Causal indoor and streetside space to enjoy a cold beverage. Nicely located off the main street , for a cold beer or glass of wine.

Nothing against the pub, only we went hoping for food, since it got such good reviews as a restaurant in 2020. They told us they no longer serve food so we went elsewhere.

A warm welcome goes a long way and can be quite a rare thing in central London. St Brides is a great, traditional pub with just such a welcome from Karen and her bar staff. The pub has interesting (art nouveau?) decor and is handily located for Blackfriars and Fleet Street. Highly recommended.

Visited this pub whilst in London as staying near Premier Inn, Blackfriars. We had a lovely meal, good service and food although the hand cut chips were a bit pricey. There was a good selection of drinks, lady behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Ladies' toilets were well maintained and clean. Tucked away, off the beaten track so very quiet which my husband and I like.

Would I go again? Absolutely So we stumbled across this place after work, it was hidden just off the main road and could easily be missed. Its is a traditional pub and they had lot of candles around, which not only smelt great it created a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The venue was quiet at first (around 5.30) but got busier, but it never felt rammed and lots of seating. They had a great drinks selection and lots of different whisky's which you don't see that often. The 2 bar staff were friendly, kept the drinks flowing and the candles alight. Prices were a little pricey but no more than the other bars in that area and wouldn't put me off going back due to the bar staff and atmosphere. They did have food, and I believe the owner is an experienced chef but unfortunately the food wasn't available so couldn't try. So if you are wanting to eat maybe call ahead.

Had a business meeting nearby and stumbled upon this delightful pub on our way back to Blackfriars tube station. It was lunchtime and my colleague and I both ordered the tuna melt. It was served quickly considering there was a larger table just ahead of us in the kitchen queue. There are signs up claiming the food is cooked fresh with fresh ingredients and that was certainly the case with the tuna melt! Two halves of a bun, toasted with tuna, fresh red and green peppers and plenty of grated cheese over the top, served piping hot with a salad dressing. Delicious! You know you're in a good establishment when the copper pipes and brass fittings on the urinals are highly polished! Highly recommended.

Went for a couple pints and a chicken wrap whilst waiting for a mate to get out of work. The barmaids were very nice to me, served me at my seat and even sourced me a paper as I was waiting some time for my pal. Full of city boys, but it is next to JP Morgan and others so makes sense.

I was staying close by and fancied a beer and some nosh, and as the menu looked good was just about to go in when I saw the dreaded dress code notice. After tramping around all day in my casual kit I was not up to daring challenge so just bogged off to the next boozer. Later that week on a Friday the noise from this place would startle a horse, it seemed to be full of city types letting there hair down in the time honoured tradition of screaming like girls. So maybe if your shirts are not fitted and your shoes not pointy I would not bother with it.

All the staff are exceptional and considerate helping in carrying drinks for you if you have a large round to distribute . I was staying at the adjacent Premier Inn, but was too early to book in, so went to St Brides Tavern for a spot of lunch and a pint of ale. The bar staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, even taking my food order at the table to save me getting up to the bar. It was lovely and peaceful, only another couple in the bar - then BAM!!! All of a sudden hordes of blokes came flooding in from somewhere!! (stag weekend perhaps - or finished work for the weekend). This did not detract from the cosy atmosphere of the bar, I'm just pleased I got my order in before they all turned up. The food - sort of spicy beans and sausage on a sourdough toast, was unbelievably delicious - I would definitely recommend it.

The pub is a nice place to stop if you want a small quiet place to have a drink with friends. They have a very limited but good quality selection of real ales on offer and a basic wine menu. The food is basic pub snacks and burgers which unfortunately was not available when we called in. The staff did however offer us chips but we wanted dinner. The staff were friendly and welcoming and explained that the food was not available because there was no cook.

10 of us booked for a team Christmas lunch in the upstairs bar. We had pre-ordered our food and I had ordered fish & chips at £10.45. The chips were amazing - the fish was very disappointing. I was expecting a lovely freshly cooked cod in batter, but what I got was obviously a frozen packet fish fillet which would cost a couple of quid from your local Iceland - definitely not £10.45 worth, even though the chips were excellent there were only half a dozen of them. I won't be returning. Other of my friends ordered some fancy cheese dish, which ultimately turned out to be cheese on toast - at £8.45 a pop it was ridiculously over-priced.

I tend to come here a lot, mainly because it is a stone's throw from the office and we're well known and well looked after by the lovely landlady Karen and her team. However, having sampled the lunch menus of many of the other pubs in the area, I've satisfied myself that St Bride's food cannot be beaten - once you've eaten your first triple cooked chip you'll understand why! The menu is small but offers the usual pub grub - burger, fish and chips, wraps etc - with a few twists (I have it on good authority that the 'Bunny Chow' is worth a punt). Today I had the pulled pork brioche bun, which was literally overflowing with tender meat and accompanied with fries and red cabbage coleslaw. For the quality of food and portion sizes, prices are very reasonable (around £10 for a main course). It does get busy in the early evenings (mainly with groups of post-work office bods), but with many choosing to stand outside in the warmer months you can usually find a place to perch your drink inside. There is an upstairs area which can be hired out for functions and is also opened during busy lunch periods. My only minor gripes are the ladies' toilet which could do with a revamp and the house white wine - choose a grape you're comfortable with!

We were staying at the Premier Inn round the corner and had liked the look of this wee pub as we passed on our way back to the hotel about 6pm. Then there had been quite a few people standing outside with drinks. After our excellent dinner in the hotel we thought we'd pop round the corner for a nightcap. We arrived to find one couple - or rather, two people - the only ones there. I say two people as opposed to a couple as it was clear from the moment we entered they were not a couple per se. A guy who was drunkenly pouring out his heart to some female he was trying to impress, all about his miserable marriage etc, etc.It was impossible not to be party to all this being the only other two people there, apart from the barmaid.Ah, the barmaid? A young foreign lady who served us, but had never heard or Cointreau, and obviously didn't have it, but aside from getting our drinks, spend the whole time just out of sight round the corner from behind the bar on her mobile phone. The 'couple' went out for a fag break, and it was like the Marie Celeste by the minute. Once they returned we drank up and took our leave. Hope this guy sorts himself out, and the female doesn't fall for his 'drunken charms'.They do say, "Never judge a book by it's cover" and this was reverse in action - the place looks delightful from the outside, but was so disappointing inside. No atmosphere at all, no anything. St Bride's Tavern is either tucked away just too much, or the lack of welcome and friendly service has turned patrons away by the looks of things. The barmaid seemed unmoved when we were leaving - perhaps she's delighted to be paid to spend her shift on her mobile/texting.
