Shahi Nan Kabab in Luton

I have been dinning in desi restaurant for a long time, believe me have never been in such a messy place. Nothing there is even average, we ordered chicken karahi and sheekh kebab and we got a few bits of chicken in gravy, salad and two kebabs all served in one dinner plate with a naan served in filthy Changeer. Very dissatisfied and disappointed and their chargers are like a five star dinning. Never ever go there again, honestly a big disappointment in every field, wish I could give a negative marking. Wonder how these restaurants get bussiness.

Ordered the mixed grill starter for £19 shocked to see it was served on an ordinary dinner plate, it stated it had reshmi kabab there was no such thing on the plate, queried the waiter but he said it was there. Trying to gaslight me when I know an extra sheekh kabab isn’t it, just be honest and say you ran out. The platter was flavourless, rubbery and overpriced. The waiter was careless and unprofessional. Salad was stale, the ‘special’ fries were also cold. The only thing I liked was the chicken tikka biryani but it was a small portion. Came on a Saturday and it was empty and now I know why. Won’t be coming back.

Worst service you will get there and food is okay. Help yourself and make sure to order on counter, else you will be waiting half an hour to be served :D Can't believe they are still open and never try their toilets.

This shawarma spot in Bury Park is the perfect place to grab shawarma if you are peckish after a grocery run. The shawarma is packed with flavour , super filling, and the service is good too.

Biryani was very bad lukewarm maybe microwaved and no taste whatsoever had to force myself to eat and only a few pieces of chicken they should be embarrased for giving me that. Felt a bit sick afterwards!!! Shame on you shahi nan kebab

Worst food ever. No spoons or forks, had to ask for salad. Naan were like brought from lidl, cold and nit fresh. Dishes were completely disqusting no salt , wow. Never going again. Don't go there, waste if money,

My order was £73 including 8 chicken donner with naan but two naan was missing we call them they ask they deliver it to my home and taken my address but after 1 hour when I call again they said they have no driver to deliver it happens second time. My experience was ridiculous with them they have to check the order before they giving to customer. I advise you all please check your order when you order anything from them

Very very poor, all food was luke warm, tasted like they had just warmed up precooked food, mixed with chilli powder and spices, far too spicey, wasn't fresh at all. Chicken Tikka was dry, curry too many uncooked spices. The was reluctant to give us glasses for water, said he hasn't got any ketchup, but it was there sitting on the front counter... sorry will not be wasting my money and time there again. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

Stopped here on the way back from a trip. Immediately alarm bells rang when we saw it was empty at 8pm on a Saturday, but we needed to eat and we had a long way to go still. First thing we noticed was a £12 disparity between their online menu and instore menu, which meant we had to change our planned meal bc it didnt seem like good value anymore. We ordered a chicken donner with chips, a chicken saag with rice, 3 of their set meal no.4, and a garlic chicken and some naan. The garlic chicken didn't have a hint of garlic. My dad had to get back to the counter and let the chef taste it to make him believe it despite him being the one who made it. After which he added more garlic. The chicken biryani was very dry with barely any vegetable sauce in it, ans the chicken itself was hard. The chicken saag had no salt in it, and the rice for it only arrived after we asked a third time. To top it all off, when we asked to get our leftovers for takeaway, they told us to take the plates ourselves to the counter for packing. I have never seen this anywhere else. Usually they will take the food and pack it, or provide boxes at the table. I cannot believe they asked the customer yo carry a plate and karahi pan through the restaurant to get it packed with a straight face. I have eaten at almost all the places in Bury Park but this was the worst place by far. If I could give a lower rating I would. It is genuinely astonishing how they are still in business.

Good place for pakistani and halal dishes

Food was just about ok but not restaurant quality. They use the most cheapest water infused chicken for their chicken tikka - i don’t expect that much of low quality chicken in a restaurant maybe in cheap £1 chicken sandwiches. Meat tikka and chicken biryani was too salty. Naan was good. Chicken curry ok.

You cannot fault this place best curries aswell as kebabs. Fresh, tasty and quickly prepared. Ive been coming here for years now

Been here a few times over the years food has deteriorated. 2 keema naans I brought today were burnt . Nonsense but they don’t care happily wrapped them in foil I am sure they would not eat them themselves. No standards !

Ordered the platter for 2 consisting of 4 sheek kebabs, 2 chicken Tikka , 4 naan and swapped the chicken karahi for the mutton. Only thing that tasted fresh was the sheek, the Tikka pieces were rubbery and not fresh with no flavour at all stale like they have been pre frozen and grilled or have been reheated from yesterday. The mutton karahi was tasteless and the mutton pieces of meat had a strong smell like meat that's been stored for ages, mutton pieces had fat stuck to it, wasn't even cleaned properly before serving as a dish. Totally horrible experience paid £26 for a rip off meal. Will not recommend or ever revisit. Only good thing I can say is the gentleman that served us was polite and the place was quite during the day!

Great food worth the price and waiting

Being going for years unfortunately i miss the old food. The taste of food has gone downhill. Nans used to be soo tasty and kebabs used to hit the spot. Its ok but its a shame 2004 2007 amazing food

Had a meal with the archery club and the food was amazing, good service and have been here before but never wrote a review, always consistently good food.

Poor food, poor service and extremely rip off.

Sat there for the first time and had an extremely bad experience. We ordered Chicken Karahi, Large mix grill which was a joke in name of large. Keema which tasted just ok. Lamb biryani was not properly cooked and when we complained they didn't bother to apologise. Food is extremely pricey in comparison to what quality and portion you get.

It was out first time trying here, ordered channa daal with 2 kebabs and naan. Naan was super soft and fresh. Kebabs were also fresh and good in taste. Channa daal was okai. Overall we enjoyed our lunch.

Family members took me here, and I must say the food was not bad at all. The Kebabs were succelulent and juicy. The lamb curry and tadka dal were very tasty.

Food is not fresh saag ghosht was canned saag,the chicken karahi was made with a pataks sauce jar. Atleast cook it fresh when it's your own people. Only thing that was fresh was the naan and roti. The place is dead no customers at all.

Give it a miss, unless you suffer from constipation

Very disappointing Iftar meal. The dining area was cold, no heating. Very basic settings, no attempt to give style or atmosphere. Food served cold, and very small portions for any dish ordered whether it was most expensive platter or a karahi. Way too much salt in chicken tikka made it inedible and all the meat was overcooked. Lamb tikka and Seekh kebabs again were overcooked and dry. Won't be going back anymore, as most of these issues are not addressed and getting worse. Bury Park overall has no choice for good dine in restaurants, which is surprising for a long established Pakistani community. Parking is severely limited and the council should be ashamed of not supporting the independent businesses here.

Popped in last weekend to pick up some kebabs to take home. He wouldn’t take a card payment. The only cash I had was a £50 note, which he wouldn’t take either. When he realised I had no other cash to pay he pulled out his card machine. So he does take card payments. Arrived home and opened the box, the kebabs were really small, tiny in fact and all burnt. Very disappointing. Do not recommend their food or service to anyone.

Food is fantastic the only place I know prepare kebabs to order. Always my place to visit for freshly made kebabs.

No frills, no airs and graces. Just tasty food. We had a family meal and the place was pretty full, so we had to sit near the front, which meant a draught from the door. Ordered boiled rice, nan breads, Chana Masala (chickpeas), Sarg Gosht (lamb and spinach), Garlic Chicken, Chicken Dupiaza and drinks. Service was a little slow, but they were busy and people were calling for takeaways. All in all, nice evening.

Reasonable (decent) food. Halal of course. Very good value for money. Always cold and unpleasant dining-in experience (no heating) in the winter! But food is reasonably good quality.

The waiter was extremely rude and abrupt!Thefood was not up to stratch! Waiter made disrespectful remarks when my elderly father asked for salt! He was huffing and puffing! Extreme let down! I had travelled from Sheffield! I've never been disappointed in that place before.

Went there to dine in and had a good experience they have a good sitting area and the guy who served us was really professional. We had qeema naan and really liked them. Overall we had a good experience

Decent food at reasonable prices

My first visit ever despite being a Lutonian, the food isn't the best. I heard very highly of this place in the past but never actually tried it as most places in Bury Park aren't worth it. They're not hygienically clean. This place didn't have a place to wash your hands whilst having dining area.

Shahi naan kabab Dunstable Road is one of the worst places to eat. Kababs were dry, motton karahi was very sweet. Poor service, we were not even given tissues and glasses. Place didn't look clean. I would avoid going there again.

Most despicable food I have ever paid for.

This used to be a place where kebabs were worth dying for. Sadly over the years standards have declined to a stage where it is not worth visiting again. Bought 2 x large kebab rolls yesterday after a hard days work to eat at home. Kebabs did not come off the grill nor did the nan. Instead saw it coming from under the counter god knows when it was cooked. It was stone cold with soggy salad in it. Did not even take it home but dumped it in a street bin. So sad, this used to be a place to take family and friends for a great experience.

Excellent Nan kebabs, I recommend going for the lamb kebab roll in naan add lots of chilli sauce and enjoy!

Worse place to eat with no coustomer service, food was not fresh, we order chicken curry ,lamb karahi , chiken wings , spring rol and mix grill , i was surprized when i saw my mix grill was served is normal wiht plate was dead cold and i mention i need mild food but its was very spicy , dont go specially dont take your guests thier you will be embarrassed , waiter was saying you need to pic up your drinks from counter he is not serving that unacceptable behaviour , when i complained the guy on the till was saying he is tied thats y 😡 not recommended Not visit again

Food was not fresh. BBQ was days old and served reheated, which made it dry. Extremely poor table and customer service. Not recommended at all, especially not to take guests or family there! It used to be good place a few years ago but not anymore! Avoid this place !!!

The pictures online do not do this place justice! it is a hidden gem. We had the mutton tikka starter and seekh kebabs starters. mutton tikka roll and lamb karahi with tandoori naans. the taste was definitely the type to come back for. I really liked the interior design of the seating area. the prices were more than affordable. super cheap in my opinion considering mutton tikka starter is only around £3. loved it here :D. will be back for more mutton tikka rolls on our next visit to luton next month. will also remember to take pictures next time :P Edit- Just read the previous reviews and in regards to taste what we ordered was absolutely great. top of the list would be the mutton tikka rolls. and its a really good takeaway with a nice dining area, not a top notch Michelin star restaurant.

One of the worst places in Luton. Small portions. Currys have hardly any meat! Kebab's are OK, but why are they soooo small. Stop being so stingy. Give customer what they pay for.

I wish i could give 0 stars i am very disappointed by the customer service at this restaurant i can not beleive i had to carry utensils food and drinks myself even though we did eat in at the restaurant, however taste itself was a joke, i would rather go to a chicken shop but not at this so called restaurant. What a disgrace.

1. Tables are not cleaned. I informed dude at counter and he was trying to convince me to pick another table instead, but all tables had food crumbs / sauce all over. 2. I had to ask them to clean the table twice, and cleaning consists of a wipe down where crumbs go straight to floor. 3. Due to Covid customers are required to order and then collect your food once the waiter tells you it’s ready. … ??! How do you have this rule in place when the restaurant is an absolute tip inside. 4. Ordered mix grill and mutton tikka / lamb chops was smelly, chicken tikka was raw. 5. Seekh kebab was good, £1.10 for half a stick. 6. I asked for sauce and was told to collect it from their ‘counter’ which basically had two jugs of sauce and some used lotas of sauce. 7. Ordered mango lassi which was super warm. Only found out they had no ice after my plastic glass came to my table. How can you serve this drink warm? 8. Genuinely worried about my health after eating there…. 9. This place needs to be shut down for health and safety reasons.

Horrific service - actually zero service. You have to read the menu at the front, and order at the front. Then go collect your own dishes and plates and food. Then find the big jug of chilli and chutney, that you have to pass to other tables if they run out. The staff don’t even clean down tables, they really don’t care about the rep anymore. Food has gone down hill too, only the seekh kebabs are nice everything else is awful. The chicken tikka and chicken karahi are so hard, just seem like it’s reheated meat. Before the pandemic we used to go frequently, never will go again now.

This place has a reputation for good quality food. i use to go there often so recently went to visit with family. Upon entering staff/waiter can be seen playing on phone half asleep. The guy behind the counter was welcoming though!! We went to the back to get a table but couldn't force myself to sit down . The table was so dirty and sticky had dry mayo all over it my Wife volunteered to clean it as one of the staff who was clearing the tables totally ignored our concern. The table cloth was more dirty than the table itself so at this point we decided to walk out. I did make the guy behind the counter aware he was nice enough hence the 2 stars.

We just ordered 6 Chicken Biryani to feed my guest. The Biryani is absolutely disgusting. It tasted like rice with left over curry mix together and on top of that there is hardly any chicken. My husband said spicy and they just added the spice on top which u can taste the raw chilli powder. So disappointed. Never order with these lot. Not worth the money

Worst place to eat! Came here yesterday- first time visiting This place, absolutely vile! Toilets were disgusting with no tissue, asked one of the waiters who shrugged his shoulders & then gave me a napkin? Can’t believe it. Gave the place a chance because we didn’t have much choice elsewhere & was hungry! Food had to be ordered at the till & once ready we had to collect it from the till, what a joke! Mix grill was £14 and not worth 1 penny of it, dry tasteless and small portion. The mutton Karahi was undercooked & chewy again no taste, naan looked like they were reheated & again vile! Food came to £30- service was rubbish, & what a absolute waste of money! Never again. I don’t understand how this place is still running. Luckily there’s a new place open called chai & chappati where we went after & was amazing!

We went on Saturday for a family birthday meal.. We was very disappointed with the quality of the food the presentation was very dirty n greasy plates with lots of oil sitting in plates.. We had starters ckn tikka, wings, lamb chops and sheesh kebabs all food was smelly and had a off taste.. We decided not to eat main here so complained before we left and the guys were not interested. Next morning we all had upset stomach and were sick.. A big no no from me
