Ordered a meal off just eat from here . It took 2 hour to arrive when it eventually did it was awful. Stone cold, chips dry and inedible and looked like they had been recooked a few times. Ordered 8 popadoms and they were all smashed to bits. Ordered 2 chicken tikka madrases as well as being cold they were vinegary and had very little meat in them. Ordered a tandoori mixed grill , again it was cold , chicken was dry and tough it should have contained king prawns but there were none in it. Ordered a Keenan Naan which should be full of mince meat but there was just a tiny bit at on end of it. I tried to ring the restaurant about this but they had taken their phone off the hook. I’m extremely angry at the meal and am in the process of seeking a refund off just eat. Do not order from here

Fair play...this is, by far the best sit-down + takeaway curry I have EVER had. I regularly have indians and have tried pretty much all of the restaurants in Newport. The service is always first class, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The place is so clean and well organised. Sitting down, the time waiting for our starters and mains to come were no longer than a couple of minutes once we were ready for them and the food itself was to die for. As for a takeaway, you will not be waiting for more than half hour after you order! I highly recommend everyone to try out SPICY KITCHEN...you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much!

What a host, well done Islam the chef and owner he has spent a lot of time and love in this place. The decor is futuristic and very tastefully done. The portion sizes are mammoth and the taste is as authentic as you like. To put it simply please give this place a try, great find at the bottom end of town.

Had 2 sit downs and a take away since finding this restaurant- all excellently! Is this really Newport? Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. All were fresh ingredients - tandoori fish starter to die for.

Great food staff very capable and nice. Slightly small seating area. Looks full, because of the eating area, gets crowded, as not much can be done with, layout.

The.restaurant is absolutely lovely in an oldy worldy pub with a large car park which includes disabled parking. On entering the establishment we were welcomed and shown to our table by an extremely likeable and attentive young man who looked after us throughout our visit and I would say he went above and beyond with his service. We were celebrating a visit of family from New Zealand and friends recommended this venue. Now to the meals, I’m afraid this is where our recommendations must end, the food was poor to say the least and the portions minute, in fact the food looked lost on a dinner plate.. the chips were absolutely awful, dried up, wrinkly and looked and tasted reheated from the day before, these were served in a silver cup, so on the plate was the smallest rump steak I’ve ever seen, it measured approximately 50mm x75mm and half a grilled tomato. I ordered my stake cooked medium it was. Served very well done and tough to chew. The only saving grace were the overpriced deserts which were lovely. I thought everything was overpriced not just the sweets. Would we go again? Definitely not once bitten twice shy I did tip the waiter as he was exceptional

Went as a couple on valentines day, and when we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant (and had a booking) however the waitress directed us to sit on a sofa before we could go to our table, this was just an indicator of how the night was going to go... I'll start with the positives, the food was hot and tasty, and there was a good selection of vegetarian options, I definitely suggest the paneer chilli masala! My vegetable vindaloo was not spicy at all however, which was disappointing. Not the best indian food I have ever eaten, but not the worst... Unfortunately the negatives far outweighed the positives. The service was slow and odd, to say the least. The waitress took our drinks order then proceeded to go and wrap cutlery instead of fetching the drinks, eventually they arrived, followed by our popadoms. Our dirty plates from the popadoms were left with us whilst we ate our starters. A long wait later our main courses arrived. Once we had nearly finished the main courses, the smoke alarm went off. No apologies from any of the staff, and no indication that it was going to be turned off. We asked for the bill, and the only other table asked for their food to takeaway, as there was no indication the deafening noise was going to end. We were then informed there was no card machine, so I had to sit listening to the smoke alarm for ten minutes whilst my partner found a cash point. A little advance warning if this would go a long way! As we walked round to the taxi rank we could still hear the alarm sounding. Overall a weird experience, made worse by the constant alarms and chirping from the bar area, and the deafening smoke alarm at the end! A lack of music in a completely empty restaurant makes for a very uncomfortable experience. If this hadnt been chosen and booked as a valentines treat by my partner I doubt I would have visited, and I cant say that I will visit again, as the food quality did not outweigh the issues listed above.
