10 of us gathered as location was ideal for various family members travelling from different directions. Several decided to have some items from breakfast menu and how they regretted the choice!! It is clear it was kept under a hot light before being served as it certainly wasn't freshly prepared. Try eating a piece of card board and you get the idea of the quality of the bacon. The butter provided for the luke warm toast covered maybe 1/4 of the slice and no more was provided when asked for. Hot drinks were fine and pastries etc were also fine. However the cooked items were a massive disappointment. Oh, the lady serving didn't really do a good job of being the public face of the establishment!!!.

We booked a table for six for Christmas Dinner. We were greeted by a smiling waitress who led us to our table. Our pre-ordered meals were beautifully served. The food quality and portion size were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The experience was enhanced by the efficient and helpful waitresses who ensured everything was to our satisfaction. This wasn't our first visit to Squires Stanmore Cafe and most definitely won't be our last. Highly recommended.

We visited the Squires Garden Centre in Stanmore & had a lovely family lunch. It was the first day of the school holidays & the Cafe was full. Despite this the service was exemplary with everyone knowing their roles & working very efficiently as a team. We had a hot meal, toasted sandwiches, kids meal & cake. Everything arrived in good time, was well presented & was delicious. Thank you to Margaret, Yama, Josie, Sandra, the chef & all the kitchen team for making our visit today so enjoyable.

I visited the Cafe today and had lunch with my two daughters and two grandchildren. We sat outside as it was lovely and sunny and we were served by Margaret and Sandy who despite being rushed off their feet were really helpful and polite. Both are a credit to the company. we had the steak pie special which was delicious, a jacket potato with coronation chicken 2 fish finger sandwiches which came with chips and a crushed avocado sandwich all of which were generous portions and good value for money

I often take my 92 year old Mum here for lunch or cake and coffee, service can be slow at times especially when its a nice day but the girls always have a smile for you. But yesterday we were served by a young lady called 'Josie' I felt I just had to write a review, Josie is a credit to your Garden Centre and her customer service is just the best I have encountered anywhere, genuine, helpful, nothing was to much trouble for her, thank you Josie you made our day.

Came here with parents for lunch, the menu is usually always quite wide and so has something for everyone plus is settled in the nice garden centre. We got an assortment of paninis, quiches and sandwiches which came with salads alongside a side of onion rings and sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is very relaxing and their hot food menu is also really good having been before but we just wanted something simple.

I went with a friend to have a coffee and decided to have a scone with butter . This was heated up to hide the fact it was very stale and dry with a minimum amount of butter given , not even enough to spread on it! The scones really should be fresh each day for that price!!

We went to shoots for lunch during the pandemic. The tables weren't spaced out, they just had some flimsy screens between the tables. The food is very ordinary. As with every time that I visited Shoots, the service was incredibly slow. It really spoils a meal if you have to wait too long for the food. I will not rush back here.

I’m referring to the cafe at Stanmore. Standing at the ‘COVID’ barrier being ignored by several members of staff until challenged, followed by glum service. Breakfast very average with overheated scones that left them tasting stale, and a breakfast with such overcooked eggs the yolks were solid! On the plus side, we enjoyed strolling around the garden and pet centre, bought a few bits and parking is very convenient.

I’m slightly conflicted in writing about Squires. On the one hand I like the breadth of its range. On the other hand customer service is hit and miss and what they sell is a bit pricey. That said, it’s a pleasant way to spend an hour though the whole place feels just a little tired.

Friendliest garden Centre. I’ve been going to this garden center for many years and the current owners are as caring as the old . The garden staff know what stock they have what plants suit best soil etc. can’t praise them enough. The ladies on the till are equally as helpful as the staff in the pet shop

Don’t go here with your dog - I asked two of the staff for a bowl of water / container of water for my dog (as we had both had a long walk) they refused and said they were unable to do so!!! They took £15.50 off of me for my tea and something light to eat!!! But they couldn’t provide my poor dog with just a measly bowl of water. What harm would it do to leave ice cream containers on the floor full of water?? Do you know what - you walk into the Hare (who also do food) and you walk into the Case is Altered (who also do food) they absolutely welcome dogs. In fact not only do they come out with water doe the dog but treats as well. For me I’m going to these places from not on - animal cruelty not providing basic water 🤬 Disgusting disgraceful service from you Squires and you consider yourself a pet shop hahahahaha! - to you it all your staff on there till could also do with learning some manners!

Visited Squires with a friend and our toddlers today. First and foremost this is a really great garden centre; the Christmas display is lovely, and the range of items for sale is fabulous. There are also small animals and fish, plus a cafe, so perfect for a morning/afternoon out when the weather is a bit rubbish. My only bugbear is with the way two members of staff spoke to us today. Now, sometimes with toddlers you bring the buggy but they decide they want to walk, so this leaves you trying to push the buggy with one hand whilst also trying to wrangle a small person. My friend left her buggy to the side for two minutes, out of the way so as not to block a gangway while the little ones looked at the hamsters, only to be barked at in a very condescending way by a (young curly haired female) member of staff. It was not “left unattended” and the tone was not appreciated. On to the Cafe, the service in the queue was painfully slow so the little ones were getting restless. At the point at which I was about to be served my little man had had enough of waiting so he sat on the floor. The rude older lady behind the till could see that I was trying to get him up, yet continued shouting “NEXT!”, rushed me to make my choice, was really patronising and every word was barked rather than spoken. Not once did she actually look me in the eye. I cant remember if she was Scottish or Irish but whoever she is she needs a refresher course in customer service. I have worked in service/retail roles myself in the past, I know it is stressful and exhausting but unfortunately customer is King and you need to show both patience and manners, which these two individuals seem to be lacking. Very disappointing as it spoiled the whole experience for me; I made a special trip to visit with my little dude today but am highly unlikely to return.

Let me start with the positives.Friendly staff. Good vegetarian selection. Reasonably priced. However ask what you are getting. I asked for the veggie sausages once and got these ones that tasted like curry. Now I love curry but not for breakfast. They normally have a well known brand and they had run out. I haven't ordered the bloomer toast in a year but it has gone down hill it use to be thick fluffy white bread. It's basically a piece of white bread now very thinly sliced. If you want a cooked tomato you get half a tomato! You pay £1.50 (or it is one of your items) in the breakfast menu. ONE no you get a half.

Worth a visit to walk (even with children) around the actual garden centre but definitely on the pricey side given one can get everything they offer online for much less. The cafe is disappointing on most occassions. The staff are not very customer focused and this is obvious! The food is pricey for what you get and given that you're in Zone 5 in London!

Probably one of the best restaurants in a garden centre that I have ever come across. Be sure to check out the specials board, I had an excellent dressed crab salad. Very large area for pet supplies and fish in particular.

The restaurant here could be rather good but... the food is overpriced for what it is (especially some dishes like the tartlet which is nearly £8 and tiny, and comes only with a small bit of salad on the side). They got my order wrong and gave me a different flatbread then I'd asked for, which they apologised for and rectified quite quickly but meant I didn't get my food until my friends had almost finished theres. And that was after already waiting a fair bit of time for it - this is not the place if you want a quick lunch unless you order cake and coffee. However the flatbread once I got it was nice (a bit too much mayo which I would ask for on the side as it was covered) and cakes were generous slices and tasty.

I gave the cafe at Squires a good review a little while ago. Based upon my visit this week I must backtrack a bit. I arranged to meet someone for lunch at 12:30, so was unsurprised to find the cafe very busy. The queue was long and most of the tables were taken. We decided to take a table outside in a summerhouse on the deck. The roof was missing a large triangular section, the chairs were crammed to one side and there was more than a little rubbish on the floor. While we looked at the menu another table right behind me was taken by smokers. We retreated back inside and luckily found a table there.

Queue up in a slow moving line to order, then sit and wait for the adequate food to arrive. When it comes it does the job as by now you are hungrier. Not worth a detour though, but if you are in the Garden Centre and hungry its OK. The lettuce in my salad was brown at the edges which sums up the food.
