Red Pepper Indian Restaurant in Leeds

Honestly the best Indian takeaway I've ever had. Absolutely beautiful.

We both enjoyed the starters, but not so much the curries, not hot at all despite my husband having one that was supposed to be hot. However it's a lovely clean place, really nice staff just if you like a hot curry ask about it before you order. The rice portion size was small too. Just a heads up.

In the centre of Otley, the restaurant is set in a lovely location. The majority of the dishes are gluten-free, and tasty. There are plenty of curries to chose from. I got a lamb nurgaki, which was nice but not anywhere close to the top 10 curries I've eaten in my life. However, everyone else really enjoyed theirs. The staff and atmosphere were both great.

Our go to place for dining in or a take away. Great menu and friendly staff.

Absolute rip off. Went for the banquet and were overcharged on the drinks, almost double what it should have been. Only realised afterwards, you don’t expect to be ripped off.

Booked this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews as we were visitors to the area. Lovely evening exploring the quaint and numerous pubs in this town so were ready for our curries. We were not disappointed. The old building was larger than we expected with three eating areas. Service was excellent and prompt. The food was very good, authentic and fresh, with excellent vegetable rice to accompany my meal. I feel we were very lucky to find such a good Indian restaurant, thank you trip advisor.

Great curry restaurant, really helpful staff willing to give you knowledgeable information on the different dishes. Food was really tasty and had a good spice blend. Would highly recommend.

In the back street, what great find. Thoroughly great meal to celebrate my 60th birthday with my wife. Has to be a popular local place as it was packed. The food was super, and the staff very friendly. All delivered at a lovely pace, we didn't feel rushed.

First off i want to say is why i gave a 1 star to this place.. is because the manager miah i think, has been giving alot of verbals to another elderly person, i disliked the fact that as a manager his not doing a good customer service as that's the main thing in a restaurant environment. On the other hand Don't get me wrong the food and service was great! The young lad with curly hair is a hard working waiter. including the rest of them. As I've just moved into that area as friends have recommended. i thought i'd try this place as it's nearly 5 star. I do recommend this place as in food wise and the waiters that do a fabulous job. This night was really busy, i think the manager got frustrated or pressured but the service is fast. Thanks to the chefs and everyone in the kitchen, also the delivery drivers as i have ordered a big order to my friends house for a big party. They were quick and the packing was nicely organised and packed. They're a machine!!!! Without these staffs this place would go downhill. Thanks to the chefs and the waiters, ill be coming down to give you all a tip as you deserve it, hopefully next week or some time. Cheers mate No disability parking spaces! I have to walk it all the way here and leave my car somewhere else, as it gets really hard for my mom who has a disability. Food - 10/10 Service - it was great Drinks - worth the price alcohol/ soft drinks Besides that everything was cool, will be back soon.

Food was cold on arrival and lacked any real flavour or spice. Disappointed.

Freezing cold. Will never order again, 1 hour 20 mins to arrive, for it to be freezing cold when we live within a mile of the resteraunt so no reason for it to be cold

First time ordering from here. The curry was very nice, but the rice was a little dry and the naan was burnt, hence only 4 stars

Been going for years our favourite place for a curry

Great food, good price. Exactly the sort of old fashioned curry experience we were after, popadoms and a pickle tray, mixed kebab starter and good curries for the main. All good. Apart from the coffee-do not bother getting this!

Were shown to our table waited 20 mins for menus and drinks then the worst waited an Hour for food to arrive, by this time our drinks were finished and tried several times to order more. Were just about to walk out when food arrived. Did notice that there was a lot of take away going out and food in the restaurant were left last. We were not the only customers sitting for a long time waiting for food. It is true what one customer said you would be quicker getting a take away as these were going out fast and furious. Not even an apology for the wait !!!

Food tasted nice, but was late and so unfortunately was cold. The delivery driver apologised, and explained they had been busy, but spoilt our experience.

I was visiting Otley and selected the Red Pepper after scanning Tripadvisor reviews. Happy to confirm that this is a decent Indian restaurant which offers good service and a nice range of dishes at reasonable prices. Poppadoms, main dish with rice and Kingfisher was about £23. The usual hot towel plus chocolate was provided. My only observation is that decor is quite simple and space is at a premium so maybe not the place for a romantic tête-à-tête.

Just another curry shop, nowt special but OK.

Prices going up and portions getting smaller. Tasty as it was I am no longer prepared to pay £10.95 for a chicken tikka masala which is mostly sauce and very little chicken, 12 really small pieces of chicken to be exact. Didn't even amount to the size of a chicken breast.

Great food and good service. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Nice interior and the vindaloo was a good hot one.

As this is one of my favourite places to eat out, I could be biased , but if it was at all disapointing, then I would not want to go there. The gentleman that runs and owns the Red Pepper is a gentleman, extremley helpful, friendly and his staff are the same. Very helpful and giving plenty of info about which dishes are suitable if you explain what you like or don't like. The food is excellent as is the service. I can't help but go back, other Indians quite often disapoint. Esp the friendliness of the staff. I took a friend who had not been before and she felt exactly the same. I hope I can goback again soon.

Usually dine in at Red pepper but decided to have it delivered to us this time. Lovely as always just slightly oilier than usual.

Ordered a takeaway for the first time from Red Pepper and was really impressed. Food was delicious and arrived within the timeframe they said which is an instant hit!! Will definitely get all future takeaways from here.

Always great quality food from here but it takes so long to arrive. I got a notification saying it was on its way but it arrived 40 minutes after that!

We have visited the Red pepper on a few occasions now. The food is always great and the staff always friendly and helpful. I think it's the best Indian restaurant for quality and value. We would highly recommend !

Food poisoning, absolutely disgusting food and terrible service. I can’t stand this place and will never be coming back. I could write paragraphs about how bad our experience was today but you’re not living rent free in my head so I’ll summarise. Greasy, old, overcooked slop. Expensive drinks, abysmal service, argumentative, incompetent and horrible staff, worst food I’ve ever had. Would rather have ate the dead pigeon outside. Check the other reviews out for this place, it’s rank.

The food is excellent, we always go with a large party of us and they can accommodate us, all the food comes out together with no delays.

Bought a takeaway meal of Chicken Biryani and Chicken Korma with sides and it was utterly delicious. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. We’ll certainly become regulars!

Food was lovely, unfortunately they forgot my vegetable sauce for my Biryani, gave them a quick call and they delivered it in about 5 minutes.

Very good food, we ordered mixed starter to share, chicken madras, chicken balti, pilau rice,chips and peshwari nan, we couldn't fault any of it, the madras was hot and spicy but also tasty as was the balti. Staff was very friendly. Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant

service and delivery was great! even got free poppadoms! curry was good quality, loved the flavours! however sides (chips and garlic naan) were really poor, chips were stale and naan was too sweet

Revolting! The oddest & oiliest saag aloo with a strong peculiar flavour (I wasn’t alone with my opinion) along with the skimpiest & most scrawny lamb chops (practically served seasoned shards of bone). Never paid so much for so little.. Perhaps I made 2 unlucky choices. Paid in full, gave feedback but will not ever go back again.

Visited last night and had a fabulous meal here. The food is delicious. We had the garlic chilli chicken, Lahore lamb and the chicken and chick peas. All three of us were very complimentary about the food and experience. The garlic naans were exceptional. The service was great as always and the value for money here makes this a first class destination in Otley. Well done guys !

Recently visited with the world famous Jazzy Boys Curry Club, the Red Pepper served up really nice mains, decent portions rive and in particular naan breads were stupendous. Worth a trip if you live a good cuzza

The worst meal I have ever had the smallest portion of rice ever and when I complained was made to feel it was my fault refused to pay for my main and got barred which is ok because didn't Intend to go back

Starters were a bit dry but mains were very tasty. Nan bread (Special) was very different from anything we've ever had before and very tasty. Everything arrived hot and on time.

Not a great Indian Restaurant, I ate here as one of a party of six. Most were unimpressed with the size of the portions and my tikka masala seemed to be sadly lacking in its chicken content. The staff are pleasant enough, but seem unable to grasp the customers preferences, or make even the slightest variation to the requested meals. Watch out for the overpriced nan bread and drinks. Not somewhere any of us will be likely to visit in future.
