Coffee out of a machine, so no alternative for dairy free options. Would have thought a place this size could at least make real coffee. The stuff out of the machine was awful. Very disappointing

We love calling here whenever we're in the area but the food is getting worse.Today we ordered a tuna sandwich that came with chips, cold chips and the thinnest bread for sandwich that the sloppy filling fell out as bread was so cheap and nasty.Get some decent sandwich bread instead of some "smartprice" rubbish, worst sandwich I've ever had.Partner had a full Cooked breakfast and I've never known him leave food before, but even he couldn't stomach the boiled slimy bacon, white sausages that had a small brown cooked line, and pretty much naff ingredients for the rest of it.Why are you putting a fried breakfast in the oven to steam in trays, because this fried breakfast has never seen a pan, lazy cooking for the masses,oh there was about half a dozen folk eating at the time. Not worth the money anymore, shame it used to be pretty decent. For some reason your "sister" garden centre at Gilberdyke is miles ahead if you want a decent meal from same menu.

Had carvery, couldn't have most of the veg or any of the potatoes... already knew I would miss out on Yorkshire pudding. Apparently the carrots are cooked in butter as well as the roast potatoes! I had 2 slices beef, green beans and swede with gravy rubbish value for money! Felt I had to apologise for asking although I had actually asked at start of the carvery. My daughter also had battered Quorn and chips, I had to ask for the salad and BBQ sauce to be brought to the table as they had forgotten all that! Rubbish service and rubbish value for money

Haddenham garden centre. Big dog and pet accessory department. Well stocked. Have used this garden centre many times with #rockylongdog as they are dog friendly as advertised on their website, or so I thought. Had gone to purchase a harness so needed to take #rockylongdog in for size. “Sorry, no dogs allowed”. I asked why as it’s advertised on your website that you are dog friendly. “We have had problems”. Was the response. Have a look on Insta and you will see #rockylongdog. Disappointed as had my mum with me who suffers from Alzheimer’s and she could not grasp why we could not go in. Anyhow, went to Dobbies Wendover and no problems. Great pet section and #rockylongdog was sorted out.

The Carvery was very nicely cooked what we had. This is our second visit and both times was the same, the staff was filling up as fast as they could when they had the food to fill, the lady serving the meat had to keep going and collecting things herself which should not happen, there was no chicken or pork ready, someone from the kitchen came and took most of the potatoes so there was none left for people waiting. Also when we finally sat down someone had sat next to us with a dog this should not be allowed. We will not be visiting again.

Visited this cafe whilst taking our 2 young children to the Christmas display. We bought an adults carvery as well as another adult meal and a children’s meal. Our 1 year old doesn’t eat much and has a bit of a cold, so eating even less than usual, and so would no way have eaten a kids meal so we decided, as we’ve done MANY times before to ask for a side plate so as he could just have a little bit of ours. Never in my life have I known an eating establishment refuse this request until today! I was told rather abruptly that it was against company policy to do so, even after explaining the situation. We had spent well over £20 in the cafe, as well as more in the centre itself, I really didn’t think this should be a problem. In addition the baby changing facilities were disgusting, dirty nappies piled on top of an overflowing bin! It wasn’t particularly busy (Wednesday morning) so this obviously hadn’t been attended to that day. I will not return here with my children again, I will go somewhere they are more willing to assist with babies. Really disappointed!

Now open at Ramsgate having taken over Wyevale, but no TripAdvisor page yet? Firstly, don't arrive between 11am and 11.30am expecting hot (or tepid) food. Breakfast orders finish at 11am, lunch orders don't start until 11.30am.. no, you can order but they won't start cooking it until 11.30am. I ordered the gammon at 11.15am but had most definitely finished my coffee by the time my food arrived at 11.50am! The food was average. It was warm, not hot, a complaint seen elsewhere amongst these reviews. I was most disconcerted to see various store, garden and what appeared to be maintenance staff wandering in and out of the kitchen. Some went in and left with plates of hot (?) food that they took across the shop floor (to a staff room?), before my food was ready. Tool belts and dirty boots. I wonder what their health and safety, infection control procedures are?

British Garden Centers had recently bought out Wyevale and it’s great to see everything has been reduced 30% from Wyevale pricing that was ridiculously overpriced. But please, why did you keep the staff from Wyevale? Rude, grumpy and look at you as if you are a transient riddled with the Black Death. They look at you as if you are planning to rob the safe totally unaware of the fact that most people who visit there earn more in a week than they earn in a month. No manners, no please or thank you. Amazon or Next could offer some serious staff training.

We often pop in here as we live near by. Huge selection of delicious cakes, you’re spoilt for choice. Lovely tuna mayo sandwich platter with chips and one of the best coleslaw I have ever had. Our favourite part of visiting the restaurant is watching the carvery diners, I have never seen people trying to pile so much on a plate since trying an all inclusive holiday, how they manage to even carry such a laden plate let alone eat all of it is beyond me. I have been visiting the garden centre for many years and usually have something to eat in the restaurant. The food is usually ok, nothing special but ok. Today I made the mistake of ordering scrambled eggs on toast. It was dreadful. The eggs were a grey colour, luke warm and felt and tasted like rubber. How the kitchen could have sent this dish out to a customer is beyond belief. I gave up after the first mouthful. The waitress who I spoke to was really good and quickly agreed it looked dreadful. She quickly offered a replacement which I declined and had no hesitation in offering a refund. This is a great garden centre and I visit often. In future will just stick to a coffee and decline the scrambled eggs. So disappointing.

My wife had a bottle of water £ 1.85 and just out of the restaurant similar water was only 89 pence per bottle (Captive diners??) staff friendly and helpful, ordered and paid at 12.15 p.m. Nearly 40 minutes later the food arrived at our table, again friendly staff, BUT ! the side salad was rather wilted, the "cheese and red onion" panini had the smallest amount of cheese and very few red onions. We often visit for Sunday lunch, however on the last 2 occasions we have been very disappointed with the portions. You are given 2 slices of meat, and charged £8:95 regardless of the meat, yet the slices of turkey are far smaller than the beef so those of us having turkey felt a little short changed. This happened last time we visited, so when the same happened again today we decided to mention this to the lady on the carvery. In her words “I just carve the meats I don’t make the rules” so when I mentioned that perhaps we should raise it with management her response was something along the lines of “yes, along with everyone else in here”. It’s a shame really as the food is good, but why should we pay the same for 2 scratty bits of turkey as we pay for 2 lovely big slices of beef? In all honesty, had the attitude of the person serving been a little more interested or understanding then we may not have written this review, but as they clearly aren’t bothered how we felt then we feel this should be shared.

You do have to queue for the carvery, and it feels a bit like a school dinner queue, but it’s worth the wait. The food is good. A server will slice the turkey, beef or gammon then you can pile on the mash, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, parsnips, stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddings, gravy, sauces etc etc. You really can’t argue with the price either. Extremely well-stocked with all things Christmas but as we only wanted a cup of coffee and a scone we were very disappointed.I paid £2.50 for a large cappuccino which had no taste other than dried milk powder. It was lukewarm and beneath the white froth was a brown liquid bearing no resemblance whatsoever to coffee. The scone was fresh.

We travel from York every year to see a fantastic Xmas display in huge halls, probably largest in Britain. The array of all things Xmas, trees, gifts, decorations are second to none. Excellent food in the restaurant. Well worth a visit !

Having visited this place some 10 or more years ago this was a big surprise to see how big it has grown. I found it a Christmas wonderland, so many things to see. There is the traditional garden stuff and pet items. Household items plus the Christmas sections. We visited the restaurant and had the carvery, I was impressed with the quality of the meat and vegetables. Lots of different seating areas and yes it can get noisy when more people arrive. Will definitely be back.

Just been and saw the most amazing Christmas display for years. If you've not been recently then you NEED TO!! as well as that, the scones with clotted cream and coffee is a must. You'll finish your Xmas shopping, I bet! Go early to get a car parking place, yes, it's that popular. Also the most comprehensive garden centre too. Go and see for your self. Well go again before Christmas just to see the decorations.

Came here to look around the garden centre and as it was lunch time decided to try the restaurant. Found a table easily, checked out the menu and also realised they did a carvery which appealed. Ordered at the counter then moved across to the carvery and was served straight away. Plenty of meat given or indeed pie of the day which was also available. Help yourself to veg etc. Job done. All tasty and hot. Grandkids had picnic box inc gluten free sandwich.2nd visit just as good. I had a salad which came with a massive wedge of cheese..probably a little too much.Half the size would be adequate if something else was added to replace it.Overall a very good experience. If visiting at this time of year check out the Christmas display.. one of the largest I've seen.

This was a great place but it is has turned into an expensive nightmare. The cafe is now so big it has extended from the original seating area into the shop area and now even further. I think the table count in now in excess of 100. It gets so noisy and attracts so many I'll behaved children running around with parents no where in sight. The main course of food is good if a little pricey but the deserts are astronomically priced. It's no longer a garden centre but an expensive shopping and eating destination.

On Saturday 4th November, I brought my three year old niece to see the “Christmas world” and in turn popped in for a slice of cake & a drink. The young gentleman serving was very friendly and was great with my niece who is very talkative! We had the chocolate truffle cake as there was no chocolate fudge left, very moist and lots of flavour! Nothing was too much bother, even when I couldn’t find the cutlery. Sadly we didn’t try the main menu but I’ll be back! Thank you once again for the wonderful service!

What a great place to visit especially near Christmas. The kids love it and can’t wait for Santa to arrive. The displays are very good. Took loads of photos and finished off with lunch in the restaurant.

Visited mainly to see the Christmas section but feeling hungry we decided to eat. Two of us had the Carvery whilst the younger ones had something from the snack menu. After finally working out the really complicated way you get you food which includes two queues, finding a table and paying separately the food wasn't bad. The Carvery was good value with extra items you don't normally get like pigs in blankets , parsnips and stuffing.Worth the effort to give it a try.

Often visit here for a carvery which is rather expensive but very good quality food especially the meat. There is some confusion where to que surely it would be more sensible to have one main area for carveries only, rather than wait in que for people ordering a cake or coffee. With reference to the carvery is it really necessary to have gravy boats after all this is a garden centre not the savoy also you can go back as many times as you like to get more gravy. The other day when we visited we were held up by the people in front as there were no gravy boats.

This garden centre gets more like a shopping centre every visit. It is certainly somewhere to browse for that different gift The actual plant section is more specialised and also fairly pricey. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise with a very good carvery offering a choice of meats and or pie and loads of vegetables. Very nice.

I have been going to This garden center for years it was a lovely place to wander around buy something a little different a nice plant have a coffee then it was sold and what a change . It is now massive and not an improvement, the prices are ridiculous for the plants but my complaint is about the cafe, I popped in for a coffee and some toast or the equivalent, the rows of get in line things are a little confusing as the few people in line seemed to be bypassing them and just going to the till, a young woman shouted " who's next" I asked if they did toasted tea cakes , yes, I ordered a t tea cake and a cappuccino , then I enquired what came with the t cake , butter! Ok il have a jam, doesn't come with jam ! That's fine il have a jam , do you want a jam? Yes ,well its extra , now I'm aware of this I have eaten here before but the menu has changed and I hadn't been in for a while . Also she wouldn't serve me till I got a table number I know this is common practice in many places , but her attitude was terrible rude unsmiling so I cancelled my order, I told her forget it , she looked quite shocked, I also told her the reason why, her rude attitude. I have made a complaint to the manager and I will never shop in there again . This place was lovely at one time, the staff were lovely but now it's just a massive overpriced place . The staff look miserable and I wonder why . The manager was polite and apologised I believe he was called Rob . What a shame siggi lost its lovely garden Center

First time in this restaurant, there were two ques one was for the carvery which although looked very nice we did not want. We waited our turn in the second que slowly making it to the front to be asked or the table number we didn't have a table at this point I asked what sandwiches they had to order and was told the menus where on the tables!! My husband quickly got a table number and a menu we ordered in a rush, what we did get was very nice "quiche with salad and coleslaw" I thought the quiche was on the small size. My husband enjoyed a very nice ham sandwich. It was very very busy across lunchtime on a weekday when we visited the staff were friendly and helpful after a 20 minute wait I asked a member of staff if our food was nearly ready she went to check and brought it back to our table. We were not the only couple to make the mistake of joining the que without getting a table first I did not notice a sign stating this I'm sure there is one somewhere?may I suggest it needs to be in a more prominent position!

I have just taken my eighty year old mother to the garden centre for lunch, she ordered a ham sandwich with salad and coleslaw, the food was of such a poor standard we could not believe they would serve it,my mother would not let me complain hence my review,in short the salad was brown and warm and we had more butter then ham in the poorly made hacked in half sandwich of fatty ham. the coleslaw tasted very strange probably off.then for her to pay £5.50 is really a rip off.

Visited with an elderly family member. On arrival we opted for one of the wheelchairs as it looked as if the place had expanded lots since our last visit. The lady on reception was very helpful as we had to book the wheelchair in. Four of us had the carvery which was very nice and piping hot. The cakes looked delicious but the scones are always a winner here. The garden centre itself is getting quite enormous, we actually got lost as we were used to it being much smaller. All in all a pleasant couple of hours

Had a fantastic time here today! Even though garden centres are not my usual choice for a family outing, we thought we would give it a try and are soooooo glad we did! There really was something for everyone! None of us left empty handed and the boot of the car was full to the brim with everything from Yankee Candles to a pair of decorative mugs! The highlight of the day though has to be the absolutely delicious 5* carvery which we all thoroughly enjoyed!! We will definitely be visiting again!!

Been coming to centre for a number of years, as ideal place to spend a few hours in the morning for a browse round, coffee and a snack and back home for lunch. This was our first visit after the latest "transformation" and the whole place is now enormous! Had a good old look around before ordering coffee and teacakes for two. We went through the till at 11.00am on the dot with our coffees, the teacakes were delivered to our table at 11.20am!! They came without knives to spread the butter, and with the appearance of having been left under warming lamps for some time!! Does make you wonder if, following that massive development in the the overall size, the kitchens might have bitten off more than they can chew?

Find this place very convenient for meeting family especially as 2 of them are in wheelchairs and 1 baby in pushchair. Although very busy we are never put under pressure to move on and we sat and had coffee then a short time later lunch. Later on my brother in law had gone off walking the dog and was waiting outside for us when one of the staff came out and told him that he could bring the dog in which was very kind of them.

My wife and I needed to go to the garden centre anyway, so decided to have lunch in the restaurant there. There is now a daily carvery on offer in addition to meals from the main menu and this is offered in small or regular sizes. The only difference is the amount of meat. Beef and Turkey were on offer today and they were both excellent - very tender. All the vegetables were well cooked and tasty. The carvery is an excellent choice. It should be noted that the name has now changed and it is Hornsea Garden centre, no longer Spring Garden Centre.

We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon out of season because the previous review said they allowed the dog to go inside. I asked if we could take the pup in and sit out of the way in the corner. The lady said no sorry I don’t allow dogs in at all.

We had lunch at The Potting Shed with family. This was a return visit, and we think it’s the best garden centre restaurant in the area. Soup was carrot and coriander (delicious, could’ve eaten more!), sandwiches were very fresh, and the haddock and chips were delicious. Restaurant is very clean and well laid out, tables not too close together. I’m sure we’ll be back!
