Spudulike in Basildon

I & a friend visited this establishment a few days ago. we had to queue up at the counter. there was only one person serving & one person at the back dealing with the prepping of the jacket potatoes & putting the fillings on the the jackets.There were several different fillings on offer, I had a chilli filling & my friend had a plain one with just butter. she asked for plenty of butter on hers & was given 3 tiny pats of butter. We also had a "hot" drink each, me a coffee & she had a chocolate as the cold soft drinks dispenser was not working & there was only bottles of soft drinks available. . The drinks were luke warm. The chilli filling was very tasty, although a tad more chilli would have been even better. When we checked the bill, my friend saw that she had been charged an extra 10p for the extra tiny pat of butter! we noticed a lot of tables still had dirty plates on them, all in all this is the place for a cheap & tasty lunch at fair prices if you have lots of time. A few extra staff would be nice though, as you wouldn't have to wait so long before getting your meal

The service was quick and efficient. Just right for a quick stop for lunch and a cuppa before continuing shopping. Potato was cooked well and filling was tasty. Would go again.

Fast and efficient service,clean and tidy,wehave eaten there on several occasions and have always been pleased.

Mi marido y yo visitamos por primera vez y no fue demasiado feliz con nuestro papa... el tamaño de la porción no es el más grande, pero el precio era!!! La próxima vez iremos a la cafetería cerca de juguetes r nosotros!! La piel era tan difícil de cortar me rompió mi fork!! El contenedor de papas en estúpidos que ponen es inútil... demasiado pequeña y era difícil de cortar correctamente! Lo único bueno era la limpieza... el personal era eficiente y la contundente... gambas era muy sabroso... no volveríamos por desgracia

Buen lugar para una parada rápida herradura mientras compras en Eastgate. Varias opciones con el relleno, además puedes doble si prefiere una mezcla de los dos. También hacer los cafés típicos, bebidas frías, etc. Cualquiera puede sentarse en el interior o tome su almuerzo fuera de la zona de estar común fuera de los distintos restaurantes.

Now I know why I don't visit this Spudsulike more than I do. It's clean, staff friendly, prices not too bad but portion sizes, service are not as good as you get in other Spudsulike. Not only that you get it all served on paper plates and have to use plastic cutlery, whilst at other Spudsulike outlets you get proper cutlery and china. Not only that you get all your food served at the sa,e time and not have to chase after it because they have forgotten something. (I admit they did give a £1 refund because of this, the excuse was very poor though). We won't go back in a hurry.

Disappointing lunch was had at Spudulike. In my opinion overpriced for size of portion and staff didn't really make you welcome. Shame really.

Frequently eat in SpuduLike, servers are always friendly and eager to help out. There's always a host member of staff in the diner area so not a problem if you need anything whilst seated. They do not try and up-sell you things you don't want or need. Is a healthier alternative to the other food court options, just a little more expensive than your average McDonalds. Also, note that they only serve one size of soft drink cup, so whatever size you ask for... there's only one! Also note that they only do one seasonal meal deal.

Good value for money..clean...friendly....have used many a time and will keep on using ..nice for a quick lunch...

One of the few fast food outlets with no "Do you want fries with that?". Meal deals are good value, and a good size (I can recommend the chicken tikka).

Even though this doesn't look like somewhere you could get too excited about we stopped for lunch and decided on Jacket potatoes as the lesser of two evils between this and McDonalds! We chose tuna and sweetcorn fillings and cups of tea to drink. The server Elton couldn't have been more helpful, asking us if we were having a good day shopping (and actually looking at us when he spoke and meaning it!) and asking if we wanted any extra milk for tea, sugar or butter salt and pepper for our potatoes. He also asked if he could bring our tray over for us as he saw we had quite a few shopping bags to carry which was a really nice touch. As I said even though this is just a Spudulike its nice to have friendly service and we both thoroughly enjoyed our potatoes saying it was the best ones we had for a very long time. The skins were crunchy but the centres were soft and fluffy. Very nice we will think to go there again and would definitely recommend you pop in for lunch.
