Lovely place... we had a cream tea but, although we asked for fruit scones we were given blackberry ones.. tried to change them to be told that all they had was plain... why offer what you don't have?... otherwise wonderful

A lovely way to spend time with friends. Delicious, freshly made sandwiches, cakes and desserts. Drink top-ups and extra sandwiches to share.Dietary requirements also catered for.

Afternoon tea in the sunshine with your bestie what more could you want ! Beautifully presented sandwiches with lovely fresh fillings hot sausage rolls and cheese and tomatoe rolls cheese scones with a lovely filling and cakes to die for along with lovely toast scones clotted cream and jam - perfect !!!

Situated in a beautiful spot on The Chase. We sat in one of the huts outside which was a novelty for my friend and was lovely to do something different when dining. Staff were lovely, friendly and well mannered as well as being helpful. The food was gorgeous and I would highly recommend a visit.

Very nice little cafe our first visit and it won't be our last. The food was cooked very well and there was plenty. The cafe was spotless and the staff were really nice very welcoming. We will highly recommend it to friends and family and we are already planning our next visit. Went back again for another visit and had a breakfast sandwich which was well cooked and really enjoyable.

Came for a ladies family afternoon tea - 4 generations. And what a delight it was! Lovely finger sandwiches (the ham was particularly delicious), sweet and savoury scones, sausage rolls and savoury pastries still warm, and home made cakes and biscuits! Plenty of food for us all. Would definitely recommend this place - and will be back to sample the lunch menu!

It's a lovely place to get great food, every time. The staff are friendly, very helpful. On a warm day, it's a cool place to sit outside in the shade with the sound of birds and buzzing insects. Like a proper British summer outdoor eating experience but with a bonus of a cooked brunch and coffee.

There is no allergy book available. When we advised that one of the children in our group was allergic to eggs, dairy, and nuts, we were offered an omelette as 'that's gluten free'. Totally clueless about allergies, which is pretty worrying. Organisation and communication at the food window left a little to be desired. Food was not bad, but the baffling attitude towards allergies and poor organisation spoiled this for us.

Excellent food and staff, recommend.

Difficult to say weather can be unpredictable and always difficult to sit inside with our little dog with health conditions. Food is okay and hot drinks get very cold quickly.

We have stopped for lunch many times and always eat outside within one of the huts. It's wonderful to sit in peace and watch the birds come and visit looking for scraps. Most recently, we booked an afternoon tea, vegetarian on this occasion, and were more than satisfied by the presentation, the choice of sandwiches, savoury and sweet treats, and of course the welcoming service... all in one of the huts. It's such a special place made moreso by the choice of food and the staff. Long may we continue to visit.

We’d forgotten what a wonderful gem of a place this is!! Our family met for lunch today and the food was delicious and spot on! Very friendly staff and lovely clean toilets. We’ll definitely be back again soon for more! Thanks Kaye and team!!

Would not recommend. Expensive and well over priced, food was mediocre at best! The management were rude and uninterested when a complaint was made about service time and cold coffee. Won’t be returning!

The service and food were excellent, very friendly service and they went the extra mile to completely satisfy the customers. Not our first time there and it certainly won't be the last. Highly recommend, a very busy place indeed booking would be advisable for a special occasion. Also pet friendly with outdoor tables and indoor shed seating.

While visiting the nearby Katyn memorial on Cannock chase we called in for coffee and a snack. Well staffed and efficiently run this place was a gem in the woods and we would recommend a visit.

Lovely place to combine a walk and a cup of tea

We visited for an afternoon tea with 4 adults and two 2 year olds. The table was laid beautifully with a lovely china set. The lady who served us couldn't do enough for us, she checked in a few times to see if we needed anything, the service was quick even though they were very busy. The food was delicious with sweet and savoury and they went to the effort of making a mini afternoon tea for the two little ones which they absolutely loved. Thank you so much for such a lovely afternoon. We will definitely be returning.

We booked an afternoon tea for four people and two two year olds in the tea room. Despite it being busy the service was top notch. It was excellent. Beautiful China, beautifully laid table and to our surprise an individual afternoon tea just for the children. The food was delicious with a mix of sweet and savoury. Sausage rolls and pastries were home made and still warm. Highly recommend

Waited 25 minutes for two sandwiches. Started querying after the next table who had ordered after us had their order. Was told that the order ticket had fallen on the floor and would be with us after a couple of minutes. Were given 2 scones as a gesture 😅 for waiting so long. It did arrive after a few minutes but one of the sandwiches had the wrong filling! 😡 We walked out. Always enjoyed the experience when we've been there before but won't be going back now!

Lovely cafe on Cannock Chase. Garden is great in the spring and summer. If it's cooler there is a small tearoom and there are huts with tables, if you want a mixed experience. Food and drinks are good and are excellent value. Friendly staff.

Gone downhill. Went for breakfast today. By the time it was cooked we had finished our drinks. And the food was less than luke warm. The sausages were poor quality and the price for the full breakfast seem overpriced given you had to pay for extra items normally included else where. Dogs aren't allowed in so we sat in a hut outside which was freezing. Won't be returning.

I have spent hours and hours on Cannock Chase, walking, biking and riding...and all from a baby. Why then, have I never been here before????!!!!!!!!! The staff are amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. Well cooked, well presented, tasty and good portion size. The location is amazing. Eating area and toilets spotlessly clean. Nothing more to say other than make sure you go!

Shame cause its a lovely little place and used to be able to get a great bacon sandwich here. Unfortunately visited the other day and this is what £4.75 got me (top pieces of bread taken off so you can see what was inside) bread was a bit stale too :(

What a nice surprise this little place is. Went for a dog walk with some friends and stopped for some lunch after. There’s a lovely area for camping (think we will try it in the summer and see how the kids get on) and the cafe is great. Outdoor seating is available even on wet days thanks to the dog friendly “huts”. The food is lovely and well priced. Menu is very good and sourced locally.

Staff always so lovely and helpful and welcoming, food lovely, good value and a gorgeous setting. Definitely worth stopping in and having a walk on the chase!

Great little cafe on the chase ,very clean and welcoming staff with little huts so you can get out of the rain with our furry friends and enjoy a hot drink (milk aternatives oat and soya) and a light bite to eat. Reasonably priced .small car park but easily reached from other car parks nearby

Always a great place to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat when out walking or cycling.

What a little gem to have breakfast, proper food served by a kind lady. Its a lovely place to go after a walk, prices are competitive, breakfast just the right size to fill you without putting you in a food stupor. It was very noisy last Sunday (we couldn't talk) a table of 6 inconsiderate diners. I think putting them in the middle of the room was a mistake but its never happened before, however there are private free to use huts outside, so I think I would asked to be moved if faced with the same situation. Don't let that put you off, its normally quiet :)

I visited this cafe today after a lovely walk. Unfortunately the experience was not good. Granted it was very busy but over half an hour wait for two hot chocolates with oat milk (lactose intolerance) is unacceptable. There were plenty of staff working but they seemed to be fulfilling each order in sequence whether you had ordered several full meals or just a couple of drinks. Surely a better system would be to have one person solely doing drinks? There were three young girls as well as three adults but it seemed chaotic. There is an outdoor serving hatch where you order then you stand and wait for drinks or are given a buzzer for food. I would have cut my losses and left had I not paid £8.50 for the drinks including 50p extra each for the oat milk. Looking at the menu - I had plenty of time whilst standing in the designatex spot - the prices seemed steep. When I questioned where my drinks were after a man who had ordered after me got his I was snapped at by the young girl who said something about having to wait for the machine because of oat milk. I know she was under pressure but perhaps an explanation to that effect or a word to say there might be a wait would stop people getting frustrated. To be left hanging for half an hour is not acceptable. I have used this cafe many times but I am afraid the service has gone downhill as the prices have gone up. I will think twice about visiting again.

Food is fantastic and a real bonus while stopping during a long drive that it is dog friendly and close to so many walks. Service could have been better though as it was a bit slow, having to stand in a long queue to take your order

After our walk in the forest stopped off for food. Oh my, the size of the meals! I had a toasted sandwich, my other half had a jacket potato. Now he can eat, but it tested him....of course he finished it. It was too delicious to leave. Would highly recommend.

Great place for food and drink after spending time on Cannock Chase

Had a scone, one square of butter and jam. Scone was dry so maybe several days old. Could have done with more butter and cream. Had rocky road a few days before and i thought it was awful

Campsite Review. Set within the rural location of Cannock Chase, the campsite is set back from the main road and a little way down from tea room itself, which makes it’s feel like you out in the wilderness. Whilst we setup, we were treated to a surprise visit from a buck with his impressive antlers ! If caravanning you will need levellers as the site is sloping, with some grass pitches set into hillside but with great commending spots! Facilities were basic, well maintained but were not regularly inspected during our visit, as we did have to go in search of toilet roll, however the staff at the tearoom were straight onto it when we asked, and our only other concern was the grating up to and around the toilet, which can be slippery in the wet. The tea room is a popular attraction and well worth a visit, we popped up for a cuppa and cakes which were throughly enjoyed by all!

Cream tea is delicious, lovely place !

We were a little disappointed 😞 sorry to say as we love it there but we found it a bit on the expensive side as we paid £25 per night with no electricity. We were camping for 2 nights so that's £50 !!! . When we came to wash our cooking items we realised there are no washing up facilities. There was another family on the site with a dog that was not kept on a lead and he did approach our camping area and in the morning we woke up to dog poo all outside our seating area not impressed as it states clearly that dogs should be kept on their leads at all times . Also the grass hadn't been cut so there were lots of flowers in the grass which of course brings along bees which is great and yes I know we are camping but when it's hot and you have open toe shoes on its not good 😐 we have been to other camp sites in the area cheaper with better facilities and better kept camping areas . Just expensive and basic sorry to say .

Idyllic setting, feels so peaceful, sat listening to the cuckoo in the sunshine with the wind in the trees. The manager Lucy was very friendly and efficient. Only shame was the tea rooms don't open Fridays, otherwise we would have had a cooked breakfast to wake up to! Good value, offer electric hook up. Clean facilities. Can fault it.

We were walking in Cannock and Springslade Lodge was a halfway point. What a super place. Well organised and clean (providing people read the signs!) By luck I chose and devoured the most delicious omelette I think I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable too. Such a shame I don't live closer but I would highly recommend a visit.

Only popped in for afternoon tea and scone after walking. Really nice and friendly. Looks like it would be a good place to pitch tent for the night.

We've past it for many years and decided to check it out. We both had the omelettes, lovely. It is pricey but we will go again. I hope Micks wife liked the custard...He recommends the steak pie....I'll try it next time.

Nice coffee and cake. Cooked breakfasts looked lovely. Gets busy at times but worth the wait in their garden.

My daughter had a pizza making party at Springslade Lodge on Saturday for her 8th Birthday and I can honestly say the whole experience was fabulous. We had the cafe to ourselves during the party and my daughter and her friends were all given aprons to wear and were taught by Kaye to make pizza dough and then topped their own pizza's. My daughter and 2 other guests are Severely sight impaired/blind and Kaye and her team were excellent at ensuring the party was inclusive for them all, taking extra time to explain things and allowing the girls chances to smell and feel all of the ingredients, and helping with any tasks they found difficult. Whilst the pizza's were cooking it was time to decorate fairy cakes and biscuits which were served as pudding after their pizza and chips with 1 to eat and 1 to take home for later. The party lasted 1hour 45mins and the girls were all kept busy for the whole time. We have had lots of great feedback from all of her friends who attended saying what a great time they all had, and they loved making their own pizza. Thank you to Kaye and your team for really going the extra mile to ensure my daughter and her friends enjoyed the party. Communication before the party was also great with quick replies to any of my queries. I would highly recommend Springslade Lodge parties and I am sure we will be back again for more parties in the future, not to mention for a tasty snack one time too! A lovely venue, Thank you!

It was lovely, nice friendly staff, lovely to have an oasis in the middle of Cannock Chase while out walking. Great to be with you again WILL be back with our dog. Quite a variety of food to choose, good basic food, something for everyone Excellent

First time for some years, out on a walk stopped for tea and cake midday. The place was busy which is great news good selection of well priced food, it's a lot bigger than I remember but is been 12+years

Had cream tea 🍵 😋 Was a very nice warmed scone, quality jam and cream. I opted for a cappuccino instead of tea. Which I think is a nice touch choose your choice of drink. Quality products 👌 friendly staff clean toilets 🚻 also. Will be coming back soon. Thanks .

I had sausage and bacon sandwich and my wife had jacket potato beans and salad. All good quality, well cooked and served quickly. We will be back again.

A nice stop off location on our walk around Cannock Chase. The sheds outside are a great idea and a lovely place to shelter out of the elements. The service from the friendly staff was great and they had a handy remote buzzer system to let you know when your hot food is ready.

Super place to escape to. Good food, fire and hearth.
