I had been going there for a couple of years and done was good but recently something has changed, Maybe the chef ? Not good now

A great old skool style Chinese Takeaway! Tasty food and good service. Note that only take cash.

Not a bad little Chinese - I had the shredded crispy beef and my only gripe was that there could have been more sauce.

Visited a few times recently but didn’t get as far as ordering because they say cash only no card transactions well move with the times joy king house people don’t carry cash or is it the fact you don’t declare takings ?????

The food was extremely delicious, fairly priced, and was ready quickly even on new year’s eve. Will be having again!

Food took over a hour and half when being told 45 mins and your food is on the way and when it did arrive it was over cooked and dry , this is the second bad experience we have had from them but gave them the benefit of the doubt to try again , you will be disappointed

We dont normally go here but thought worth a punt. Food tasty and hot and arrived quick , only thng I did not enoy was the garlic ribs as they was covered in batter. all in all good

I went in on the off chance the food had improved but again I was very disappointed. Had a special curry that was mostly just a very runny tasteless sauce. I will not be venturing in there again.

Been using them for over 30 years, but the last few times the quality of food has really gone down. They also tried to deliver our food some where else by the time we got it was cold. Still charged full and no sorry

Ordered 4 times in Last 2 weeks. Chrispy duck. Awsome. Cucumber and onion that came with it were still crunchy and freshly cut. Bbq pork ribs really soft. Sauce from it good as dip. Found a New favourite chinese.

Food came earlier then said very hot and very delicious 😋

Now under new ownership with front of shop service being very friendly and welcoming. The food is top notch, well priced and so tasty. Go on give it a try you wont be dissapointed.

They must have changed ownership, because all the times we went before the food was great, the last couple of times it was just horrendous.

Often use Joy King for takeaways and the quality is always good. The food is fresh and prepared with care and there's always plenty of it

Good foods, the best Chinese in carlton.

We've tried a lot of Chinese take-aways in the Mapperley - Carlton area but have now firmly established that Joy King is our preferred option. We have found that, overall, their food (especially soups and rice) just seems to have an added extra depth of flavour compared to most other places, which we think is down to their recipes and cooking technique. Plus they deliver food very speedily in our experience.

Lovely Chinese food. The best in the area by far! I recommend the JoyKing Special rice and Singapore chow mein.

This was the worst food I have ever tasted even the bin spat it out .we couldn't eat our overpriced takeaway it was that salty how this place is still open I don't know.

As above, delivery driver was friendly and smiled which is rare at times with takeaways. Food was exactly as we ordered and had delivery included, same as free prawn crackers. Hot, fresh and lovely. Recommend if fancy a Chinese and don't want to go far

Great food,great delivery and always have a good delivery time.we never use any other takeaway.I would say it's the most popular takeaway in the area.
