Very nice food and quick service

Family visit and we enjoyed the food and service. I'd say a rustic style with simplicity. Hit the mark for us and very popular place. Would definitely go back. Well done.

I've tried twice, and not ever left thinking that was nice. Would not recommend. Usually empty. Service is there but not warm. There are better places to go for Greek food.

Had a team dinner here, amazing food and amazing hospitality by the staff, we were allowed to stay late after everyone else had left and they even brought out a speaker to play music and dance. Lovely experience would highly recommend if in the area!

Was sure about the pickled onions in the stifado sure it should've been shallots and the rice looked like a packet of uncle Bens vegetable rice as opposed to pilaf. But still all edible just not what was expected

Loved our meal and the atmosphere with Greek music. Had grilled octopus and fried calamari as main dishes (delicious). Same about or starter. Went on a Tuesday evening when they have an offer for the main course (2 for 1). We would love to return on a different occasion.

I've visited Spitiko numerous times and always find the food very good - the grilled king prawns or Kleftiko are my particular favourites. The service is good too! Thanks Ketty and team.

We have dined a Spitiko on a number of occasions most recently last night to celebrate my daughters birthday (actually both her and my son who have birthdays 3 days apart). We have always loved the ambience, the food and the amazing staff and their great care, attention and personal touch. As folks have said already in reviews- a real gem. Last night was made special with a birthday banner which was a great surprise, and singing happy birthday. Thanks again

Halloumi salad was OK but the dish was advertised on a bed of mixed salad and olives, however there were no olives. Disappointed with the presentation. Overall very disappointing. The Lamb dish was tasty, but space re Roast potatoes and would definitely improve if served on a bed of salad. unfortunately we will probably not order from here again

Parts of the meal were first class, but the meats were dry and bland

We made a last minute decision to go out to eat and we were very pleased with our choice of this friendly restaurant. They were very welcoming and the food was delicious. Wonderful flavours and plenty of choice. Excellent

We ordered traditional meat meze. Most of hot & cold mezes were nice, and so were grilled chicken cubes and both types of “meatballs”, but who knew pork gammon and Polish kabanos sausages were Greek/Mediterranean! In summary, it’s OK food, but disappointing if you craved for Greek.

Had an amazing time last night. The food was excellent as was the service. We hadn’t been there for a while but we received a very genuine warm welcome. The kleftiko was so tender and the meat fell away from the bone and the sea bass was literally melt in the mouth.

This place is an oasis of Greece tucked away in a corner of Caversham, the atmosphere was almost like every one eating had been transported to a Greek beach restaurant somewhere. We shared the delicious mixed mezzi hot starter which with the lovely hot pitta bread was excellent, and for main we both had the E chicken breast stuffed with feta and spinach in a creamy mushroom sauce, and both thought this was one of the best dishes we had had for some while, all washed down with some nice cold Greek lagers, the whole dinner was less than £65 with 4 beers so good value, our waitress Eddie was excellent. No deserts as we were to full, and we left with 2 complimentary limoncello as a parting gift from Eddie, will certainly revisit. Certainly recommend to anyone who wants the taste o& Greece here in Caversham.

My favorite Fish Meze, which it was very tasty. I would also recommend Calamari, to be honest it was nice and crispy. The best service ever.

I'm sorry....Expected a lot more based on reviews but very disappointed. Cold meze was ok but the charcoal grills were bone dry and hard. Very small portions of salad and chips served with the meals also meant it was definitely not value for money.

We visited with a group of 15 although the restaurant was very busy the staff coped admirably with all our requests the food was very good and excellent value for money

Mixed opinions review ordered for collecting I always wanter to try food from this restaurant, but I kind of regret it, my husband had the moussaka and lamb koftas and said it was nice, although he didn't get the tzatziki that was supposed to come with it. My kalamari and fried potato was rather underwhelming- kalamari was not fried enough, so was very tough and pretty much raw, so not really nice, and fried potatoes were soggy chips - I'm afraid not worth £14.95, the filo pastry parcels were nice and luckily, my husband shared his side salad, so my meal wasn't so plain, but I binned most of it, it just didn't fulfill my expectation. Unfortunately won't be using again :(

Very nice place to check Greek food. Nice staff with good knowledge and attitiude to customers, delicious food, fantastic tzatziki with pita, lovely mix grill with fresh crispy fries, cold beer, parking behind the restaurant (u have to pay) fresh ingriedients every time, nice atmosphere around and choices of wine. Very nice!

Went with 4 friends last tuesday, everything was amazing, the food was superb, the service couldn't have been better, we will all be returning as a great local find.

Very friendly and welcoming. The stuffed aubergine starter was so tasty and the meat platter for 2 could easily have been for 3 or 4 people! He overheard we were there celebrating a birthday and surprised us with a dessert with candle. Such a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Food was pretty good! Automatic 12.5% service charge isn't nice. The food already isn't super cheap and the extra 12.5% makes it not worth it. Staff was nice and i would have considered giving our server a personal tip if it wasn't for the charge.

Visited here for a birthday meal with 10 of us in attendance. The food was incredible, so much flavour in every single dish and a great variety of options. Our waitress was the perfect amount of attentive and made sure we were well looked after including accommodating for a vegetarian and vegan in our party. The restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere and was nicely decorated with clean toilets. I won’t hesitate to recommend this to others and will most definitely be visiting again.

We went on a Wednesday and it was a little empty but that doesn't bother us. Food was great and at the end found out its 241 on Wednesdays which was a nice surprise. Left a nice large tip and will return.

It was a cold Friday night, and Quattro was full at 7:30pm. Spitiko was totally empty, apart from friends/family of the management. It didn't bode well, but thought we would try it out. Wine by the glass......er, no just don't. It was not good. Food: again, not good. Overly salty Moussaka which was clearly not fresh, and the greek salad just limp. The hommos tasted shop bought....needless to say it was friendly, but you don't go to a restaurant to just chat to staff. No returns from me.

Visited this place on our trip to Reading on a Saturday evening. It’s a cozy place with great scenic view pictures of Greece on the background. Service is good and the food is simply Extraordinary. I am a big fan of Mediterranean food, used to have it a lot back in The States. The flavours and the taste were exquisite. There is a little public parking place right round the corner for someone like us who visited on a car. Overall great experience for my family and I really loved their food. Highly recommend it!

Best place to visit in Caversham ❤️

So close to being the best Greek restaurant I have ever been in that isn't in Greece - somehow a street in Reading loses out to places in the Greek countryside with their fresh local produce and views but it's still very good and, judging by the number of regulars in, it is highly regarded. Really good starters including Lamb Kofta (very tasty), Hummus ( excellent - quite an accolade from a lady who lived in London surrounded by some of the best), my own Stuffed Aubergine (very tasty but a bit lacking in flavour) and my partner's Garlic Prawns (ok, slightly overcooked, a bit short of sauce and £3 per prawn is a bit steep). The mains of Lamb Cutlets (delicious), Kalamari (tasty but not exceptional), my lady's Chicken Souvlaki (to die for, could have just eaten the rice it was that hood - I tasted both, she wasn't wrong. I had the Mixed Grill and it's the nicest meat I have tasted in this country, perfectly cooked with startling flavour. Service was excellent despite beibg very busy early on a Saturday evening. My lady's son and partner have just moved to Reading and so we most certainly will visit again., just know what doesn't work for us. Highly recommended Revisited in October 2023 after the birth of my lady's first grand daughter so two of us ate in and two had a takeaway I should start by saying that we were waited on by a gentleman who said he normally worked in the kitchen but someone was help up en route - he was brilliant My lady opted for the Tirokaftera or spicy feta dip which was pretty amazing. whilst I went for the equaly impressive Pastourma which is a beef Greek version of chorizo and very tasty. On the mains front my lady went for Chicken Souvlaki and I for the lamb version of the same. Both were really good and I would love to know what they put in thr rice to make it taste so good. The takeaways were both lamb souvlaki and they were very very well received

Had a lovely dinner at Spitko, my first time visiting. The food is high quality, and there were good drink options too. A nice dinner with friends or a partner. The service was great and they surprised us with a birthday set of desserts!

We've used the takeaway service before but this time went to the restaurant for dinner. The food was really good and authentically Cypriot; we particularly enjoyed the meze and the calamari was perfectly cooked. This restaurant has nice relaxed atmosphere and great service so we had an enjoyable meal. Will be back.

Really, really great food. The vegtable moussaka was amazing, everything else our group ordered was top quality as well. Portion sizes are great, staff friendly and attentive but not overly so - customer service was spot on.

Visited this Fabulous gem in Reading on a Friday evening. What a great find! Authentic Greek food with ingredients sourced from Greece. From simple appetisers to main course, very well cooked and presented, both veg and meat dishes. The owner Eddy, a charming professional explained the dishes and made us feel at home. The cherry on top was the delicious dessert Bugatsa Thessaloniki so perfectly made. We understood there is also live music every Saturday so we shall keep visiting this fantastic place. Keep it up Eddy and Katy.

What an outstanding find! On a busy road across the river from Reading, we found this lovely Greek gem! Authentic atmosphere, sensible pricing, and of course incredible food! Go for the tasting Meze sharing menus for best range of dishes. A very special thanks to Katie who went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner so special!

I've been to this restaurant 3 times over the past few years and can't say I've ever had a meal to write home about. The last time we didn't want anything too big, so just had some meze starters. They lacked freshness and flavour. The okra was so overcooked I couldn't eat it and the mixed vegetables were way too oily. The best thing about it was the pitta and I can't say they could take credit for that. We are vegetarian so our options are limited, and maybe the meat and fish dishes are great, but can't comment. The manager seemed more interested on what was on his phone than the customers in the restaurant, leaving the young lady to do all the serving. I felt like we really wasted money that night.

Very good service and very tasty food, I'm not sure how much of it is cooked to order as a friend ordered the lamb, which is served on the bone, it was served within about 30 mins but it looked like it had been in the oven for over an hour for it to have the colour and caramelise it had, it was all still very tasty food.

Friendly Greek Turkish fusion restaurant serving lamb chicken fish and totally veggy/ vegetarian options. Sure if old Cypriot owned Kyrenia.

Great to enjoy Greek food that actually tastes Greek. Stifado beef was delicious. My wife said the moussaka was one of the best she has had. Wine was exceptionally good. Service was attentive and friendly.
