We’ve stayed at the London County Hall Marriott 4 times in the last 12 months and one of the reasons is the breakfast at Gillrays. It’s remarkable how Sanda can remember us and what we like to order. Little touches like this make the biggest difference when you travel and it’s such a treat to be taken care of by her so well.

Being part of Marriott hotel, I was expecting the food to be really nice but it was very disappointing. I had the caesar salad with steak. I was expecting the steak pieces to still be warm but the whole dish was cold. I chose it thinking it was an original cesar salad (steak instead of chicken) but it turned out to be boring and bland. For dessert, I chose the pple upside down cake which was a mediocre version of a tarte tatin. Poor quality in cooking for the price paid! The restaurant itself is nice though. It was quiet for a Saturday lunch time, but I guess it does not have a good reputation for food, so it stays quiet. The bar space at the entrance of the restaurant seems nice. The waiting personnel are nice enough. We were a bit confused as they came with a wooden display box with several steak knives. I am not familiar with the difference between steak knives so I randomly picked one. The waiter did not advise whether that was all that was required or if there are specific "rules" to pick the right one for your specific steak... Anyway, will not return and will not recommend.

This commercial steakhouse at the base of the London Eye offers gorgeous, high-end ambiance, but unfortunately, the steak was underwhelming. The steak was hot, but the plate was cold—a basic misstep for a high-end restaurant. While the restaurant wasn’t busy, the staff was inattentive. I had to go up and retrieve my own dessert, which had been left sitting for about 10 minutes. Overall, it was a decent experience, mainly thanks to the location and stunning views. My advice: skip the steak and just enjoy a cocktail.

Our family stayed at the London, Marriott County Hall Dec,20-22 , The look and feel of the hotel is just stylish. The lobby had very nice Christmas charm ,the rooms were very nice and comfortable, but what really made the trip special was the excellent service we received from one of the restaurant staff named Sanda,she was very approachable, always with a warm welcoming smile. She took care of all our requests with no problem .She was able to answer all of our questions we had about the menu She definitely made this a trip to remember by providing awesome customer service to me and my family

Its SCAM from restaurant inside Harriott hotel 🙄the advertise show 15 £steak&ship but in real we have to pay steak 200g no saus and not things for 41£ and we didn't saw in manu have 15 £for steak , No I had 1/2 robster gill 29£ and that is all ! no saus , no things Is was changing the team from around 3.30 -4 pm The first nice asie girl waitress and another waiters did not work so well like the name of Marriott hotel ! I thouth how its possible that employee just come working hier without trainning !!!! She didn't tell of try to sell us that steak and robster is not inclouding chips or saus and salad. We arrived at 7:30 for what should have been a lovely get together for 3 families before Christmas. We were a party of 12 with 5 children. From arriving to receiving any food took 1 hour 45 mins. We weren’t even offered any bread while waiting and had to request at least something for the children to snack on. Getting drinks and condiments was just as painful. Things when from bad to worse when I spoke to the manager, who escalated the situation by saying “I’m sorry you feel that way” rather than acknowledging that the service was poor, and they needed to do better. Our evening was ruined by terrible service and chippy staff who exacerbated the situation. We left tired and stressed by the encounter.

We had little kids with us who were falling asleep it took so long. The food when it arrived was fine but for the prices they charge this should have been much much better. Go somewhere else.

I was hungry so I ate half of it whereas my partner didn't. Chips are horrible. Could see the oil dripping from them. When told about the concern, the staff suggested that he would cook our half eaten steak and bring!!!! I mean that's a horrible advice. The guy at the reception was quite warm and friendly but the one who served us doesn't know the meaning of hospitality. Would never recommend!!

Came to Gillray’s for lunch because I saw a sign for £15 steak and chips and it was totally worth it! The ambiance of the restaurant is fabulous and the views are lovely. The service I had was outstanding as well and then my steak and chips were delicious. Very happy to discover it on my walk and would highly recommend it.

Staff in bar so badly trained. Our waiter didn't understand what corked champagne was. Took about 15 minutes to get our first drink and that came in 3 stages, with reminders for each time he got it wrong. Food overcooked, dull and very expensive for what it was. You expect expense in a hotel but at least serve good quality food and do it well. Good views. Great building. Nice loos.

Hi, Grillray‘s is Marriott‘s in-house steak restaurant at the County Hall hotel, where also breakfast is offered. We stayed 3 nights as a family. Every one was super nice, especially with the kids that had to cope with adjustments to food. Especially of great help was Sanda to make kids feel comfortable. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, will come back again and do highly recommend it for quality of food, Thames view and foremost friendly staff. Best regards

Steaks were cooked perfectly (medium rare & medium), sauce had a lot of flavor and sides were good. The service at this restaurant was top notch. Plenty of beverage offerings but we stuck to sparking and still water. Would definitely recommend eating here. Great cozy atmosphere and tables were spaced out enough to give privacy if needed.

I stayed at the hotel and the hotel side experience was great but the three times I went to Gillray's for drinks, Breakfast and then dinner were all bad experiences. The food was good but the service was something to be desired. At breakfast the only time anyone came by to check on us was when we first sat down and ordered. I waited way to long for a coffee that I had to ask for three times. For dinner I ordered Fish and Chips and an IPA. My dinner came but I never got my beer so I asked and they said they would check. Half way through dinner I was told the keg was being switched and that was the reason for the delay. After dinner I asked what was going on, again they said they would check. they came back and said they are all out of the IPA and gave me a pilsner. Also, after all that you get charged service fees. Stay out of Gillray's, there are plenty of places you can go to instead, we found most of them on the other side of the river, or you can go to the Between the Bridges.

The staff is very friendly and of good quality, the food on the other hand leaves something to be desired! The meat is ordinary, the burgers mediocre and the side dishes really not great! Only a sauce was worthy of such a place and such a note. At this price it’s more than a shame… I must admit that during our visit to London this opinion could be left to each of the restaurants visited… English cuisine has not stolen its reputation!

Was really excited about this steakhouse, the reviews seemed great. I got chicken wings to start and they were amazing. No doubt. But I got the Sirloin steak for mains wasn’t great at all, temperature was off my steak was cold, sides weren’t. It was 60% fat for the price. I was also giving Cutlery that was dirty, with food still on it. Would off preferred to go elsewhere

Lobster was pretty good; ribeye steak was OK at best. Disappointing for somewhere that calls themselves a Steakhouse. Service was extremely poor; our waiter seemed like he was in a bad mood/borderline rude from the minute he brought water to the table. It took 45 minutes to get our food, and all we ordered was steak, half lobster, and 2 sides. Probably would not bother coming here again, unfortunately.

The view was really nice. You can see London eye from certain angle. Steak was quite disappointing though. I asked for medium rare. But it came out as medium well or even well done at the edge. For a steakhouse, this was really disappointing. And no one bothered to ask how’s the food. Service was not there too, couldn’t even recommend for any signature dishes. Price was quite expensive too. £100 for one person. Anyway, won’t go again for sure.

The location is on the first floor of the Marriott Hotel. The advantage is that it is close to Big Ben and the London Eye. It is very convenient for tourists. You can drink coffee here, but the food is terrible and the desserts are not delicious.

The waiters were nice and patient despite the manager being quite cold and inconsiderate. We booked a hotel room for a few nights and made a reservation to eat at this steakhouse. When we arrived we were told that somebody had taken our seat and to wait. And so we waited and ordered starters and some bar food. A very long hour later, the manager told us that there was finally a table for four but that we could not bring the starters we ordered in. Eventually we managed to and ordered our mains. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. For 2 straight hours and our food was never served. When we questioned the waiter, they went in and found out that our food, though ordered had never even been made. Worst service I have ever seen. 2 hours we waited for our food, and we still left with empty stomachs. The table beside us came even earlier and when we left in anger, their food still had not arrived and they were still waiting. The starters were average as well. The hotel room was not much better, we booked a room beside the river and what did we get, a view of concrete walls and a literal rubbish dump. Horrible, horrible, horrible. If I could have given 0 stars, heck even negative stars, I wholeheartedly and definitely would. This post is a warning for those who want to eat at this restaurant. You can find much cheaper and better food elsewhere. The only bright spot was that the amazing waitress took the effort to figure out our room number and brought us the food. The steak was great, burger was exquisite and the lobster was some of the freshest. Huge props to the waitress and I hope that in the next promotion of staff, the hotel will consider the kind heart and considerate actions of this superhero. I have yet to get her name but will try to do so tomorrow. For those who want to visit this hotel, you are much better off going to Hilton Paddington which we previously visited.

The food was amazing! Extremely succulent T-bone steak, there was one lovely female waiter but the wait times for food and for attentiveness, when it wasn’t her, was poor. They do gluten free bread which was great. Otherwise stunning venue.

We stayed at the hotel and breakfast at gillray’s was easy and delicious. It was especially lovely because we had the same waitress, Sanda, each day. She went out of her way to be greet us everyday and bring us our favorite treats. Thank you Sanda, you helped make our trip so memorable

So this Saturday, April 12th, I was at the restaurant when one of the servers asked a family with a child to leave the restaurant, because the child looked to be 1 year old and cried, I was a mother of three and I thought it was unnecessary on the part of the restaurant, If they don't accept crying children, let the parents know when they enter, not after they're eating, tell them to leave, this is a lack of respect for parents, if anyone is interested in going to the restaurant, don't go with children because they will be expelled

I don't recommend this place for those who have children. Today I saw them ask a couple to leave with a baby because it was bothering the other customers and only came back when the baby was calm, but the baby still didn't know how to speak so she only made normal noises of a baby. I found it disrespectful and rude to the couple. Unfortunately I think people have lost empathy with others, today maybe these parents were simply trying to have a good day and unfortunately felt excluded by the establishment. I hope they are more understanding and empathy with the next parents.

Nice venue, nice staff and good service, but dire Sunday lunch (two Sundays in a row: we'd thought the first must be a one-off bad experience); and given that's what we were there for, we won't be back: chewy slices of beef; very fatty, gristley and 20% inedible lamb; roast potatoes completely uncrisp, big and flabby; undercooked parsnips; Yorkshire pudding dried-out to a crisp; leaving ok carrots and gravy!

Travelled there for 45 mins. It’s says online open till 12am on a Friday. Got there for 9pm ish only for them to tell us they are closed. Need to update closing times

I came here for the ten pound rubs and chips deal which was worse than frozen food. The chips aren't even seasoned. The service is the only saving grace.
