Decided to have lunch here whilst visiting the garden centre. Cheese toasties arrived with the teeniest amount of cheese possible, toast was dry and lots of semi raw red onion. We asked to switch the side salad for skin on fries for an extra £1.75 and we received about 15 fries. A quick lunch came to £34 for a dry mediocre toastie with basically little to no cheese! Friendly service though so can’t fault that.

Come here fairly often for lunch with girlfriends, mainly for the fabulous bacon, brie & avocado panini. It’s disappeared from the menu!! What a disappointment. No paninis anymore, been replaced with stodgy forcacia. Unfortunately not a good decision.

We have been breakfasting at Squires for a couple of years now. The food is excellent, both value for money as well as the quality. Since reopening after lockdown they have adapted brilliantly, I’ve visited several times since and the process is slick!

Tried to book a table and we could not. Most disappointed, but we rocked up on the off chance and struck it lucky. The centre manager and all the cafe staff were efficient friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful and garden potion was calm with lovely view of the garden centre. Ideal

Visited for a weekend breakfast and the food was average at best – seems like they pre cook all the meat stuff and either keep it warm or reheat in the microwave – the bacon was overcooked and like cardboard and the sausages were really tough, the only thing freshly cooked seems to be the egg. Very disappointing and very pricey for a garden centre café.

This was a quick spontaneous lunch trip. Quick service and reasonably priced. We had the ciabatta toasties which we were really tasty! Would definitely return to test out their cakes and biscuits!

This is a nice cafe and good to have a quiet discussion with lovely food and good service. I wouldn’t travel far to eat here but if in the area is nice and good if at St Peters Hospital for a break from the site.

This handy (for us) local garden centre is now able to offer a much wider range of cooked food items than it formerly did due to a modular kitchen building having been added during 2018. They now offer a superb cooked breakfast along with full meals at lunchtimes. We enjoyed a very nicely-prepared '6-item breakfast' each and would happily return again to sample more of the food on offer.

The staff here are so friendly, they deserve a lot of praise. The food and drinks are nice too. We went as a family during the morning for an outing and had a nice time. The portion sizes are generous and it's all presented very nicely too.

Nice food, lovely coffee. Staff friendly and helpful. Our young waitress was so good, nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Went there today. Had a brunch breakfast. Service was good. However the sausages were poor quality and reheated. It’s a shame really as well presented and efficient service. I would visit again but would like sausages sorted as it spoilt a good breakfast.

The cafe is lovely & the tea/ cakes are great. Cakes are huge so you can share. My only complaint is that the place was grubby when we were there, most tables were needing tidied away & in the 45 mins we were there we didn't see any tables near us being tidied. The floor also needed a sweep, i know it's customers that make the mess but i dont want to stand in it. Also the gifts etc were nice & great selection of craft stuff in the shop.

This garden centre has recently been re developed, and has a small shop with the usual garden centre items on sale, and an outside plant area which is set out attractively. The plants are in good condition and reasonably priced. There is a cafe serving food which is served on some very appealing crockery. The staff are very helpful and friendly, so would recommend a visit.

Living only a few minutes away from this Garden Centre, it was overdue a visit since re-opening last year. The Cafe here is new; formerly there were no sit-down refreshments available at this site.

Recently rebuilt garden centre. Most Squires have good restaurants - this one is great. Wide choice of food and the presentation on pottery crockery with coffee and tea served on oblong matching trays which double as saucers is really unusual. Unusual decor. The garden centre isn’t very large but for its size is well stocked with good quality merchandise.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We came to the Garden Centre for a Family Birthday Lunch. A member of the party had coeliac's disease and subsequently we were looking for gluten free meals. We'd been to visit the garden centre, searching for some soil, earlier in the week and loved it. Beautiful, healthy plants and extremely helpful staff. We looked at the cafe as a potential place to eat and noticed there was one gluten free option on the menu. When we asked about the goats cheese tart, and we were advised it was out of stock but there was gluten free bread available (after a little searching). Delighted we returned to the garden centre cafe later for our family birthday meal. The goats cheese tart was still out of stock - days later! This is an item on their permanent menu. A little deflated we asked for a gluten-free mozzarella toastie along with everyone else's meals. While ordering, the manager asked if we'd like the toastie toasted as gluten-free bread is always better toasted, a confusing question but we said yes (obviously!). When the food arrived, all of which came 10 minutes apart, the toastie was cold, missing 60% of the ingredients and quite frankly tasted awful. They got each sandwich ordered wrong and failed to find the table because they'd mixed up the table numbers. The waitress moved on to tell us it was our fault because she'd been out with the (wrong) sandwich calling the (wrong) table number multiple times. We had to go in and re-iterate our order. The manager then proceded to tell us we were wrong and we had to prove our order with our receipt. It was only then when they agreed to remake the (correct) sandwiches. Even then the sandwiches were below average. Nice garden centre but never again for the cafe, teething problems or not.

Decided to try this restaurant for lunch, after leaving St.Peter's Hospital, as most other Squires do extremely good lunches. Not particularly liking what was on offer in the cabinet (the cakes looked wonderful) and wanting a sandwich we asked were this possible. This seemed to cause a little pause in the assistant serving us, but agreed depending on what we would like this could be possible, I ordered cheese and pickle and 'he' asked for a tuna. Our drinks came quickly enough and we sat back to await our food. From where I was sitting I saw the bread being placed in a microwave! Subsequently the sandwiches arrived and were 'cold' in the middle the cheese was so THICKLY sliced which ruined the texture of the sandwich, and the salad garnish was dire-I would assume a week old, brown and limp. So disappointing, It appeared this restaurant had not been open long, teething issues perhaps, let us hope there is some improvement when we next visit as the garden centre is beautiful, well laid out and healthy looking plants, friendly and cheerful staff.
