Sprinkles Gelato in Basildon

Visited for the first time on Saturday. I am a wheelchair user so used the lift. We used the app to order although you can order at the counter. Food arrived fairly quickly and couldn't fault it. We had waffles and they were lovely. Staff friendly too. Looking forward to going again.

love this place! The food is delicious with so much variety to choose from and the staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend a cookie dough ;)

I went to Sprinkles Gelato in Basildon with my daughter for a treat. Our server was called Katie and she was really helpful and polite throughout, even when I had a problem ordering online and she had to use the till for me, it was problem for her. The food arrived quickly, within probably 10-15minutes of ordering as it was quiet, and it tasted delicious. We really like going Sprinkes as it’s the best ice cream dessert shop around and the desserts are always tasty so we go regularly.

We were so disappointed with this visit for many reasons. 1. There were no prices on the menu we were given, so we were shocked by the prices. 2. There was no information about allergens on the menu. 3. Gluten free cones or waffles were not offered. 4..Very little staff contact as you HAVE to order on line. We will certainly not be going again to any Sprinkles

Warn't allow a straw for my refill got told only for milkshake also got told no extra sugar or lemon on my pancake My pancake came with my ice cream on my creep I wanted it in a pot on the side then got told I’m not allow The lady in the white shirt needs to not be working here makes my visitor not welcoming.

I came to Sprinkles 29th Sept at 7.30pm and was so disappointed with the experience. A large kids birthday party a few metres away made so much noise it was unbearable. Sounded like a zoo I couldn’t wait to eat my food and leave. They then started running around and climbing on the seats next to us, we then had a waffle thrown on our seat. This isn’t acceptable and kids parties shouldn’t ruin other people’s experiences. A party room would be a good idea. Have emailed twice and still no response!

Took too long to arrive. & waffles were cold so ice cream didn’t melt Waffles were cold so bit disappointed 😔

Very nice food, waiting time was good. Very friendly staff. Disappointed they no longer take any form of cash neither do they take orders it all has to be done from your table and a QR code. The fact you don't have the freedom to use cash or talk to someone and order this means elderly or people that don't do computers or card are not welcome.

Ordered a tea and a black coffee. Only 5 tables with customers. 29 minutes later the tea and coffee came. No apology or even an update on what's happening or why its taking so long....not impressed £3 for hot water and a tea bag. Terrible service

Fantastic place to visit, highly recommend a visit! Try the “i love you to pieces” waffles ( or any of the waffles and pancakes) all awesome. Kids loved sharing one of the sundae jars, delicious! Great service a team as well. It’s 5 stars from us

Rude staff and had to sit and wait too long, and this was a takeaway. Also said at the start wanted it no topping but didn’t listen . Cake was so dry and microwaved which I wasn’t impressed.

My daughter and her friend visited the restaurant. They were on their own for the first time in a restaurant without any adults. The restaurant wouldn't accept cash and they had to use the app. They had trouble getting the website/app working to pay for their food. When they asked for help, the reply was "nobody else seems to be having trouble with the app" and they were left to figure it out without help. I think they could have been much more helpful than to just leave the girls to sort it out. Eventually they got it working and managed to pay but it took them the best part of 30 mins to do so. Rubbish place.

The venue only accepts orders via the app but to use it my partner had to log in and give loads of personal details. The ice cream was ok nothing special.

This place is great. Love the selections of ice creams however lately I have been getting into Reese’s and their ‘I love you to pieces’ crepe is amazing and is my new favourite. They have always been accommodating and the staff are friendly. The manager is always welcoming and always checks in to see if everything is fine. Will be back soon. Clean and tidy and all desserts are presented well

We love Sprinkles! We have visited so many times and think it's time we wrote a review! The staff are always so friendly and helpful, they have gone out of their way to help my daughter who is petrified of hand dryers. They are so helpful and are really personable. The ice cream is fab, cannot recommend the cookie dough and the 'Sticky Situation' enough and the restaurant is always spotless and clean. We love it here so much and its never very long before we are back for more!

Came with my family. Firstly you have to order from your phone, there are no prices on any of the menus there is literally no interaction with the staff. Dispute ordering with instructions the order we received was not as requested. Also there was a disgusting thick skin on my ice cream. When pointed out to a staff member his reply was that’s how it comes and that it is edible. I ordered ice creamn not skin.

Like many others, I didn't realise you could only order via the app. My tech-savvy daughter and I tried for about 25 minutes to download the app, deleting other apps to make space, but without success. There were plenty of staff around so I cannot fathom why they cannot take an order in the normal way.I thought eating out was so supposed to be a pleasurable experience. I refer to an example of a voucher and my visit to Sprinkles Gelato on the 6th August 2021.This particular voucher (to the value of £10) was ordered by my Mother in Law as a gift to help my wife and I celebrate our wedding Anniversary and my birthday. We were under the impression that this voucher could be used in any branch of Sprinkles Gelato, including the one located at the Festival Leisure Park in Basildon.Our visit was sadly not a memorable one. Upon arrival a waitress ‘ceased’ the voucher explaining that its appearance could potentially make it invalid in this particular outlet of the franchise. Upon her return from checking it, she confirmed that this was in fact the case, as a result of the Basildon outlet no longer being part of the appropriate franchise. I then asked to speak to someone in authority, and although the waitress briefly explained that she was in a managerial position on the floor, she would nevertheless summons her manager to come and speak to me. When the manager arrived she began to show me a copy of a letter that would have been sent to my Mother in Law, along with the voucher when she originally ordered it. This was definitely not the case! Both my wife and I are not only extremely disappointed but currently have no desire to visit any Sprinkles Gelato branch ever again! I left work early specially to come here on this occasion, not to mention the difficulties that go along with taking a five-month old baby! I have complained to the Head Office via email, suggesting that they come up with an equitable solution for my wife and I, for I very much see fit in going to the press and Trading Standards over false advertising and not to mention some extremely poor service!

Popped in after our dinner to get just a scoop of ice cream each. Greeted at entrance and said we just wanted a scoop of ice cream to take out. Told we had to download the app. Questioned why we needed to download an app and couldn't i just pop to the counter to look at the selection and order. Told there wasn't a counter and had to be done on the app. Ridiculous. I understand that during covid times things were different but now restrictions are lifted, why can't we have a simpler system? I don't want to download an app for such a simple thing so i didn't, we left and went to the cinema foyer where we got a scoop of ice cream... ordered at the counter and not through an app. Simple!

Had cookie dough and a strawberry crepe from deliveroo. 24 quid . This is an absolute rip off one crepe with what equated to three small strawberries cut up a tiny pot with ice cream and one with syrup. If this cost anymore than 30 p to make it would be a miracle. The cookie dough was small and same little pots . The people charging this amount should be arrested for theft. I cannot think I’ve ever been ripped off this bad for anything I’ve bought.

First off, the guy on front of house 02/07/21 at basildon was wonderful; helpful, polite and I would have tipped him, however... The policy is you have no option but to pay via the app; I am 37 and struggled with downloading the app, I know many people over 50 would have left and felt less than welcome. There is no option to pay by cash, but they charge 50p to pay by card, I spend £50 in there, 50p isn't much, but it's an insult.Then the food comes out, on tacky plastic plates, with tacky metal looking plastic cutlery from a pound shop somewhere. I don't think it's over priced because it's a treat, but if I am paying as much as that I expect an actual fork to eat my food with!I'll only go back if my children beg!

Terrible service, unhelpful staff, NO smile or greetings...You have to download an app to order...Enter table number and you're charged 50p...There is no pictures on this app.... just a description, a child likes to see picture of what he wants... there is no pictures behind counter....So, dont bother... ps they sell ice cream in cinema.

Unimpressive from the moment we walked in, I have been a couple of years ago and was completely different. Not acknowledged for a few minutes, we were the first ones in so were not busy. Waffle was cold and not cooked in the centre, my daughter made the comment that the bananas were warmer! Will not be wasting my money again.

The app to order food is attrocious yet is the only way you can place an order! They make customers go and collect their food even though current UK restrictions forbid this! Staff we’re dismissive & not helpful at all!! Will not be coming back!

I came here with a few friends for some quick desserts, each person had to order through the app and pay a 50p charge for service charge even though you have to go up to get your order at the til, even though table service is a legal requirement due to covid guidelines ! NOT IMPRESSED !!

Had a lunch and after came for sweet treat :) Its great place for that as choice is insanely huge ! Kids loved it and adults too. I think its the best place to take my children for a treat around here.

Shocking customer service! When I arrived, before I could ask for a table, the manager told me I was breaking the law because I had walked in with a big group of people. I wasn’t even with them but he assumed we must be together because we were all Asian - it was just my family I wanted a table for. He finally gave us a table. He didn’t even have the common courtesy to apologise. Very rude customer service and clearly quite racist too!

Staff are incredibly rude, was told we didn’t have to book for a table of 4. When we arrived we spoke to the same guy who was on the phone who told us we should have booked and there is a wait, I asked how long the wait was and he said could be 5 mins could be 20 mins. He was condescending and rude when speaking to me and my wife. Will never return.

I visited the basildon branch on Monday 5th October 2020 at approx 7.15 myself and two work colleagues and four of our service user that we support who are adults with learning disabilities and one wheelchair user. We phoned in advance to book two tables to adhire to covid guidelines my colleague asked over the phone when booking if it was possible to pay with cash as each service user has there own money and unable to pay on card and they said it was fine not a problem. We were running late due to bad weather we tried phoning 4 times to let them know and no answer.We arrived the waiter said we are late we explained we did try phoning his reply was "well we are busy" he said wait here which due to our service users and there needs we didn't think we needed to wait which is why Is why we booked and they became agitated. We were seated on two tables next to eachother which we expected. The waiter then explained how to order, my colleague then explained she spoke to someone on the phone and they said it was ok for us to pay with cash the waiter said no it's card only and walked away. We thought he was going to find out if there was anything he could do or find out who we spoke to but he didn't return to the table.By this point the service users began to get very agitated so we had to leave.Myself and my colleagues and the service users were very disappointed by the way we all were treated concidering it took some organisation for us all to be able to take the service users out together and getting them out into the rain and then back out again without having a dessert out which we had promised.

Went here for a catch up after lock down. The service was awful. The wait for food was ridiculous. The staff's English is really poor. The food was not edible and when I complained their only consolation was to give me 25% off my next order. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from staff. I will never set foot in here again. Over priced, rude and dirty.

Really not a very impressive establishment at all. Waited forever to get a table then told they were ‘busy’ (there were only four other tables) and it would be a half hour wait for an ice cream. Also told to download an App in order to order food (why?!). This was all a bit more hassle than I was looking for in order to treat my four year old to a strawberry ice cream so we left and went to the ice cream parlour in the cinema, which was fantastic.

We ordered on an app because of Covid and our order took 25minutes. This was a disappointing time to wait as this included our drinks, plus we ordered sundaes so they didn’t have to cook. So we sat there for 25minutes thirsty.When it came out my sundae was mainly ice cream with stale popcorn......yum. Not a lot of brownie To eat this, they gave us a tiny plastic spoon which wasn’t big enough to reach the bottom or strong enough to get the thick sauce. Eating it was more effort than walking up the stairs. I was disappointed with their view of reducing plastic waste. Everything was plastic! They could have given us fit for purpose metal sundae spoons rather than the tiny plastic ones.

I think they have done a really good job at enforcing social distancing measures, we came here on a Groupon and it was a good deal, two desserts and a hot drink for £9 i had the sugar baby which had strawberries icecream marshmallows and white chocolate sauce they have a lot of topping on and the pancake is super fresh and warm. the plates/cutlery etc was disposable so it was nice to know they dispose of things afterwards. i had a great time here and think it's great for a treat.

My boyfriend and I visited sprinkles at around 8pm last night and ordered 2 waffles with a bottomless drink via the app. We waited around 40 minutes which was fine as the place was busy and this is the usual wait time for our food! However, it was very strange eating our waffles on paper plates...I’m not sure the reason for this? I guess to bin them straight after but if it’s for the environment, well, the cutlery and straws are plastic so? Strange! Overall, waffles were yummy and cost around £7.90 for 2 due to the new eat out to help out scheme. Our reason for going really.

Absolutely dreadful service. Extremely slow and ridiculous online ordering system which is very complicated. Don’t bother coming here.

In this bad time we do call and collect and delivery will be shortly as well, we will do all possible to be with you our dear customers in this hard period for all of us. Management staff are a joke!!!!!!!!!! The pure arrogance of the man who doesn’t have one once of customer service in his body god only knows how he got the job. We got the smug and arrogance look and complete lack of compassion and understanding and reading from a guideline like a call centre !! by the sounds of previous comments on here it’s not the first complaint about the staff .... perhaps if he actually came out of his office instead of sitting in his office sending a young girl to deal with a customer service issues after requesting a manager . If I was the owners of this company I’d be removing this man from his position ASAP before you get any more negative feedback about your staff and the reputation of this place ....

Went for family catch up using a Groupon voucher. Really relaxed atmosphere in there and so much choice. The girl who served us, Chloe was really lovely and very patient as I kept changing my mind! Went to try Sprinkles out for the first time today, 30 minute wait that we weren’t aware of, rude workers who had no clue what they were going. Wouldn’t hurt to crack a smile, especially from the mixed race girl with long dirty fake nails on, making food. Yuk! Nails aren’t supposed to be worn when workingwith food!! Asked if they had any vegan options, to that we got a shrug and no answer. After 25 mins went up to the counter to ask for a refund and a foreign, blonde woman in black top turned her nose up at us, threw my receipt at me and insisted I waited. Got my money back, won’t be returning. Staff need to sort their attitude out. Been to dessert joints before and had waffles served in 3 minutes, fresh and nice. CHEAPER IN OTHER PLACES. It’s a shame as basildon is missing a good dessert place. DON’T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME!!

A family birthday treat, waited to be seated, Sprinkles was not very busy but we were left waiting and only people in the queue. When seated we were put round by the toilets where most of the foot traffic was, being that the kitchen was through the same doors. We asked to move because of that reason and instead of being accommodated, the server tried to put a case together as to why she couldn’t seat us anywhere else. Looking around there were plenty of seats free, I was going to walk out at this stage but my husband convinced me to give it another go. We changed tables although it was not welcomed and ordered our deserts. No waffles available but only advised at the end of our order, another chance to walk away but we changed our order. Then waited 50 minutes before receiving them. There was plenty of staff but only one person assembling them, they were very young people standing around with almost nothing to do. When received the cutlery was dirty and we asked for clean utensils. I’m very unimpressed the food was mediocre at best, I left disappointed we spent £30 on 4 deserts, but it’s made me realise I will never go back, a Rossi down the seafront far outweighs this trip.
