Amazing place and atmosphere, food is exquisite apart from the sea food dishes, everything else is absolutely beautiful 😍

Had a really good meal at this Cantonese Restaurant. Everything was piping hot and very tasty. We enjoyed all of the dishes we tried, including sweet and sour fish and duck in plum sauce 😋. The staff were lovely and service was excellent. We will be returning.

I used to go here in the 00s for birthday parties / special events as I went to school in Calverton so it was the 'go to' event place. I'm not sure if the decor has changed since then but it's well maintained and very clean - as are the toilets. As others have stated, it's an all you can eat but a different type to the standard buffet affair. Dishes are prepared fresh to order, food not being wasted is encouraged and portions are made according to the size of the group to ensure that everyone gets a bit of each order. Duck is £3 extra. The service is excellent, staff really attentive and full of smiles. The quality of the food was very good - excellent, the portions were just right. The noodles were really nice, as were the spring rolls, ribs, chicken skewers & sizzling beef in black pepper sauce. The drinks were quite expensive and price list not on the table so it can become an expensive night out if you're on a budget - but it's well worth giving a try or for a special occasion that's not a pub but not too formal, either. It's not somewhere that you'd go to weekly - although I'm sure that some people could do and perhaps do, but I would definitely recommend trying it. Even if one was to try the reasonably priced takeaway options to get a flavour (literally) of what Springwater has to offer then try it for sure!

Ridiculous, seats 8,000 but has parking for 100, if you're coming for a celebration date you won't be able to park in the car park, nearest parking is Storth Lane, Pontefract

Not been for a long time found it rather expensive and if you're in a big party limited to what you can have for starters only 4 per group. It's perhaps better if you go as a couple!

Always seem to book last minute, but they always squeeze us in! Have aquired the tag "Last minute dot com!" Busy busy Saturday night, amazingly quick service, a considerable amount of waiters/servers, all attentive and eager to please. A well managed restaurant with great food at a reasonable price. Eat as much as you want, no restrictions, usually a free drink on the house at the end, at the discretion of the house obviously. Wonderful experience, cracking evening, the only improvement this restaurant will need is a larger car park! Victims of their own success!

Surprisingly great, 1st visit despite living close to this restaurant for many years! The place is huge and was completely full when we arrived but everything was fantastic - brilliant service, delicious hot food and so much choice! I can’t wait to go back. We choose the all you can eat menu which was incredible value and some of the nicest Chinese food we’ve had.

My son and 7 friends visited here last night to celebrate his 21st birthday and what a shame they wished they hadn’t they were very disappointed with the amount of food brought out each time with only 4 choices not enough in each portion for 8 people . Each course served of starters took half an hour to arrive ?? Each visit for them to the bar had to be over £10 minimum so no going to the bar for just one drink ?? This place has gone down hill so if your looking to celebrate a special well any accasion look else where don’t bother visiting here 🤮🤮🤮

The empty plates speak for themselves. This is a buffet type restaurant, but not a serve yourself type; order 4 items (starter or mains) and it is sized to suit your party. The food quality, appearance and taste is great and the service just right- not in your face and removing plates as just as you put your fork/chopsticks down but in sight and waiting for your nod. The atmosphere is casual but not scruffy. It’s a pleasure to take your partner/wife/significant other on an anniversary/date night or a teenager for their 16th, or just because it’s Friday. Top marks to the staff.

Great food, but massively over priced

This place is a total rip of for children. We had a 3 and 5 year old, charged £13 each barley ate anything, No children's menu. There are better chinese to go to at half the price for children. You need to rethink this.

The food is always good. The staff are friendly. It's one of our favourite places to eat.

Went for work Christmas party, honestly was a disappointment, food was nice, but service took so long, my friend & I went to dance and the whole table had been cleared including our very expensive drinks 1 large Bacardi & diet Coke & 1 Malibu & Pineapple £17 absolute joke constantly we had had 2 rounds. We definitely won't be returning, the dancefloor is smaller than my lounge. So will be finding another venue for our Xmas party next year

First time visiting but I will return. Food is ok, the starters are far better than the mains so fill your boots on those first! Service is great and staff very friendly, though the happy birthday music every 5 minutes is a bit much. Will deffo go back in the future.

Nice, but not worth the price for me, honestly

Service was lovely very unfortunately food wasn’t as good, starters satay chicken was very slimy and Chewy , Smoky chicken was fishy. Mains duck curry chewy and fatty, I know duck is fatty but it was as if they had used just the skin not the meat. Ribs bland, rice just tasted of Greece, noodles greasy not any flavour at all! Overall it was disgusting! I will not be returning or Recommending it to anyone.

I have been going to Michael's restaurant for over 20 years, and in all that time, I have never had a complaint. The food is quite simply, lovely every single time. It's true price does go up, but so does the cost of living. It true that it is not the nearest restaurant to me, but that just makes it all the more special when we go. Faultless service, and of course Michael himself is nearly always there making sure everyone is happy.

Nice food and waiters service good but they jumped on you when you have finished the starters and mains etc reaching over your shoulders and in-between you whilst you were having a conversation with your party/friends and family, I found this to be very rude but several people of my group mentioned this as well upon leaving the restaurant. Overall food is nice and affordable for an "All You Can Eat experience.

Went with family 19/10/24 big group of 17 . Food wasn’t great every dish tasted gloppy , couldn’t tell difference from fish or chicken , crispy chilli beef nice but that’s it . Doing food on mass was obvious we paid for all inclusive . It was very busy not sure why ! Won’t return

Worst takeaway ever eaten. Also very expensive at £46.20 for such unpleasant food that all was cold. The platter food was very dry and tasted like over fried cardboard. The two sets of ribs were sickly sweet. The duck and hoisin sauce was tasteless. The seaweed had no taste. The chefs should feel ashamed. I am amazed the restaurant is busy ever and I shall never have food from their again. I have been several times now and always been underwhelmed by the food but it's been acceptable when hungry, feeling lazy and have friends over. However last meal too bad to ever return again for fear of wasting yet more money on a meal you wouldn't want to consume ever. Most of it ended up in the dog.

Went for daughters birthday fantastic time had all you can eat menu . Time from ordering to getting your food was super fast. The food was exceptional. Staff are very friendly and polite. Good menu selection. Recommended the Chinese larger. Booked again for Newyears Eve

We wanted somewhere to celebrate our wedding anniversary and also my son and his wife's wedding anniversary. We enjoyed every course, service, plenty of time between courses. Quality of food was excellent, cannot fault anything at all. There were 4 adults and two children under 12, we all left saying we ill be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it a special occasion.

Picked my food up sometime last week and found a wooden hook in my food iv been coming here for a long time but this really put me off and had to put it in the bin

AVOID. Do not recommend. Arrogant beyond belief. So I’m In the area on business. Decided to come to the Springwater. Very poor decision on my part. Advised I couldn’t eat from the buffet menu as I was there solo. MUST be for 2 persons. @£27 per head. That’s a big ask for someone alone & trying to eat a quiet meal solo. Queried that pricing model with the maitre d…. Hold on. It’s a buffet…??? What difference does it really make…. Had I have joined an existing table. I could obviously have paid them £27 and eaten alone. Same food choices for me. Clearly this restaurant are happy enough to lose the food revenue and a few drinks. Glad business is so good that you can turn people away who aren’t in a party of 2 or more. On a Monday evening also!! Bonkers…. The arrogance of that pricing model simply astounds me. Whether the food is good or not, avoid this place as a point of principle. Clearly this restaurant is in it for the money alone. Begs the question what quality the ingredients are, that model being the case. It’s certainly not customer satisfaction or enjoyment… Rant over almost…. Here’s an alternative for you fellow google review viewers. :- Travelled to the Golden Phoenix a just few miles away. Buffet menu £19.99… (might be a Monday deal, I don’t know) Welcomed with open arms despite being 3/4’s full. Very clean, food amazing 🤩. I’d go as far as saying the Dim Sum is on a par with Cathay Pacific’s First Class lounge offering at London Heathrow Terminal 3. I truly hope the management or owners of the Springfield can articulate a suitable justification and apology for turning me away….

Amazing quality food with great service every time.

Great place an all you can eat without the usual pushing and shoving free for all in some.this place is lovely food is brought to you ordered off the menu, and it's excellent. Highly recommended will be back.

First time taking Parents, we will all be back

We have been coming to Springwater for over 20 years. Each of our three children have started in the high chair and enjoyed the culinary fun. During this time we have never had a bad meal. I have read some of the reviews and it irritates me, this place is an absolute gem. We have always been treated as individual guests, like VIPs. This is our little treat three or four times a year. It is an absolute must to visit.

Very busy place, but their service was very quick, and I wasn't waiting long in between each course. It's an all-inclusive, which is £27 ahead. The service was great, and the food was lovely . My wife and I will be going back really enjoyed.

This place is unmatched I’m a massive Cantonese / Chinese food fan and no where around the country even comes close to this place!

Totally Enjoyed our anniversary meal here. From being greeted at the door by a lovely gentleman to all the staff providing a great table service. Such lovely people. We had balloons on the table and was given a lovely complimentary sharing dessert with “ congratulations “ being played in the background. A truly wonderful anniversary meal. Very nice food and attentive service, which are two of the main attractions when eating out. Sadly the atmosphere isn't particularly exciting and doesn't feel authentic.

Excellent service. All waiting staff were super polite and attentive, we were continually asked if we needed anything throughout our stay which was far beyond my expectations and experience of buffet style restaurants. Menu was extensive and had a wide variety of favourites mixed in with dishes I'd never had before. Personally, I thought the portions were massive,particularly the mains - I expected much smaller dishes. Went with my partner and we were seated in an alcove with another couple which was perfect as we were largely shielded from the large parties. Didn't make reservations but that didn't matter, although we did make it just before the rush. Lots of parking available however I noticed the car park was absolutely packed when leaving so would recommend to get there early.

Delicious food and incredibly friendly staff

Initially tried to sell us the most expensive menu. Food portions small between 3 people. Quality of food no where near as good as Chungs. The place was outdated looking & dirty. Rough clientele on my chosen night. Loud & raucous. No sophistication or ambience. Gave wrong bill at end. Get me back to Chungs!

Been going to Spring Waters for many years, the food is the best, staff really friendly and very helpful. There is good parking and plenty of disabled parking. I would highly recommend this place.

Been coming here for years. The food is great never had a bad meal. The only thing now I can fault about this place is the price £27 for the eat as much as you like, and extortionate price of £18 for a six year old.

Overpriced food, some of which was barely edible. Vegetarian options served on the same plate as meat. Most dishes very over seasoned. We asked for a clean plate between starters and were told no. Some of the mains were inedible. Drinks were extortionate. We used to enjoy eating here, but wont be going back. I had toast when I got home as still hungry!

A great selection of delicious food, drinks are a little pricey but other than that I would recommend.

The best Chinese New Year celebrations. It’s a 40 mile drive for us, so we don’t visit too often, however it’s the only place we’d choose for New Year

Takeaway meal. We usually have a lovely takeaway from here but this week it was really quite poor. The spare ribs were over cooked and crunchy rather than the meat falling off. The satay main was watery and the black bean chicken lacked taste. It’s a shame as the meals are usually brilliant

An excellent Chinese new year experience for our family group. The food was tasty, hot, and arrived promptly. Plenty of dishes to choose from and they kept on coming! The dragon dance was impressive, as were the fireworks. A very good family meal with a difference.

We will definitely be going back, the "all you can eat" option is great value, it is not a buffet, as you order what you want and they keep bringing it out until you say stop and move onto something else. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I came last year to chinese New Year and left an excellent review but this year was a little dissapointing. The service wasnt up to the usual standards and the cost of drinks was verging on ridiculous. We had a 5yr old and a 10yr old in our party and they charged £20.50 each! I bet they didnt eat £10 worth of food between them. Springwater alledgedly tried to stop children going to their restaurant last year but that didnt work out well, but this gross overcharging for children is a clever way of getting around that.

Springwater food is absolutely out of this world!! Delicious!! The staff are very friendly and always take their time to make sure everything is to your liking. Very easy to talk to and couldn't do enough for everyone!! I highly recommend anyone to go to this restaurant whenever you get a chance!! Absolutely fantastic time and the Chinese New Year celebration was also great!! I would say this is 1 of my favorite places to eat out!!!

Amazing Experience, we have been going as a family for over 20 years. This restaurant is amazing the food is perfect and the service the best. As an example, if you ask for less spice they will accommodate. If you want chop sticks for kids, they will help. Every member of staff is so good with the kids. We love this restaurant. We went on a Monday, which was no way as busy as weekends, so was pleasant atmosphere. The menu was varied, and if you choose the "all you can eat" you can choose a number of starter and make further choices as many times as you like before going on to the main courses and desserts. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the evening. Would recommend.

I visited for my Birthday at the suggestion of a family member. We were watched over all evening. My 11yo doesn't eat much so we ordered her meal from the A la carte menu. She had never tasted squid before so we let her try a piece from the all you can eat. A waiter came over and said she would now need to pay the all you can eat price because she was eating from it. I told him that she was not, a part from one piece of squid, and he said he would go and check the CCTV! Not a very relaxed atmosphere and over priced. The food is nice but no nicer than our local Chinese restaurants so was not worth the travel and extra cost.

Lovely but the price is just not worth it per person anymore. Minimum ten pound spend at the bar on card is quite the inconvenience when you’re trying to buy a soft drink!

We went when it was very busy, nearly every table was full. We booked ahead (strongly recommend). Service and food was prompt and of good quality, highly recommend going!

Staff were pleasant enough but the food was really quite poor. Which is a shame. They have a dj and dance floor which was the highlight of the time there.

Avoid if you are more than 2 people. It is NOT suitable for groups. This was the first "all you can eat" venue where everyone was still hungry after the meal. We had 14 people (spread over two tables of 7) and the portions given per table was the same as a party of 2. In all we spent over £500 for the amount of food served for 4 people. We ALL (14 people) got charged extra when one person picks the starter as duck (at +£3) even if no-one else has it.
