Sprotbrough Tearooms is a firm favourite for friends and family. We’ve visited many times and the quality of food is always excellent - the home baking is outstanding - and there’s always a warm welcome and great service from the staff. The kids in our family particularly love the children’s meal (pictured), which is just enough for them and the bun can be swapped out for a healthier option (although ours always prefer the delicious homemade butterfly bun!). Highly recommended!

It was actually a while ago that I visited so service may have changed but when me and my grandmother visited we ordered a ploughman's style platter and while the food was nice we had to wait over an hour, baring in mind all of the food on the platter was cold and only needed a scotch egg cutting in half etc. Yet people around us who had arrived later were having hot food brought out to them before we were served. When we questioned this we were not offered much of an apology and no discount for the long wait.

My husband and I decided to go here for Saurday lunch. We ordered a sharing board which was like a massive ploughman's. Lots of ham, various cheeses, scotch egg, pork pie, salad, french bread and pickles/accompaniments. All washed down with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. Friendly staff and lovely surroundings.

Found by accident on way home from Doncaster station. Lovely setting with a good choice of homemade cakes and savouries. I chose a sandwich which was enormous. Quite expensive, however. Easy to park nearby and clean. Pleasant staff .

Popped into Sprotbrough village tea rooms for a late lunch with my daughter. Although this place has now been open for a while this was our first visit and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Surroundings and decor were very nice, service was prompt and efficient and food was lovely. Really good selection of cakes which you could also take away. This will definitely be the first visit of many and I would certainly revcomend this place

What a beautiful tea room. The decor is captivating and the tea rooms is very clean. All the staff made myself and my family feel welcome, all the food is home cooked and was full of flavour which is rare these days as most places microwave food. There is a massive variety of homemade cakes to order in or to take out. I will definitely be visiting this family run business again, would highly recommend!

Popped in after walking along the canal. This is a pretty new conversion and is immaculate inside and out. Parking is limited, only about 5 spaces and parking is also limited on the surrounding roads. Great selection of cakes, sandwiches, coffees as you would expect. The premises is also licensed. Service was quick, two lattes and a cranberry tiffin was £7. Toilets (even the men’s) were immaculate. Will definitely return.

I visited today at about 14.30 to avoid lunch time period. Despite having a couple of empty tables inside, it was very busy and following a wait with no indication that our presence had been noticed, I approached a member of staff to ask for menus.

Wow how this place has deteriorated in the past year!! Took Mum for her birthday 2 adults and 2 children. Waited an hour for our overpriced afternoon tea, in which time the kids had been served and finished their food. Lack of service, eye contact, acknowledgement. The sandwiches were lovely but sadly the cakes were dry. Then overcharged at the till!!! Luckily I noticed as I wasn’t offered the receipt. £50 wasted....... yes £50 for 2 adults and 2 children!!!

This is a new venture and has to compete with Ottos just across from it and the Boat Inn further down. Parking might be an issue at very busy times. It’s a well set out space with clear menu. Our food came to us outside; a special of eggs on avocado and bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon. All good if fairly unadorned by the salad garnish which was on the menu. The fruit juices were definitely well marked up and the dishes felt to me on the expensive side of lunch snack food. Nothing wrong, all clean and tasty but not reaching unique or wow.

Four of us went one afternoon for a late light lunch. The place is a rebuilt/renovated old post office and is just beautifully done. Large windows look onto courtyard with outdoor seating for summer. Bathroom alone is worth a visit. Wait staff are well trained and attended to us perfectly. We had sandwiches and soup, all delicious, followed by 'difficult to choose from' fab cake selection and tea/coffee. At 7.95ukp for a (doorstep slices of lovely bread) sandwich with salad, coleslaw and crisps, our only comment for improvement for us would be to have the choice of a smaller (and cheaper) sandwich without trimmings, in order to be able to fit in the cake! Our older companions both took home (well wrapped and presented) doggy bags of half a sandwich and half their cake. Staff also gave us cake and scones to take home because it was close to closing and they had extra stock! Bonus!

WOW, what a treat we expected one Afternoon Tea between My wife and I, but what a surprise when we got one each. We got three Afternoon Teas as a present for our Golden wedding, we have been to the other venues for Afternoon Teas, but this one out shines them all, the amount you get on your plates is outstanding, there was so much that we had to bring some cakes home, they also have unlimited tea or coffee, I had a pot of tea, which held at least six cups of tea ( that's just a guess because I didn't drink it all, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and it's well worth the money.

Visited with 3 generations of family who all found the place lovely . Dads a stickler for attention to detail , good manners and quality and all his expectations were met . We all ordered a selection of warm food from the menu which was brought out together piping hot and served with a smile . The staff were very attentive. Tea was of the plenty and served per person in individual large teapots. Would defiantly recommend . I have also visited this place in the summer and the atmosphere is lovely with plenty of seating and space where I enjoyed the afternoon tea accompanied with a prosecco .will visit again .

I have visited the tea rooms on several different occasions. The first two times I ordered the feta salad; the first time it was nice but certainly left me hungry. The second time both my sister and I ordered this salad and both left it. There was a minimal amount of feta and some leaf that was completely swimming in the dressing making it inedible. Bit shocking it’s priced close to £10.

My sister and I took Mum for her birthday. After hearing mixed reviews about this place we decided to give it ago, so glad we did!!! We ordered three afternoon teas which were absolutely delightful the quality of food is superb. The three teas could have easily have fed six!! Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was busy and cosy. The place itself is very tastefully decorated even down to the ladies toilet. We couldn't eat everything so staff happily bagged it all up to take home. We are going to try Friday night Pie night can't wait .

My wife had enjoyed afternoon tea at this establishment so “Pie Night” sounded perfect. The place is 'spotless', the ambiance and décor is very good. The wine is not cheap but worth the money. Everything was fine until they served the food. My wife's was just about OK thought it was served on a plate that could have been stored in the freezer. However my meal was stone cold. I was hungry (straight from work) so I picked at the meat in the pie. However both of us left most of our meal. The young waitress asked “Is everything OK”

I visited here with family for afternoon tea. Although we had a booking we had to wait over 40 minutes while they waited for other tables to empty. We were then given a table for four (there were five of us) so waited again for another table to become free. Several requests were made for drinks. These either didn't arrive or were the wrong ones. The afternoon tea when it came was poor quality especially for the price. Sandwiches were starting to curl, very ordinary cakes.

We visited for lunch. I ordered a jacket potato with prawns and my husband ordered the soup of the day. It was quite busy so we expected a little delay, but we were waiting at least 40 minutes. When it arrived my potato wasn't particularly hot although it was nice and there were plenty of prawns. On the whole it was pleasant but the long wait ruined our plans for the afternoon.

Went with a friend for a cuppa & a natter. Having never been before it made a wonderful first impression. A very aesthetically pleasing tea room. A beautiful courtyard area with a gorgeous outside seating area; several wooden benches on the faux grass to one side & lovely little tables right outside the windows. We sat inside where there were ample tables with mis-matched chairs. The chandeliers were fabulous & added to the ambiance.

Visited with a friend for lunch. The place was busy (I would suggest booking to ensure you gaurantee a table; on the basis of this visit, we were lucky.) It is lovely inside and in a prime location in the heart of Sprotbrough. You can sit in or (depending on the weather) out. The menu comprises of a good selection of sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes and quiches. I ordered the chicken and bacon salad with twice cooked chips and there was nothing to fault. My friend enjoyed her sandwiches too. I decided to sample the homemade apple and blackberry pie with custard and it was fantastic. There is an excellent selection of homemade cakes. The service was efficient and friendly and for the quality of the food, the prices were good. Will definitely return. Very highly recommended.
