish kebab! It seems this shop has lost all passion for serving quality food and has no regard for their customers satisfaction. Total waste of money!! I'm looking forward to going home and visiting my local Turkish kebab shop, where they take pride in their food.

I did not get what I asked for. Despite being there a few times they never seem to listen. Even when I asked them to write down what I wanted it didn't happen. Do evthink I'll bother again.

Jointly run with Spice Centre, so one counter but two menus to choose from. Takeaway or delivery. Reasonable prices, good food and a pub next door whilst waiting.

An absolute JOKE, money down the drain ( or should day, in their pockets ) probably the worst doner ever eaten, dry and tasteless thin strips of God knows what it was , salad not much better, one piece of tomato looked lifeless and 2 slices of cucumber dry, may show 5 star hygiene on the window but after paying the £7.50 for a small lamb doner, as I was waiting I looked around the shop, filthy and tired to say the least, tried the kebab and threw most of it in the bin, never again. Avoid like the plague.

My partner and I have gone to king kebab for many years frequently since we moved to st ives we are big fans The food is delicious and great value for money they make there own flat breads and you can usually see the next batch waiting to go in to the oven The staff are friendly welcoming and generous On a number of occasions they have handed around small samples while we wait for our order Sometimes we're given a pot of olives This is a real neighbour gem Delevery driver is amazing Hassle free ordering

Awful. Waiting 2.5hours for food to arrive. Still no sign after many phone calls with the promise that its on its way!! Ordered many times before and no problem. Asked to cancel order and they can't!! Asked for a refund and can't. Shambolic

No one expects a kebab shop to serve the finest cuisine, but atleast we expect a level of passion, enthusiasm, love for one's own culture, to make your ancestors proud. The people at King kebab did not like their acenstors very much

Awful! Awful food. Awful service. Restaurant cannot read an order correctly. Drivers cannot seem to find an address correctly. Apparently reversing on a drive way is a no no… so they drive off WITH OUR FOOD with us chasing them down the road asking them to stop. The driver then says without hesitation, your order will be incorrect as they can’t get it right anyway! Not a good start… guess what…. The orde is missing several items (as driver predicated). Ring them… apparently no chicken left. We’ll say that please upon ordering. Worse thing about meal was opening an item we did receive to find a long brown hair in it, when we are blond. Vomit in your mooch. The whole experience was disgusting. Disgusting food, disgusting service and disgusting attitude from the restaurant. They apparently found some chicken to deliver to complete rest of order and said they would deliver it immediately. 1 hour later, nothing here. They are liars, they are incompetent, thru are done disgusting providers of food. SO NOT ORDER FROM THEM

Awful. After ordering at 8.40, To be told my order would arrive at 9.20, I had to call up at 9.45 to check my delivery. It finally arrived at 10.15 pm. I’ve ordered before a few times, usually Very good curry! But my last order from this place never arrived! Hence my worry. I don’t like to complain, especially being local and knowing how busy half term can get, but the driver turned up stoned as hell, my curry was clearly forgotten about. The lamb was dry as hell! I’ve always usually enjoyed my meals from the spice centre. Would always 100% recommend as the best Indian in St Ives. After tonight, they have lost my business. The staff that work there are lovely, very polite and do what they can to make sure your orders met, usually. But I won’t be ordering again. Extremely disappointed.

I had given up on having a decent doner kebab since I moved to Cornwall. I tried another kebab place in another town nearby and I was very disappointed. Then last week I was in St Ives and I looked to see if there were any kebab houses and there was. It was delicious. I had doner kebab and chips and I asked for chilli sauce (not too much) and some mayonnaise. OMG! I could have eaten it all over again. It was perfect. The doner, the chips, the salad which was really fresh), the right amount of sauce, the green chilli included. I will definitely be going back!

Donna kebab was so bad it was an insult. Frozen pitta, frozen meat and frozen salad. Dreadful. Only go here if you are paralytic and starving and have lost your taste buds. It’s that bad,!

Been here twice on this visit, previously we had really poor service but the new business appears to have sorted themselves out. Kebab wraps and Donner were great, no complaints.

We went to visit family for the evening as they live in St.Ives. We called in at King Kebab as my husband wanted a kebab. I preferred a large shish mix one with sauces and salad. We got home and he sat and ate the lot without saying a word. I asked him if he enjoyed it and he said it was the best kebab he had eaten in 30 years! We will look forward to ordering another very soon

Really poor had a delivery they got the order wrong twice and the second time the tikka masala was not a tikka I don’t even know what it was and coming from Birmingham I know my curry

A takeaway leaflet was pushed through my door a few weeks ago which appeared to indicate there had been a change from the previous setup and they would now be offering a wider range of food including Indian (a particular weakness of mine). I held on to it as I've had two bad experiences back to back from my previously preferred Indian takeaway (I always give a place a second chance, everyone's entitled to an off night once in a while, particularly under current circumstances) and decided to give it a try tonight. The fact that they offer a decent range of Set Menus for One was definitely a deciding factor but I actually ended up ordering individual dishes as I have what borders on an addiction for Sag Aloo which isn't the included side dish on the Set Menus. Despite the website stating that it would be 45 minutes before they could deliver, my food actually arrived in 15 minutes and was absolutely lovely. The popadoms were perfectly crisp and tasty, the pilau delicately flavoured and cooked to perfection, the chicken still juicy and the sag aloo actually had a little kick to it (so many places make it horribly bland). I wasn't a fan of the previous incarnation of this takeaway but I'm very impressed with tonight's service and food and will definitely be using them again!

Bogging kebab the pitta was so dry just fell apart. The meat was under cooked had a large kebab for £9.50 it was the size of a small wrap. Made out the back not in front of you like most places. Won’t be back.

On holiday with my family, we ate here last night and my 2 children have been up sick all night. For the price, the quality of food is very poor. Unable to leave a no star review, so have had to give it 1 star....

Brought the mixed shish and chicken tower burger, Tasted really nice and flavourfull. Decent portian sizes and helpful service and quick delivery. The children enjoyed there kids meals, Especially the chicken nuggets. Would reccomend anyone else down on holiday tries it :)

I've ordered mixed shish kebabs twice from here and both times I thoroughly enjoyed the food. One was a collection and the other was a delivery, both were on time. hot and tasty. Will order again in the future.

Ordered 2 kebabs and large chips to takeaway then waited outside for ages. Much longer than the advised 10 minutes. Got home to find one of the kebabs was completely wrong and there were no chips. I won’t be going there again.

Awful. Had to wait over an hour for food . Ordered cheeseburgers 2 out of 3 of them had no cheese on them. The chips are awful, lots of black ones, mostly cold and hardly cooked. Such a shame. Last owner was much better.

Not anywhere near as good as the previous owner and more expensive! The lady on the till had told me that this would be whole pieces of lamb and chicken (which sounded great) but instead it was a small amount of chicken and a lot of Donna meat with no pieces of Lamb and they forgot to include the Pitta! . I Will probably not use again and so is just one more St Ives eatery that is not providing a good option anymore . We are finding more and more that we have to order from Hayle to get anything decent.

never again will i go to king kebab in st ives i waited hour and half for it to be delivered and when it was delivered it was stone cold and it was not a lamb kebab avoid and save your money

Really disappointed. Have ordered from here a few times before the owners changed, I will not be ordering again! Phoned up and placed a order, was told it would be 20 minutes to come and collect. On arrival we were told it would be an extra 10 minutes, still waiting and nothing, then told a further 2 minutes, then we got handed an order that wasn’t ours! My boyfriend complained and said it’s not ours, turns out they gave our food to somebody else!!! So, we were told again we had to wait another 10 minutes, nearly an hour we waited for our food, they just kept trying to brush us off by saying ‘ be another 5’ or ‘ be two minutes’ but it wasn’t! We met a few unhappy customers while waiting, rude and unprofessional staff, we will not be going back, we will go back to enjoying the Chinese next door because they look after their customers a lot better.

Visited today as just wanted a kebab and there mixed kebab was sooo fresh and the hot sauce not the typical sauce you get in takeaways.

Tried to serve donnar instead of lamb because person was drunk thought they could take advantage offered to give refund and tried to short change ..

This place put kebab's in a different light . I was surprised by the quality of food in this town.We definitely back here next year.It was delicious.

Three of us ordered our food, waited 15 minutes and only two wraps were handed over...the guy then argued that we had cancelled the shish kebab ‍♂️It was a Sunday night, he didn’t have any lamb donner...told us he didn’t have any chicken donner but we could see it & eventually he relented and agreed to use it for the two wraps.Turned another two customers away saying that he was closing, it was only 9pm!Another family were sitting inside, took their order and money; prepared most of their food & then said that he had ran out so couldn’t do the rest Real shame, but we won’t be going back.

Best kebab ive had in 20 years since ibiza, loads of fresh salad inc chillis and nice spiced lamb, cheese and tomato pizza £9 which i thought was a little expensive but when i tasted it it was well worth it, highly recomended top class!

30 pound for a 12 inch pizza, 2 kebabs and some cheesy chips. I’ll let you decide. Food wasn’t the best, pizza was nice but overall over priced.

These kebabs are the best! Lots of meat, salad annd sauces, and the pittas are particularly nice - covered in seeds :-) Fresh, crispy chips and the staff are very welcoming too. Well worth a visit.

What a find this was. Visited here as we wanted a quick bite to eat and wasn’t disappointed. We asked if we could have the mega kebab but with chicken shish which isn’t an option. The staff agreed to this but asked for a extra £2 on top of what the menu based price is which I felt was more than reasonable. We decided to eat it inside so they kindly put it on a plate and what a sight it was..... in fact a customer came in & couldn’t decide what he wanted then he saw our order & said I’ll have what they’ve ordered..... it’s the best 12 quid I spent in Cornwall..... and I’m sure the bloke who ordered after us felt the same. Loads of chicken, plenty of salad, offered us more dressings and the pita bread was beautiful. This is one place I will go back to. If you want some fast food that’s good value and cooked well, served by nice people then visit here.

Amazed that you can get such an amazing fresh an tasty kebab or pizza delivered to your door with no delivery charge mmmm !!!!! Also they do a version of there own special bread which i have to say was so nice i had this an i will always have it from now on! Hubbie had the mixed kebab aswell an loved the bread it was on, an my sister had a pizza an says it was the best she has had. My advice try this place its a must .

We have used this Kebab restaurant a few times whilst staying in St Ives , over the last few years. My favourite is a Chicken Shish with Lamb Doner ...... Definitely worth trying if you fancy something different whilst staying in St Ives.

We had a delivery to our holiday apartment & all I can say is Wow, food quality was great, portion was very generous & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, we all recommend this place!!!

Visited whilst on holiday. Chicken kebab wasn’t the best, meat was fatty. Wasn’t grilled chicken on kebab sticks, was taken from the turning grill normally used for donor. The chips were very fatty too. Really disappointed.

I ordered a delivery for a chicken shish and chips and it turned up very soon after, lots of lovely hot, tasty chicken, loads of lovely fresh salad and coleslaw and plenty of chips. Would definitely use again 👌🏼

Kebabs were OK not the best I had lamb kebab large which was massive wife had chicken small which was too big for her tasted OK only let down was the sauces the white one with red bits was ment to be hot but it wasn't the medium was like a salsa overall it's a kebab it filled a hole

We’re were only able to buy a vegetarian takeaway here as we have serious animal welfare concerns over halal meat. It’s not a nice place or nice food so won’t be returning.

So if you want a four topping pizza, apparently you have to ask if you want your toppings all over.. I don't fall off the wagon much so I walked right into this one.. Instead they put a satisfactory amount of one of the four toppings on a quarter of the pizza. Nothing else just cheese tomato base and mushrooms on one quarter, pepperoni on another quarter, olives on another quarter and so on... So they save 50- 75% on toppings?

If u like kebab and staying in st ives I would recommend this place Freshly cooked with a nice seating area I went for the lamb wrap which was very filling and tasty and certainly value for money

Just ordered two small chicken shish kebabs from here the chicken was horrible not like real chicken must be that horrid stuff that some establishments buy in a huge block and cut bits of, the texture of the chicken was really strange and nothing like actual chicken avoid at all costs save your money.

Excellent kebabs that are a fair price. Cooked well and the staff are happy to customise what you are looking for. Really enjoyed the kebab and will come back. What the town has needed for a long time so hope it sticks around for a long time to come.

£22 for two kebabs delivered up the street. Chicken is not your normal chicken kebab it's tiny bits of greasy chewy chicken - not sure it was even chicken. Doner meat was see through, garlic sauce was mayo, Chips are vile tiny thin things no taste at all. Only kebab shop local to our holiday cottage, wants closing down. Order from Hong Kong Kitchen Chinese it's amazing.

It's a little pricey , but there is no doubt there is quality ingredients being used . All there is the best but especially Nutella pizza .

A good variety of food to takeaway or to be delivered and really big portions. We will go back again.

Called in Doner Kebab House one evening at the end of a night out, and was very pleased with the food it was very tasty.

Visit here regularly and the food is outstanding. Best kebab I have ever had - especially the chicken. The meat is sourced from a local St ives butcher and the flat bread made by a local baker to George's own recipe. Salads are always fresh and great sauces. It is great value considering the quality of the produce. You always get a friendly welcome and I have never seen a place so clean, you can see from my picture how clean the place is. One to definitely visit.

After a long day and a few drinks of course we enjoyed a kebab to round off the night. Very very tasty and excellent value for money and we certainly had service with a smile from the lovely George.

I always have the chicken doner because its amazing, but today i decided to try sonething different wich is the mixed grilled sish and it was absolutley great. The salads are always fresh and the sauces are home made and tasty. They deserve a 5 star rating
