Spiritland Royal Festival Hall in Lambeth

Lovely food with an attentive team, coupled with good value for money. Unfortunately, my dining experience was compromised by the mice in the dining area and this rating is given because of the manager’s handling of the situation. As I started to explain about the mice, the manager stated that he was aware of the situation and there are several mouse traps within the restaurant. Also he indicated that this was problem for all restaurants in the area. However, I should be assured that he is meeting all the hygiene standards. Had I known about the mice I would have spent my money elsewhere. Hygiene and mice is not a healthy combination. So I will not be visiting this restaurant again.

We visited Spiritland for a drink and a snack. We ordered 2 Waldorf salads and a bowl of chips. The food arrived without the chips and the salads were disgusting. All the classic ingredients were mixed together and covered in a vinegarette dressing which made them all wet and floppy. It was difficult to find any walnuts and there were no grapes! Needless to say it was sent back and we didn’t pay. Not good. Drinks were fine though.

With only 90 minutes notice Javier and the team at Spiritland accommodated a group of 68 travelling Mexicans at lunchtime with some wonderful beef and chicken burgers. Felt like we had a private dining experience as we were able to take over the rear dining space. Service was excellent considering the numbers and food fantastic. Very grateful to Javier and the team to dealing with our group with little notice. What a brilliant place and we will be back!!

Came to spirit land with my friend and was served by bartender Marlon, he was so professional and kind! Will definitely be back soon ❤️

This is the second time visiting and the experience has the same. Ambiance and decor great. Sound system fantastic. Service very poor. Staff are unconsciously incompetent, untrained, and therefore come across as pretentious (borderline rude). Sat at table for nearly 15mins without being asked for aperitif order. Observed staff being unobservant themselves (walking around and through the restaurant but not looking at tables or making eye contact with guests) and unaware of how to properly run restaurant table service. We had to keep calling and waving to catch staff attention to make orders. They were pretty quick to clear menus and issue bill though. Given that the food and cocktails here are nothing to write home about, the Spiritland franchise needs to invest in ‘hospitality’ and not treat the F&B industry as a low skilled service one. Post covid, customers are smarter and fussier. We’ll be investing in businesses that look after us and for this reason, we won’t be returning to Spiritland RFH for a while and will spread the word on the experience we’ve had.

Great staff, lovely food. It has a nice calming feel about it. Would definitely come back and eat here again.

This place is awesome on so many levels! Great music - so civilised with speakers in the toilets! The staff is amazing & so friendly (special shout out to Samuel 😃) if you haven’t been - go!

Within the painful and unispiring carapace of RFH is a similar no-frills structure known as Spiritland. There the food is of a reasonable quality (the desserts seem more inspired) and the price quite low. The waiters seemed a little eccentric (which could work in your favour or not) and while our (Greek?) waiter responded to our request with a Basil Fawlty-like incredulity he was committed to providing a good service with respect to the technical side of things.

This is one of the few restaurants in London that you can experience an absolutely breathtaking sound, delicious dishes and excellent service. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxing. The concept of this project is adding a serious amount of "quality of life"in our every day stressful reality. From the entrance you feel the hospitality standard and the professionalism of people who run the place. Food is absolutely delicious. Dishes are carefully prepared and presented. I would personally recommend that you spend a Sunday afternoon with your partner having delicious and relaxing afternoon. Highly recommend!

Met some friends here for brunch. Nearly missed it as it was hidden by street food stalls. Really close to waterloo so convenient for catching the train, like we were. There was space for us to store our bags while we ate & also went for a walk after. It feels like you’ve gone back in time in the restaurant to the 70s with the decoration & music. The brunch menu was ok, nothing special really. All the usual classics on these. My scrambled eggs on toast was small but tasty. The apple juice was lovely! The staff were friendly but a bit slow. Would come back but maybe just for drinks or to try dinner.

Fantastic venue. Food excellent, service relaxed but attentive. Good selection of wine and whisky. Highly recommend

We often used Canteen when visiting the South Bank and were disappointed to find it had gone. Our one complaint about Canteen had always been the acoustics - we were always competing with the noise level in the old place. Spiritland, in contrast, is a peaceful oasis - just great. The food and the service are also at Canteen's level being well-prepared, good value and delivered by efficient staff. So a win all round in our eyes.

Party of 17 for our son’s birthday, and can’t recommend Spiritland enough. Amazing food (Korean chicken sandwich was the standout) and fantastic friendly service. Perfect location for anything near Waterloo or South Bank, totally worth the visit. Very cool venue as well, really impressive. Highly recommended.

Nice food. Shame our drinks didn’t arrive until after the food and the waiter didn’t understand what a poached egg was (and this was for brunch). Nice vibe, slightly over bright spot lights on the table. Mixed bag. Not great

Popped in here prior to a business meeting - went for a cappuccino and a chocolate, sour cherry and orange muffin. It comes hot...its also a bit scone like...but fantastic! Service was great and found me a quiet corner where I could be on a call whilst having my coffee...will come back

Spiritland was very accommodating in terms of a last minute booking for a relatively large party. Unfortunately the experience at the table wasn’t great. There was a convoluted and nonsensical explanation about how burgers couldn’t be cooked to order— “we don’t grind the meat here...

Four ladies met for lunch and had a delicious range of food. The hummus was smooth and had lots of flavour. The broccoli pasta was great and the roasted cauliflower. Attention to detail - a mirror in each ladies loo with a light above it...

Off to see Apocalypse Now at the BFI and needed to eat quick. We went in on the off chance of getting a table ( it was 6.30 after all).We were seated really quick but they needed the table back by 8, not a problem....

Visited after trying to find somewhere close to Waterloo station. Very good service. Stayed for a glass of wine and the atmosphere was nice. Would go back again

We thought we'd give Spiritland a go as it was in the same location as the Canteen which was good for a pre concert meal. When we arrived we were only given one menu to share between three of us and had to request more....

I have been to their Kings Cross venue but is bigger here as it's 180 cover over different areas....it is a great place to come for a couple of drinks before a gig upstairs in Royal Festival Hall...their main room is where the top notch...

An interesting concept of food and drinks in the heart of London. We stopped for a quick drink and end up staying for dinner and wine as well. We have been well look after by two of the ladies Manager, Hatley and Ioana. Recommended.

Trendy meeting place. Noisy over excited people. Only came in for something to eat before a show. Slovenly service. Very undistinguished food. Won’t rush back.
