Chicago Rib Shack in Lambeth

I came here for the ten pound rubs and chips deal which was worse than frozen food. The chips aren't even seasoned. The service is the only saving grace.

There is no reason to eat at this place. While the service has improved the food is abysmal. Whatever changed in terms of either management, suppliers or kitchen staff (or all three), this once amazing rib place is now not visiting.I have eaten there 5+ times previously and the ribs were amazing. Best I’ve had in London.Now they are terrible, as was the gravy, salad and fries. All either overcooked, way too much dressing or, in the case of the ribs, half the thickness, over cooked and dry.Sadly won’t be going back.

Came her using a group on voucher, so it made it cheap. However without the voucher I don't think I would come here as I don't feel the food has that wow factor. The service was really good , even though there was only two waiters they were really attentive and helpful. We had a fantastic chat with one of the waiters about spirituality, and he was really kind. We had nachos and chicken strips to start, I had the burger as the main and my friend had the ribs. The food was nice and tasty, it was just standard was not particularly worth full price. They do add service charge but as its a chain,  I prefer to refuse the service charge and tip the waiters directly. Would I come back probably not but the ambience inside is nice if you are considering with a voucher

Very disappointing poor service even though we were the only table in the entire restaurant, we wanted a trip down memory lane as this was one of our favourite family restaurants back in the 90’s when it was in Knightsbridge nothing was the same even though the menu and PR would have you believe it was ... Though onion loaf was stodgy the ribs dry even the fries were terrible .

I have been a customer for many years and the restaurant in Knightsbridge was great.... however since that restaurant has disappeared, I’ve gone to Clapham and although the name is the same the restaurants are not the same. The ribs are different and sadly the quality of the ribs are not he same, although the onion loaf is still amazing. I am not a fan of TFI’s but their Jack Daniels ribs are the very best I’ve tasted in the UK.

I came in here last night with my partner and we got a Wowcher deal - 2 course meal with a cocktail for 2 people for £25.Chicago Rib Shack was very easy to find as its entry sign is very obvious with great eye catching decor.Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly attentive staff, the lady let us choose a table of our choice, decor on the inside was nice, bright lights and very modern looking.The waitress gave us a set Wowcher menu and we decided to choose the Mac and cheese spring rolls & spicy wings for starter and a cheese burger with fries & baby rack of ribs with fries for our mains.The choice of cocktails wasn’t great, they only offered two which were white spirits, I’m not much of a white spirit drinker so I didn’t finish it and didn’t like the taste.The cheese spring rolls were very succulent and cheesy - they were served with a side sauce. Absolutely delicious.The spicy wings were very well cooked and had a spicy drizzle on top, loved them.The baby rack of ribs were very big portion for a baby size - again. Delicious.The CHEESE BURGER was TO DIE FOR. I’ve never tasted a cheese burger so good, the meat was cooked well done and was still so succulent and juicy. I’m still thinking about it all now. Both meals served with a large portion of fries. Overall the experience and food was good minus the cocktails but that isn’t nothing worth being upset over.Very friendly staff and atmosphere overall :)

3 of us brought bottomless brunch deal from Groupon. Was told one of the items was not on the menu which I could not understand as it was only 2:30pm but anyway I had the big breakfast and it most certainly lived up to its name. My friends unfortunately had the chicken and waffle and were disappointed with the portion size, one had to order extra food. All in all, food was tasty. Prosecco was nice, choice of bellini, mimosa or rum punch. They topped glasses up fairly regular. Would have been nice if the waitress had told us when our time was coming to an end because we lost track and would have savored our last glass. Ordered more drinks and lovely bar tender brought them to the table. My friend paid the drinks bill, I'm sure there is a ridiculous service charge even when you do not order any thing extra which I feel is robbery. The restaurant has a Nice decor and ambiance but goddam they need to pay their heating bill. Was fricken freezing in there. Good locationI have mixed feelings about this place. I would like to go back but they need to sort out a few things

I booked for 14 people here for a surprise birthday brunch for my boyfriend and it was pretty good. The bottomless drinks are great - I recommend the rum punch! They were quite accommodating for such a large group and we were able to put the cake in the fridge until needed. The only reason why I've given it 4 stars not 5 is because the fuss of paying for so many people. We all paid £10 each for the booking deposit and completely forgot about it when paying so some people paid too much and the last to pay only paid £7.. It got way too confusing to sort out who owes who what.

First time I have visited rib shack on Tuesday and they have a deal 2 for 1 across the board which I did order from plus half rack of bbq ribs and a coffee I had asked weather the drink you get with the 2 for 1 deal included wine I was told it did. I paid the bill but thought a little high for what I got didn’t fuss but when I got home I checked receipt I called next day explained my experience I was told I would be transferred to speak to someone but alas no one else on line I treed phoning back a few times but no joy. So be careful of offers. Food was not great

I was the first to arrive of a group of 5. Firstly , they couldnot find our reservation, then when they did, the manager looked bothered that he had to rearrange the seating to accomodate us. Then i sat there for 25 minutes without being asked if i wanted a drink while i wait. I had to ask for a drinks menu, and asked to be served.One of the ladies i was with ordered a piña colada, when she tasted it, it seemed as tho the cream was off. So she told the waiter this, and asked for another drink in exchange. The waiter proceeded to dip a straw in the drink, taste it, and tell my friend that he doesnot think its off.When the food arrives, we asked the waiter if there are any condiments (mayo, chili sauce) he then proceeded to say "I only have 2 hands, you need to wait and i will bring them". Understandable; yet rude.Then after about 1hr and a half of dining/ drinking,the manager then remembers to ask us if we needed anything/if our meal was good.I will not be returning.

Brunch ilimitado con Buy a Gift, comida fabulosa, personal atento, muchas bebidas, teníamos al menos 6 vasos de Mimosa incluidos en nuestro horario de hora y media. Tuve el picadillo de puerco desmenuzado, tan sabroso que mi hija ordenó esto también después de probar la tostada integral con huevo, salmón ahumado y aguacate. Ya habíamos pagado 29 por el bono, pero teníamos una factura adicional de 20, aunque bastante caro para el brunch, realmente disfruté como un regalo, definitivamente recomendaría, un gran ambiente en el lugar, muy optimista y tocar excelentes canciones.

Se llama Rib Shack, pero cuatro de los cinco platos en la sección de costillas del menú estaban apagados. Y también lo fueron otras opciones de menú. El comienzo de un "pan de cebolla" era repugnante, y comeré la mayoría de las cosas. Fuimos por hamburguesas en ausencia de costillas y estaban empapadas, sin vida y sin sabor. El servicio fue errático y nuestro servidor susurró que estaban buscando otro trabajo y se disculpó por lo horrible que eran las cosas. La cerveza de barril en el menú ya no estaba disponible. Y decidimos saltearnos el postre y volver al pub. La impresión que tuvimos fue que este lugar está en los patines. Y, francamente, con restaurantes mucho mejores en todo Clapham, ¿por qué molestarse en pasar una noche desagradable en este lugar? Seriamente.

not much choice of menu on buy a gift sadly, enjoyed starters, my chicken was really nice but there was too much salt in my mash and the gem lettuce wasn’t nice, Could not fault the service very attentive.

This is the one place I go too for beef rib! It was soft and succulent and fell right if the bone!!!!

Had a lovely meal here with my husband. I had nachos for starter which had generous toppings (however could have done with more salsa!), we then had a burger and ribs for mains. The ribs were delicious!! The burger was ok but I didn't personally like the chutney. The chips were actually the nicest chips I've ever had - super creamy and soft inside and crispy outside - perfect! Delicious cheesecake. Marked a 4 as a few things I didn't personally like on the food, I was served luke warm water and one of the waitresses who served us did not look very happy at all!! But we had a lovely time overall

Had a lovely service the waiter was very friendly and very welcoming . Agent for the brunch and every time I needed a drink she was always ready with my rum punch would definitely go back again

We enjoyed our evening here since we walked in! Lovely welcomed into this causy restaurant in the arch under the railway. The tasty smell of the ribs in the air made us even more hungry so we were happy the food arrived to the table so quickly.

Nice vibe. Great starters, mac and cheese spring rolls and the hot wings. The Oreo Milkshake is very nice too. The staff are very friendly. Great service from our waitress Shenai and the Manager Lisa

Nice location nice setting , I’ve seen reviews that criticise the service here but we had good service admittedly they weren’t standing over your shoulder the whole time but they were busy and if asked they were attentive efficient and friendly so no complaints from me . In my opinion if you can see the staff are busy cut them some slack and be patient it’s not an easy job keeping everyone happy. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The food was good we ate from the set menu which was not extensive but ideal for what we wanted a choice of ribs or burger both were nice we ordered all the starters on offer the nachos were nice but the mac and cheese spring rolls were delicious especially when eaten with the blue cheese dressing that came with the wings ( you might want to try that combo rib shack) they were bigger than I expected as well .all in all a very nice meal in a nice setting with friendly staff. The only downer was that they couldn’t serve alcohol as they were renewing their license I expect that to be resolved soon you might want to check on that if you book but on the plus side they had no objection to you buying your own and bringing it in which actually works out cheaper and no corkage charge.

We went for a quick dinner mid-week, mainly being drawn in for a 2 for 1 offer, however when I went to order a beer to go with my rack of ribs, they informed us that they could not offer us any alcohol as they didn't have a licence to sell booze mid-week. Very poor show. This was perhaps why the restaurant was dead and they have to run food deals every night of the week. The pubs opposite and next door were rammed......

Donde empezar . . . . . Dios mío ! Para empezar, el servicio era absolutamente atroz, la camarera parecía que odiaba su trabajo, no nos daba la bienvenida y no explicaba nada en el menú. Teníamos que pedir constantemente nuestras bebidas y comida. Ahora la comida, absolutamente insípida y de mala calidad. De las fotos se puede ver que es lo que dejamos, ya que era uno de los peores lugares en los que he comido. Los cócteles fueron mezclados por un aficionado, no somos expertos, pero cuando pagas 8 libras por cóctel, ¡esperas un estándar mínimo! Ahora para el postre. . . . . Nos lo dieron en una caja, frío, y estoy tomando sobre el browny y la tarta de queso que se veía seca. Ni siquiera intentamos comer ya que el resto de la comida era basura y yo no correría el riesgo de comer otra cosa. ¡Todo lo que puedo decir es evitar este lugar y la cadena alimentaria a toda costa! Mal servicio, mala comida, si pudiera le daría 0 estrellas. Cuando recibimos la factura, no pagamos el cargo por servicio e informamos que la experiencia de la cena fue un desastre.

Vine aquí ayer con mis padres y mi mejor amigo para mi cumpleaños, y todos estábamos muy decepcionados con el servicio. La comida era decente, pero después de tener un problema con el código de Groupon, no pudimos disfrutar de nosotros mismos. Muy mala satisfacción para el cliente, ya que una camarera tenía una mala actitud: ¿le dijo a mi madre que me entregara su iPad a mí o a mi amiga porque entendemos mejor la tecnología? Esto fue solo porque el wifi en el restaurante no funcionaba, no es culpa de mi madre, así que siento que es extremadamente grosero. El ambiente debido a esto no fue agradable, nadie reconoció mi cumpleaños y, considerando que tenía altos estándares, estoy muy decepcionado.

La ubicación y la comida eran excelentes, excelente servicio y jugoso entrante y bebé de vuelta y jugosas y elegantes costillas.

I was a regular visitor to this restaurant in London in the late eighties and it always had such a vibrance about it. I thought they had closed them all down until I spotted this one a few months ago. Honestly, it lacked the vibrance, buzz and atmosphere that I remembered. Staff would eventually seat you, give you a menu and eventually come back to take your order. Once the food was delivered, you didn't see them again until you wanted to pay the bill - again, signalling for attention! They seemed bored and disinterested.

Went for a meal with my partner, service was the worst part, table was dirty, ordered two sides of loaded fries and nachos turned up, when returned we didn’t receive the original order of fries. When asked the waitress responded “I forgot to put the order in, do you still want them?” We had finished the meal at this point and got No apology. We would of ordered dessert but didn’t want to stay there any longer. Food was average if a overpriced.

So I came here with my partner for the bottomless brunch. And I must admit it was great fun and the food was yummy!! You also get unlimited drinks for 1.5 hours which certainly brighten the mood. Great service from staff, very attentive to our every need.

What an excellent food and great service. This place is tack away from the Main Street. It’s a hidden gem. I had been in so many similar Restaurants, foods delicious. The bottomless brunch service was good, and the staff were attentive. Food was served incredibly quickly and the quality could do with improvement, along with the size. We enjoyed the time, but I wouldn't go back.

The starters are phenomenal especially the mac and cheese balls! The beef ribs weren't great but the rest of the food was amazing, I wish I had ordered more!

Visited here as a family with 2 children. We booked in advance and were seated quickly into a nice booth. Waitress was very pleasant and gave great service and convo. She engaged with the children.

I will never return to this restaurant and likely none of the ones in the chain. I went here with my sister and from the moment of arrival there was a particular staff member who was absolutely rude to us. We had made a reservation and he still rushed us out of the restaurant clearly he did not like our custom and it's such a shame because there was a lady behind the bar who was great to us and also the gentleman that took our food order initially was kind enough to help us out with our choices. Unfortunately the whole experience was ruined and we were appalled and made to feel like crap by that guy who appeared like he was some sort of manager there. They need to change him otherwise you'll keep losing customers busy and stressed or not there's a way to treat customers and that was not it.

Went with friends as the bottomless brunch really appealed to us! £15 for 1.5 hours of unlimited prossecco? Yes please. In reality, this was a bit of a letdown. Although we were topped-up throughout this time frame, I'm pretty sure we were overcharged when the bill arrived. But there was no point in arguing this once we'd all had our booze. Food here was absolutely average. Not big portions, sloppy and greasy. Such a shame because the interior of the restaurant is actually very nice. Staff were nice enough too! ...Until the whole ripping us off thing.

Being born in Memphis, lived and traveled around the world. I have to admit, after eating at the Chicago Rib Shack in London. The UK is fortunate to have "Ribs of Royalty" that has U.S. roots.

My partner had recommended the beef ribs having had the dish before. I have cooked tasty pork ribs before so thought I'd give it a go. I'm so glad I did.

The place is easily accessible from the train station and all other public transport. Chilled vibes and staff are cool. Offers a very relaxed environment. Food is excellent, and they have really affordable offers for food and beverages.

Costillas de ternera estaban bien, pero eso fue todo. Las costillas de la calle Louis estaban bien, pero nada especial. Lo que realmente no nos gustó fueron las papas fritas. Teníamos el Cajun y el Asqueroso. Ambos tenían tanta salsa (no una buena salsa) que todos estaban empapados.

We had our food delivered. For £7 we received 3 chicken strips (see pic) that were no better quality than McDonald’s chicken select strips. For £10.50 we received a small hamburger with no sides. The burger was medium rare, which I prefer, but got put off when I saw the food. Over priced for average food. We won’t be spending our money at this place again.

Went here needing somewhere to chill before our daughters audition. It was a Saturday afternoon, the food and service were good but being able to play the supplied games was great. Several games of cluedo followed by guess who.

I liked it, the ribs where good and so where the chips, I think there good overall maybe something to help clean the fingers might be a good idea.

Was SO excited for this. Travelled from Ramsgate in Kent to eat here, as we were going to O2 Brixton as well, but soon realised it was the wrong choice.

Very poor. They advertise open until 11.00pm. We went in at 10.00pm and they said they had closed the kitchen because it was quiet and they didn't want to open it again. Very poor.

First before i write my review i am disappointed that people are leaving nad reviews here for the branch at Wandsworth. The Clapham branch of rib shack is great and i agree the service at Wandsworth is poor but its pretty unfair to leave all your bad reviews here for the Clapham restaurant. The service the chefs and the staff are totally different so if you can actually be botheted to look ypu will find a trip advisor page for the wandsworth restaurant

I ordered beef ribs and chips with loaded potato skins and a full rack of ribs . Delicious was an understatement. Really tasty food attentive staff and a nice buzzing atmosphere

We bought a voucher @wowcher.com for a dinner for 2. We came on a monday evening to the one located at Aldgate. There was barely anyone in the restaurant. We have been refused to use the voucher as among the manager Ali, we couldn’t use it on a monday. Among him only because nothing relates to this on the voucher. What kind of restaurant refuse you access when it is mostly empty? What a commercial sense of business? I would not recommend this place at all.

Well years ago, were talking 30 years ago, there was a one off Chicago rib shack, near Harrods, in a basement. They did amazing cocktails and ribs to die for. It was heaving every night. Sadly it closed, forward 30 years and there are Chicago rib shacks popping up all over London. So I took advantage when I saw a deal. 3 courses plus drink, etc, you know the type of deal. Ill re write the menu that I chose, I am prob helping the restaurant here in case they need to update the menu.....

First visit but will not be our last. Beautifully cooked meat, VERY TASTY RIBS , delicious puddings, AND A good range of drinks. The atmosphere is just right, music and fantastic, attentive service from the staff members. i will return

I’ve been here a few times now but my recent visit makes me not want to return.

Walked past it loads of times but thought would give it a try...I wish I hadn't bothered! The service was quite slow and very poor. I ordered a burger and fries. My friend's food and my burger arrived but no fries. Took an age to grab waitresses attention to say my fries hadn't arrived. She swaned off and never paid the lightest bit of attention. After we had finished our food she came back and asked if I got my fries. I said no and all I got was a 'sorry about that'. Considering this was the same person who took the order, brought the food and had earlier been told I was still waiting on my fries, she should have ensured they came. It was obvious she missed them off the first order and then couldn't care less thereafter.

staff couldn't make a cocktail, took 20 minutes to tell me the bar couldn't make the drink and then a further 20 to make a portion of chips, the restaurant was out of beef at 6.30 on a Saturday night, when bringing this information to the manager, he said they were so busy they ran out ( there were three people in the restaurant) he actually refused to apologise which i found appauling. absolutely disgusted with the service. the food is nice if your willing for the most disgraceful staff to serve it to you unfortunately.

Anyone thinking of going to @ChicagoRibShack in Wandsworth I’d strongly advised you seriously think about it before doing so.

This was my second visit to the Chicago Rib Shack in Southside, Wandsworth.

Went there with some friends today, and the staff are very welcoming, didn’t try the food we only had a few classic cocktails which were amazing, and the Spanish speaking bartender was very friendly and funny, I’d definitely go back or recommend it to anyone

If you are in a hurry, they will make your day. The burgers are really tasty!! and the staff is quite friendly.

We went for our daughters birthday and was even better than we expected. The food was just fine, but the service was absolutly amazing.

The ribs were good, as usual, and the service was first rate. The place is a bit noisy and, if there is air conditioning it was overwhelmed by its task on the day we visited. Overall...recommended.

I chose the St Louis ribs. OMG!!! Loads of meat, delicious bbq sauce and fell off the bone. Outstanding value, only £10! The spicy slaw was excellent also, if you are having fries share them as your main course is a big portion.

I went with my boyfriend for his 23rd birthday and I was definitely very happy with it! It has very cool decor and is so close to Clapham North tube station. I bought us the Wowcher deal and I must say it was amazing value for money! The food is delicious and the cocktails are great! If you want to try something new then give the deep fried Oreos a go for dessert but make sure to share as they are VERY sickly!!!

My friend and I saw that this place was open until 23:00 on its website, so went to try it out. We arrived at 22:10 but were refused service by the waitress, on the grounds that business was bad. This despite the fact that the doors were open, the lights were on, the menus were still outside, etc.

Después de estar sentados ninguno tomó nuestra orden en más de 10 / 15 minutos, incluso pedirle a alguien y ella simplemente andando. Las camareras eran verdaderamente, desmotivar y en este punto yo quería ir a otro sitio, pero mi novio tenía hambre, así que decidimos quedarnos! (Gran error).

Been to the Clapham one a few times and has always been great. Wandsworth was the complete opposite. The ribs were the worst I’ve had from anywhere , tough, weird taste and no sauce on them at all. The manager kindly left our very helpful waitress to deal with it and didn’t even bother to come over to us to see what our problem was. There were two other tables while we were there also complaining. Also had an email to say I got a free lager with my ribs as it was Father’s Day but they don’t have draught and only one option of bottled. Won’t return, probably won’t last long anyway.

We visited the CRS in Clapham as a family treat - we're not from London so made a special trip to visit as we used to love this restaurant when it was based in Knightsbridge in the 80s.

Went on a Groupon deal. Of the cocktails offered that we had, both were great. The starters and mains were mediocre but the lemon sorbet was amazing.

Chicago Rib shack is normally a family favourite, I have brought my kids here several times and they always enjoy it. For my birthday my husband wanted to take me out. I was in the mood for ribs so suggested we go to Rib Shack. I wish we had gone somewhere else. Like I said we have been here several times and the service has always been great. Unfortunately tonight we had a terrible waiter named Alyn. When we ordered drinks my husband said what drink do you have for someone celebrating a birthday? The waiter just stared at him blankly. Then it took ages to take our order. We asked for wipes ,Alyn seemed irritated by this, and informed us there were no wipes and he would give us finger bowls. He came back with one bowl ,dumped it on the table without a word. This is not the service we are used to at this restaurant. It turned what was meant to be a lovely birthday meal into a sour experience. We won't be returning.

Cool vibe, tasty food and friendly staff. If you want to eat somewhere that will deliver on filling you up, I suggest you stop by this rib shack!

Always delivers a fun evening thanks to the great staff. Food is OK but nothing special. If you are going to specialise in ribs then they need to be the best around. Unfortunatly these are not always brilliant. Still it's reasonably priced. Would prefer to pay a bit more and the quality to be better.

Back to a Chicago Rib Shack for the first time for 20 years and still the onion loaf is awesome 👏 nice fun place great staff...try it you will not be disappointed.

Service was brilliant and food was amazing. Buttermilk chicken was succulent and utterly delicious and the burgers and fries were cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend!

Great service and great food. Had a wowcher voucher which we redeemed. Particularly liked the chicken wings. Would return again any day.

We went there for a friend birthday , the waitress was very welcoming and happy to help .

What a waste of cheese. It tastes slimy, lacks flavour and I’m pretty sure I’ve had better in primary school!

Vonden dit restaurant bij toeval toen we op zoek waren naar iets. We hadden zin in vlees dus was de keuze snel gemaakt. De service was goed. Met name de floormanager deed erg zijn best om het iedereen naar zin zin te maken. Wij gingen voor de ribeye steak en de beef ribs. We waren er toevallig met Happy Hour dus kregen we 2 mojito's terwijl we er eentje hadden besteld.

We decided to try this outlet for a change and ordered the beef ribs and the rib rack.

I was amazed how good the services at this restaurant. We are the first people to try their festive menu. The sever look after the little girl I was with. The quality of the meat was really tender. I will definitely come back again.

Me and my family went last night for the first time we tried Mac cheese balls deep fried delicious its a must. I had the 10 oz steak pepper sauce sweet potatoes fries and side salad Cole saw so tasty enjoy every bit cleaned the plate. This place i is amazing great service good food music friendly service outstanding.

Went to to the restaurant with my partner and parents. We enjoyed our meals especially the starters and baby back ribs! The service was outstanding! Carlos ensured that we were talen care of from arrival until we left. Thanks Carlos!!

I originally wrote a review a week ago. Tripadvisor took 2 days to publish it and then it was removed after another two days. Obviously the owners complained and managed to find a couple of not so politically correct comments on which basis it was pulled. Of course at the time I was very very upset with one of the worst culinary experiences I have ever had so understandably I was quite emotional although still factually accurate.However I am sure that Tripadvisor want future customers to be protected from such an insult to the senses in every possible way that this restaurant provides. Wife even threw up the same evening after complaining the food left her feeling uneasy and has made it perfectly clear that if in any parallel universe I were ever to suggest trying it again then she's leaving with the baby.The owners of this restaurant have obviously paid to be allowed to use the most famous name in American rib dining in London. It originally occupied the site Zuma is now enjoying opposite Harrods at the back of a square. It cut a perfect balance between Big Easy on Kings Road which is superb apart from glacially slow service and the brilliant Goodmans in Mayfair. Superb food, big portions and they championed giving customers bibs to wear assuming they were going to get their hands dirty as indeed many happily did.For some reason it closed down and a few years later another much more down market place opened round the corner next the famous Mr Chow restaurant which had more of a pack em and stack em and America diner approach but still kept 75% of the quality and importantly the famous onion loaf which it kept faithful to the original. Now, it was below par with Big Easy so bottom of the three but still worth a visit. Eventually it closed .Now. Oh Dear.I excitedly saw that Chicago Ribshack had opened in Clapham and Aldgate. Decent locations for a good quality restaurant so my hopes were up. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt when it took 48 hours to answer an email and longer than that for the second so I had to call them up. But yes. They did still have the same original recipe onion loaf so red rag to a bull, wafer thin mint to the undecided I had to give it at try.What a disaster. We walked into what appeared to be a cheap local diner. With faux bravado I reassured my wife that this was a legend with the amazing onion loaf I had been telling her about.The restaurant was half full on a Sunday lunchtime which also did not bode well.Service was very very very slow. The manager who apparently was called Attillah walked around expressionlessly without any sense of being the main face of the restaurant or indeed caring about his customers. For instance when the starters arrived he literally threw them on the table and walked away deaf to my protests that he had got the order wrong. I had to get up and find his deputy as he disappeared.The only positive point was my wife's passion fruit Mojito but I had to ask three times even going up to the bar to remind them.I am a mild mannered man -no really I am- but the attitude of the staff, the quality of the food, the relatively high prices had me incensed. It was clear that Take Away business was where they really made their money so all the rest of the customers sitting in had to wait their turn. The high turnover fast food aspect was only emphasised by the minimum wage (probably) chefs who were the only staff members seeming to be having a good time frequently brandishing vacuum packed plastic wrapped ribs in the air . Nothing wrong with being vacuum packed but this is not the way to present authentic BBQ style cuisine to the public . Is it.The ribs themselves were barely edible. Not much meat on them, no sense of having been freshly BBQd, and mine looked worryingly pink inside. I was so hungry I ate them thinking a really should not have. My wife vomited later that night.Not only were they slow but they completely forgot about my son's order altogether. I got up and spoke directly with the chefs and the food arrived in a couple of minutes. This of course emphasises how much the TakeAway was delaying our food.The only time we recieved any kind of service was when I told them (note I did not threaten, I said it was going to happen) that I was going to give Atillah a terrible review. Then we got his deputy (who was in all fairness a bit nicer but still soooo slow) and Atillah coming to our table 'seeing how things were' and we were given a free Mojito.Atillah was so off the planet that he later asked me on what grounds I was removing the service charge from the bill. He then complained about the owners saying that they were not good at all. Really? You say that to a customer? I could have guessed about the owners ....somehow.So. To summarise:The owners are using a famous name with its glittering reputation to bring custom into what amounts to a culinary crime, a fetid sin on the fading wake of a legend.This is not the way to honour the name and if there were culinary police they would beimmediately arrested, thrown in an empty pantry overnight and sent to cookery class, customer service lessons and an ethics course.This your honours is my honest review of this establishment. Enter at your peril.

Went as a family for Sunday night dinner. Great kids meals and milkshakes. Adults had chicken , ribs and pork belly all really tasty and well cooked. Staff excellent

We booked for 13 for a 50th meal relatives coming from Manchester and Brighton for the occasion. We phoned x2 and called in to confirm the booking to add 3 further people we were told it was all fine. We arrived to find a private party in full swing! It was totally embarrassing infont of family who had travelled a long way for one evening. They were not helpful at all. They apologised but it certainly didn't help with 16 people hoping to eat on a Saturday night!! How many times do you need to confirm??!!

We eat here every couple of weeks. Menu is as expected, a take on US style big meat restaurants. But everything seems better and 'cleaner' than is often the car in those places where quality is often sacrificed for quantity. Service is always really friendly and good. That's what keeps us going back. Prices are fair.

Had a lovely meal with my boyfriend and son, our host for the night was friendly and ensured my 2 year old son was kept entertained. Food was quick, fresh and hot. Staff full of smiles which was reassuring. As for Gabriel he made sure he went above and beyond to make sure we was kept happy! Thank you soo much for the pig! Keep up the good work, we will definitely be coming back soon!

Despite offering a 15% student discount on food all day every day i was denied the discount because it was Sunday. After another staff member intervened they decided to give a very generous £2 discount off of a £82 bill ! They also had no ice cream which meant that the kids had to go without milk shakes or deserts.

Fantastic family MealFantastic service we was served by a blonde lady who was so quick as it was especially busy and there was 6 of us ordering lots.We was regular customers at Knightsbridge so was a little unsure if it would be the same and it did not disappoint we was so happy that Onion Loaf was still on the menu :)
