Spice4U in Leeds

We ordered the sharing platter of mixed pakoras Two house specials Joynagor and Chom Chom, both fabulous not overly spicy but full of flavour. Pleasant staff and good atmosphere.

Food was tasty, the portion sizes were really generous and the guy that delivered was really friendly

Another excellent meal with 4 different main courses….even enjoyed by 5 & 7 yr olds too 👍 Atmosphere & service as always very friendly ….especiallly JJ & Raj😂

Although we moved away from Yorkshire in 2009, we always visit Spice 4U whenever we can (and for context we currently live more than 250 miles away). The curries here are absolutely the best, bar none - and Indian is my favourite cuisine, so I eat a fair few of them! Dining again there last night was an absolute delight. Under the same ownership for 24 years, Mukith, Jahangir and the team also excel at customer service. The fact that they have so many loyal customers says it all. Highly recommended.

Decided to get a takeaway. Curries very tasty, really well cooked, and perfectly spiced 5/5. Had a Shami kebab starter, 2 very small pattis and a bit disappointing 3/5, Overall, a 4 as needs to be spot on for a 5. .. Now had a couple of takeaways, and I must say they are always excellent, very consistent..

We arrived around 6pm and the place was deserted but by the time we left 90 minutes later, not a spare seat to be had. A great sign. Food reasonably cheap and full of flavour.

Wonderful Gem of a rest’. Food always spot on. Tried most things on the menu over the years (apart from vindaloo). Staff compliment each other. Especially J’J’ who manages a great team. Kept meaning to ‘pay-it-back’ for them. No excuse, just left 👍🏽 Sorry, somehow 1star posted. Meant for 5

The quality of food was poor had no flavour, food came cold and had to be re heat when food came, very disappointed with the meal and service.

Ordered online for collection. On arrival slight hiccup, order was not picked up by management as tablet not activated. No drama, order face to face and waited 10 minutes for order. Tasty curries, good portion size, recommend chicken tikka jalfrezi, chicken rogan josh & veg rice. Will use again. Thanks

I decided to visit this restaurant after reading the decent reviews it had recieved. Sadly this wasn't reflected by the food that was on offer. All our mains tasted the same with an overwelming salty note that totally dominated the whole experiece. The one possitive from my visit was the fact that the toilet was nice and clean , shame about the food !

The reviews here are far too exaggerated. It’s a basic curry place with probably some regular customers that are here out of habit. The lamb chops were succulent but very salty and all main dishes were just lots of spices mixed to a paste with only flavour being salt. It’s on a prime location in Wetherby and if the chef should seriously up his game. I would give it a wide berth

Often get takeaway from here, really enjoy it. The taste differs ever so slightly each time so you can tell they are prepping it fresh. Never had the chance to eat in, but the guys are always friendly when I go for collection.

Best curry house by far in the area

Best experience I have ever had and top quality food

The food was excellent, and the service was some of the friendliest ever. From our starter dipping sauces to the main course, everything was fantastic.

We arrived as a walk in late Friday evening on the way to Scotland and from the minute we walked in the experience was wonderful. It’s been a very long time since I have eaten out and not found something that wasn’t quite right. But this small and cosy restaurant is faultless. Everything is absolutely spotless. The plates arrived hot, the dishes were piping and kept warm on the table. The staff serve and cleared from the correct side and the plates were turned for logos facing. This is silver service quality training. The portions are incredibly generous and every mouthful is seasoned to perfection. The drinks we ordered arrived quickly, with ice and lemon as standard. The condiments on the table were clean. The cutlery clean (these things should be standard but very often fall short) The tables have proper linen cloths and napkins. The bathrooms are spotless also which is rare and the hot towels at the end of the meal very welcome. The staff are unfailing polite, swift yet unobtrusive and efficient. The whole evening was a treat at a very reasonable price. My only complaint is that we live so far away!

An unexpected pleasure. We weren't expecting to have dinner here and as walk in customers we were made very welcome. The food was superb and plentiful. The service was first class. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for such pleasant and delicious meals.

Ordered a takeaway on Uber eats. An hour and a half later, no food. I Call them for them to say ‘what do you want me to do? Uber eats haven’t come to collect it’. Terrible customer service. A simple phone call would have helped. Spice 4u, if Uber eats aren’t collecting your orders, stop using them. You are both letting your customers down.

This was an excellent Indian. We had Tarka dall, Chana sag and mixed vegetable Balti. The food was very good as was the service we had.

I have loved this place since they opened and as a Wetherby restaurant have used it extensively both for solo delivery and for entertaining my overseas guests. THIS however was a farce. Ordered online and said to call for payment. Half hour later - no call so I called them only to be told we don't take credit cards...since when? I've paid so many times that way. Then it was too noisy for him to hear and hung up!! An hour after I had placed the original order it suddenly arrived at my door expecting cash......I'd already given up on them long ago and ordered elsewhere...and finished already!!! Sent the delivery back. This is no way to treat a very long time customer - and a local competitor filled the gap very well.

The welcome was good, order came very quickly…ordered the same old…Chicken Tikka Bhuna Madras hot and a pilau rice with plain Nan…the meal arrived piping hot…smaller chunks of chicken than normal but this didn’t spoil the enjoyment…spices and sauce were excellent, could have done with some more sauce but that’s minor…cheerful staff…would rate this curry house highly…

We had an absolutely amazing meal. Waiter recommended items and we had them. A lovely atmosphere. Great little restaurant. Was quite busy for a Wednesday.

I asked for a veggie curry, asked for something special from the chef. I also asked for fresh coriander and garlic on top. It was only 6pm so I was expecting something tasty as it was quiet. My wife ordered lamb and had fresh onions and peppers with it. Looked lovely! I clearly just got veg out the freezer. But no fresh onions and peppers. Appalling and no excuse for such a poor effort. I told the waiter I was disappointed about the veg and he argued with me ( never a good look!) Told me I shouldn’t have specified what I wanted, (I asked for extra bhindi) , I should have asked for a veggie Khari. Excuse me! It’s my meal! I want to eat what I want! Not what they can be bothered to prepare! Appalling meal and an argumentative waiter. I’m now in my hotel after midnight eating the leftovers! My wife’s lamb was still delicious! The fresh veg still tasty! Mine was still appalling, small chopped up veg out of the freezer and nothing fresh at all. Oh, and no extra coriander or garlic because even though we were the only people in the restaurant, they couldn’t even be bothered to do that either.

Really yummy and flavoursome, we really enjoyed our meal here. We had the fish and spinach wrap, platter for 2 and a paneer masala with mushroom pilau, everything was delicious👌

Absolutely horrible food I got a chicken tikka massala tonight and never in my life have I had such a bland curry and it didn't even taste like a curry it was like a sweet Chinese chicken sauce with nothing added but about 8 little bits of chicken. I have never had a sweet curry in my life and never want to again I'd strongly advise finding a real Indian place for dinner because this isn't that will not be going back even

Not at all a chicken tikka masala should never be sweet like that maybe a subtle sweet hint along with spices but there was nothing but sweetness in the curry I ordered I mean for god sake the sauce was pink just about and by real Indian I mean authentic and thay was no such thing you would get laughed out of India with that rubbish and in a traditional tikka masala there is usually some vegetables like fresh tomatoes or peppers and all it was was under seasoned chicken in a vile sugary pink sauce you are a disgrace to the Indian culture for even trying to defend that horrible excuse for a dish

A very poor curry. Definitely not worth the hype at all.

The food was nice however, the waiter was sir this and sir that to my boyfriend and being overly nice to him but didn’t hardly speak to me. When we asked for the bill he went straight over to my boyfriend with the card machine even though I was paying. There is clearly underlines of sexism and misogyny which made me feel uncomfortable.

We went to spice 4 u last Sunday, it was a last minute decision as we were passing. We went in at 5pm (it had just opened) the man behind the bar was on the phone, we went in he looked up but didn’t acknowledge us. We waited for him to finish on the phone. When he was finished he came out from behind the counter looked at the clock and told us they opened at 5pm and pointed at the clock (it was 5.10pm) he then sat us down at our table, he was very abrupt and rude. But we stayed as we thought he might just be a bit stressed. Another waiter came out who was very pleasant and nice. The first man came back over to our table and again didn’t even look at us but ver abruptly asked us what we wanted, we asked if he could recommend a fish dish, he scowled and tutted at us, waived his hand and said the ‘massala dish’ my partner and I didn’t say anything as he was quite aggressive and we carried on ordering through the order the man was still very rude, he made us feel like we were a massive inconvenience being there. Once he had taken the order we both decided that we weren’t going to stay and be spoken to like this. We got up and explained that we had changed our mind the waiter asked why, we explained that we thought he was being very rude he answered ‘I’m not rude! Just sit down and stay’. By this point neither of us wanted to stay he was so very rude. It was ver disappointing as we love supporting local restaurants but we would definitely never go back there again.

Excellent food. Travelled from Harrogate on recommendation, food very flavoursome and plenty of it, very welcoming and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere. Will defo be back and highly recommended.

Takeaway was timely and food was great as always. The mint yoghurt is amazing, they need to sell it in a bottle! Only putting 4 stars as our coke was missed off the order but they came out right away and delivered it. We always have good food and service from this restaurant over the years and it’s one of our favourite’s in the area.

We were staying in nearby Spofforth and on our first night, we searched online for an Indian restaurant and found this one in nearby Wetherby. So pleased we did, amazing curries and great service!

The food here was second to none !!!! I am not from wetherby but I will travel here just for the food ! Make sure u have any starter that comes with yoghurt sauce..... It's to die for !!!! I live close to Harrogate but if I want a decent curry I have to go to Wetherby. Spice 4U is great. Always welcoming. Always clean and tidy. It's a small restaurant but they work within themselves producing FRESH tasty food. Its very reasonably priced too. The breads demostrate how freshly prepared the food is. Go there and try it.

I have visited Spice 4 U , Wetherby on many occassions and highly reccommend it. The food is out of this wirld, they usetheir very own mixture of spices unique to themselves and this reflects on the excellence of their food. The staff are very friendly and caring, they really do want you to enjoy your food and the experience of your visit to them. Any problems nknow matter how small are rectified immediately. I am an elderly guy , I have travelled around a lot and I say that this is the best restuarant that I have ever been in. The ambience is so relaxing, you never want to leave. To Jay Jay, Mokieth and all the staff , thank you for your friendship and everything that you do. I pray that during these troubled times with this dreadful corona virus you all keep safe. Patrick
