Spicy Karahi in Luton

Not a good idea to support this place, they’re happy to have their rubbish dumped in the middle of a path where families are trying to walk their dogs.

My honest opinion…. Basically rubbish food and even worst rubbish service. I asked for a butter chicken, what I got was couple if sry chicken in tomato sauce with stale naan bread. I asked him what was this, he goes “this is how we make it” ok mate, never coming back even if the food was free. Rip off prices!!!

Worst takeaway in Luton. Beware of this takeaway. The time they take to actually make your oder, you can travel the moon and back. Also, the old owner of the takeaway kept ogling females which come to the shop. I am never going back.

Poor service, staff unfriendly, biriyani was dry, gave me the wrong order so many times and to top it off the staff at the front who took my order refused to call me a taxi while my phone battery was flat. there is no option to rate 0 stars so im forced to give them 1 star.

(Dec '22 Update: Had same dish, was so salty it was difficult to eat way way too much salt... Wow.. And they forgot my rice. Seriously guys take it easy with the salt, it's a health hazard!) Had Karai chicken and rice, really well made, beautifully spiced. Recommended.! 😋 🤤

Gone downhill under new management. Ordered chicken tikka biryani and peri peri rice. There is no taste. You can only smell spices. Few pcs of tikka in biryani. Eating from this place over 15 years. But everything has changed now under new management and new chef. Very disappointed. Not ordering from you anymore.

My fav plave in Luton yo go and eat, not many places would give you an onions to kebab meat which is something really nice.

awful meal . ordered a delivery and it arrived with lots of oil leaking in the bag from the donner, so nothing could be touched, took a few bites of the donner and it was disgusting, they call it spicy donner but it tasted like a shoe mate!!! Threw the whole £30 order in the bin. Last time i ever order here

Ordered Naga burger, chops and ribs. Chops and ribs came out dry and burnt. Couldn't eat them and had to throw it away. Burger was ok. Drenched in Naga sauce. Ordered from them because of recommendations. Chef should not have allowed these to be delivered. There needs to be consistency.

Was nice meal with my partner, had vindaloo meat, lamb biryani, veg biryani, was very nice spicy.

Good Place to eat and food is good. Some Pakistanis are haters as i read the comments cause Bengali food is better then theres. They do go around bad mouth others so they get credit for there food places. If your coming for curry this will be bengali style and better biryanis then pakistani food places. As the bengali are the curry king in UK with excellent service.

Visiting Luton during Eid Holidays, stopped by to get some chicken and chips in Bury Park. Had to wait as they freshly made them. I really liked the spicy red sauce. Tables were clean and tidy. Friendly and polite staff.

I ordered from here once, because I had a promo code, but never again. Some of the food was ok but other bits were either burnt or undercooked, no consistency at all. There are so many great Indian takeaways in Luton, so don't bother with this place.

Horrible experience only naan was good in taste. Butter chicken was sweet in taste ,tawa karahi was poor taste and bbq was pathetic. Don't recommended to Pakistanis.

Food was good, we ordered a little of everything on the menu. Some curries, a burger, peri peri chicken, chicken chaat, samosa, parata, lamb Biryani and paneer tikka. Quite spicy but balanced out as the butter chicken however was sweet tasted abit like coconut curry other than that all good. Would try again. Service was good too.

New to the area, tried Lamb Biryani which comes with Tarka Daal. Food was absolutely delicious and customer service was also very good. Overall very happy and will try the rest of the Menu

I have ordered some chicken roast for Eid celebration and what can I say.. The food was excellent, I would recommend to anyone. My order came with mint sauce and salad. I would go back to karahai centre again.

Tried this place just before lockdown. The food was nice but the service was a bit poor. The atmosphere wasn’t great as it is a small place and there were people walking past our table coming in from outside. The restaurant itself is pretty decent but was disappointed when staff told me that I couldn’t use the toilet. I found this very strange with a restaurant that has dining in.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery when I was recently working in area. Order went through online and money was taken. I then received a phone call to say they do not deliver to the postcode I was staying in and they would refund my money. Just had an email to say I have been refunded in full but no refund has been received.

Not impressed. Ordered from here yesterday and got food poisoning and when I tried calling them, they said the food was “too spicy” but I never heard of spicy food giving anyone food poisoning 🤷🏻‍♀️

Food was worst. Chicken jalfrezi and chicken phall was like raw uncooked red chilli paste with chicken cubes. They also added chilli powder as a topping for chicken biriyani.

Do not order from here. Half of your meal will come missing and then they will deny that you ordered it. Very unprofessional. No customer service skills whatsoever.

Ordered special shatkora donar with naan, karahi chips and wing meal. The donar was decent wasn’t spicy and the shatkora was mild level. I didn’t like the face that the only salad was what looked like old lettuce and cucumber and the it was sandwiched in between the naan bread and donar meat so it was all nasty and soggy and hot and made the naan soggy and inedible in the middle. The naan by itself was quit overpriced £2! The Karahi chips where not tasty quite undercooked it seemed. And the wings were absolutely inedible, they looked like yesterday’s wings order 5 wing meal and couldn’t eat not 1 wing. Would’ve returned but was in Luton for the day so wasn’t gonna Drive an hour back.

Whenever I come down to bury park, I go to this place, never been disappointed. Very yummy halal food and staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. HMC certified. Just a heads up they only take cash.

If you are EXTREMELY hungry, then this place will do, otherwise if you know what food is then I'd recommend you go avoid this place. If you are expecting your traditional Pakistani Karahi dishes then this place is not for you. We was disappointed with the food quality. If you like Onions in your Karahi, this place is for you....

Took the plundge and ordered the venom wings which the guy at the counter warned me about and which had over 18s only mark warning mark next to it. So being the risk taker I ordered it thinking what's the worst that could happen. I'm good with spicy food but damn these things did a number on me. My stomach was empty and in hinesight I should have had some food as these didn't settle at all plus it was a sticky hot day temp around 26 celceus. As soon as you eat these you feel the spice which for your average person is a sight to stop but not for me. Took a whole table spoon full of the gravy and some chicken and sat. Immediately after the spice hits you the heat rises after a few minutes I started to sweat. I didn't bow out and ate almost the gravy and the chicken wings but it was hard when you could feel the burn from mouth to stomach. I commend these guys for making something this hot it took me out that night had to chase down the spice with water ice cream and milk and it still wasn't complying my digestive system. Not recommended for anyone to eat but try if you up to the task.

Ended up having to go here since grill house was closed. Wasn't a good decision. BAD FOOD! BAD PRICE! The food was not great. We ordered chicken karahi and tikka, neither of the chicken were cooked. The roti was dry. Just pointing out I've never been to a restaurant where you have to go up to the counter to get your food. Seems a little ridiculous when you have so much staff just standing around. It was also very expensive. WON'T BE GOING AGAIN!

We were in Luton for the weekend and thought this place would be nice. We ordered spicy Donner, venom wings, grilled chicken with chips and a fried chicken piece with chips. The donner had no taste at all. The venom wings were impossible to eat and the chicken piece tasted like it was battered in salt 100 times. The only positive was the guy serving at the front. He was very friendly.

They make good food but once I asked for lamb biriyani they also charged me for tarka lentil even though I never asked for it.

Do not go such slow service took around 30minute when placed order there was no customers and then customers after us were getting their meals first and staff are so rude and have no manners would not recommend at all the was pink and the guy claimed that how it originally was when cooked absolutely disgusting gone way down hill

Ate during the opening day the food was good, tried again and the food was below par. Ordered doner, chicken and chips the food did not taste good at all and it was a struggle to eat.Spicy doner lacked flavour, chip tasted like it was soggy and the chicken wasn't flavourful.

Hidden gem, great place if you fancy something spicy

Very disappointing with the portion size and price. New owners charging customers more for less...Rip off! The customer service is only satisfactory. Definitely not worth another visit.

The food was alright but my mate couldn't stop farting afterwards which upset me. Think he had a bit too much naga. So got mixed feelings about this one now.

Full review: I was visiting Luton to drop-off a family member to Luton airport and I decided to drive into Luton town-centre to see what's on offer. I asked a couple of Asian locals on the street which restaurant I should try if I wanted a decent spicy lunch and I was repeatedly recommended Spicy Karahi. Checking TripAdvisor showed that it was also a highly recommended walk-in restaurant and that it had good prices. This was a good sign! I popped into the restaurant at 2pm (Monday 1st April 2019), the tables were clean, there was plenty of sunlight in the restaurant, nice table layouts, reasonably decorated, and a good amount of customers already eating in. The owner recommended I try the lamb biryani. I ordered this and it was served with tarka dal (spicy lentils and chickpeas), the price came to a very reasonable £6.95. Meal portion was larger than expected, and quality of the food, especially the rice and meat/lamb biryani was very good. I have attached photos of the dish I ate if you want to see what the lamb biryani and tarka dal looks like. Enjoy!

Very slow service, not friendly

Nuclear Belly Man... I had the guys wbehind counter in stitches over that when I told them I have nuclear belly, as they advised me on the level of scorch... Ordered hot, bbq, naga and nuclear wings . Obviously it had to be the Nuclear and Naga Wings for me. These were off the charts, fantastic flavour and smoking hot... I am still to try the venom as they may be the hottest, but I love the heat and flavour...If you like spice go there and get them wing selections now.

This is a unprepossessing outlet on Dunstable Road (Trip Advisor's form rejected the postcode entry, but the place has it as LU1 1EW). Mainly takeaway and delivery, there's half a dozen tables one can pull up a chair to. It's basic and scruffy, but eating in is cheap, portions were huge, and the dishes we selected were very good indeed.
