Local, food was ok and friendly staff.

The staff were very friendly and provided good customer service when giving information. We are given a choice to choose our sitting area due to booking and gave relevant information when we changed their preference of sitting. I really enjoyed my jasmine tea served before the meal.

I ordered the roasted duck, expecting roasted dish, but what I received was far from it. The duck tasted as if it had been boiled and was undercooked, lacking any of the crispy, flavourful skin and meat that one would expect from a roasted duck. To make matters worse, my curry resembled yellow-colored water rather than a curry dish. The taste was horrible. Overall, this experience has certainly deterred me from ever ordering from there again. It's a shame, as I had high hopes, but I left feeling unsatisfied and regretting my choice.

We took my Daughter here for her 18th Birthday today and from start to finish it was amazing! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic weve never tasted Chinese food as good as this, lots of selection. My son was extremely happy at the selection of sushi 🤣 staff were amazing with my Autistic son and made him feel comfortable whilst we were there. We will definitely be returning more than once.

Decent place, the food was a 7 out of 10 based on my experience. The dinning area is pretty shabby, the buffet area is newer and in much better condition. For an all you can eat I would say it's better than many I've experienced in the past.

I hate to write a bad review as the staff were so nice, but the food was not good. It tasted old and chewy and I bit into an oyster shell that was mixed in with the chicken, not a great experience as I very much dislike seafood.

Lovely place to be. The food are cheap and nice. You can pay for takeaway if you want. Enough food to eat.

Greeted on arrival. Lovely, warm, clean resturant. Was seated within a few minutes. Drinks order taken then went to the buffet. All food labelled to correct dishes, very hot and fresh, plenty of selection to chooses from. Desserts available, again all fresh and beautiffy presented. Will be going again very soon!

I took my wife here for her birthday meal. The food was very good and we enjoyed it very much. Service was quick, although the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. We had the buffet, and there is a large variety of starters, main courses and deserts. The restaurant is also child friendly and we took our 2 month old daughter along wit us. All in all the meal was great.

We went here for my Brothers 60th birthday party unfortunately has we was seated an elderly gentleman became very unwell and myself and sister and the staff at the restaurant was able to get him to the floor and I was able to provide emergency care to him I work for the hospital and know how to care for sick patients but this was an ordeal for all involved the staff at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic I can not thank them enough for their help after nearly 2 hours of waiting for an ambulance the gentleman was taken to hospital I do hope he gets well soon and we wish him a speedy recovery although I did not get the chance to eat at this restaurant they did give me and my partner a gift card and a free drink which was much appreciated my family did state how good the food was thank you Golden phoenix for you help and support on the Day x x

Friendly staff, unfortunately the food was cold and vegis had too much salt. Kids also shouldn't pay like adults because of their height. I think its a goid idea to verify their age instead.

I do take away every weekend (8£) food is always fresh and tasty, best chinese in the area

Absolutely brilliant! Food is delicios, there is a huge number of dishes to choose from. Their fish choice is my favourite. The staff are lovely. Great prices. We adore this place

If you want to have food poisoning or no food allergies knowledge because of language barrier and ending in ED you should go in that restaurant . Unfortunately after 5 years we was regular customers in the restaurant we visited today and with the first plate we had we realise that something was different we been told that the management changed and after raise a concern that we been served beef that was crossed contaminated the new management just apologise and they said that after all these years we are customers this is happened one time 😱 They didn’t offered us a discount or anything else apart of an apology . We paid our bill and when we attempted to speak with the chef and explain that the way he is cooking can put at risk the customers with broken English he said he don’t understand what we want 👎👎👎 You just lost 2 good customers and of course this is will be report Monday morning in the local authorities.

Very good food, the best buffet style restaurant I have been to. Wide selection of food even for picky eaters.

Walked in for dinner with my 10 year old. I was told she would be charged the adult price (£21 instead of £10) because she is over 140cm. No signs up about this, no mention on the price list posted outside. When I rejected this, I was then offered an alternative price so it clearly was make it up as you go along. My child will not eat an adult sized meal, so we will never eat here again.

Regrettably, the sole positive aspect was that I was able to avoid dining in. I placed an order for takeout from this establishment with the intention of collecting it. However, it turned out to be a regrettable financial decision. The level of saltiness in the food was excessive. It might be acceptable if one were consuming beer to enhance their drinking experience, but that was not my intention. Naturally, I intended to take the food away. My residence is situated less than two minutes away by car. I am at a loss to explain how my food arrived in a cold state. Nevertheless, that was the case. It is particularly unfortunate given the fact that this establishment had been highly recommended. I will refrain from dining here in the future. However, I kindly request that you do not allow my evaluation to dissuade you from patronizing this establishment. It is important to recognize that my perspective is merely an opinion, and your preferences may differ significantly from mine.

I’ve been to a lot of these type of buffets, and golden phoenix food is just average compared to the competition, they don’t do anything great or too bad. They don’t seem to have as much choice as the others and their fresh fruit selection is quite poor. However staff are friendly and building looks nice and there are far worse restaurants out there. So if you really want to go and try it out, my advice go around 6pm, when all the food is still fresh and tasty! 😋 Bon appetite! Upgraded to 4 stars, because visited a couple of months ago and food was very fresh and tasty.

Customer service is terrible. Been for food with my autistic daughter. Explained that she wouldn't eat as she doesn't like change. But she likes to come along. Was charged a full adult price even though she is only 10. But was told she was over the hight of a 10 year old. Not sure at what point your age goes on your hight. So was charged a adult price for her to sit with us. Will not be returning.

A very good place for buffet food service. Plenty of staff there to help if you needed it. Clean and tidy. The day I visited was a Saturday it was very busy, but the size of the venue still made it feel like you had your space. Would recommend a visit, they take away food.

Excellent food and excellent service. Staff are very friendly and pleasant, I noticed there wasn't any Cabbage in garlic sauce available, I absolutely love cabbage in garlic sauce. I asked about it and was told to wait 5 minutes and some would be brought to my table. I was not disappointed! 5 minutes later I received a plate full of cabbage in garlic sauce 🤣🥰🤤. Always order for collection but this time was not nice at all . The Garlic ribs came with chopped white onion which lookd uncooked and the tasted horrible without the garlic and chilli . Decided to go for lunch the day before farthers day, it was my first experience but my Mrs and the girls had been before on a Sunday. It is a clean, well laid out venue and the staff are friendly enough. There is a service provided where the staff bring your drinks to your table. The buffet provides a nice array of different options to try along with tasty desserts too. I will deffinately be going back in the near future.

1st ever visit and it was a good experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The was a good variety of food which was fresh and hot. The tables were not squashed close together so you didn't feel impeded on by the next table. There was room to move. Plus we had a highchair for the little one and it didn't get in anyone's way. Deffo go there again.

I would say very average overall. Had a delightful time and the staff are very friendly. Food was tasty even if not as fresh when we arrived at 8, some dishes were no longer being topped up which was a shame. Overall 3.5 :)

I  came to this restaurant tonight and saw an interesting thing happened. Someone eating at the buffet and tried to steal the food in their own box. They argued with the manager. I enjoy delicious food also have an this funny experience.

This is terrible My mum paid extra for take away cash only then another employee was telling the my mum off and it started a scene so then basically my mum was standing up for her rights then they wanted to call the police so my mum was like “call the police I’m not bothered they won’t arrest me for something petty” Then they called the police and the police thought it was petty then they didn’t come. before that whilst my mum was being reasonable The manager sneaked to someone who was with my mum who was far away the manager was like was “YoU NEEd To PaY £98 POUnDs “ then it was so scary I started crying and I’m nine good job you made a kid cry😊. Lovely restaurant and lots of choice of food, plenty of starters, mains and desserts. The food is great, nice flavours and hot. The staff are lovely, very friendly and don't rush you at all. This is the second time I've been and it won't be the last. Highly recommend this restaurant. The restaurant was full tonight and we hadn't booked but the staff still found us a table. Food was cold, dry and tasteless, definitely had better for £40. Only good thing was they gave us 10% off for paying with cash!

The food was nice and I had an enjoyable experience. I was disappointed to find my 9 year old daughter was charged adult pricing - if this was pointed out to me when we sat down I probably wouldn't have stayed. She ate two plates of rice and crispy seaweed.

The golden phoenix is one of the best Chinese takeaways in Nottingham, I always order from here every Friday with my family and they also offer a takeaway box which you can pick out what you want from the buffet and put it into your own box. The food is always fresh and the service is always fast and kind. Highly recommend

Wide range of tempting East Asian foods to choose from, including meat dishes, fish dishes, vegetarian dishes, and sides and sauces. So much so, in fact, that it's difficult to know when to stop! At a set price of £21 you can just keep returning for more! The dishes I selected were all excellent, though one or two were warm and not hot. Overall, though the experience was well the money plus more!

The selection of dishes was better than I have experienced before at other restaurants & the quality of the food was amazing. The restaurant is well furnished, substantial in size and very clean. Food was OK, desert is a joke, you watch the staff literally tipping out cheese cake from a wholesale box onto a plate..no presentation at all..just a heap. staff were mostly OK.. atmosphere?, well its a pub trying to be a Chinese restaurant. £20.99 per head for all you can eat. If you eat a lot of Chinese food, it's for you, if your happy with a normal portion, it's not worth it. Pint of coke is £3.60 so the drivers and kids get stung a bit.

I have Had to edit my original review as we have since visited 3 times and is now by far our favourite Chinese restaurant. Changing from 4star to 5+star ALL the food is just amazing and it's so affordable we don't have to go for special occasions and just go spontaneously it's amazing 😍🤤 Good value for money and a good selection of food (which all tasted lovely) nice friendly staff, Wasn't too busy as we visited on Friday lunch which was actually quite nice as there were no ques at the buffet. Will definitely be going again and again and again 🤣😊

The restaurant is decorated beautifully, merging authentic Chinese and British architecture with traditional Chinese music playing into the background. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For the price, the all you can eat buffet was a very good deal, the food was tasty and they had a wide range of options to suit all tastes. Will definitely be back again soon!

Came here with a big group of people and i am not usually a big eater at all, i can’t even finish one plate of food i get too full. THIS PLACE i ate 5 full plates including the desserts (which are amazing)!! There’s just so much option even for a vegetarian like me. I was worried to go because i wasn’t sure i’ll find enough food without meat in it but the option went above and beyond from already cooked meals ready to be enjoyed to pieces you can mix and match and make into a sort of wrap using the thin “pancakes” or literally anything to your liking, there’s also sushi, lots of actually fresh juicy sweet fruits, the desserts exceeded any expectations i specifically recommend the banana balls coated in sugar, it’s worth going there just to try those glassy sweets in my opinion, along with a bunch of ice cream options and so much more. Lovely staff our empty plates were taken as soon as they were empty, anything we needed they were lovely.
