It’s never on time I’ve even tried ordering early and it still doesn’t make it here on time

ordered scampi and chips and just got cold chips!!!! the fish and chips was cold and the fish was a medium at best - soggy batter to !!! not a good experience

The Saveloy was disgusting.Burnt up and tasteless.The chips were terrible and tasteless.The curry sauce was stodgy and looked like the contents of a baby's nappy.This once good chip shop is now somewhere to avoid.Will I return? No way.The staff were great and considering the woman who served me has been there 24years never got a gold chip aword to honer her services lol.

Never on time , tonight the driver couldn’t have gone any slower. Standing there putting numbers into his phone whilst my food got colder

wish the delivery was longer them maybe the fish would have been cooked better as the batter was mushy inside and not crispy the fish was flat and soggy

I always ask for salt when I order and never get any, I ordered large chips, partner regular, but we both got the same amount, onion rings can't be cooked hot enough as they are just a straight drink of oil

totally wrong order came. ended up with kids meal. won't orderagain

Everytime I come here I am served promptly and my food is ready very quickly. Really good quality chippy and I would always recommend. The only bad thing for me is they do not serve cod roe anymore, so if that's what you're after then you'll have to go somewhere else for it. Large chips is more than enough for me, my other half and the kids. So bear that in mind when you order your portions.

Only thing is I did love their RIBS but they don’t done them anymore but everything else is really good

The food was great, as always. The delivery was excellent.

Seems to be the only chippy round here open on a Sunday & they serve great food. The fish was hot & tasty & chips nicely done.

A chip shop that managed to forget to deliver any chips

Awful absolutely awful, chips tasted old even though they had been cooked in front of me and had no flavor at all, battered sausage was rubbery and could barely get my teeth through honestly one of the worst chips I've had, only saving grace was the staff at least they were polite and helpful. Couldn't even finish it waste of £30 if you ask me.

All was ok except the price of £3.80 for a chip butty ! I understand money is tight but that price is just greed by the owner who clearly is not ashamed so unless you have won the lotto stay away, and let's hope no customer's will cause the greed of the owner to eventually correct that price or be forced out by the community.

The chips here are the best! The fish (we get the haddock) is also great but the chips are so much better here than other places.

kids cod was dry and tough. the large chips was more a small/medium size. very disappointing considering Churchills was the go to place for fish and chips. not very good value for money. delivery time was quick

Food served cold and under cooked, chips were soggy. Service was slow and the young lady seemed concerning confused and unsure of what she was doing.

Forgot my nuggets and sausages, phone restaurant, only to be told I can go through just eat or come and collect it myself, here’s an idea, send out the missing items, that’s why we pay for delivery

Food to good standard but portion size ridiculous. Looked like 1 jacket potato per portion. Used to be a generous amount but has reduced significantly and not worth over £30 for a takeaway meal. Will not be returning- way too expensive for such little food

Bought food from here for years. Last time I got food from here, I got a chest infection. Obviously food hygiene and staff health has been put on the back burner.

Ordered a number of things and everything was less than luke warm. Normally the food is relatively hot, but this was disappointing.

Delicious fish and chips, scampi, squid and chicken also served! Tried it and loved it! The place has been around for over a 100 years and the service is brilliant. Definitely recommend. It's not a restaurant, but there is parking around. So you can always eat in your car :) also, they deliver!

The large and medium cod were exactly the same size! The chips were 100% inedible!! My husband never complains about anything but he was so furious that he had paid £34 for 1 medium cod and chips and 1 large cod and chips and the fact that the meals were ruined by the absolutely disgusting chips,he called the takeaway and complained, The young lady promised to rectify this on our next order by giving us 2 portions of chips but we feel we should have been offered complete meals or a full refund,

Thank you,some parts were more expensive than say cod cake meal but all seemed to enjoy and received the items without issue

I am visited Churchill fish and chips in Pitsea last night and ordered three bits of southern fried chicken and a Royale chicken burger, Was very expensive at £15, the tiny portion of chips was stone cold and dry like chewing cardboard, the chicken was small and overcooked and had been under the heat counter for ages, when I contacted the head office they wanted receipts, photos, time of visit etc, it was obvious, they did not believe me. When they first came to Pitsea, the food was great the service good and value for money. It has certainly gone downhill now with very few customers when I have visited. It seems they are more interested in profit than quality and service.

Chips a little old and stale but cod was delicious

food was below par. ordered 4 saveloys and only received 1. this is the scond time this has happened. there will not be a third. ordered from here again to see if they had upped their game. they haven't. used to be one of the best restaurants in pitsea but in my eyes now one of the worst. from never receiving an order to items missing off an order. don't waste your money or time.

This isn't the first time, southern fried chicken and free chips. Chicken cold that is 6 pieces all cold. Chips lovely and hot. Does no one check the temperature of the food. If you do you wouldn't be serving cold chicken. I was offered a credit but serving cold chicken is dangerous. Perhaps the local health inspector would be interested.

UPDATE..... After 10 yrs of the occasional bag of chips when we was in the area I thought I'd treat my dad to these exceptionally gorgeous chips with some fish, never tried it but thought it should be equally nice....how wrong was I! When we got home to eat them we was so disappointed, soggy chips and fish like rubber! My misses said it's the worse fish she ever tasted. Shame, I really dont understand how it went wrong so quickly. We wont be returning. I returned! What a mistake! £12.25 for sausage and chips and a pensioner's mini cod and chips! My poor dad came out of hospital and wanted fish...well he got about 10 chips and a tiny tiny piece of fish. I gave him most of my dinner...I think all chip shops should be very careful because reducing portions isn't doing them any favours as this is the 2nd chippy I've visited now that has done this. After reading all recent bad reviews I think this shop is doomed!
