Fantastic range of good priced beers. Large amount of seating and only noise is conversation from other tables. Food extremely good value tasty and table service. Staff pleasant and efficient. Pay car park. But some on street parking. Station nearby.

No atmosphere whatsoever, but it was quite early in the morning so that could be expected. The value for money was really good though. Cheapest pub chain for a pint and has a great selection of beers to choose from. No parking unless you use the tiny NCP car park at the rear but you have to pay for the privilege and is not subsidised by Wetherspoon for their guests and so will not be reimbursed.

Mostly your typical Weatherspoons. Decently priced food. OK quality. Great chips though. Pretty good vegan range. Love the new vegan sausages over the old quorn ones. Could do with a vegan dessert selection as currently lacking.

You know what you're getting at Witherspoon's.standard of food and value for money.they give a service to the community where young and old can meet up any time of the day.

Use this place when meeting up with friends on a friday evening, always find it OK, went today and had breakfast and have to say the mushroom benadict was fantastic. Never found any issues with the place. Our group is mid 50's incase that's of any use to someone.

Have some fantastic real ales on, the dark real ales are my particular favourites, and they always have one or two on .. today I'm spoilt for choice, there's 3. Old growler is particularly good but that's my fav

A cosy favourite whenever in the area. It's both spacious and still comfortable. Quick service, great value, with good food. It's a former old supermarket, converted into a Wetherspoons pub, so don't expect old world drinking venue... But once again, it still would be my first choice every time I was in Billericay

Although the food and service are always excellent I would like to see segregation where screaming children are concerned so that there are quieter spaces to relax and enjoy your meal

Breakfast: burnt sausage, burnt bacon, egg slapped on and yolk broken, anaemic toast. Poached egg hard. It's a value breakfast but not half as good as what Brentwood offers. Sorry.

So while the premises itself was nicely maintained and had a pleasant atmosphere my experience was ruined by the ineptitude of the bar staff. My friend and I were left waiting for 15 minutes while everyone else at the bar was being served. My made a few comments which were ignored and when I finally pointed out we weren't being served I didn't even get a sorry and was told to be patient. I was until I noticed people who came to the bar after us were being served before I was. There was other staff in the background that could have helped, including a manager, but they had their backs to the customers the whole time. I've done bar work in the past and was quite frankly annoyed and irritated by the lack of response by the bar staff, and their demeanour. There was no feeling of team work with most of the staff actively avoiding customer interaction. Shame because an otherwise lovely evening was ruined by poor service and lack of organisation.

Lovely airy bright place. But Spoilt by a member of staff who told us to finish our meals and leave for absolutely no reason other than having a 17 year old Girl in our party drinking a Sunset cocktail. It was a Family reunion of 9 relatives from North Wales and parts of Essex. My 93 year old Mum, myself and Cousins of 40 to 53 and 2x in their 60's, and 3 between 17 to 20 years. We were all smart casual dressed and quiet. We decided to use the Blue Boar Wetherspoons as a great central meeting point, with its wonderful bright roomy interior. We ordered 9 various meals with drinks on the App, which came to over £100. Everything came up in a good short space of time, the waitresses handed out the plates of food, and even handed out the drinks to us. Three quarters the way through eating a member staff (possibly the manager) come up to the table and asked my Cousins Girlfriend her age, which she replied 17. He then preceeded to tell her she was under age to drink alcohol and asked us to finish our food and drinks and leave. We informative put to him that a person of 14 to 17 years of age can have an alcoholic beverage with a meal as long as that they didn't buy it and that they were with a responsible adult. This made no difference and we was told to leave soon as possible after we had consumed our food and drinks. We had ordered more drinks before this happened, which we had to throw down our throats quickly to leave. Thank you Blue Boar. So we arrived at 6.15pm for a reunion of relatives that had travelled 182 miles , that we haven't seen for many many Years, by 7.30 we had to say our goodbyes and leave. Totally Spoilt things. We spent £109 in there that night, hope our contribution to your Tills helped.

I asked for a dry rosè and the barman gave me a sweet rosè. (There is a big difference) My husband asked for it to be changed and the manager refused to change it. He said if you want to change it we would have to pay for it! The mistake was theirs not ours so why should we have to pay for a replacement drink. The managers attitude absolutely stunk!! I have never in my life had such disgusting customer service!!

Non attentive bar staff they look about 18 they serve anyone apart from the person wanting the longest they look aragent and entitled and feel they are doing you a favour that's if you actually get served. It's obvious they have there favourite's. It's a shame because it's a nice pub just a shame that the people who work there are aragent. Go elsewhere.

I got denied entery on the door, with my id because I have a citezin card, it does not say anywhere on the website they do not except them as a photo I’d it clealry has a photo of my face on it and date of birth stating I will be 19 in June, I was absolutely fumming to go out for my friends birthday and not be let in, even when they could of literally scanned my id with the qr code on it, I went to a club a few hours later and was let in straight away when they scanned it, absolutely joke and discrimination. I have tried to contact them numerous times to put a complaint in but can not get through to them. Still the day after I am still fuming!

Apparently they didn’t have enough staff working on the Thursday evening before Good Friday and we were turned away. Very infuriating when you spent £15 on a cab to get there. Really poor organisation for the start of an Easter weekend. It’s not the first time actually. They’ve never got enough staff. It’s really poor management. 🤬

Food cold asked reheated 20 minutes later partner had eaten my meal still not arrived went to bar to find waiter hunting for my table food still not at its best, waiter 2nd time around was rude.

We have travelled to Essex for a few days from North Wales, and this was a small family get together, so we just picked somewhere in between us all, but, so glad we did picked this Wetherspoons, nice and spacious and good atmosphere and nice food. Good Prices, Would recommend 🍽🍻👍

Standard wetherspoons experience, sticky carpets and bathroom somewhat lacking. But after 6 or so years of going here I'm yet to be let down by the service.

Prices were good for what you got! Though, the food was not as hot as it could have been but was just about ok. Serving waitress not overly pleasant but was just doing her job! Rather dark in the pub ! Sadly, it feels like the pub is ready for a overhaul though!!!

Freshly cooked food to order, love the app so don't have to move to the bar to order. Staff friendly and always helpful. Very large seating area so always get a table and love the outside in the summer. The door staff on a weekend are not the same as staff in the pub, they are rude and unhelpful

Waited over 30 mins for our drinks, and food followed a couple of minutes later, despite not being particularly busy. When drinks finally came, there was an empty plastic wrapper in one of them, to which the manager replied, "That comes free." Zero apology, and zero interest in rectifying the situation. Will not be returning.

Went during Lunchtime on a Saturday wasn't too busy however my group of 4 Adults and a Child had to wait 15 Minutes for drinks and almost a hour for our food. (Wasn't big dishes either.) The food was average standard nothing amazing but nothing awful. Only big advantage I can give is it was very well priced. In total 3/5 is fair considering that the food quality and price were reasonable but the slow service considering the amount of customers unfortunately does bring the score down considerably.

Went there with the family, my sister in law got food poisoning form a chicken burger. Luckily the kids were fine but definitely not go there anymore

I along with friends have visited this pub numerous times at lunch time & generally found the service to be good. We often use the Wetherspoons app for ordering meals & drinks to our table & have found the service to our table very good, seldom have to wait long. I have found the meals are good too!

We go to the Blue Boar on a regular basis and have an enjoyable evening. Tonight it was cold and became even colder when the doormen opened the entrance doors and left them like that. Apparently, to eject problem customers in a hurry! Honestly that is ridiculous. They could be opened in seconds. Lots of people were wearing coats and scarves whilst having their drinks. So uncomfortable and bonkers,

Food is as to be expected from Wetherspoons. Three meals and drinks under £25. £2.55 a pint. What's not to like!

The managers are really rude, watching cctv of 3 girls going to the toilet. Then to wrongly accusing of us doing coke. When one of the girls have a medical disorder

Not one of the best we have visited in area. Service at bar very slow, food when it arrived was lukewarm, had to return it for another blitz in microwave. Table was sticky and carpet nit too clean.

Four of us visited on Wednesday 20th December and when we were first in this pub it was extremely busy. We thought we would use the app to order our drinks but for some reason it was not working (we saw no drinks being delivered all evening so assume it was just turned off) After an hour or so the pub emptied out and the ladies in our group were cold so we moved to a booth which was quite central. After a further 10/15 mins we were all feeling cold and then we realised that the main doors were open. I went to close them - but the security guy said I couldn’t. When asking why I was briefly told that they were open in case they had to eject someone in a hurry - although the pub was almost empty by then. After politely explaining that we were cold and pointed out that the majority of people left in the pub had their coats on I was told “if you don’t like it then you should leave” A few minutes later the manageress happened to be walking by and we explained our situation to her - she was very apologetic and said she would try and get the situation resolved. We saw her go and speak to the security people but nothing changed so we left shortly after Won’t be going back until the Summer!!

OK friendly people but always cold here , customers need to come first should turn heating on its December

Nice breakfasts from Wetherspoons Billericay which are less expensive than inner London. £4.99 for Miners Benedict. Great selection of drinks, especially hand-pulled real ales at fantastic prices. Roomy and plenty of seating with small outdoor seating area at rear. Very reasonable prices, main meals combo with an alcoholic or soft drink for under £10. Plenty of 'pub grub' classics, ideal for a winters day.

Not a bad Spoons. Importantly, tables were not too sticky and the beer was ok.

The pub was a mess when we walked in at midday, had to clear our own table. Had to ask at the bar for our drinks that has been made but waiting on a tray whilst they chatted. Panini was awful, would not recommend at all. My friends burger was good. Chicken wings good also

Visited with group of 20 in total had food and drinks . We were refused drinks at around 7pm with no reasoning , no issues we were loud as girls having Gina laughter , nobodies behaviour was unacceptable . All in our late 40’s . Very disappointed

Appalling customer service. We went there as a family on a Wednesday early evening to celebrate a granddaughters 18th birthday. Before going we had checked the website which clearly stated that children were welcome with no time restrictions. We arrived about 7.30pm and bought a round of drinks for our group, which included a 17 and a 15 year old. When going up at about 7.50pm to order some more drinks we were told that the 2 youngsters would have to leave the pub as “children” were not allowed in the pub after 8pm. So thank you Wetherspoon for ruining a young ladies 18th birthday celebration. You should correct your website to make it clear when under18’s are allowed in, we were told that, notwithstanding the website clearly saying they were allowed, it was up to the manager. Seeing as the premises were half empty they couldn’t even use being busy as an excuse.

Steak was just a cheap piece of steak but the price was up . Seems to be roulette to see if you get a good piece ,as regulars here and at other Spoons.

Sadly service levels have dropped, not enough staff and no energetic managers.

after my interactions with the door staff I will remove all previous positive feedback. small group of eight people, ordered drinks and food. At around 8 pm, we were unexpectedly denied further drinks due to what we were told was excessive noise. We hadn't received any prior warnings from the staff regarding our noise level; otherwise, we would have certainly tried to be more considerate. As we were leaving, one of the ladies in our group briefly went to use the restroom. After approximately 10 minutes, another lady from our party attempted to re-enter the establishment, but she was obstructed by a bouncer in a rather discourteous and confrontational manner. It's important to note that all of us are in our 40s and 50s.We left with goodwill and was not expecting for the door staff to be so rude and aggressive. This unfortunate encounter with the door staff marred our overall experience at Wetherspoons, which had been going quite well up until that point. I do not feel that the door staff are suited to weatherspoons Consequently, we decided to move on to the Red Lion, where we enjoyed a wonderful evening with live music. I now reccomend the Red Lion any day of the week and skip the weatherspoons

Ordered drinks using the app been waiting for over 20 min! When I asked by the bar about it I been told that’s to heavy to carry 😳 but know one told me to get them or anything ! When another person bring them to as he was rude and even spilt the drink on my leg and did no even apologized just walked away. Very poor service!

Nice pub. Decor is nice . The rear stepped out side area with plenty of seating was good. Bar was busy on a Friday. Will definitely use the "Spoons" app for ordering next time. Though the wait at the bar wasn't that bad. Helpful staff even though they could do with another person clearing glasses.

A very nice pub with a superb beer garden out the back with some tables either side of a walkway with stairs leading to a lower level. The Staff were wonderful and friendly- always smiling, lovely to see. Lots of the usual seating but with plenty of room to move about. The pub was very clean and tidy and the Guinness was excellent. A bit of a walk from the station, but not too bad even if it was uphill, but well worth it

Relaxing time with my family having a coffee and a bite to eat, found a table straight away, polite service and not too long to wait for food.

Great place if you want good value food and drinks. The pub was extremely busy and we had to wait a while for our food, but it was hot and tasty when we eventually received it. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is an option to use an app to order food and drink at your table so you don't even need to leave your seat to visit the bar.

Old guy behind the bar couldn’t get my order right. We ended up only getting half of the food we ordered, then had to go reorder it. Other staff were lovely and accommodated us nicely.

Look whatever you do, make sure you don't bring your Nan & Grandad here for a nice Sunday afternoon drink because it seems like the staff are massively intimidated by the elderly and will request that they leave. I guess Nan shouldn't of had that extra cuppa!

Busy Friday night but place was clean and the staff served & cleared up quickly. Always echoey & noisy because it was a converted supermarket. Cheap drinks prices make it popular!
