Great service. Good food. Very friendly! We enjoyed our time each day we were there. We hope to go back and would highly recommend.

We had the pleasure of meeting Sanda who was our server for breakfast at Gilroys. She went over and above to make us feel like individuals she was so welcoming and friendly. The quality of food is excellent and the breakfast menu offers a good variety of options. Breakfast can be enjoyed whilst overlooking the Thames which adds to the experience but without doubt its the friendliness of the staff that make the difference and are the star quality here.

The staff is wonderful at the County Hall property including Gillray's. All the meals and snacks we had were great and served with high level of politeness and professionism.

I have a wonderful breakfast time in the restaurant. The waitress named Sanda, was patient and helped me a lot, much appreciated.

Should lean-in to its 60's decor and go groovy jazz - the menu was great, the wines were good and the staff were fantastic but the ambience was lacking and I felt it took itself a bit too seriously. Ended up feeling a bit like eating at a hotel restaurant, which it technically is. Where is the Gillray's character?

Really disappointing food, very salty and over cooked signature burgers. Limited menu

Lobster was pretty good; ribeye steak was OK at best. Disappointing for somewhere that calls themselves a Steakhouse. Service was extremely poor; our waiter seemed like he was in a bad mood/borderline rude from the minute he brought water to the table. It took 45 minutes to get our food, and all we ordered was steak, half lobster, and 2 sides. Probably would not bother coming here again, unfortunately.

Had a rough journey from NYC to London- went to Gillray’s by chance for dinner and loved it! Had such a great experience we went back x2- even though our hotel was almost a mile away. Our waiter Sarthak was so friendly and warm and made our evening great

Nice place , good atmosphere. Good food and if you like traditional grilled steak I this is it. Some of my company doesn’t like it.As it got a strong smoked.

The view was really nice. You can see London eye from certain angle. Steak was quite disappointing though. I asked for medium rare. But it came out as medium well or even well done at the edge. For a steakhouse, this was really disappointing. And no one bothered to ask how’s the food. Service was not there too, couldn’t even recommend for any signature dishes. Price was quite expensive too. £100 for one person. Anyway, won’t go again for sure.

A very disappointing meal. Restaurant with nice atmosphere. Ordered a medium rare filet received a medium well steak. Just by looking at the steak the chef should have known it was overcooked. Second steak was perfectly cooked. Rest of meal was average. Took 15+ minutes for replacement steak. Service was VERY slow.

The location is on the first floor of the Marriott Hotel. The advantage is that it is close to Big Ben and the London Eye. It is very convenient for tourists. You can drink coffee here, but the food is terrible and the desserts are not delicious.

Food and service were great. Our server Lidya was very attentive and provided fantastic service. One in our party had a birthday today and upon hearing it, Lidya surprised us with a lovely birthday celebration pastry and berry dessert.

The service and food at the Gillray’s is next level. The staff are welcoming, professional and go out of their way to make you have the best possible experience. Thank you to everyone we have met along the way, Rami, Laura and Jazz (to name a few) you are all amazing!

Another visit another beautiful breakfast. Nick the Chef never fails, and Sanda is the best, nothing is ever too much trouble for her. She goes out of her way everytime. I would definitely recommend dining here.

Even though the tip was included in the menu price, I faked it and took a double tip. This is a scam. In addition, I ordered medium rare, but it was the worst service, coming out medium.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Fish & Chips at Gilray’s. Friendly service too.

The waiters were nice and patient despite the manager being quite cold and inconsiderate. We booked a hotel room for a few nights and made a reservation to eat at this steakhouse. When we arrived we were told that somebody had taken our seat and to wait. And so we waited and ordered starters and some bar food. A very long hour later, the manager told us that there was finally a table for four but that we could not bring the starters we ordered in. Eventually we managed to and ordered our mains. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. For 2 straight hours and our food was never served. When we questioned the waiter, they went in and found out that our food, though ordered had never even been made. Worst service I have ever seen. 2 hours we waited for our food, and we still left with empty stomachs. The table beside us came even earlier and when we left in anger, their food still had not arrived and they were still waiting. The starters were average as well. The hotel room was not much better, we booked a room beside the river and what did we get, a view of concrete walls and a literal rubbish dump. Horrible, horrible, horrible. If I could have given 0 stars, heck even negative stars, I wholeheartedly and definitely would. This post is a warning for those who want to eat at this restaurant. You can find much cheaper and better food elsewhere. The only bright spot was that the amazing waitress took the effort to figure out our room number and brought us the food. The steak was great, burger was exquisite and the lobster was some of the freshest. Huge props to the waitress and I hope that in the next promotion of staff, the hotel will consider the kind heart and considerate actions of this superhero. I have yet to get her name but will try to do so tomorrow. For those who want to visit this hotel, you are much better off going to Hilton Paddington which we previously visited.

The food was amazing my only concern is that those couches are way too big and very much not comfortable relevant to the tiny little circle tables .I was rather disappointed that they didn’t have my favourite cocktail at a fancy place like that

The food was amazing! Extremely succulent T-bone steak, there was one lovely female waiter but the wait times for food and for attentiveness, when it wasn’t her, was poor. They do gluten free bread which was great. Otherwise stunning venue.

We stayed at the hotel and breakfast at gillray’s was easy and delicious. It was especially lovely because we had the same waitress, Sanda, each day. She went out of her way to be greet us everyday and bring us our favorite treats. Thank you Sanda, you helped make our trip so memorable

So this Saturday, April 12th, I was at the restaurant when one of the servers asked a family with a child to leave the restaurant, because the child looked to be 1 year old and cried, I was a mother of three and I thought it was unnecessary on the part of the restaurant, If they don't accept crying children, let the parents know when they enter, not after they're eating, tell them to leave, this is a lack of respect for parents, if anyone is interested in going to the restaurant, don't go with children because they will be expelled

A lovely experience as I attempt to gently and gracefully ease my way back into dining out. Absolutely relaxed, unpretentious hospitality and atmosphere. The Luxurious architecture, inside and out, complements the restaurants widow views, of Westminster, parliament and the River Thames. brilliance all round. I don't recommend this place for those who have children. Today I saw them ask a couple to leave with a baby because it was bothering the other customers and only came back when the baby was calm, but the baby still didn't know how to speak so she only made normal noises of a baby. I found it disrespectful and rude to the couple. Unfortunately I think people have lost empathy with others, today maybe these parents were simply trying to have a good day and unfortunately felt excluded by the establishment. I hope they are more understanding and empathy with the next parents.

This is our fifth day at the Marriott County Hall in London. Gilray’s is a fantastic restaurant attached to the hotel. Every morning we’ve had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Gilray’s. They have an extensive menu with great fruit, pastries, and egg dishes. Great coffee too. What really makes this restaurant is the service, from the hostess to the servers. A big shout out and thank you to Sanda, our amazing and attentive server who has taken care of us each morning with impeccable and friendly service.

Mediocre. Honestly do not know why this place is so highly rated. The food was mediocre, my rare £50 steak was well done!. The wine list poor. Cocktails pretty bland and the service incredibly slow. I would never go back. If you want a good steak, amazing service and fantastic wine then the Hawksmoor every time. We only went here just to try something new.

Nice setting overlooking the UK Parliament. Service was a bit slow but the steak - we opted for the T-bone - was cooked to perfection and very succulent. Reasonable value for money too.

The place is amazing, the view is incredible you can eat with the river view and the Big Ben as a background but the food quality is not the best, I asked for lobster and they have on the menu but they don’t have lobster, the meet was not bad but it was not good.

Great environment and service. Praveen was the most helpful and knowledgeable about gluten free and dietary. He was also very helpfull with wine selection. I 100% suggest this place for dinner, with a good view and remarkable service.

A beautiful space with amazing atmosphere. Best to make a reservation to avoid any awkward interactions at the entrance. The bar was excellent with an amazing barman giving top level service while I waited for my table. I had the dry aged rib eye and grilled lobster, both were remarkable. So so bad, go somewhere else. We waited over two hours for food, which is absolutely ridiculous seeing as the restaurant was half empty. The food was mediocre, the sides were mostly oil and salt rather than actual seasoned food. You can enjoy the same view for free right outside. Here, it seems that you are paying for their rent, not for the food. All 7 of our steaks were so tough that none of us finished our food. We did not come to this overpriced restaurant to be served worse steaks than they give to dogs!!! The only saving Grace was our lovely, patient and understanding waitress who made the experience less hellish. Very grateful to her! I do not recommend, there are many much better places within walking distance that charge less money for far better quality food.

The visit to GrillRay’s restaurant left me disappointed. On a positive note, the Filet Steak and grilled lobster were enjoyable, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, I ordered and finished the beef tartare alone due to hunger, even though it wasn't very tasty. However, the chocolate sundae ice cream could have been better, and it was served without a red cherry on top. After leaving the restaurant, it took half an hour to reach home. Luckily, I started feeling unwell after arriving home, not in the car, with food poisoning symptoms like vomiting and stomach pain for many hours. I had a fever without medicine until the next day evening, prompting me to seek medical help.

Came for a celebration lunch with a large group of family members ranging from 2 to 76 years old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Food was lovely, service was very good (Khatuna was our waitress) and we even got a rare group photo afterwards at the main entrance by a member of staff who happened to be walking past us taking photos. It is also a secret oasis away from the tourist madness outside!

The restaurant was horrible service and the lady rolled her eyes when we asked about what type of steak it was. Made us very uncomfortable and we cancelled the order and left. Do not go here. I do not recommend. Hemat Gave the water free. Not bad. Still do not recommend .

Please note, this experience was in January of 2019. This was for lunch, just after 11. Nice place, good decor. The waitress was from Georgia and very kind. I ordered a steak with truffle chips. The steak was cooked perfectly, had a good sear, and the flavor was good. I got 3 bites into it, and found a human hair under the steak. It was rather thick, black, and about 4cm long. I told the waitress, and she went to get someone, I assume from the kitchen. A person came from the back and without saying anything, quickly cleared my table, including the chips I was eating. I said I'm happy to eat these, but they said no, we have to take everything. Fifteen minutes later, I got what was the same steak, but now it was overcooked and seemed like it was boiled. I think someone said it was undercooked instead of saying "There is a huge black hair on the steak". I did get chips back, but they were smaller almost like fries, and they were saturated with truffle oil to the point of being inedible. I got ready to leave, and someone came out that I think was the manager, and was watching me put on my coat. He asked how everything was. I told him the steak was overcooked and boiled with no color on it, and the fries are almost clear from being soaked in oil. His reply was that "this just isn't your day for food" and "better luck next time". I paid £55 just to know where to never go again. I gave 2 stars for food because of the initial taste, they have it in them to do it well, but the communication and lack of hair nets made it a bad experience.

Great place with amazing views over the river. The food was amazing and the staff were amazing. Its located up a staircase next to the London Aquarium. We visited lunchtime on a Saturday and it was really quiet.

Stoped in ..: empty restaurant. 30 to 40 minutes wait for a table still empty when we left. Bar in front of restaurant is very nice. Piano player nice atmosphere. Finally seated after 30 minutes Ordered the Ribeye it was a skinny cut and flavorless. Sides ok. Service slow as molasses.

We had reserved the London eye and got there a couple of hours earlier. Westiminster was crowded and we were frustrated . This restaurant was a hidden gem ! We were lucky enough to be seated without a reservation. The food was nice, the service friendly and the ambience wonderful . The lavatory was immaculately clean. To cut the long story short this restaurant saved our day ! I would definitely suggest it for lunch/dinner or just beverages since there is such an option.

Rip off tourist trap pricing. I had the misfortune to pop in today whilst waiting for a tourist friend who was stuck inside “Shrek Adventures”. I thought I’d grab a beer at the bar and ordered a half pint of draft pale ale, for which the bill was a staggering £6.70 (plus 12.5% service). A full pint was apparently only £1 more, but of course that wasn’t mentioned.

Reservé para la cena de Navidad y todo muy bien, pero la comida no es exquisita y no cuentan con aire climatizado por lo que hacía demasiado calor y era temporada invernal, por lo que tuve que quitarme la ropa térmica y suéter en el baño, me quedé únicamente con una playera delgada y un suéter medio elegante por la ocasión. El precio es accesible como turista y la vista del lugar y hotel son muy bonitas para unas buenas fotos que puedes subirlas en redes sociales.

Came here for the Christmas lunch. Great food and even better service. My 2 year old son had a free meal and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Gifts from Santa and even the reception staff was such a nice touch! We had a great time and Christmas decor was stunning 🤩

Decided to try Gillray's for Xmas dinner 2023. Steak was cold, sides were cold, desserts were okay- all for £130 each plus drinks and a mandatory 12.5% service fee. Most of the price is for location, not the food. Take your money elsewhere.

Food just not very good. Prefer the greasy spoon in Waterloo but 1/10th of the price. Lovely staff however.

Honestly barely leave reviews but this was a terrible experience. We arrived at 7:15 and didn't get offered a drink until 8, drinks took another 30m to come (so an hour and 15 sat at the table before anything arrived!) We ordered starters and mains and there was another 30 minute gap between starters ending and mains coming. I was told they don't do burgers medium because it's safer for me so they're all well done(?), no-one offered drinks again or checked on us. We were a table of 8 which isn't a massive cover and had £84 added as a service. I have never removed a tip in a place before but this was absolutely ridiculous for a place charging the prices they do.

Eigentlich 0 Sterne das schlechteste Essen in meinem Leben! Ich und meine beiden Kinder hatten uns auf ein schönes 5 Sterne Hotel würdiges essen gefreut. Mit Ausnahme des Servicepersonal war alles schlecht und völlig überzogene Preise. Wir haben jeweils ein Filetsteak in Medium rare bestellt. Eins davon wurde sogar als besonderes Rind angeboten. Leider wurden alle welldone und schon fast kalt nach über einer Stunde an den Tisch geliefert. Das etwa Hamburger Patty große Fleischstück wurde lieblos in der Mitte der Teller mit einem Zahnstocher platziert. Bei weiten nicht vergleichbar mit den Werbebilder. Von drei verschiedenen Saucen, war die Sauce béarnaise ungenießbar, die Pfeffersauce bestand aus exakt zwei Pfefferkörner und einer undefinierbaren Sauce, die Wein Sauce konnte man essen. Das Messerbesteck wurde auch nicht ausgetauscht. Man musste sich aus einer Art Zigarrenbox ein Messer aussuchen . Für mich hatte es den Anschein das Sie alle verfügbaren Messer aus der Küche in dieser Box drapiert hatten . Um das hier jetzt mal abzukürzen. Das Essen im allgemein war sehr sehr schlecht bis ungenießbar. Hinzu kommt dann auch noch der stattliche Preis von 100 Pfund pro Person= 300Pfund entspricht etwa 360 Euro und das für schlechtes Essen. Drei sagen wir mal "Fleischstücke", ein Minisalat, einmal Minikartoffel, ein Schälchen Blumenkohl, 2 Cola, ein Bier , eine Flasche Wasser. Fazit nie wieder. Das Essen der Straßenverkäufer an der Themse wäre dagegen ein Sterneessen gewesen. Datum 2023-12-15 Leider kommt das ganze Hotel nicht besser weg. Ich werde das Hotel extra bewerten.

I booked this place for my wife’s 50th and I was underwhelmed. My first impressions were the furniture has seen better days. The chair was wobbly and material was worn. To the food, starters were mushroom soup but the waiter served myself first and a short while later the wife second. I was always under the impression that is the wrong way round?! For mains we shared the Wagyu cote de boeuf but it was served on its own on a massive plate which didn’t look great. The chips we had as a side were covered in salt. I always believe you can always add more salt but you can’t take it away! On a positive note, the wine, chateau teyssier was superb I’ll be definitely buying a few bottles for home. Also, the desserts, chocolate sundae and apple tart were lovely. I had informed them that it was the wife’s birthday but nothing was done to make it more special. I’m afraid I won’t be coming here again.

Śmiało mogę przyznać, że stek zjedzony tutaj jest u mnie w Top 3. Z uwagi na to, że niestety nie pamiętam numeru 1…( 😄) to ten ląduje na pierwszym miejscu. Dodatkowo zamówiony tatar był w porządku, ale jakoś specjalnie nie porywa. Miejsce klimatyczne, z muzyką graną na żywo 👌

Ate here with our children today. Food was ok but the service was very strange and we were made to feel like we shouldn’t be there. Maybe because we had kids not sure but we eat at fine dining all the time where we’re from and no one bars and eyelid. Felt lots of judgment and felt others were being served a lot better than us. Wouldn’t go back as my husband asked for a medium rare steak and it was well done and my eye fillet wasn’t the best cut as it was quite chewy.

very disappointing! - limited options for eating due to needing to eat relatively early before going to theatre and it being a Tuesday evening. could have looked further afield but did not want to travel about. should have paid more attention to the other reviews. it is a hotel restaurant so they have somewhat of a captive audience. the location is great with many tables looking directly out onto the Thames, however, at night the reflection of the multicoloured outside lights mean you can see very little. staff are friendly and plentiful. food is bordering on awful, especially at the price they charge. i had read one review that put this place up against other steak houses like Hawksmoor, i can only think they had been bribed. i went for the wagu cross ribeye - too thin to be cooked properly, too small, and for wagu, i can only assume it was crossed with a donkey. my wife had the wagu burger, this was very similar but not quite as good as the Aldi i have tried at home. i am willing to pay the silly prices that many UK "high end" restaurants charge. i appreciate that the cost of running a good restaurant is expensive. what i do not like is places charging the high price but making no attempt to serve great food. it's either pretentious, style over substance (see my experience at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons) or, like this place, just a way of obtaining money without any attempt at serving good food.

Beautiful restaurant interior, nice food and good drinks. Cheeky view over London Eye, definitely a good spot.

Had a cocktail in the bar before dinner. Great views with a pianist. We enjoyed the set menu. Service was fantastic and the dining room was spacious with a great view. Toilets are close to the restaurant.
