Super pleasant atmosphere, attentive service, delicious food for a more affordable price compared to the high prices in London. The team has employees from several countries, so if you have any difficulties with the language, this could be a plus.

We really enjoyed our trip to Flat Iron Waterloo. Sophie was great and super attentive and helpful in describing the different steaks and sides on the menu, and was very helpful with my allergies. The vibe of the restaurant is really nice, warm and friendly, and the free popcorn is a nice touch while you order. We both went for the bavette steaks; mine was very tasty and juicy, a little grisly at a couple of points but for a £17 steak it was really good, the flavour was fantastic. My husband's bavette, however, was not so great. It seemed smaller, messier and like a tougher cut (see pics comparing the two - this is how they were both served). Had my husband pointed the condition of his steak to me at the time (he sent his pic later to me), I would have encouraged him to send it back. He actually ended up ordering a second classic flat iron steak because he felt his was so small... which he said was nice enough, but not as good as the bavette and a bit tough - again though, flavour was great. The sides were good, although the chips were a bit mediocre and the salad could have been a bit fresher and crisper, though we were probably one of the last tables of the night so that could explain this. The actual flavours in the salad are beautiful and refreshing, and the mushroom sauce is absolutely amazing! After Sophie went on her break/finished her shift (seemingly?), it was quite difficult to get the attention of the staff members for drinks/the bill etc and everything took quite a long time, though they were friendly when we could get their attention. The restaurant was winding down at this point and not so busy, so I would have hoped it to be a bit easier to get their attention. All in all a good experience but IMO they need to work on the cuts of steak being the same/uniform.

Great service after a miscommunication to go above and beyond to make things right! Much appreciated and much enjoyed.

The place was ok busy but service was good and quick. We ordered Flat Iron steak and the Wagyu sirloin for sharing is really not enough for two people if you are very hungry.Honestly you can finish it all yourself.The chips were overcooked and so crispy that it’s not even pleasurable to eat.There is a free ice cream after you pay the bill and it’s only for take out ,it was good though.

Good restaurant, with a simple menu. However, the quality of the food is excellent. Enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak. Choice of small dishes on the side and sauces. After dinner a coin for free ice cream. Had to wait a while, but fine on a terrace in the sun.

Great service, food and location. We had the flat iron steak with sides and sauce…perfect. Free popcorn as starter, water as well as a free icecream when we left.

The food is reasonably priced. The seating space was a bit small for someone tall but the lady served the food was very pleasant with a lovely smile. Thank you.

Marvellous & divine! We're so glad to have discovered that incredible restaurant. Things are not "made up" here! Real friendliness from the beginning, real honest quality of meat and work. For me, the stars of this spot are the team members. Why? I got one of the best steak experiences of my life. But what makes the experience perfect are the people working to make it a fantastic dinner for me. In a big city where there are many spots battling for being more exclusive, more shiny, more anything, this one stands out with honest passion for what they do! And everyone I met was great! The food was excellent. The steaks were perfection and I think we had almost all of the side dishes on offer, the mash and spinach being our favourite. Our waiter was great, however the hostess was very lukewarm and did look us up and down when we arrived. As a group of 5 we were asked to sit on a table of 4. Overall we still had a lovely time.

TLDR: Flat Iron offers delicious food at very reasonable prices. 5 stars all around! I'm not a fan of beef but my friends wanted to go. I ordered the house steak and was absolutely blown away... It was divine! I'm not a convert by any means - you won't see me ordering steak in other restaurants - but I will DEFINITELY be coming back to Flat Iron for more! The employees at this branch were lovely and happily obliged when we asked one of them to take a quick photo of us with our FREE ice cream cones. It was Tahitian vanilla and burnt butter ice cream... the best ice cream I've had in a long time. (If I had to find fault with it: the chocolate crumb on top didn't add to the flavour, I would have swapped it for a cinnamon crumble.) A bottle of red paired well with our meal. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the location and quality. The beef dripping chips were good but not to the same level as everything else, sorry, chefs. I can't wait to try the mash next time.

Grill restaurant with a very good atmosphere. They have small details with clients that make them very pleasant and friendly. As an appetizer, they serve you popcorn and for dessert, a very delicious soft ice cream. Very good meat and great service. Special mention to our waitress TERESA, the most salty Cordoban woman in all of London. He treated us great, gave us recommendations on the menu, explained the type of meat and the cooking point and answered all the questions we asked him, always with a big smile. A good signing for the local. Thank you very much TERESA. We will be back. Bsss.

Had a lovely improptu meal out yesterday with my partner and couldn’t have asked for more. Complimentary popcorn as we sat and got comfy, perfectly cooked steak for me, and a mouthwatering burger for my partner. Even the sides were above par (truffle Mac and cheese was not overpowering at all!!) To top it off, our server Sophie was fabulous. Never had to ask any questions as she explained everything thoroughly, and didn’t have to look around and wait for staff as she was always at the table at the right time to address our needs. Highly recommended. Will be visiting againsoon.

firstly, wonderfully staff; this time Luigi, who was funny and caring for the 5 of us (3 kids 2 adults). to be mentioned, last time great staff as well but we forgot to ask for names. secondly, great concept focused on meat and nothing else. no starter (except for the great free popcorn) and no dessert (except for the free soft ice cone on the way out) ;-)

Outstanding experience for having a delicious flat iron steak. Fully recommend the signature steak and also the chips on the side with peppercorn sauce. On top of it, we had the best service experience by Teresa, she made sure everything was sorted out quickly and the most friendly manner. 10/10 full experience.

Super charming service. Delicious steaks. We ate here twice while on vacation. We didn't make a reservation both times. The first time, we left our phone number and name and were informed after about 25 minutes that the table was ready. The second time we got there a little earlier and got a table straight away. The steaks were delicious, as were the sides, whether it was chips, mac and cheese or mash, everything was super tasty. I particularly enjoyed the ice cream and vanilla isn't usually my favorite.

I was a bit early, but they fixed me a table quickly. Pleasant and positive staff who drew and explained the menu. I actually finished eating before the time I booked a table. A super experience. Strongly recommended

Although i wasn’t much of a fan of the chips, i think flavour is subjective, but due to the absolutely outstanding service by Luigi and extremely fast turn over, this place deserves 5 stars. My medium rare steak was cooked to perfection and it was very nice and served neat and presentable. Another reason this place gets 5 stars is due to the free popcorn and icecream u get, and did i forget to mention this place is actually affordable?

Ate here for a birthday last week. We had the private room in the bottom floor which was really nice, along the good food and usual phenomenal ice cream. Our waiter Luigi was absolutely amazing! He took great care of us (despite us being on a separate floor). He was always careful to check we were happy and had everything we needed throughout the two hours that we spent in the restaurant. At the end of the dinner he took group pictures and had a pleasant quick chat with us. Highly recommend the restaurant and hope Luigi will be our waiter again next times!

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The quality and taste of the food and the value for money are exceptional. We were served by Luigi who was extremely attentive and pleasant. Also the soundtrack was outstanding, many noughties hits for a millennial like me to enjoy. Will 100% be back the next time we are in the area!!

Had the best meal ever here! The steak is perfect, highly recommend the mash, dipping fries, and truffle mac as well! The Malbec wine and elderflower bellini were also excellent. Our server Dylan was the sweetest person ever and very attentive. Overall amazing and highly recommended

This is a regular spot my friends and I go to. Wiktoria was an excellent server , making sure all our needs were met! Flat iron never disappoints!

Firstly, I've read a lot of the reviews and so am unsure as to why my experience is a little different. 10/10 What a cheerful warm welcome and managed to get me a table as a walk in on a Friday night even though there was nothing available online. 10/10 The server was also cheerful attentive and there to help. 10/10 Loved the chips, and the final ice cream when leaving and .. 4/10 My steak was not very good. Firstly it was slightly warm at best and so I guess had not been cooked to order as the service was still quick. Quality of steak was at best ok but in defence, what do you expect for £14. (We were going to the theatre and so under time restraint and so didn't complain) My daughter's restaurant of choice is always a steak restaurant and she like me was not enamored with the quality of the steak. Guessing we will give Flat Iron another go at another venue as everyone can have an off day.

Really tasty food at a great price. What's not to like about the place.

The basic steak was also really delicious. I ordered Garlic Mash and Creamed Spinach together and both went well with the steak. Honestly, I don't think there is anywhere in London where you can eat at this price. The staff's service was also very good. And the ice cream that you could exchange for tokens after the meal was really, really delicious. I would like to come back again just for the ice cream.

Courtesy was oozing from the moment we lined up at the door. It felt like stepping into a warm embrace of positive vibes. No line-cutting drama, just friendly chatter as we waited to be seated. This was a special dinner date with my Sizzy, and the buzz was that this place served fantastic, affordable steaks, so despite the tempting array of other dishes, steak was our mission. Once settled in our cozy nook for two, complimentary popcorn appeared. It was fresh and delicious which definitely set the tone for a great meal. Our server Sophie was so bubbly, full of charm and great recommendations; took our orders, including some divine cocktails. Before we knew it, our meal was served – perfectly cooked steaks alongside mac and cheese, fries, and creamed spinach. Each bite was like a heavenly choir serenading my taste buds (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea, lolly! ). The drinks were spot-on too. When Sophie offered us complimentary ice cream as a thank you gesture, I nearly shed a tear – talk about a sweet surprise! We lingered until closing time, soaking in the captivating energy, finishing every last morsel on our plates, and bidding farewell to the staff with heartfelt gratitude. Then came the ice cream (tiny knife tokens were given to leave by the door to be served the ice-cream as one leaves)... let me tell you, it was a game-changer. Best cone I have ever had, no cap! Seriously, why are you still reading this? Go book a table and experience it for yourself. No regrets, only delicious memories ahead!

Organized right from the time of booking and excellent meat (even salad and spinach as a side dish), with many small freebies including popcorn at the beginning, trinkets after paying and a delicious ice cream on the way out! I highly recommend.
